Chapter 14: The Little Things

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Celestia looked out sorrowfully and longingly. Her gaze filled with the very mortal gaze of normal people. How would have she been thought of right now by her family. Her long dead father and mother that did nothing but support them. She shook her head slightly going to a place she never wanted to go back to. She stood on the second level of Carousel Boutique, the outer level. Facing the wind that blew from the north. She stood tall and firm against the edge and felt the wind blow past her. The immortal felt a numb wave of no heat or any ice, where there should have been temperature, there was none.

She was left with the wind, bringing nothing of comfort or of discomfort. Just a numb wave bracing against her. It was not a pleasant feeling. Oh how Celestia longed for the breeze against the wind, rushing through her hair and against her face. To be swept far away from that mortal place. To take her place amongst her ancestors in the sky. She looked longingly up into the sky. She saw the faintest of their twinkles as they made way for night. Luna was ready to raise the moon, and Celestia was ready to lower the sun. They had about an hour or so left, of twilight.

The princess of the sun. Her official title. What she was in essence. A goddess to be worshiped, yet she was every bit as mortal as her subjects. Nothing aside from immortality that differentiated from them. Celestia heard the careful placement of feet agains the wood floor, she looked out of her peripherals to see the form of her sister. She stopped at the top of the stairs and leaned against the railing. Crossing her arms casually. Celestia glanced over at Luna briefly and asked after a sigh, "What have we done wrong dear sister?"

The Princess of the Night answered unmoving from her spot, "Please elaborate?"

"I mean, " Celestia asked once more looking at her younger sister, "I mean why have some of them been drawn to murder? Have we not given everything we could to our subjects?"

The moon goddess shrugged and added, "There is little that I can answer better than you, 'Tia. I have only been back for a few years after I made a poor decision."

Luna pushed herself off of the railing and walked over to stand next to her sister. She followed Celestia's hollowed gaze and she said, "There are little answers to many hollow questions of this world. Many of them will remain a mystery, but if you want to know why these ponies were driven to murder is beyond me. They cast their fate and destiny away when they decided to spill innocent blood."

Celestia listened with great care and worry. The wise words of her sister spoke in volumes to Celestia. She had not heard her do so in over a thousand years. Celestia turned towards Luna and asked, "Do you truly believe that Rarity and Pinkie Pie were capable of such things?"

Luna appeared hurt by the question. The princess of the night stared up at the sky, raising the moon. With it's pale maiden light staring long at its master. Luna said with a darkened expression, "I do not know for certain if they were the ones who performed the deed...all I know for certain is where Pinkie Pie comes from....and...and it's not the peace that you wanted your subjects to have."

"What do you mean?" Celestia asked with worry in her voice.

Luna leaned against the railing folding her arms in close. She answered, "She comes from a family of murderers. In their blood runs the sins of their legacy. She...she used to pray to me...when she was going to bed...she prayed I took her far away from that place. She...she prayed that she did not have to do anything. It got to point where she prayed for her death."

Celestia held a shocked look. Pinkie Pie. How could a being filled with joy think of such awful thoughts? What had she been raised around? Celestia herself enchanted the land so that it was nearly impossible to kill. Celestia looked over at Luna and she visibly shown how much it hurt her. She was asked upon to do things, but she could do nothing. She was banished to the moon and she was forced with listening to many cries of people who wanted their princess of the night back. They prayed to an empty source. Celestia offered a gentle hand to rest on her sister and said tenderly, "I know it must have been hard for you. Being unable to answer her prayers-"

"No 'Tia," Luna stood back up wiping a tear away, "You don't understand. I wasn't just banished to the moon because I threatened the lives of so many of my subjects. But I broke one of the only laws that we set for each other."

Celestia stood back from her sister and asked, "Lulu...what...what have you done?"

Luna kept her gaze away from Celestia and she said, "I...I...I started a family."

Celestia's eyes grew as wide as plates. When they were asked to watch over the land by Adena, Goddess of Harmony, they were given laws that were to never be broken. One, they were not supposed to start a family. Two, they were to protect not cause wars. Three, they were not to reveal their actual identities to anyone. And Four, they were to never use Dark Forces. Adena gave them these simple rules to live by, and Luna found a way to break nearly every one. There was a time during Luna's banishment that Celestia asked Adena why they were not able to start family. Adena said that when an Angel, what Luna and Celestia are, where to have a family of half breeds. They would be born from pure sin, all that they would know was to kill. These are known as Nephilim. Celestia now knew what she meant. Pinkie Pie is a Nephilim. Which was why Luna was so easy to jump to the conclusion that Rarity and Pinkie killed someone.

Celestia asked letting it sink in, "What are you going to do now?"

She had been crying this whole time. Letting tears fall like rain from clouds. When Celestia asked what she was going to do. One thing entered her mind. Luna sniffed and answered in a tone that descended quickly, "I am going to take matters into my own hands. I cannot bare the thought of my family dying at the hands of my fellow Sisters and Brothers. For they would be banished to Tartarus forever, they are already going there. So, I am going to fix what I started. I am going to kill every one that carries my celestial blood."

Author's Notes:

Closed out of school and here you go my lovelies! I hope that this will explain a few things. Although I have seen many variations of Luna and Celestia, but I don't think anyone has considered having them be Angels. Anyway, sorry about the short chapter but we will soon be getting back to the important stuff!

See you guys next chapter:raritywink:
