Secret History of Celestia

Chapter 1: 1: Little Sister

1: Little Sister

Celestia waited in her room. The dolls, giant bed, and brilliant colors of the curtains and wallpapers didn't distract the young princess from her thoughts. Her sister was to be born in just a few moments.

However, a sister was the last thing she needed. She already had a brother who was annoying. Adding more ponies into the family meant less alone time. Celestia liked alone time.

"You're sister is almost here," She heard her maidservant say from behind the doors.

"I DON'T CARE!" Celestia screamed at the top of her lungs. "I don't care about some tiny foal filly! I don't care about changing diapers! I don't care about having an heir! I don't care about the moon!"

Celestia screamed into her pillow, stood up on her bed, and kicked it across the room. She cried herself to sleep in a screaming rage.

A few hours later, her father knocked softly on the door.

"Celestia, are you in there, Honey?" He asked.

Celestia woke up and trotted to her door. She opened it and remembered about her sister.

"Oh, right. You want me to see my sister," She scoffed.

"No. I want to talk to you," Her father sighed. Celestia blinked with confusion. "You need to learn to love ponies. You never know what you love or hate until you give it a chance."

"I hate everything! I don't want a sister!" She confirmed.

"You never know until you try. If you don't stop, you'll be disciplined. Do you want a swat?"

"No," Celestia sweated with nervousness when she realized what that meant. Her parents were always busy with ruling a kingdom to take care of their children, so the maidservants took care of them. They weren't very good at it. Their parents wanted to take care of them, and they knew that they weren't being disciplined the way they should've been.

"Very well. Come with me," Celestia followed her father to her parents' bedroom. The decor was very grand, and Celestia felt very proud that she would sleep in it when she would become queen. The bedding was orange and blue, as if the day touched the night in brilliant sunset. The light was only partly dimmed, which put a level of drama onto the scene. Celestia breathed in the scent of rose scented candles.

Her mother was laying in bed, and the foal was in a fancy crib. The soft snoring of her mother calmed Celestia. Then, she heard her sister's cooing.

"Galaxia, Celestia's here." Her father whispered to her mother.

"Thank you for letting me know, Soloris. Handkerchief, let Celestia hold Luna," Her mother told the maidservant.

Celestia was given a tiny, blue filly. She was an alicorn, like herself. She had a blue mane and tail, but not as dark as their father's. Luna put Celestia's pink and turquoise hair into her mouth.

"EEEWWW! MOMMY!!" Celestia screamed, quite disturbed. Handkerchief took the foal and Celestia ran to her mother.

"Calm down, Tia. That's just what foals do. She'll grow out of it." Queen Galaxia soothed.

"Come on, Tia! The announcement is about to start. Soon, Father and Mother and Sunset are going to war. Do you want to say 'goodbye'?" Five-year-old Luna asked while knocking on Celestia's door.

"I'm coming!" Celestia called. Luna kept on knocking. Celestia put on a lavender and yellow dress, looked herself over, and trotted out the door, having Luna follow her into the hallway.

"Are you excited?" Luna asked.

"Excited about what?"

"You're going to be in charge of the kingdom while Mother, Father, and Sunset are gone."

"I'm not really excited because I'm going to miss them. And they make babysitting an entire kingdom look easy. Babysitting you is hard enough."

Luna giggled, "I do make things interesting."

Celestia giggled with her, "Oh, Luna, I know that's true."

"Sunset Glare!" Celestia called as she ran to her brother.

"Celestia, come on, the announcement is about to start." Sunset Glare let his young twins, Cadance and Blueblood, jump onto his back.

Celestia watched as the announcement flew by. The way Solaris looked so sullen pushed on her heart. He was nervous about going.

She watched as her parents and brother went to war. The teary goodbyes didn't seem that sad at first, but as the weeks flew by, she started to understand. She watched her sister, Sunset's two children, and herself grow five years older.

And when the war ended, not a lot was left.

"Daddy!" Luna and Celestia screamed as they ran to Solaris, who was stranded in the middle of an empty battlefield. He was wounded fatally, and he was ill.

"Girls, they beheaded your mother and brother," He said through teeth covered with blood. Celestia and Luna cried more. "Take Blueblood and Cadance and take back our kingdom. You two are the expected queens. I love you so much, but my end has come."

"No, Daddy! Don't leave us!" Celestia cried while Luna hugged her father. Celestia and Luna watched as his life faded away, and for a while, they considered it the saddest day of their lives.

Celestia, who was fifteen (the age where an alicorn's age starts growing more lengthy), did as her now-dead father told her to do. She adopted Blueblood and Cadance, and took them and Luna to the forest.

"Do you think we'll survive?" Luna asked as they trotted through the dark forest.

They heard owls and saw a few bats fly by. Celestia was pretty sure she saw rats crawl near her hooves.

"As long as we have confidence that we're going to complete our mission, we'll be fine," Celestia whispered with a shaky voice as she carried Cadance and Blueblood on her back. Their snores made her decide to fall asleep, and there the royal children spent the night.
