Before her reformation by the Elements of Harmony, everyone at Canterlot High knew her as one of the most feared, powerful, and the only school bully to ever walk campus. She seemed to have every single student down to their knees in order to avoid her wrath. It's as if there was no sign of mercy, or even a clean soul inhabiting her body. However, no one ever knew what she was like before even becoming their feared ruler.

From her own perspective, Sunset Shimmer tells us of how she struggled to adapt living in the human world after abandoning everything she had known about life back in Equestria. For her, life was a living hell--even when she evolved into a bully. She even choose to ignore the imminently growing dark energy that was slowly beginning to overwhelm her.

This is from her own experience of how she emerged, rose, and fell before finding the strength from friendship to better herself, and what life is like for her now after the events of the Battle of the Bands.
