The Tale of Two Ponies
Chapter 1
Fluttershy walked slowly down the trails to Applejack's farm; She was coming to help her country friend get rid of a little bunny problem. Of course, she wouldn't hurt the animals- no, she'd never dream of doing such a thing. She'd merely take the tiny creatures to her house and let them in the wild there.
It was a beautiful day indeed; The sun was shining long beams of sunlight on her pelt, the wind was ruffling her mane slightly, and the ground was soft and smelled earthy. She trotted along happily, and let out a note of happiness.
"Oh, what a beautiful morning~" She sang prettily, eyes closed, "The sun is shining, breeze blowing, ground soft and earthy~ And~ If I may, my thoughts start to stray~ And I might stumble~ A tiny fumble~ Apon the one, whose right for me~" She finished her melody happily, a smile on her face.
She opened her eyes, but not before she bumped into something large.
"Owwie!" She let out a tiny gasp, rubbing her head, inwardly scolding herself for not paying attention and stumbling clumsily into a tree.
"I'm such a clutz..." She murmured to herself.
"Are you okay?" A deep voice asked, and she looked up with a tiny 'eep'.
"Oh! Oh, yes!" She squeaked. She looked up at the large crimson red pony with a straw-colored mane. A piece of straw was dangling lazily from his mouth, and he wore a large yolk around his neck. His jade-green eyes were narrowed with concern, and his gold-tipped hooves were pawing anxiously at the ground. A small smattering of freckles dotted his red cheeks. He extended one paw out to her, which she eyed uncertainly before grasping.
He pulled her up slowly, and she felt a warm blush spreading across her face as she unsteadily stood on her hooves again.
"Thank you..." She said quietly, not quite looking him in the eyes.
"No problem; Sorry for knocking you down." He said simply, his green eyes drifting across her face slowly. Fluttershy's face heated up as she guessed he was judging her.
"Well, I ought to be going." Excusing herself early wasn't something Fluttershy did normally, but she felt the circumstances would allow it.
"I oughta be on mah way mahself." He said, his country accent prevalent.
"Okay then. Thank you again." She said softly, thinking that, as to make up for being rude, she should thank him once more.
"Eeyup." He smiled suddenly at her, the corners of his mouth pushing up slightly.
She let out a tiny squeak, then a partially forced smile graced her face. Then, she spread her wings and flew off, opting to fly because it was faster.
She flew at breakneck speed until the farmer was out of sight, then landed softly at the gate of Applejack's farm. She let out a tiny sigh and ventured in.
