Dear diary,

This is so silly.  Princes Celestia bought me a massive journal for my tenth jubilee.  I have no idea why, to be honest.  I asked her if she ever had a journal and she just smiled at me with one of 'those' looks.  Those 'I know and I'm not telling' looks.  Yes, Princ Celestia, I've finally found some of your tells as well.  What am I going to write in this though?  We have court records, I have research notes and even an astronomy journal.  I doubt future researchers are going to be hoofing through my old diaries.  And if they are, the way this diary is starting I wouldn't blame them for throwing it away in disgust.  Though Starswil—  Note: Need to get more quills.  Though Starswirls oio`

Well, this is the start of a wonderful relationship.  I've read so many books, journals, notes, logs and almost everything else under the sun and now that I have something to write in I find myself unable to form a coherent theme.
