Every so often I dream a strange dream. I'm at this place... it's hard to describe. The light doesn't shine here, it doesn't shine at all. The floor below is cold and I feel it, even through my hooves. As I stalk out into the darkness I feel a soft breeze. It's not gentle like the night breeze of Crystal Empire. It's not refreshing like the stiff breeze of Canterlot. It is a cold and dead and silent breeze.

Even though there is sound, it only makes me feel more alone. The soft clop of my hooves echo out into the darkness and I feel like there is an endless expanse. Yet I still walk forward.

I'm cold. I'm tired. But I keep going on.

Sometimes I see a brief flicker of light. In joy I surge forward only to see it disappear. A sob chokes in my throat but I still keep running. My muscles stiffen and burn with exhaustion but I ignore it and head towards that feeble source of light.

Then it is gone. I never reach it. I am alone again.

I call out into the void. I desperately call out for somepony, anypony to hear me!

There is nothing but blackness and darkness. It is like I am separated by an insurmountable barrier. I could never reach that light, no matter how hard I try.

When I wake up, I'm in a daze. The comfort of others is distant and cold. I feel complicated and torn. Nothing alleviates this suffering, save for time.

I wonder sometimes... Is there somepony out there, calling for me?
