Sunset's Birthday - Day 2, Part 4

>Brad and Sunset drove off to Brad's house.

>It looked like their band was going to practice.

>Brad opened the door for her and held an umbrella for her.

>What a gentleman.

>Brad and Sunset got into the house.

>"Heeey, Brad! So you got her again?"

>Sunset sighed softly.

>"Hey, not so loud, man. She's still very upset over Anon. Maybe listening to us jam might help her out."

>The other nodded.

>Brad picked up his guitar.

>"One, two, three."

>They began to play. They were getting really good.

>Sunset sighed softly. She sort of sat there and listened.

>At least she was dry.

>"All right, girls. if we're gunna get this project done, we gotta work as a team."

>Typical Applejack, always trying to unify them.

>"But what's the point? Not like we'll get the highest mark. Others are waaay better than us."

>"Yeah, that may be so, but we still have to try!"

>Rainbow rolled her eyes.

>"Fine, miss goodie-two-shoes."

>It seemed as though the girls were working on some sort of project for a class. Or rather, a bunch of projects.

>All but Rarity.

>Rarity sat off to the side, biting her lower lip in worry.

>"Rarity? Somethin' on yer mind?"

>She didn't respond. She kept idly staring out at the rain.

>Applejack snapped her fingers in Rarity's ear.

>Rarity jumped before looking at them.

>"O-oh my. I must have spaced out. What were we talking about again?"

>"Geez Rarity. You've been spacing out all afternoon. Ever since we talked to Sunset you've been... Off."

>She looked down at her phone.

>"I've been worried about her. Something just... Doesn't feel right. Like something happened."

>Fluttershy took a seat next to her. Since they were in her house, Angel sat on her head.

>"Oh, I'm sure she's fine... Why not give her a call?"

>"That sounds like a darn good idea."

>"Hey, can we get pizza too--"

>"NO!"

>Rainbow pouted a bit.

>"I was only asking..."

>Sunset's phone rang.

>Sunset looked at her phone.

>Rarity's number came up...

>Brad and his crew were too busy playing to hear her phone ring.

>Sunset went into another room and answered the phone.

"H-Hello?"

>"Oh, Sunset.. How are you doing? I've been worried sick about you. You aren't in the rain still, are you?"

"Oh, Rarity uh... No, no I'm not. I'm fine."

>"Well, that's good to hear... Speaking of hearing, what is that sound?"

>Rarity strained her ears to listen.

>"Is... Is that Brad's band? What are you doing there?"

>Oh shit, you've been figured out, Sunset. Quick, make something up!

"Oh, I'm just listening to a CD I got from Brad, that's all.. Hey, listen. I'm... Kind of busy. I'll talk to you later"

>Sunset hangs up the phone.

>Close call, Sunset.

>Rarity hung up on the phone call before putting her phone into her purse.

>"Well, how did it go? Any news?"

>"She seemed... Off, still. And it sounded like she was at Brad's."

>The girls gasped.

>"Brad? I thought she was done with that guy!"

>Rarity shook her head.

>"Must not be if she's there again... Or something else happened."

>You lay in your bed.

>You know you shouldn't have any, but your stomach kept begging for some good food.

>Jesus, this hospital food.. You swear, if it was any worse, that sludge would come alive and eat you instead.

>Cracking open the case, you take one out and sniff it.

>Oh sweet fucking Jesus, yes. That amazing, sugary aroma of a freshly baked cupcake...

>You begin to eat it.

>It takes merely a moment before the first one is finished.

>Your stomach felt good for eating something with taste, but you had a bad feeling in your gut.

>Something must have happened.

>You just wish that you could do something.

>The phone next to you begins to ring.

>>2014867520148675 (You)

>You pick up the phone.

"Hello?"

>"Anon, it's Rarity... Do you have a minute?"

>You roll your eyes.

>"Ignore that question. Listen, it's about Sunset."

>You swear, your stomach just started to do some flips as soon as she brought up Sunset.

>Still, you try to play it off.

"Yeah? What about her?"

>You hear a deep sigh from the other side of the phone line.

"WHAT!?"

>You swear, if you shouted any louder, all of the medical staff in the building would run to you.

>"That about sums it up. We're pretty sure she's over at Brad's..."

>Brad. That fucking Brad. He always was a no good little...

>"Anon, listen. We'll handle this. You should just stay there."

>"Yeah, there's no use in you getting hurt again."

"...You've got me on speaker phone, don't you?"

>"Yep."

>"Pretty much."

>"Howdy, Anon!"

>You facepalm, nearly dropping the phone.

>"Sorry darling... I think everyone needed to hear your thoughts on it."

>My thoughts? How about seeing the back end of my--

>You sigh softly.

"...I don't like how this sounds. It is just very... Wrong."

>"Will you at least leave it to us?"

>You tap the side of the bed with your good hand.

"Fine. Just... Don't mess anything up."

>Both parties hang up.

>Like hell you were going to just sit there while Brad kept her there.

>You swing your legs out of the bed.

>At least you can still walk.

>You toss on your jacket and run out of your room, peeling down the hall.

>Hold on Sunset, Anon's coming.

>Rarity put her phone away.

>"Looks like it's time to go, girls. Brad can't be allowed to do this... Not when Anon did all that just for us, and more specifically her."

>They all nod in agreement.

>"Yeah, once we find him, I'm going to kick his butt so hard he wish he would never have been born!"

>They get their own jackets and umbrellas before getting into the two cars parked out front and taking off to Brad's.

>>2014902720149027 (You)

>Sunset tapped her leg in a bored fashion.

>She couldn't stop thinking about how you must be feeling.

>Alone, bored, in pain...

>It looked like the band was taking a break.

>Brad took a seat next to Sunset.

>"You look like you've got something on your mind."

>"No, I... I'm fine."

>Her reached around her just to have her push away.

>"Come on, Sunset. Let's at least talk about it."

>Sunset crossed her arms and looked outside.

>"I just... Don't feel right sitting here."

>Your plan is working, Brad. Keep going.

>Brad walked up behind her. He could see both of their reflections in the glass.

>"It's Anon, isn't it? Why not just forget about him? It's not like he's done anything for you."

>Sunset looked at his reflection with some anger.

>"He's done more than you have!"

>Turning around to face him, Sunset dropped her guard upon seeing his smile.

>"Hey, let's just calm down now. We can just talk this out."

>She stomped her foot down before crying a bit more.

>"I... I feel just terrible for leaving him like I did..!"

>Brad pulled her into a soft hug.

>"I know... It'll be okay."

>The two cars the girls were in pulled up at Brad's house.

>They poured out of them and barged into Brad's house, going downstairs to where they practiced.

>"Alright, where is he!? Let me at him!"

>Rainbow Dash looked ready to kill a bitch.

>"That no good, double-crossing traitor has to be around here somewhere."

>Rarity scanned the room before noticing Brad at the far end, his hair barely poking out around the corner of a support beam.

>"There's the Ruffian!"

>The group ran down toward him but stopped, ready to strike when they saw Sunset crying into his chest.

>They turned to look at them.

>"Oh, hi girls. How can I help you?"

>Brad, you sly fox.

>>2014928120149281 (You)

>Rainbow jumped forward, grabbing onto Brad's collar with one hand.

>The other hand was about ready to punch his pretty little face in.

>Sunset fell to the floor, now beginning to panic.

>"Okay, pretty boy. Time to fess up! What's your damage with Anon!?"

>Brad looked a bit worried, having all those angry girls around him.

>Rainbow Dash pulled him closer.

>"Woah woah woah, calm down. Just... Let's just calm down and talk!"

>Applejack shook her head.

>"Sorry, partner. You goofed up big time on this one. Ah don't think yer gettin' out of this one."

>"Girls, please. Just listen, you have this all wrong!"

>Abruptly, you storm into the house.

"Alright Brad, where are you, you little shit!?"

>"Anon? Is that you?"

>That was sunset's voice.

>You go downstairs, totally drenched from the rain and exhausted from the run.

>The crowd looks at you.

>Sunset gets up off of the floor and runs at you. Without warning, she jumps at you and spins around with you in a hug, just like you two did back on her birthday.

>She looks like she was crying quite a bit.

>"Anon? Shouldn't you still be in the hospital?"

>Brad tried to move.

>Rainbow's attention snapped back to him.

>"Don't even THINK about it, bucko."

>You smile softly.

"I couldn't just sit by while Brad took Sunset from me. I just couldn't."

>"But darling, your shoulder it..."

"It's fine."

>Rarity was right, your shoulder really wasn't ready for something like this. It was already bleeding pretty bad again...

>You hold Sunset with your good arm.

>"Oh Anon... I... I'm so sorry! I should have never left you..."

>You rest your head on her.

"..It's okay, my little ray of Sun. All that matters now is that you're here."

>The crowd gave off an "Aww" again.

>Brad stood himself up.

>"Looks like my plan worked."

>Everyone looked at him.

>"Plan!? What plan?"

>>2014971320149713 (You)

Such sassy Anons! Spicy!

>Brad sat down on a wooden chair. Everyone else sat on the couches around him, watching him.

>"Now, what the hay are you going on about? What plan?"

>Brad laughs and sits in a more relaxed position.

>"Unlike you guys... I knew Sunset. Like, I actually knew her."

>Sunset held onto you silently. She sniffled from time to time.

>"What makes you say that?"

>He rolls his eyes.

>"I dated her, you know. Even if I was just being used for... Popularity."

>They all look at one another.

>"So, I had this idea. Why not fake that Anon didn't care for her anymore to really test her limits. Push her to cast doubt away from herself and go see him."

"So, you lied to her?"

>"Not... Exactly. I just bent the truth a little. Told her how you didn't talk about her much, and how you didn't like hearing about how she was."

>You flinch a bit. Brad, you are one seriously messed up asshole.

>"So, I let her dry off, and come back to my place to keep her warm for a bit. Coaxed her a little, and when the bait was taken, you guys ended up showing up."

>Applejack seemed rather skeptical.

>"Ah don't know if yer tellin' the whole truth... We all know y'all were an item not too long ago, so you wanting to take her back is a legit suspicion."

>He put his hands into the air.

>"I'm not Trixie. You see any tricks up my sleeves? I just wanted to help the both of them out, by using reverse psychology on Sunset."

>Sunset looked down with a soft blush. She couldn't believe she fell for his trick.

>"And besides... I... already have my eye on someone else."

>Pinkie Pie hopped up.

>"You mean Twilight, right? It's Twilight? Sooo Twilight. Gotta be her!"

>Brad blushed softly and scratched the back of his head quietly.

>You could even tell it was Twilight. That strange girl...

>Everyone looked at Sunset Shimmer.

>"Is what he said true, darling?"

>She nods slowly. "Yeah... Pretty much.."

>"Well, if he is saying the truth.. I suppose that we could let him off the hook for now..."

>>2015008820150088 (You)

Oh look, I dubb'd on this one. Woop woop.

>>2015015520150155

Nice dubs, m8.

>You flinch as your shoulder starts to flare in pain once more.

>It definitely feels like the stitches tore open, as there isn't just water down your arm now...

>Sunsets holds onto you as you hold your shoulder, trying to stop the bleeding.

>Everyone turns to you.

>"ANON!"

>"Are you alright darling? Did you hurt your shoulder?"

>Sunset can barely see under the jacket.

>"Guys, it looks like he's bleeding again."

>The girls start to panic.

>Brad stood up.

>"Here, let me take him in. It's my fault he got out in the first place."

>"Are you kidding? You're the... Actually, yeah. You are the reason he's hurt again."

>Rainbow looked a bit confused.

>Brad put his jacket on before addressing his friends.

>"You guys go on ahead. Practice will be postponed until tomorrow."

>They shrug and do their own thing.

>Brad helps you up, but Sunset weighs you down.

>"If Anon's going, then I'm going with him."

>AJ put a hand on her shoulder.

>"But Sunset, ya can't... He has ta go into the surgical room fer those stitches.."

>She shook her head. Sunset was adamant about this one.

>"No... I will stay there with him. I'm not going to leave him on his own like I did last time."

>AJ took her hand off of Sunset's shoulder quietly.

>"Well, if ya feel that strongly about it... Go ahead."

>The rest of them nod.

>Sunset and Brad help you into his car and take you to the hospital once more.

>Sunset paced back and forth outside of the operating room. She was very nervous.

>Brad sat in a chair in the hallway too. He felt bad for what he did, but at least took the time to wait with Sunset.

>"Oh, I hope this won't set him back too far.. Poor Anon..."

>>2015043520150435 (You)

>It took a good hour for those doctors to fix up your arm.

>This time, they actually put the non-stitched area of your lower forearm and below into a cast.

>Being wheeled out, Sunset and Brad both stand off to the side.

>"Will he be okay, doctor?"

>"Yes, yes. Though he REALLY needs to let that arm heal. Whatever he did this time... It moved many bones out of place and tore some of the newly grown flesh apart. He might not be so lucky next time."

>Sunset looked down, feeling completely guilty.

>Brad put him arm around her shoulder to comfort her.

>"Come on, I'm sure Anon will wake up any time now. We should be in there when he does."

>Sunset nodded.

>Surprisingly, you must have been extremely exhausted.

>You didn't wake up for at least a few hours.

>Stirring a bit, you sit up against your pillow before looking at your arm.

"Damn... Must have really fucked something up if I'm in a cast..."

>You look around you.

>Brad is sleeping on one of the chairs in the room, and Sunset was resting her head on your legs.

>They must have been there, waiting for you to wake up.

>You gently nudge Sunset by moving your leg.

>She stirs slightly before yawning and sitting up.

>"Mmg... What time is it?"

>Her adorable half-asleepness made you smile softly.

>Even Brad woke up from that.

>Sunset leaned over and hugged you.

>"How are you feeling, champ?"

"Aside from having a rock on my arm, I don't feel too bad."

>It was true, you really didn't feel much. Just the weight of the cast on your arm.

>"Oh, I'm glad you're okay, Nonny... I was so worried."

>You lift up your good arm and pull her onto the bed, and into a snuggle with it.

>That was the first time she ever called you "Nonny." Hell, it was the first nickname you ever got from her.

>"Good. Doc says that you need to keep it easy from now on, or your arm will be messed up permanently."

>You kept looking down as Sunset.

>You didn't care that your arm was messed up, or that Brad pulled that stupid stunt.

>>2015096220150962 (You)

>You reach over to the case of cupcakes and take one out.

"Are you hungry?"

>Sunset nods slightly, her stomach growling in agreement.

>You hold the Cupcake up for her as she takes a bite.

>A little bit of pink frosting got on her nose. She didn't seem to mind as she smiled softly, eating the cupcake bit by bit.

>It was one hell of a bumpy ride, but you're glad that you put yourself on the line twice for Sunset.

>You were glad you could hold her again.

>You were happy that you could snuggle her.

>Looking over next to the cupcakes, you see the damage necklace.

>Once you were out of the hospital, would you ever have a surprise for her... Next Chapter: Sunset's Birthday - Day 3 Estimated time remaining: 1 Hour, 20 Minutes
