A blur of grey-blue hide and golden hair sped past a walking brown pony with a distinctive sand-timer Cutie Mark and straight into a large blue and gold club-like building with the words White Dwarf Detective Agency in big rainbow-colored letters, each letter painted three different colors.
The brown pony smiled and shook his head slightly as she sped past him. He trotted over to the door and was just about to enter when a crash came from inside the building. The stallion ran the rest of the way into the building and into a nicely furnished entry room.
"Derpy, are you okay?" He asked as he saw a few strands of golden hair coming out from underneath a fallen bookcase. Books were strewn out all along the floor.
A muffled reply came from underneath the bookcase and a few moments later Derpy pushed the bookcase off of her and stood up.
"Don't worry Doctor, I'm alright!" She exclaimed and shook her head, rearranging her hair back into place while doing so. "I keep telling you, You need to stop worrying so much about me! I think I can handle myself."
"Normally I'd believe you, but lately you've been crashing around more than usual." the Doctor explained. "Anyhoof, let's go up to the lounge."
The two walked up the stairs and opened the carefully sealed door at the top. Once the sound-proof door was opened loud techno-rock music assaulted the two's ears. Immediately Derpy started bouncing slightly on her hooves, she never was one to resist a good beat.
"We're here, everypony!" She exclaimed as she entered the room.
"Oh, hey Derpy. Doctor." Flashing Star said and nodded to the two. She was lounging on a couch next to the sleeping form of Rainbow Dash.
The lounge itself was, as Flash always put it, all chromed out. It was very futuristic-looking, like many of the rooms were in the 980's, so it was like a blast to the past for the ponies who had been around back then, or at least old enough to remember most of the stuff then.
"Hey, Flash. Uh... what's wrong with Rainbow?" Derpy asked, eyeing the twitching sleeping pony on the couch next to Flash.
"Oh, her? She's just a bit tired from the 'Intense Exercise Training Course for the Physical Upkeep of Pegasi Bodies' of hers that she spent all morning working on." Flash replied.
"Oh just a bit?" The Doctor said and smiled.
Flashing Star was a dark blue pony with a green mane and tail, and light red eyes, with a pair of crimson headphones with black wings coming from the sides of them for her Cutie Mark.
Vinyl Scratch, known publicly as DJ Pon-3, had just noticed that Derpy and the Doctor were actually there. She pulled down her goggles from her eyes and looked over to them. "Hey guys. Where were you, we've been waiting for hours! At least I have anyways." She said.
"Derpy was busy making a batch of oatmeal muffins, so we had to wait around for them to finish. The good thing is, we now have muffins again." The Doctor explained.
"Of course! I should have known... You two are always late because of muffins." Vinyl said and rolled her eyes. She had a smile on her face, though, so it was obvious she wasn't mad. It was pretty hard not to be smiling when muffins were involved.
"Speaking of baked stuff where is Pinkie?" Derpy asked Vinyl.
"Well, she was here a while ago, but she got a bit bored waiting so she went down to the basement to root around in the holiday stuff we keep down there." Vinyl explained.
"Strange. Why would Pinkie be in the basement looking at decorations? It's not close to any holiday I know of..." The Doctor said. "I'll go down and check what exactly she's doing."
"Alright, you do that while we try to wake up Rainbow." Derpy said.
"Alright." The Doctor walked back to the soundproof door, opened it, and walked down the stairs.
At the bottom of the stair he head some thumps from under the floor in the basement. "I wonder what is exactly going on down there. Why so many thumps..." The Doctor muttered. He continued to the trapdoor that led to the basement, which he opened. It was pitch black down there, except for a small amount of light coming from further in.
The Doctor walked down the stone stairs that led into the basement. As he stepped off the last step he heard faint music from deeper within.
The basement was more like a system of large caves and tunnels than an actual basement. There were piles of boxes filled with stuff that nopony had looked at since White Dwarf started. It reminded The Doctor of the new Torchwood base back in his universe. This was mainly because of the abundance of intergalactic and historical weapons down there.
As The Doctor continued walking the music got louder and louder. Over the music he could here sawing, pounding of nails, and low humming.
"Pinkie Pie? Is that you?!" The Doctor yelled over the noise.
The answer he got was a blur of pink and the next thing he knew he was on the ground, Pinkie Pie standing over him. "Hey, Doctor! When did you get here?" She asked with a smile.
"Just a few minutes ago. Can you let me up?" The Doctor asked.
"Oh yeah, sure, sorry." Pinkie said and backed up, letting him up.
"So... what are you working on?" The Doctor asked and tried to look past Pinkie. She immediatly stepped in front of him so he couldn't see. "Sorry Doctor, not for you to see. Not right now, anyways." She said.
The Doctor looked at Pinkie for a moment, then feinted to the left and then went past her to the right.
"Doctor!" Pinkie said.
"Wow, Pinkie... How long were you working on this?" The Doctor asked as he took everything in. What he saw was... a half completed bakery. "Pinkie... what are you thinking? Making a bakery in the basement?"
"In answer to your first question... three days. I was thinking that I would be able to bake stuff all the time! Plus Derpy could bake here too!" Pinkie explained.
"Well... Okay... Anyhoof... We should go back upstairs with the rest of our team." The Doctor said and turned around to walk back.
"Okay!" Pinkie exclaimed and bounced after The Doctor.

The Doctor and Pinkie arrived back in the sound-proof lounge-room in a few minutes time.
"So, what was going on down there?" Vinyl asked.
"Pinkie, was-" The Doctor began to say.
"Building a bakery!" Pinkie interupted him.
Vinyl's hoof slipped from the turntable with a screech, destroying the vinyl on the record she was spinning. "What?!" She exclaimed.
"Building a bakery!" Pinkie replied with a smile.
"Yeah, but in the basement?" Vinyl asked, amazed and more than a bit confused.
"Yeah. So then anyone could bake!" Pinkie said. "It's better than the other idea I had. That was just silly."
"Aaaannnyyyhhhooooffff... I'm going to go redo the vinyl on this record..." Vinyl said and trailed off. She walked out of the room and down the stairs.
"Well, anyhoof we have no idea what to do and we have no jobs." The Doctor said.
"Cupcakes, anyone?" Pinkie asked.
Rainbow Dash woke up just then with a jump. She looked around, slightly spooked, but then calmed down. For some reason Pinkie saying 'Cupcakes, anyone?' penetrated her sleeping mind and spooked her enough to be awoken. "What, huh?" She said when she awoke. "Oh... How long was I out, Flash?"
"Oh, about... four and a half hours." Flashing Star replied.
"WHAT?!" Rainbow exclaimed. "Why in Equestria would you let me sleep that long in the day-time!?"
"You just looked so peaceful." Flash replied, holding back a chuckle.
"Oh, yeah, sure." Rainbow muttered and flipped herself to a regular sitting position. "Hey Doctor, Hey Pinkie."
"Hey Dashie! Glad your up! Want a cupcake?" Pinkie asked.
"Uh... As long as it doesn't have any hot sauce on it." Rainbow replied.
"Of course, silly!" Pinkie said and produced a cupcake from nowhere and handed it to Rainbow.

Vinyl was downstairs searching for her record-repair kit, when she heard a knocking on the front door. She walked over and unlocked it. When she opened it up she peeked out and was face-to-face with a Canterlot Guard. She screamed and jumped back.
Upstairs the others heard the scream and rushed out. When they got downstairs they saw Vinyl trying to calm herself down. Inside with her was six Canterlot Guards and... Princess Celestia.
One by one the ponies bowed to the Princess.
"No need to bow, my little ponies. I have a very important job for you to do."
