The human and the three ponies walked as the sun began to fall. Kye had been expecting it this time, but the sudden absence of light still freaked him out. Lyra gave his hand a reassuring nip with her teeth and smiled up at him in the moonlight now flooding the street.

Applejack had finished work and came by to invite them out for a drink, so Kye was surprised when they stopped at what looked like a bakery. It had the bizarre appearance of a gingerbread house, the roof outlined with something that looked like frosting.

Lyra opened the door with her magic and Kye was instantly blasted with a large amount of confetti, a loud party horn rattling his eardrums. Several ponies yelled, “Surprise!” and something pink launched itself at him, latching onto him and nearly bowling him over. He would have fallen on his ass if Lyra hadn't caught them in a levitation field.

“Hi! I’m Pinkie Pie, and I threw this party just for you! Were you surprised? Were you? Were you? Huh? Huh? Huh!?”

The pink pony released him from the hug and began to bounce up into the air around him.

“I heard there was somepony new in town but I was away in Fillydelphia throwing another party but I came back so I could throw this party then somepony told me that the somepony new wasn't a pony at all and I was like huuhhh? So I thought I’d make it an extra special party ‘cause you might have trouble making new friends ‘cause you’re not a pony so I told everypony to be here so they can all be your friends and I Pinkie promise it’ll be fun fun fun there's music and cakes and punch and cider and balloons and party hats and-”

Applejack shoved a hoof in the pink pony’s mouth. She’d been talking so fast Kye had barely caught half of what she said. She seemed to have so much energy that he wouldn't have been surprised if she suddenly exploded... twice.

She was bright pink with blue eyes, with a bouncy pink mane and tail and had three balloons—two blue and one yellow—for a cutie mark.

“Now you just calm yerself, Pinkie.”

Applejack removed her hoof. Pinkie Pie immediately started talking again.

“Welcome to Sugarcube Corner! Come on in and meet everypony.” She bounced into the bakery.

As soon as Kye set foot into the room, a bass drop of the most epic proportions tore through the air. It was so good he had to stop and just listen. He’d always loved dubstep, but this shit was like it had to be coming from somewhere else.

Then the cello joined in. Kye had no idea how the combination of dubstep and classical worked, but it did: the music got even better. He looked around for the source of the awesome filling the room and his eyes settled on a DJ booth between two huge magical speakers, a pretty white unicorn wearing purple shades with a radical spiky blue mane spinning discs behind it.

A beautiful grey Earth pony with a black mane and tail and was playing the cello (with her frickin’ hooves!) next to the booth. She wore a little pink bow tie around her neck. Kye noted that it was odd that she had a treble clef for a cutie mark, yet she was playing a bass instrument.

She smiled at him from across the room, her lavender eyes seeming to bore into his soul. She then started to sing, an ethereal tone that intertwined perfectly with the epic drops the unicorn was blasting from the decks. He had to force himself to look away, as she had instantly mesmerised him.

He looked around the rest of the room. It was full of ponies dancing and laughing together, some of which he recognised. He could see Rarity and Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. Pinkie Pie began introducing him to some of the ponies he didn't know.

A large red Earth pony stallion wearing a brown yoke, with an orange mane and tail and a green apple cutie mark turned out to be Applejack's brother, Big Macintosh. He was just as friendly as his sister, though he didn’t say much.

A grey pegasus mare with a blonde mane and tail and bubbles for a cutie mark was eating a muffin when Pinkie introduced her as Derpy Hooves. As she smiled at him, her eyes seemed to gaze in different directions from each other. Kye felt an odd wave of compassion and admiration for the cute little pegasus.

“And this is Spike,” Pinkie said, gesturing to a small purple dragon.

Wait...Yes, she was actually introducing him to a frickin’ dragon! He was small and purple with green scales and catlike eyes—also green. Kye hadn't believed Lyra when she’d mentioned him, but the proof was currently gazing up at him.

“Hi, I’m Spike. Nice to meet you,” the little guy said.

“Erm, Hi…” Kye didn't really know what to say, he tried to think of something but Pinkie Pie quickly dragged him along to somepony else.

The energetic Earth pony introduced him to several others, all of whom were friendly—some of whom even gave him hugs or affectionate little nuzzles. It freaked him out a little at first, but Kye guessed this was the norm because nopony batted an eyelid—from what he had observed, ponies were very social creatures and frequent physical contact was widely accepted.

Lyra caught him looking at the cellist a few times. He’d tried to refrain from doing so, but there was something about the grey mare that kept drawing his attention. He thought his new marefriend (he guessed that it was probably official now) would have been angry at him for stealing glances at the pretty Earth pony, but Lyra merely smiled at him.

“So Kye, how fast does your crazy contraption go?” Rainbow Dash asked him before taking a gulp of cider.

They were sitting at a long wooden table. Lyra was leaning on him slightly: she’d drank a considerable amount more cider than she had the previous night. Rarity was on his other side, gracefully sipping a cocktail of some sort. She appeared to be the only pony that had bothered to dress up for the occasion. She was wearing an elegant blue gown with a sparkling diamond tiara and looked positively gorgeous. Rainbow was sitting across from them next to Scootaloo, who was buzzing her little wings and looking at Kye with anticipation.

“Around about two hundred and twenty something or other. I've never had the guts to check,” he told the cyan pegasus.

She frowned slightly. “That’s it?”

Kye was confused, and a little insulted. “Well, how fast can you fly?”

“About seven fifty, seven sixty knots above ten thousand feet.”

“Bullshit, that's well into supersonic range. You’d be torn to pieces.”

The multi-colored pegasus laughed. “You think unicorns are the only ponies with magic?”

“Don't listen to her darling—going as fast as you do at ground level without the aid of any magic at all is quite an achievement in itself,” Rarity said, nuzzling his shoulder.

Kye smiled at her before Pinkie Pie suddenly squeezed herself in between them, Rarity looked rather annoyed at the Earth pony for a few seconds, but quickly composed herself.

“Everypony having fun? Huh? Huh? Huh?” the party pony asked.

Kye had gotten over her overwhelming presence and actually found her to be quite the barrel of laughs. She certainly knew how to lift everypony’s spirits.

“Yea, Pinkie. Thanks for throwing this awesome party; you definitely guessed my favourite music.”

“Well, duhhh! Everypony I know loves wubz, and now every human I know does, too!”

She gave him a quick hug, then spotted Applejack with a blindfold on and a fake tail in her mouth next to a poster of a pony on the wall, looking a little dizzy. Bon Bon and Fluttershy were giggling at the farm pony.

“Ooh, pin the tail on the pony!” Pinkie said in a high tone before jumping up and bouncing towards them.

Twilight trotted over and sat next to Lyra, who seemed to have a little trouble focusing on the lavender unicorn.

“You were extremely lucky today—if you’d hit Coco just a couple of inches to the right, she’d be dead and you might have been facing possible banishment.”

“I know,” Lyra sighed.

“Banishment?” Kye repeated with a confused look.

Rarity explained, “There are parts of Equestria that are mostly unexplored, vast areas of dangerous wilderness often inhabited by foul creatures. If a pony does something really awful, then they’re banished by an alicorn princess. Nopony ever comes back after being banished.”

“So they’re just left to die?!” Kye was shocked at the crude justice system. He would have thought a land full of colourful ponies would have had a less brutal way to deal with criminals.

“You have to bear in mind, exile to the wilderness is reserved for the very worst of crimes—murder, rape, attempted high treason, and so forth. Only ponies who truly deserve it get banished,” Twilight told him.

He gave Lyra a tight squeeze. “Don’t go killing anypony. I wouldn't want to have to search the wilderness for you,” he cooed at the unicorn.

Twilight snorted. “Banishment wouldn't be a death sentence for Lyra—she could kill a fully grown dragon with a single blast if she put enough power behind it. The problem would be loneliness; plus, she has plenty of friends in Ponyville and none of us want to lose her.”

Twilight had seemed to be talking more to Lyra by the time she’d finished speaking. The turquoise unicorn nodded. The song playing ended, and the ponies showed their appreciation by stomping their front hooves as the DJ unicorn spoke to the small crowd.

“Alright, everypony! Me and Tavi are gonna take a quick break before starting the second set, so don't y’all go nowhere just yet.”

Her horn flashed, and some quiet background music started playing as the cellist came and sat at the table next to Rainbow Dash. She smiled at Kye, making him blush slightly. Rarity seemed to lose her composure a little and glared at the Earth pony, but the cellist was now looking at the turquoise unicorn leaning next to him.

Lyra started giggling. Kye had a feeling she was rather tipsy—he was having to hold an arm around her to keep her from falling off the bench.

“Err, you okay Lyra?” he asked her, sweeping her mane out of her eyes with a hand.

“Yea, ‘course.”

She kissed him. Kye was surprised—he hadn't expected it in such a crowded room. Not that he minded, of course. She then turned to the cellist.

“Another captivating performance as usual, Octavia. You and Vinyl make quite the ensemble.”

“Well we do try.” The Earth pony spoke in a very British accent, catalysing an influx of memories of his home nation. He couldn't help but like her.

“Not only do you steal the attentions of my audiences, you've made quite an impression on my stallion.”

Kye tensed up slightly, but Lyra hadn't spoken in malice. If anything, she was smiling at the pretty Earth pony with an air of affection.

“Please, as if I could compare to a grandmaster of annihilation and a prodigy of the lyre.”

“Ahh Tavi, you’re too kind.”

The cellist smiled at the unicorn. “So...seeing as the circumstances have changed somewhat-”

The pretty Earth pony was cut off by a blinding flash of blue light. Kye whipped his head around to see...nothing. Rarity had just teleported away somewhere.

“Kye, darling, would you go and take this over to Carousel Boutique? Rarity appears to have forgotten it.” Lyra spoke in a rather accurate impression of their fashionista friend, whilst levitating the diamond tiara Rarity had been wearing. “Be sure to cheer her up if she’s upset for any reason.”

She gave him a little smile. Kye didn't really want to leave her, but he took the tiara anyway and headed out into the night. He couldn't figure out why Rarity would be upset, or what Octavia had been talking about. He quickly reached the boutique, as it wasn't far from Sugarcube Corner. He knocked, but there was no answer. He was about to head back to the party when the door opened.

“Oh, Kye.” Rarity sniffled a little, but continued. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

“Erm, you forgot your tiara.” He held it out to her. She stared at it for a second, seeming to realise it’d been missing.

“Thank you, darling. It’s rather considerate of you to bring it over,” she said, enveloping it in a levitation field and forcing a smile.

“Rarity, are you okay?” He dropped to his knees and looked into her pretty eyes. She blinked before parrying with a question of her own.

“Shouldn't you be getting back to Lyra?”

Kye considered her words, then he considered Lyra's. He wrapped his arms around the unicorn, putting a hand on her mane but being careful to avoid her ears. She let out the slightest gasp. He was about to pull away but she wrapped her forelegs around him, holding him close for a long time.

When she finally released him, he was ashamed to admit to himself that the close proximity to the beautiful unicorn had left him a little hot under the collar. Thankfully, she didn't notice. Either that, or she didn't mind.

“Thank you, Kye. You’re such a gentlecolt.” She kissed him on the cheek before trotting back into the boutique and gently closing the door.

Kye sat for a moment, before getting up and heading back towards Sugarcube Corner. He was coming to like the fashion designer in a way that made him a little uneasy. He knew Lyra no longer seemed to be bothered by his affections towards other ponies, but it still made him shiver slightly.

He was walking past an alley when he heard the snide voice creep from the shadows.

“Where’s your guard dog, huh? She dumped your sorry ass already?”

Kye turned to see Ace Chrome and his pegasus marefriend emerge into the moonlight. Thankfully, it was just the two of them.

“Fuck you say?” Kye was more than a little pissed off at the pompous prick referring to Lyra as a canine.

“You got no mares and no alien contraption to save you this time, and I think it’s time for a little payback for what happened to Coco.” His horn started to glow.

“Ace, this is a bad idea. You saw how easily she knocked Coco out. She’ll kill us if we hurt him!” the pegasus suddenly piped up, her voice shaking slightly.

“She ain't here.”

The unicorn fired a blast at Kye, but the shot missed as he dived out of the way and aikido rolled over the ground. Another shot fired as the pegasus launched herself at the unicorn, knocking his aim askew. It missed Kye by inches as Ace roughly pushed the pegasus away and fired again.

Kye felt a searing pain as the third shot grazed his shoulder, burning away part of his shirt. He fell over and clutched at the wound, beginning to worry a little.

Something large flew over the top of him. Ace barely had time to blink at the new arrival before he was bucked unconscious by a large set of hind hooves. The pegasus shrieked and grabbed her sleeping stallion, buzzing her wings in a frenzy as they lifted up into the air and disappeared beyond the rooftops. Kye glanced around for his savior and saw Big Mac offering him a friendly hoof.

“Thanks,” he said as he took the stallion’s hoof and pulled himself to his feet.

“Eeyup,” was all the stallion said.

Kye inspected the damage to his shoulder. He had a bright red burn mark and his shirt had a large hole in it. He sighed—this was the only shirt he had and it was already spoiled.

“Maybe we should get back to the party,” he said said to the farm pony.

“Eeyup.”

As they set off towards Sugarcube Corner side by side, Kye was grateful that Pinkie Pie had made him so many friends.

* * *

Lyra leaned into Octavia's embrace. The Earth pony had come round to sit in the space Kye had vacated when Lyra had nearly fallen off the bench. She’d drank quite a lot in anticipation of what she was going to do to Kye when they got home, and now she was worried she’d overdone it. They were the only ones left at the table, the other ponies having joined in with the games Pinkie Pie was now administering.

“Careful now, Lyra: you wouldn't want me to take advantage of your currently inebriated disposition.” The cellist gave her a cute little smile.

Typical, Lyra thought. She’d known Octavia for years, having gone to the Canterlot College of Performing Arts together when they’d left school. The Earth pony swung both ways and had always harboured an attraction towards her. Lyra had been tempted several times to just give up her search for a stallion and succumb to her friend’s advances.

It was obvious what she now wanted to happen, but Lyra was a little worried the cellist was only interested in her, and would ignore Kye completely. Plus, it was clear that Rarity wanted second place in the hierarchy—she’d stuck by Kye’s side all night. Lyra hoped Kye had the sense to comfort the fashionista and not just think he had to save all his affections for herself. She didn't mind him considering other mares now that she’d asserted herself as his alpha.

She’d explained about the polygamous nature of ponies, but suspected Kye just assumed that that part of their culture wouldn't apply to him because he was an alien. If that was the case, then he was in for quite a shock.

“Tavi, I’m sure Kye would enjoy the show but he’d eventually want to join in...” Lyra trailed off rather suggestively.

The Earth pony smiled, her forelegs still wrapped around the unicorn. “Give me an hour of his time and I’ll show you just how much I like him.”

“Well, I’m afraid you’ll have to get in line—even I haven't had that particular pleasure yet, and I’m fairly certain another certain somepony wouldn't mind it either.”

“Ahh yes, your pretty fashionista friend. She’s cute.”

The door swung open and Big Mac walked in, followed by Kye. Lyra didn't have to be a grandmaster to realise somepony had attacked him. Octavia saw the danger signs immediately and quickly released her, shuffling along the bench away from her.

A red haze descended over Lyra’s slightly blurred vision as the speakers began to emit a loud static noise. She had a pretty good idea who had taken a shot at Kye, and she was going to fucking murder the pompous prick along with any mare that stood beside him.

She barely noticed the screams of the party goers, the bright amber light, and the sudden draught sweeping through the room making the lights flicker as she got up and floated towards Kye. She knew it was Ace that had burned a hole in his shirt, but she wanted confirmation before she went out looking for the unicorn. She then noticed Kye was slowly backing away from her with a look of horror on his face.

Waitis he scared of me? A feeling of intense hurt washed through her as she gazed at the human, surely he should know by now that she’d never dream of harming him. She looked down, only to realise her hooves weren’t touching the floor. She was surging again.

A beam of purple light hit her side and her temperature skyrocketed, her mane and tail instantly ignited and began to burn fiercely as she crumpled down with a thud. Twilight had hit her with a dissipation spell. Lyra hadn't even thought about attempting to calm herself with her meditation. It was embarrassing—she was supposed to be a master of self-control.

She pulled herself together and picked herself up, her hooves leaving large black marks on the wood floor as she tried to ignore the all-over burning sensation, knowing it would soon pass. Kye was staring at Twilight in disbelief—he probably had no idea that the purple beam hadn't been an attack. Pinkie Pie casually trotted over with a bucket of water and tipped it over Lyra, extinguishing her mane and tail in a plume of steam. She probably looked a mess.

“Ahh, Lyra. There’s never a dull moment with you, is there?” The party pony giggled as Lyra sat dripping all over the floor. Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Big Mac chuckled as well. She knew they were only trying to make her feel better by acting like it was no big deal.

“You really need to reign it in, Lyra...I don't think I can keep pulling that one out of the hat.”

Twilight was laying on the floor and panting slightly. Dissipation spells were a very advanced technical magic—they required a ridiculous amount of energy, and were highly lethal to both parties should the caster get it wrong, but they were the only sure-fire way of stopping a powerful surge. Lyra felt quite guilty that Twilight had needed to resort to such a dangerous solution.

“Sorry Twi...”

Lyra was still half cut, and many ponies were staring at her with fear in their expressions despite Pinkie’s efforts to make them laugh. She just wanted to go home, but was worried that Kye was probably scared of her now and wouldn't want to go with her. She still didn't have the nerve to look up at him, so she was startled somewhat when he dropped to his knees and wrapped her in a hug.

Twilight got to her hooves and cast a spell, and Lyra felt her mane and tail regrow, the singed ends falling away leaving only silky smooth strands.

“Thanks, Twi. I’m lucky you’re here.”

The lavender unicorn beamed at her as Octavia trotted up to them.

“You’re gonna bail, aren't you?”

Lyra turned to look at the cellist. “Tavi, I’ll make it up to you. I promise.”

“You’d better.” The Earth pony smiled at them before trotting back to the small stage as Lyra turned back to Kye.

“Do you trust me?” she whispered.

“Of course,” he whispered back.

Lyra clutched him tight as she let the magic flow through her horn. One bright flash of light later and she and Kye found themselves in her bedroom.

* * *

Kye barely had time to panic at the sudden change of location before Lyra pinned him to the bed. He’d never admit it to her but she was starting to scare him a little. He knew she’d never hurt him, but the outburst that had just taken place in the bakery made the one from the previous night look like a hop, skip, and a flash.

It was obvious why Lyra had freaked—he should have gone back to Carousel Boutique and asked Rarity to fix his shirt before heading back to the party, but he hadn't been thinking.

When he’d gotten back to the bakery, the whole room had started vibrating as she’d floated three feet off the ground. It was like a minor earthquake. The light pouring from her eyes had nearly blinded him, and the speakers had made a loud eerie static sound, scaring the shit out of everypony.

Then Twilight had set her on fire. Lyra had fallen to the ground in an inferno—Kye had been shocked at the lavender unicorn, until Lyra had gotten right back up again. The fact that she’d been burning alive hadn't seemed to bother her in the slightest.

“You okay?” she asked him.

“Y-Yeah.”

He felt her flinch a little at the tremor in his voice—she probably thought he was terrified of her. He wasn't, it was just that she was laid on top of him and he really wanted to take his jeans off. They were more than a little uncomfortable at this point. They lay in silence for a while, her warm body pressing his into the mattress. She still hadn't said anything else, so he decided to reassure her.

“I’m not scared of you Lyra,” he told her, running a hand through her mane. She gave no reaction.

“Lyra?”

Kye rolled her gently onto her side, noticing that her eyes were closed. She’d fallen asleep. Kye sighed and got up off the bed. He turned to look at her and felt a rush of affection for the pretty unicorn. Even if she did scare him occasionally, he was completely hooked on her.

He covered her with the blanket and then left the room, quietly closing the door behind him before heading downstairs to check on his bike. He was a little paranoid in case Ace had decided to do something to it while he was at the party. He’d almost reached the front door when it swung open to reveal Bon Bon, a set of keys dangling from her teeth. She trotted over the threshold and dropped them onto the table.

“Thought you’d be getting busy right about now,” she said, shamelessly teasing him whilst lighting an oil lamp with a match.

“Erm, she kinda...fell asleep…” Kye mumbled, his face turning red.

Bon Bon laughed. “Oh, you poor thing. Shame you've only got one mare at the moment, huh?”

Kye was confused, but she didn't elaborate. She trotted through to the kitchen.

“Fancy a brew?” she called through to him.

“Yea, sure,” he replied as he glanced through the window. His bike stood exactly where he’d left it.

He sat down on the couch and thought of the cellist—all it had taken was a glance and a smile in his direction and he was smitten. It was embarrassing. Octavia was the fourth mare he’d met in two days that had done that to him. He really needed to reign in his feelings in case one of them took offense to his ogling.

“So, what happened?” Bon Bon asked as she trotted back into the living room and passed him a cup of tea. She sat on an armchair and gestured to his shoulder with a hoof.

“Ace took a few potshots, and then Big Mac showed up and knocked him out,” Kye answered, taking a sip of tea.

“I thought he followed you when you left. He never says much, but he always listens, that pony.”

“Ace would have won if he hadn't showed up...I hate being so weak compared to everypony.”

Kye was voicing concerns that had been troubling him ever since the encounter. The shot had only grazed him lightly, but it had been enough to leave an angry welt, he didn't want to consider what the damage might have been if he’d taken a direct hit.

Bon Bon merely looked at him for short while. “You know, she really likes you. I've never seen her surge like that before—not for anypony.”

Kye glanced at her. “That what it’s called?”

“When unicorns feel strong emotions, they sometimes lose control of their magic. The more powerful the unicorn, the more powerful the surge. It was lucky Twilight was there to hit her with a dissipation spell.”

Kye realised something. “That explains the fire, right?”

“Well, normally the unicorn just heats up a little. I've never seen anypony actually burst into flames before, but Lyra isn't just any unicorn—she’s almost as powerful as Twilight, and that's saying something ‘cause Twilight's the Element of Magic.”

She’d completely lost him. “The what now?”

“Of course, you have no idea about the Elements.” She laid down on the armchair and explained. “Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Applejack are the six bearers of the Elements of Harmony: Magic, Generosity, Kindness, Loyalty, Laughter, and Honesty. The Elements are powerful magical artifacts that have been around for centuries, and were used to transform Nightmare Moon when she escaped from her banishment to the moon and tried to make it eternal night. Twi and the gang are pretty famous for it.”

“Nightmare Moon?” he repeated.

“The dark side of Princess Luna.”

“Princess Luna used to be evil?” Kye thought back to his encounter with the alicorn: she’d saved his life. He had a hard time imagining her to be anything other than good.

“You've met her?” Bon Bon raised her eyebrows.

“Yea, she pulled me out of a nightmare.” Kye chuckled—he admired the dark goddess even more than he admired Princess Celestia.

“Only a privileged few are gifted with her presence in their dreams; you must have intrigued her.”

Kye wondered whether Luna would come visit him again: he certainly hoped she would. He’d never met a being like her, and wanted to get to know her more.

“So what happened at Rarity’s?” Bon Bon asked, changing the subject.

“Huh?” Kye asked, pulled from his thoughts. “What do you mean?”

“Did you kiss her?” she asked rather bluntly.

“What? No, I’d never cheat on Lyra!”

Bon Bon gave him an odd look. “Hasn't Lyra told you about how relationships work in Equestria? You may be an alien, but you've still got a dick, and mares are gonna take notice considering the large shortage of stallions.” She smirked.

Woah woah woah wait...she expects me to go with other mares as well? I know she said that's how things normally work, but I didn't think-”

“Really? So you weren't stealing glances at Rarity and Tavi all night?” She gave him a wry smile. He was suddenly reminded of the alicorn sisters.

“Well, maybe a little: but that was just looking, nothing more.”

“Why do you think she told you to take the tiara to Rarity? She wanted you to let her know it was okay to make a move on your little herd. You should have at least kissed her.”

“That's not how things work back on Earth.” Kye was beginning to get a little uncomfortable with the conversation.

“You aren't on Earth anymore.” She took a sip of tea before continuing. “I know Lyra, and I know she's not selfish enough to keep you all to herself. Tavi’s been crushing on her for years, so she’s gonna want in: I would suggest the two of you going for Rarity first, though.”

“Octavia's gay?” He frowned.

“No, she’s hardly into mares at all—she’s just really into Lyra. I heard she tried it with Vinyl a few times when she’s been drunk, but Pon3 don't swing that way.”

“Pon3?” he asked.

“Vinyl Scratch, aka DJ Pon3—the unicorn on the decks. Her and Tavi tour all over Equestria together playing Classical Wub fusion.”

Kye shook his head, he was getting sidetracked. “So Octavia only wants Lyra?”

“Oh, no no no,” she laughed. “Like I said, Tavi’s mainly into stallions, so she’d still ride you like a rodeo pony. I've heard she’s pretty good in the sack.”

Kye didn't know where to look, or how to respond. Bon Bon was being so crude he almost preferred her still thinking he was a monster.

She yawned. “Anyway, I’m gonna hit the hay. G’night.”

The Earth pony trotted up the stairs, leaving Kye alone on the couch. His mind was reeling from what they’d discussed. He thought of the possibility of actually becoming polygamous. He thought of Rarity: the feel of her silky mane in his fingers. The accidental glimpse beneath her tail flashed in his mind and he shuddered, his jeans tightening. He took them off along with his shirt and extinguished the lamp, grabbing the blanket that was folded on the back of the armchair and draping it over himself as he laid down on the couch.
