Initial Dash: Drifting is Magic
Chapter 5: Rival Origins 1: Blueblood
Previous ChapterRival Origins 1: Blueblood!/Stupid Origins 1: The Butchering of Characters!
The night air was cold, the stars were all twinkling in the sky, and my eyes were barely open as I sat in the back of my dad’s car. I was so tired; my dad suddenly awoke me late at night and made me get in the car. This was something that he never did before and honestly I was more than a little grumpy for being awoken in my sleep. It was Friday night and I had a whole list of plans and things I wanted to do over the weekend, so I went to bed a little earlier than usual to be well rested in the morning. Obviously that didn’t go very well as I’m on a sudden car trip with my dad in the middle of the night.
“Dad…” I called in a haze as I felt my head lean against the window of the car door. “What are we doing out so late?” I asked tiredly in the back of the car as I weakly looked outside to see small groups of people all heading in the same direction as we were.
“You’ll see.” My father warmly replied as I slowly looked at the rearview mirror in the front of the car to catch a glimpse of him smiling. “Your Aunt Celestia is going to forever change this city…” He went onto vaguely say, immediately evoking a groan in response out of me.
My Aunt Celestia? That already infuriated me. I hated my aunt; I hated her with a passion. She’s a part of the more wealthy part of the family, the head of it in fact. She’s easily the richest person in the entire city of Canterlot and quite possibly Equestria period. She’s so insanely rich that I’m sure if she got cold at night she would burn suitcases full of thousand bit bills. That’s not what makes me hate her however; after all it’s nice to have a member of your family that’s very financially successful as the money does trickle down to the other parts. Namely me as I was always carrying around bits that I could blow on whatever I wanted whenever I wanted.
No, I hated her because of one simple fact. She’s the dumbest person to ever grace the face of this planet. She’s stupidly rich, and of course rich people blow money on stupid things. What do they normally spend it on? Perhaps they could buy big luxurious mansions? Exotic sports cars as far as the eye can see maybe? Or how about a private island if they’re really loaded? My aunt is so rich that she could buy all those things at once ten times over and not make a dent in her wealth. But what did she buy instead? A mountain, she bought a freaking mountain! After all, that’s what all the normal rich people buy right? They buy a mountain, along with all the roads on them of course! Heck, I didn’t even know it was even possible to buy a mountain until I was told at a very young age that our aunt owned her own mountain.
It wasn’t even a large mountain, and it certainly wasn’t the tallest mountain surrounding the city, but she bought it because she’s an idiot. Now what, pray tell, does she do with the mountain? Close it off completely for her private personal get away? Build some hotels or resorts for tourists? Or how about making it a toll road for people going to and from the city? No, she did none of those in fact. She did absolutely nothing to change it or the roads or anything about the mountain period. The only thing she did was after around a certain time at night, when all the side roads are empty; she goes out and just drives around like a maniac. It’s her mountain after all; she can do whatever she pleases apparently and not get in trouble with the law. Now, I can understand wanting to drive fast sometimes, but on a mountain road with all those bends and turns? She clearly lost every part of her freaking mind!
Now around the time of my Aunt Luna’s birth, she bought herself a new car. Ok, that sounds something a rich person would do. Is it a Porsche, Lamborghini, or a Ferrari perhaps? You know one of those really expensive cars meant to go fast that loaded people typically buy? No, of all the dumb cars in the world she buys, she went and bought a NSX. A car I don’t think anyone knows or cares about because it’s so lame. Now, to top this mindless stupidity off, what was the final straw to seal herself as the ‘dumbest person in the world?’ Shortly afterwards, she invited as many people as she could to her mountain and drove with them as some sort of a legal street racing sort of deal. Doesn’t charge them money, doesn’t expect anything in return, and says it’s all in the name ‘good fun.’ She really is the dumbest person to ever live, such a disgrace as well to her wealth as well. If only I had all that money, the things I would do with it.
And now here I was on my way, in middle of the night, to watch this crazy person quite possibly kill herself on the mountain road. Truth be told, I never watched her drive, but then again I never wanted to. Such a dumb concept, if she wanted to do this so badly why didn’t she just join a driving club or something? She could buy all the private tracks and organizations in the world if she wanted to! No, she wanted that dumb mountain because of the ‘unrestricted freedom’ or whatever that she usually went on about. Did I mention she was stupider than the common slug?
I groaned to myself as I noticed the car start to slow down as we continued to drive along the dimly lit streets. I was too much in a daze and a stupor to notice what was really going outside. I did notice that there were a few cars and people outside the window to the point where I thought that some sort of traffic jam or accident had occurred on the road. Why such a thing like this was happening in the dead of night was a mystery to me. I did not give it much thought as we slowly turned off the road and entered some kind of parking lot. I was too tired and frustrated to really do anything besides yawn and yearn for my comfy bed.
As we parked in a large parking lot of the bottom of the mountain, I noticed a lot of cars parked where we were, more than there should be since it’s the middle of the night. I shook my head and yawned before I opened the back door to our car. When I stumbled out of our sedan, grumbling to myself in annoyance, I looked around and immediately woke up at the sight of all the people moving through the parking lot, and the even larger group of people all huddled at the exit of the mountain. I felt numb as the sheer amount of people here was mind blowing; it had to be the most massive assortment of people gathered together in one place I have ever saw in my life!
“I’m sorry son. I wish we could’ve got a better space up in the mountain, but from what I can tell it’s already filled with people and cars.” I heard my dad apologize as he closed the door to our car. I merely looked up at him with my mouth hanging open as he took me by my hand and led me through the crowds of people towards the street.
What did he say just say? I was already lost in a sea of endless bodies and there was more? I felt myself be lifted off the ground and placed on my dad’s shoulders. As my dad weaved through the crowd to get close to the road, I looked around and gasped once more at the sheer amount of people just here at the bottom of the mountain. There were more people than I originally thought, at least over a thousand! That’s about one-fifth of the population of Canterlot, and there’s MORE people here than just that?
When we got as close to the road as we could I looked up and saw both sides of the street filled with people all the way up as far as I could see up the mountain. Some people were standing on top of large RVs they drove themselves, others on the ground were jumping up and down to get a better view, and some were even in the trees. I don’t know how long I spent looking around at all the people in the area. It felt like I wasted an hour of just gawking at the sheer mass of the crowd.
“Yo, the race started.” I eventually heard somebody nearby me say, most likely to another person. Wait, a race? A race is going on? So it’s not just my crazy aunt driving?
“I heard Spitfire took the lead off the starting line.” His buddy next to him replied as I looked over to see two tall guys next to us, both wearing T-shirts with a blue race car on it with lots of decals and sponsors on it. Wait, did they say Spitfire? Thee Spitfire? She’s here? What on earth is a racing celebrity like her doing here? I know it’s the offseason, but shouldn’t she be posing for magazines, spending time in her mansion, doing lots of drugs, or whatever celebrities like her usually do on their free time?
“Of course! Spitfire’s the undefeated six time national champ on the professional circuit! There’s no way she could lose to some street raised poser in an NSX!” The other much fatter guy declared happily as he turned. As he did I could clearly see the picture of the red and yellow haired race driver on the back of his blue shirt.
“Ya-heah Wonderbolt pride bro!” The other man cheered as they both raised their fists and pounded them.
I blinked a few times at them and started to look around to see all the people whispering and conversing among amongst each other. All these people had come out just for this? Spitfire I can sort of understand as she’s a celebrity, but for my aunt? Please, she’s a crazy girl in her late twenties who dyes her hair pink and drives down the side of the mountain for fun! What could be so great about seeing a tried and true professional humiliate her in a race?
“Hey! I just got word from my pal whose like near the halfway point! Spitfire’s in the lead!” Somebody in the crowd shouted at the top of his lungs, getting cheers and applause from a lot of the spectators. “H-Holy crap! He also said that Celestia is pressing her hard! Like practically on top of her!” He then screamed which immediately caused the crowd to stop their applause and start to whisper silently amongst themselves. Pressing? On top of her? What does that even mean?
“Spitfire is being pressured?” A spectator near us asked himself in disbelief. What does this mean? Pressured? On top of her? Pressing? Is she racing her or giving her one of those ‘adult massages’ my mom and dad say they give each other at night sometimes?
“Impossible! He must’ve heard that wrong or maybe…maybe she’s just taking it easy on her for now!” Another one theorized sounding almost desperate. Why is everyone getting so worked up over this?
“Come on Celestia! Show that uptight brat what we common street racers can really do!” A somewhat familiar voice shouted from across the street. I glanced over and noticed a somewhat old girl with black hair and a swollen eye. Wait, that’s Ms. Inkwell! One of the teachers at my school! What the heck is she doing here? Don’t tell me she’s one of my aunt’s dumb driving friends!
“You can do it big sis!” Another familiar, much younger voice screamed cheerfully. I looked over next to Inkwell to see my two year older Aunt Luna jumping up and down happily, her short light blue hair bouncing off and on her shoulders as she did.
I then noticed that most of the people near Luna and Inkwell were people I knew. Storeowners, small time workers, and even children were present. Some of them I recognized as my fellow classmates from school. They were all here? Why? And why do they look more excited than ever? Why did a lot of the other people look confused, upset, or concerned? What’s on the line to warrant all this? And why are there a lot of cops next to their cars at the end of the mountain road? I have no idea what’s going on!
A phone rang from someone behind me, followed by the flipping sound of a handheld cellphone. “Yeah? You see them pass? What happened?” The girl asked to whomever it was that was on the other line. A few seconds later I heard a gasp, followed by the sound of something hitting the ground and breaking. “No way…” She whispered in complete disbelief. No way…what?
“Here comes a car!” A guy in a tree at the far end of the road next to the turn shouted. He was so far away I could barely hear him, but what I could clearly hear though was the sound of an engine getting louder and louder. I looked around and I noticed the crowd get antsier and antsier, whispering and shifting in anticipation.
“It’s the…It’s the-!” The guy in the tree frantically yelled in complete shock as the headlights of the car started to shine down the street as the engine sound grew louder by the second along with the sound of screeching tires. The headlights turned suddenly as the tire screeches increased as the sight of a white car came sliding around the corner. Its rear end was free and its front bumper looked like it was it touching the guardrail, though there were no sounds of scraping or sparks flying off of it. That…That’s my aunt’s car…I recognize its distinct shape and weird flip up headlights anywhere! She…she actually beat the future hall of famer Spitfire?
“The NSX?” A few spectators in the audience said in poor unison as most of the others gasped in horror. The people on the other side of the street cheered as the white car came out of the turn. It careened down the road still sliding at an angle as lot of the members of the audience began to back away.
“She’s not recovering from the drift!” Somebody frantically shouted as more and more people began to flee from the oncoming car speeding down the road almost sideways. The engine roared as the tires screeched some more, so much so it began to leave behind a long trail of white smoke.
My father didn’t move and instead chuckled at the sight, as if a car about to wreck was somehow pleasing to him. I felt nervous that it would wreck as I didn’t really want anything bad to happen to her, even if I didn’t really like her I didn’t want anything bad to happen to her. As the car got closer and closer its front end suddenly turned violently to the right, making it start to spin in a circle. I really began to feel scared as I just knew she had lost control and was now going to crash, quite possibly hurting a lot of people and undoubtedly killing herself in the process.
“It’s spinning out of control! She’s going to wreck!” Another person blatantly pointed out as the car spun around at least two more times down the road, all of its tires screeching against the pavement leaving behind four trails of smoke behind each tire..
Everybody was now running except for my father and all the people on the other side of the street. Not even Luna was running or even scared for that matter as she smiled and watched car as it suddenly stabilized with one violent jerk. It was now sliding backwards at a much slower pace as it went to the side of the road next to the group of locals. It slowly screeched to a halt as it stopped right next to them. The engine quickly turned off and the lights retreated back into the front end as people previously running stopped and looked back in complete shock at the now perfectly parked car.
I myself was in complete surprise as my jaw dropped the sheer amount of crazy I just saw before her. “That girl’s out of her mind.” I commented in a whisper as the driver’s side door opened and out from the seat came the bright pink haired woman in her normal white business suit. She smiled and looked at her friends with a nod before looking around at everyone, and then finally the cops, who were also completely shocked at what they just saw.
“Oh…I’m so sorry about this!” Celestia frantically apologized as she walked up with a hand covering her mouth. “Did I cross the line back onto the public road?” She quickly asked as she looked down at the road trying to see if she left her private road and got back on the public one. The cop in front of her, with his jaw hanging open, slowly shook his head no as my father and a lot of the audience began to get closer to the winner of the race.
“Well I should still get a ticket for this!” My aunt insisted with a firm nod. Wait, she actually wants a ticket? “I mean what I did was pretty reckless right?” She went on to ask as she put her hands on her hip and continued smiling as the cop shook his head again. Oh yeah, you really are the dumbest girl in the world.
“Well, how about all these spectators then? I’m sure it’s public loitering or something? Or how about the sounds of the engines being excessive noise pollution? Or maybe-”
“M-Ma’am…” The male cop called in a stutter as he raised his hand, cutting off Celestia from continuing. “It…it’s fine…it’s just…it’s fine…” The officer struggled to say as he shook his head slowly again, still reeling in shock of what just happened in front of him as the sound of another engine slowly began to be heard.
Celestia smiled sweetly at the police officer as the engine sound quickly grew louder and louder. “There’s the Esprit!” The guy in the tree declared frantically as all eyes went back to the turn to see another set of headlights appear.
The headlights didn’t suddenly disappear like the car before it and there were much tamer tire screeches as a bright blue car came around the corner. The strange blue car with lots of decals and sponsors on it furiously went through the corner until coming down the straight. The car looked somewhat familiar to the white one ahead of it. It had two doors, some moving headlights, a wing on the back, but it was much boxier looking and the headlights where much bigger. The blue car with a strange lightning bolt with wings picture on the hood came to a screeching halt next to the white car head of it as Celestia watched it with a smile.
The car’s engine kicked off as the headlights moved back down into the hood. The door driver’s side door flew open as tall slender feminine figure in a matching blue racing suit and helmet came out. The decal covered girl took off her gloves before quickly removing her helmet. She girl shook her fiery red hair upon removing the helmet and threw both it and the gloves back into the car before angrily looking at my Aunt with her furious orange eyes. It…It’s Spitfire….it took her this long to get to the finish after Celestia did? It was least like two minutes! That’s unbelievable!
“You…You!” Spitfire uttered twice softly as she slowly raised her hand to point at the girl standing behind her white car. The entire crowd went dead silent and moved closer to the cars to better hear the two as Celestia slowly began to walk around her car.
“Hey Spitfire…did you have fun?” She asked the girl across from her as she slowly walked around her car, her hand tracing against the back and then the wing as she slowly came around the other side.
“Is that all you have to say? ‘Did you have fun?!’ Are you taunting me?” The girl angrily shouted as she rushed around the front end of her car to get face to face with the girl who beat her.
“I wasn’t joking and by judging response I can safely say that it was a no…” My aunt lowly said almost in disappointment and with a sigh as she reached her passenger side door and leaned against it with her hands in her front pockets.
“What the hell are you Celestia?” The Wonderbolt angrily asked as she went up to the slightly taller girl’s face. “No one has ever passed me, much less beat me! In the six years I’ve been on the professional circuit no one’s even come close to doing what you just did!” The girl declared as she gritted her teeth and narrowed her eyes at now chuckling girl.
“Don’t you dare laugh at me!” Spitfire furiously spat out as she pointed at the winner of the race.
The crowd began to grow restless and loud, mumbling and talking amongst themselves to the point where I couldn’t hear the two racers as the conversed. All I really noticed was Celestia holding up her hand, raising her fingers one right after the other as her other hand pointed at her, her car, and then the road behind them. Spitfire’s reactions went from angry, to shocked, to even more furious by the end of it all as people close by the conversation where gasping and snickering at some points.
“You…You bitch!” I heard Spitfire scream at the top of her lung as she ran back around to the driver’s side door. “I won’t forget this! I’ll have my revenge! Just you wait Celestia! We’ll race again! I swear it!” She continued shouting as she opened the door to her car and got inside, closing the door with a loud slam.
“I’ll be looking for to it Spitfire, you can race me anytime you want!” I heard Celestia yell back so Spitfire could hear her from within the car as it ignited to life. The engine roared loudly as the headlights came back up before the tires began squealing against the pavement.
“Spitfire wait! I wouldn’t-!” Celestia began shouting as the car launched forward, people getting out of the way as it flew past them and the cop cars. One of them immediately turned on its sirens and chased the blue car as it turned the corner, the cop car following in hot pursuit. “Do that…” She softly finished as the sound of tires screeching to a stop was heard followed by the sirens turning off. The locals I knew standing behind Celestia’s NSX began to laugh loudly as everyone else just looked on in shock, as if what they were seeing was just some horrible stage play that wasn’t actually real.
“That’s right! Go back to Cloudsdale you Wonderfail!” Inkwell shouted as she and the rest of the locals began to surround Celestia and her white car. “And don’t you ever underestimate us ‘lowly street punks’ ever again!” She added with a smirk as she put an arm around Celestia while her little sister raised her arm up.
“Let’s hear it for my big sis, for tonight she’s our hero and our Princess!” Luna squealed in delight as she held Celestia’s arm up as if she was the champion to a boxing match.
“Uh, no please it’s really-” The driver tried to modestly decline before being cut off by the cheers and shouts of the people around her as the rubbed her head and patted her on the back, Luna hugging her big sister’s waist.
I rolled my eyes at the sight, all of Celestia’s loser friends cheering her on, big deal that’s typical for me as the entire school will cheer me on. As I shook my head and rolled my eyes I noticed some people in the crowd around us began to slowly clap and cheer. Then more people began to cheer, then more, and more until the entire crowd of over a thousand began to scream and chant her name. The noise was so loud it sounded like army was attacking the walls of a fortress.
My eyes bulged as I watched everyone around us rush up to the girl next to her car, trying to take her picture, screaming out her name, and reaching out to try and touch the woman. Even my own loyal trio of followers were trying to get as close as they could to her. I slowly looked around and everywhere I looked people were rushing to get as close as they could for as far as I could see, even up the road towards the mountain. People were running down sides of the mountain or driving down to all get a look at the racer.
Now two firsts happened to me today, the first was earlier when I saw all these people, and now my second first was seeing them all clamoring for a single person. All these people who were possibly here for Spitfire and were against Celestia were suddenly on her side as if she was a major celebrity, an idol they could all walk up and talk to. Not even in my wildest dreams could I ever see on person get this much attention and adoration.
“Son…this day will go down as the day that Canterlot became a capital to a generation of aspiring racers all aiming to achieve what your Aunt has achieved today…” My father warmly said as we both watched the people pick her up off the ground and raise her above their heads. “And she herself has become an icon and idol to possibly millions of normal drivers all just wanting to be the best they can be.” He finished with a nod as they started to toss the actually sort of terrified looking girl up into the air. It seems like she doesn’t want this sort of attention, but I’ll gladly take it in her place!
“I’m going to be just like her dad…” I softly replied to the older man still holding me up to get a good view of everything. “I’m going to be so good get that things such as this will seem insignificant in comparison!” I declared excited as I could already see the legions of people all throwing themselves at me!
“The name Blueblood will ring out across the world one day! Just you wait and see!” I shouted in determination as I could already hear in my mind the millions of people all over the word chanting my name! Yes one day it will all about me! Blueblood the Greatest Racer in Equestria!
The bright red Ferrari F50 sparkled and gleamed as it remained parked directly in the center of the lobby. The pinnacle of mid 90s Ferrari engineering was perfectly clean from bumper to bumper and had its engine compartment open to display the powerful and impressive 4.7 Liter V12 engine. Both doors were open to reveal the untarnished and pristine interior to further enhance its magnificence. It remained there as an object of admiration for all who entered the dealership building.
In the empty white lobby, only footsteps could be heard leading up to the expensive super car. A person walked up next to the right side mirror of the car, dressed in a mixed up suit with a white glove on one hand and a yellow one on the other. The red eyed, white haired man with a goatee smiled with his misshapen teeth at the newly readjusted mirror.
“Ah…It’s perfect…” He lowly declared as he moved his yellow gloved hand up his slender body to his small white patch of fascial hair to stroke it slightly. He quickly turned around and began to quickly walk away from the red car. After he moved to the wall, he turned around with a smirk on his face before raising his hand and snapping his gloved fingers.
Immediately, out of nowhere, a large anvil fell from the ceiling and crushed the multi-million dollar car flat. The car alarm went off as chunks of metal, glass, and fluid flew around the room, narrowly missing the person who caused its destruction. The man clapped his hands giddily and laughed almost manically as he jumped up and down like a little kid.
“Ahh that was absolutely wonderful!” He announced to no one in particular as he hopped up on top of the destroyed car next to the anvil. “Nothing warms my heart more than seeing an overpriced Italian piece of garbage crushed by a cartoonish looking anvil…” He then proudly declared as a tear formed in his right eye.
“Mama was right…it really is the simple things that bring out the most joy in people!” He sadly reminisced as he got out a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his eyes and then blew his nose very loudly. He then sighed in content and tossed the handkerchief aside before reaching into the pile of metal and getting out a smart phone. He quickly tapped the screen a few times to make a call and raised the phone to his ear. “Berry Punch…would you be a dear and send in the Ferrari 355 next…oh and a few more anvils if you would…thanks…” He frantically instructed with a smile on his face before removing the device from his ear.
“Would you please stop calling me already you crazy bas-” The female voice began to say over the phone before it was turned off and tossed on top of the anvil. The man chuckled to himself before jumping off the red pile of scrap metal as the door to the lobby opened.
In walked a very tall, very attractive, blonde haired male with a furious look on his face. After he slammed the door shut, he saw the destroyed Ferrari in the center of the lobby and raised an eyebrow in confusion. “What the hell happened here?” He asked in a gruff tone as he still held that angry expression on his face.
“Oh you know…the tragic tale of exotic sports car meeting its doom via anvil…it’s a horrible trend that’s been happening a lot around here for some strange reason…” The man on top of the destroyed car gleefully explained as he jumped wreckage. “Just ignore that though Blueballs I mean Blueblood….” He then smugly teased, garnering an unsubtle eye twitch and groan.
“So what can I do to help you this fine….whatever today is…” He then offered as he walked up next to the shorter male and put his yellow gloved hand around his shoulder.
“You know why I’m here Discord…” Blueblood answered darkly as he narrowed his eyes at the much thinner man next to him.
“Ah yes…of course…” The slim guy with the white goatee responded with nod and a grin. “Follow me…” He instructed as he removed his hand and walked ahead of the younger man.
The two exited the lobby and into the showroom where lots of other cars of different makes, years, and models were all lined up and displayed. They weaved through the cars and to the back corner where a locked elevator was. Beside the doors were two key holes and as soon as Discord reached it he took of his shoes and reached into them to pull out the respective key to the lock. He put the keys into the lock as he slipped back into his shows and looked to his right at a mirror in the wall. He nodded to his reflection before turning them both at the same time towards the right.
“Self –Destruct Sequence Activated. “ A female monotone voice announced over the intercom as the entire room began to flash red and a large blaring siren began to sound. “T-Minus ten seconds to complete obliteration….” The voice went on as a counter appeared on a large TV screen towards the front of the room.
“Oh right…I turned it the wrong way…opps…” Discord declared almost in a disinterested tone as Blueblood behind him began to freak out and scream.
“Ten…Nine…Eight…Seven…Six…” The voice began to count down as the numbers on the screen began to change to the corresponding number. “…Cinco…Quattro…Tres...Dos…Uno…” The voice went on; now counting in Spanish, as Discord lazily turned both keys all the way to the left
“Self-Destruct Sequence Aborted…” The voice announced as the room stopped flashing, the siren stopped, and the TV screen shut off. Blueblood immediately sighed in relief and put a hand to his heart to make sure it was still beating. “Super-Secret Elevator to the Super-Secret Basement full of Super-Secret Stuff activated…” The voice then declared as the small light above the elevator began to flash.
“Chocolate-Milk Sprinkler System also activated.” The female voice also added much to Blueblood’s confusion.
“Yay!” Discord cheered gleefully as he clapped his hands and then looked up at the sprinklers on the ceiling.
“Error. Chocolate-Milk reserves at zero. Chocolate-Milk Sprinkler System activation canceled.” The voice then informed as a loud buzzing noise rang out.
“Awww…” The now depressed man groaned as he lowered his hands and hunched over slightly to face the ground.
“Dude…why do you have the self-destruct crap apart of the elevator unlock thing?” Blueblood asked exasperatedly as he walked up next to the taller bent over man. “Why do you even have a self-destruct sequence in the first place?” He then pointed out in an even louder tone as it dawned on him that a car dealership had a self-destruct sequence seemingly pulled out of a cheesy sci-fi film.
“Oh please, you should now that every major corporation or business has a self-destruct procedure in case shit goes hits the fan…everyone knows this…” Discord answered with a laugh as he straightened himself out and put his white gloved hand around Blueblood’s shoulder.
“I’m pretty sure they don’t…” The blonde male responded as the elevator dinged and the doors slowly opened. The doors opened to reveal another set of smaller elevator doors. Those doors slowly opened to reveal an even smaller set of doors. Then they slowly opened vertically to reveal a tiny, almost dwarf sized, door. It flung open to reveal the elevator, but was so small Blueblood doubted he could even fit through it the doorway. “You’ve got to be kidding me…” He lowly commented upon seeing the small square entrance that looked less than half his size.
“After you Blueba…Blood…” Discord playfully instructed as he gestured his white gloved hand towards the small entry. The younger man groaned very loudly before bending over and crouching.
He moved forward and struggled to get in through the small doorway. He twisted and contorted his body as best he could to fit, but couldn’t get through and ended up getting stuck. He began to shift and frantically struggle before feeling Discord’s foot on his back and kicking him the rest of the way in.
His face met the wall of the elevator and grumbled in pain as he turned to see Discord easily enter the very small and cramped elevator thanks to his skinnier frame. Blueblood had to move as much as he could to one end of the elevator to let Discord in and even with that both their bodies were pressed together in the small confines of the elevator.
“What the hell kind of…rghh…elevator is this? A small kitchen service elevator?” Blueblood questioned as he irked in pain as his face was pressed against the cold metal of the elevator.
“No it’s a special elevator on sale that was like over half off! I couldn’t pass it up!” The other guy almost excitedly explained as he pressed the only button with his elbow.
“Maybe you should’ve because I feel like I’m about to pass out!” The blonde haired man screamed as the elevator started to slowly descend.
“Oh don’t complain Blueballs…it’s going to be a short trip I promise…” Discord responded with a snicker which made the guy pressed up against him to growl angrily.
“Don’t you dare freaking call me tha-AHHHHHHHH!!!!” Blueblood began to retort before shouting as he felt the floor below him disappear. He screamed as he fell like a rock in a black abyss. After a few seconds he hit the ground with a thud. He groaned in pain as he rubbed his back from the hit and looked up to see the light from the elevator and Discord floating down whilst only holding a small umbrella.
“What the hell was that Discord?” The furious, light blue eyed man shouted as he shot up from where he was, watching Discord as he gently landed on the ground. “You could’ve killed me!” He went on to point out as Discord folded the small umbrella up and put it in his business coat.
“If only I were so lucky…” Discord softly commented to himself as he straightened out his tie.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” The shorter, better looking man hissed angrily as he stomped on the ground. “Why the hell does the elevator open from the bottom? What the hell is the point of it if it only lasts like two seconds? Why is the elevator even necessary if it’s this close to the floor? Why couldn’t you just make some stairs or some-” He then franticly asked as he pointed at the elevator above them, stopping when Discord clapped his hands and cut him off.
“Mr. Blueballs…” Discord began in a serious tone as a light from above then suddenly turned on and made a small circle of light around them.
“BlueBLOOD!” Blueblood corrected as he raised both his fists to punch the taller, skinnier man.
“Whatever…” The uncaring dealership owner dismissed softly with a wave of his hands. “Behold!” He then said back in his serious and grand tone as he turned around; another beam of light from the ceiling making another circle of light in front of theirs.
“The greatest technological achievement I ever devised!” He went on proudly as another light appeared before them leading away from them. “An undertaking that if done by anyone else would’ve been impossible!” Discord continued as Blueblood’s eyes started to get wider by the second thanks to the grand entrance the dealership owner seemed to be giving.
“A one of a kind masterpiece that is…!” He went on before deliberately stopping as one final light shined above the object. “My Ultimate Chocolate Milk Cooler!” He then finally shouted as Blueblood looked at the rather large cooler with a large jug full of brownish liquid that seemed to be sectioned off.
“Huh?” The shorter male dryly uttered as his eyes were still wide from shock, and not the shock he was expecting either.
“Just look at it!” Discord exclaimed gleefully as he skipped over to the large cooler like a school kid. “Over thirty exquisite kinds and brands of chocolate milk from around the globe in one device and, at the press of a button, can serve you multiple kinds of chocolate milk with or without ice in a personalized cup!” He detailed as he circled the large cooler, whilst pointing to certain parts of the machine.
“Truly, this is the height of human…no…MY genius!” He boasted happily as he grabbed a personalized cup that said ‘Chaotic 1’ on the side and poured himself a glass, quickly taking a huge gulp afterwards. “Oohhhhhhh that’s goooooood!” He declared satisfied as he lowered the cup from his lips, showing his now brown goatee that was soaked from the milk.
Blueblood’s right eye twitched as his jaw shook; the fumes within building rapidly to the point where you could almost hear the whistling a tea pot would make when it’s boiling. “You made me go all through that to see your stupid milk jug?!” He screamed at the top of his lungs as he began to stomp towards the skinny man with one of his fists raised.
“Clearly, somebody’s not going to get a cup of chocolate milk!” The white haired man commented with a chuckle as he shook his head.
“I don’t want any damn chocolate milk!” The furious younger male hollered as he swung his fist towards the taller man.
“Poor naïve child…” Discord dryly commented under his breath as he easily moved out of the way from Blueblood’s punch. Blueblood’s fist missed Discord’s body and caused him to lose his balance and fall flat on his face on the floor. “Well, what in Equestria did you come here for then?” He then asked as he refilled his glass as Blueblood scrambled on the ground to get back up.
“For my freaking car of course! I sure as hell didn’t come here for some milk!” He replied still furious as he raised his fist once more to hit the seemingly disinterested dealership owner.
“Ohhhhh that thing?” Discord responded in realization as he shook his glass full of chocolate milk, swirling the liquid around slightly. “It’s right over there…” He then informed as he raised his other hand and snapped his fingers.
A light on the other end of the room turned on which caught Blueblood’s attention as he looked over at the new source of light and what it revealed. “That’s…That’s…” He stuttered in shock as he saw the reason why he came sparkling proudly underneath the light.
“Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 C6…” Discord said loudly with a smirk, practically introducing the shiny blue sleek car as its owner began to slowly walk towards it. “Or, if you’re going by its nickname, then it’s the Blue Devil…” He finished with a sigh before taking a quick gulp of his refreshed chocolate milk.
Blueblood slowly lingered right next to the blue supercar and looked at in silence for a few seconds. He was busy admiring all the curves and straight lines of the car that he hadn’t seen in what felt like forever. He slowly extended his hand out and gently touched the cold hood of his car. “My…Car….” He whispered to himself as he began to rub the hood slightly; a smile creeping on his face as memories of him and his vehicle began to resurface.
“Say cheese!” An older woman declared as she held a camera up and snapped a picture of an adolescent looking Blueblood. Who recoiled at the very bright flash and made an annoyed look at the photographer.
“Geez mom, do you need to take pictures every thirty seconds?” Blueblood replied exasperated as he looked down at his slice of chocolate cake on the table.
“Of course I do…” His blonde mother happily replied with a twinkle in her green eyes as she checked over the picture on her digital camera. “Your birthday only comes once a year after all…” She then pointed out with a smile as Blueblood took a bite from his small slice.
“You say that every year. I get the feeling you already have like thirty albums full of photos for just my birthdays alone…” The disgruntled son retorted as he pointed his fork at his taller and slimmer looking mother.
“No….of course not…” His mom denied with a chuckle as she raised the camera again and took another shot. “I’m almost double that…” She then revealed in a witty tone as she looked at the camera screen again.
“I don’t know whether to roll my eyes at that remark or be concerned that it actually might be true…” The birthday boy said with a groan as he rubbed his eyes thanks to the camera flash.
“Would you be surprised if it was?” The older woman asked back teasingly as she titled her head slightly.
“Honestly no…because I have a weird family. From an overbearing mother, to an adopted foreign cousin, to a crazy aunt who owns like every mountain ever…” Blueblood honestly answered with a long sigh as he nodded his head slowly, remembering the details of his wacky family.
“Oh speaking of your aunt…she got you a gift…” His mother informed in an excited tone as she held the camera back up to her eye.
“Oh boy what two bit card did she send me this year?” The adolescent unenergetically asked as he rolled his eyes, almost getting blinded again by the flash of the camera going off. “Ah….damn it! Stop that! It’s not even dark enough to warrant using the flash!” He angrily pointed out with a curse as he rubbed both his eyes.
“It’s right outside, so maybe you should go see for yourself…” Blueblood’s mom vaguely instructed with a smirk as she looked at the camera screen again to review the photo she just took.
Blueblood raised an eyebrow slightly at his mother’s response and slowly got up from the table. He passed his mom who was still messing with the camera and headed for the front door. When he opened the door to the front yard, he immediately spotted a strange unfamiliar car parked in the driveway. Upon looking at it, he immediately recognized it to be the car of his dreams and the one he had wanted for over three years.
“That’s…That’s a…” He began to utter softly in disbelief before being cut off by the flash of his mother’s camera. “Ah! Would you freaking stop that already?” He then shouted at the top of his lungs as he turned away and began to rub his eyes again.
“It’s your new car!” His mother happily announced as she quickly took another picture, this time of the car itself. “I told my sister that you recently got your license and how you always wanted to be like her and ‘rage on that mountain’ or whatever it is they do…” She explained quickly in a single breath before looking down at the digital screen of the camera.
“And she was so happy to help…so happy that she got you the car you’ve always wanted…” She then finished as she walked over next to the car and patted it on the black roof.
“It’s the fastest Corvette ever made and quite possibly the fastest street legal car made in Equestria…” Blueblood said proudly, more to himself than his mother, as he casually walked over to his new car. “And undoubtedly the fastest car in Canterlot…” He went on as he walked next it and glided his hand across the hood of the supercar.
“This will certainly help me in my rise to-AHHH!” He then tried to continue before being cut off from the blinding flash of his mother’s camera going off again. “Why hasn’t that damn thing died yet?” He furiously shouted as he pointed at what he thought was his mother. He was still recovering from the blinding flash and could only see spots for a few moments.
“Oh and she said she wants you to see her as soon as possible so she can teach you not to ‘be a dud’ or whatever…” The proud mother informed, ignoring her son’s complaints as she looked over the camera again.
“I’m pretty sure I don’t need her help…if I can press down on the pedals and turn the steering wheel then I know enough to start racing…” The new Corvette owner grumbled back as his vision finally returned to normal and he could reliably see things again.
“Ah…I knew she should’ve been here today…but she was busy with work…” His mother complained softly to herself as she ran a hand through her blonde hair for a few seconds, thinking things over. “Fine…you can do whatever you want without her help but just promise me you won’t do anything too dangerous until after high school…I mean I almost have you raised and everything you know?” She then counter-suggested as she looked back at him with a raised finger, holding the camera in her other hand.
“I promise…” Blueblood agreed with a smile and a nod before looking back at the car. “And trust me…it won’t be long before I achieve my dream of being just like my aunt…if not better…” He arrogantly stated with a smirk as he opened the door and quickly sat inside. He looked around the cabin of the car, admiring the expensive look and the new car smell that seemed to come with all new cars. He looked around for a key, but noticed that there wasn’t any and instead button that said ‘Start engine.’
“And it begins here…” He confidently stated as he pressed the button and started the car’s monstrous sounding engine.
He chuckled to himself almost in victory as if he already one and moved his hand down to the stick shift to move it to reverse. When he did, he didn’t bother pressing the clutch and the car’s transmission made a horrible grinding noise. He covered his ears with both hands because of how loud and awful it sounded and looked to the stick shift. He found that it didn’t have the letters ‘P’ ‘R’ ‘N’ and ‘D’ written next to the stick shift like his mother’s car. Instead there was the letter ‘R’ with a whole bunch of numbers listed right on the stick shift knob instead of in a line next to the stick shift itself.
“…on second thought…this might take a while…” He admitted softly to himself as he further examined the strange and different looking stick shift. He looked down at the floorboard and noticed a third pedal that he never saw before and put a finger to his chin in bemusement as to what it could be for. However, before he could think about it any further he was once again blinded by the flash of his mother’s camera.
“God damn it mom, stop that!” He screamed out at the top of his lungs as hit the steering wheel with his fist.
Blueblood sighed to himself in content as he slowly walked to the rear of the car, trailing his hand across the hood and roof. He briefly looked inside through the driver’s window before passing it and standing near the back fender. He looked down at the compass looking symbol on the back fender of his car. It was the symbol he had felt best suited him; it was also a symbol for most of his recent misery. He bit his lip slightly as he remembered the first day he even found about having a symbol on the back of the car.
Blueblood stepped on the brakes as hard as he could, making the car’s tires screech against the pavement as he forced the car to a slow down. He turned the steering wheel as fast as he could as the blue car entered the turn. He braked again and pressed down on the clutch before shifting down to first gear. The car shook and swerved as he tried to maintain the steering wheel with just one hand. He almost hit the inside wall before moving his other hand back to the steering wheel to stabilize the car at the last second.
He sighed in relief as he held the steering wheel and kept the car from shaking anymore as it came out of the turn. He stepped on the throttle as hard as possible to make the loud LS9 engine roar furiously. He smiled victoriously as he reveled in the sound of the car’s motor and the feel of the car quickly as it accelerated out of the turn. When he came fully out of the turn, the car picked up speed on the straight road. As soon as he was halfway down the road, he saw his three friends and their respective cars at the end of the road all cheering for him.
His bright smile turned into a smug and arrogant one as he stepped on the brake. He decelerated the car and downshifted to first gear, bringing his car alongside theirs’ on the side of the road. When he stopped he put the car into neutral and pulled on the emergency brake to put it in park. However, he didn’t turn the car off though as he wanted to impress his friends with its loud rumble and revel in the sound himself. When he unbuckled himself and opened the door, his three friends immediately rushed to the door applauding in cheering.
“Man Blueblood that’s your best time yet!” Score cheered happily as he held up a stop watch that showed his respective time.
“Yeah, you’ve already trounced our times, but this is going way beyond the….beyond…ness.” Hoops tried to congratulate nervously as Blueblood slowly exited the blue car.
“Of course, after a year or so of practicing I’ve finally mastered using the manual transmission I’d expect nothing less…” He boasted in with a smug grin still on his face as he swiftly shut the door to his car. “And now that I’m out of High School, I can now fully focus on my professional driving career and work my way to the top…” He went on to remark superciliously as he patted the roof to his supercar, which made his three friends applaud.
“Sweet, so have you registered your car yet?” Dumbbell asked excitedly which made Blueblood blink in confusion and then look at him with all traces of his pride gone.
“Registered?” He softly repeated as he titled his head a bit. “For what?” He asked as he arched his eyebrow softly and took his hand off of his pride and joy.
“You haven’t joined the E.U.P. yet?” Score asked in complete shock as he recoiled a bit as if he took a severe blow to the chest.
“Oh yeah…” Hoops replied with a nod, understating what he was saying which made Blueblood a little disgusted to know that the most dimwitted of the bunch knew something that he didn’t. “It’s this new thing Celestia started up…” He went on to say as Dumbbell reached into his pocket and pulled out his smartphone.
“It’s like a really awesome nationwide racer service for everyone to know what’s going on in terms of upcoming events, weather, and what certain people are up to…” Dumbbell began to explain as he swiped his finger across the screen and tapped one of his apps.
“It’s easy to do and best of all when you sign up you can make your own emblem like this one…” Score added as he turned around and pointed to his grey Honda Civic EJ8 Coupe. Specifically, he pointed to the freshly painted footballs on the back fender.
“Huh…I thought putting little symbols on your back fender was just a stupid trend some people were trying force into existence…” Blueblood remarked dryly as he looked at the Mazda RX-8 belonging to Dumbbell to notice that he took had an emblem on his car as well.
“No, it’s actually really cool! It’s called a Qualification Trade-mark or Q.T. Mark…” The RX-8 owner explained as he got up alongside him and held up his smartphone towards his car. “And here’s the best part…” He excitedly exclaimed as he snapped a picture of the Q.T. mark on the back fender. Almost instantly, the app on the phone recognized the picture and brought up Dumbbell’s picture along, a picture of his car, the car’s specs, his statistics, and other details.
“Huh, wow. I’m surprised my aunt organized something like this by herself. She always seemed to behind the times in practically everything…” The blonde haired Corvette driver commented in in slight shock as he continued looking over everything. He never thought in a million years that his technologically inept aunt could do something like this, considering he knew that she didn’t even have a smartphone and always rode around in a twenty year old piece of junk.
He looked over the incredibly long and detailed list of items on Dumbbell’s profile before noticing something that caught his eye. “Teams? You can form teams as well?” He asked in surprise as he took a great interest in knowing that team forming was now a thing. He quickly began to formulate plans on forming his own team that would conquer all of Equestria with him as the team leader and as the best driver around.
“Oh yeah! Team forming is totally a thing as well!” Score confirmed with bright smile and a nod.
“Yeah yeah…me and Score and Dumbbell and…well that’s it…uhhh we’re officially the Cloudsdale Tuner Gang…” Hoops declared enthusiastically as he put an arm around both his compatriots. “You know…seeing as how we’re all from Cloudsdale and everything…” He went on with a smile as his two friends rolled their eyes and shook their heads.
“I see…” Blueblood replied with an eye twitch before shaking his head as well. “Tell me what the top team is so far…” He asked curiously as he wondered if any teams had already made their mark on the community yet.
“Oh that’s easy…” Dumbbell replied with a laugh as he broke away from Hoops. “Right now the best team in all of Canterlot…and all of Equestria period now that I think about it…is your Aunt’s team the Regals…which consists just of her and-”
“My future bride to be! The cutest and hottest girl in like this universe and every universe period! My little Lula dumpling!” Score immediately shouted at the top of his lungs as he shot away from Hoops grip, got on his knees, and looked up at the sky with a hopeful look in his eyes.
“And…her little sister Luna…” Dumbbell finished as they all looked at the Luna fanboy and shook their heads at him.
“Hmmm…” Blueblood began as he looked down slightly and put a finger to his chin. He thought over everything heard and quickly came to a conclusion. “Excellent…my path is clear then…I’ll join my aunt’s team and begin my climb to fame there!” He declared smoothly with a smile as he snapped his fingers and applauded himself internally for his brilliant idea. After all, why bother going through the hard work of starting and forming your own team when someone related to you already has the best and most famed team in the nation?
“You really think you can join that easily? I mean it doesn’t seem like she’s going to be taking in new members…especially given her fame and the crap tons of requests she must already get…” Score responded in a doubtful tone as he titled his head slightly.
“Of course it will be easy… she just won’t accept strangers and losers…I’m her favorite nephew…I’m the one she bought this car for… …” Blueblood responded happily and confidently as he turned around to face his blue car still idling next to him. “Knowing that…why would she turn me down?” He rhetorically asked as he smirked at his car, already anticipating nothing but bright things in his future.
“No?” Blueblood shouted in disbelief, repeating what Celestia had said to him in response to his question. “What do you mean no!?” He demanded as he stood in his aunt’s driveway, facing the much taller and skinnier woman as she stood next to her famous all white NSX.
“Why…Why can’t you let me on your team?” Blueblood repeated after a few seconds of staring at his aunt’s back as the wind began to pick up and blow against her white jacket. “Aunt Celestia!” He screamed at her as she kept facing away at the sunset that permeated a glow off her multi-colored hair and her white Acura.
“Because you’re still not ready…” The elder woman simply replied in a soft tone as she continued looking away.
“What do you mean? I’ve been asking the same thing for about a year now and you won’t give me a straight answer as to why I’m not ready!” He shouted furiously at her as he stomped on the ground like an impatient toddler.
“If you want to know why…then let me teach you…come to some of my sessions and I’ll show you what you’re lacking…” Celestia softly explained as she gradually turned around to face him as the sun continued to set behind her. “And in time…you shall be ready…” She encouraged positively as Blueblood couldn’t make out her face thanks to the bright sunset behind her. Either way, that answer only served to fuel his frustration.
“I can already drive pretty damn well! I have the fastest car in all of Equestria, not to mention my great looks and charisma!” He yelled at her as he took a step forward towards the older woman. “What the hell else do I need?” He went on to ask almost sarcastically as taller woman shook her head and turned around, opening the door to her white car.
“Celestia!” Blueblood called as the leader of the Regals got into her car and shut the door, not even remotely giving him any kind of response. “Damn you! Why the hell won’t you let me join your team!” He screamed as loud as he could as the white NSX’s engine fired up and roared.
Blueblood clenched his fists as he watched the car’s tires spin and take off, leaving him behind with only a trail of white smoke to be in his presence. “God damn it!” Blueblood swore angrily as he watched the white Acura as long as possible before it disappeared into the sunset.
He stood there bitterly for a few more minutes before slowly turning around and heading back towards Celestia’s mansion and his parked ZR1 right in front of it. As he reached his blue Chevrolet and put his hand on the driver’s door, a loud mocking chuckle caught his ear. He sighed and lowered his head as he immediately recognized the rather fiendish sounding laughter coming from his left.
“Not you again…” He lowly groaned as he looked up to see a female figure in a black jacket descending the small flight of stairs leading down from the front door of the mansion.
“I believe I should be the one saying that to you…” The feminine voice said as she reached the bottom and turned to face him. The jacket’s black hood was covering her head and casting a shadow over most of her face, leaving only her smirking mouth to be visible to Blueblood. “Tell me…do you like getting rejected like every week by Celestia? Or are you really that retarded and think that she might throw you a bone after weeks of begging like a spoiled brat?” The shorter girl asked teasingly as she titled her head slightly.
“Honestly, either one of them is really pathetic, but I just want to know which one is the one warrant my laughter…” The slim girl with a modestly size bust went on to comment with a slight chuckle.
“Shut up…it’s not like you can talk since you’re not a Regal either…” Blueblood shouted back bitterly as the hooded girl casually walked up right next to him.
“Exactly…I’ve been studying under her for a couple of years now and haven’t even gotten close to being accepted onto her team…” She pointed out almost smugly as she stopped and turned her head to face him, unnerving Blueblood slightly as he still couldn’t see her face even when she was right next to him. “So what chances do you think some hopeless loser has in comparison to me?” She went on to playfully asked as she raised her finger and held it mere millimeters away from his nose.
Blueblood scowled and practically hissed violently at her declaration before smiling and folding his arms. “Less than zero percent most likely…” He admitted calmly with a nod, catching the hooded figure off guard slightly as she lowered her finger and took a step back. “Thankfully…I’m not a hopeless loser though…I’m Blueblood the Blue Devil Driver…soon to be the best racer in all of Equestria…” He went onto declare confidently as he looked at the shorter girl with a burning determination in his eyes. The seemingly scrawny girl stood there for a few seconds before a snicker escaped her lips, followed by a few more, and then finally her whole being erupted in laughter.
“H-Holy…Holy crap man!” She struggled to shout in between her bouts of laughter as she held her gut momentarily. “You…You know…I have…I have the Jaws of Life in the trunk of my car…but…but I don’t even think that’s enough to help get your head of your ass!” She went on to insult as she raised a hand to cover her face as she continued to laugh. Blueblood stood there with one of his eyes twitching as he clenched his fists in anger.
“Were…Were you born this way, or was it…was it some horrible tragic accident that…that made you this incompetent asshole with no skill?” She questioned as her laughter began to finally die down.
“I do have skill!” The blonde haired man shouted back as the girl took a deep breath to regain her composure.
“You have no race experience, no reputation whatsoever, and I’m pretty damn sure the car you’re tooling around in is not tuned whatsoever and is the same as the day you got it…” The hooded girl pointed out back in her normal tone as she slowly turned away from Blueblood. “So where the hell do you get off in saying you have skill?” She went on to inquire as she began to walk off while putting her hands in her pockets.
“I just haven’t made my debut yet and haven’t been able to prove myself…Celestia just doesn’t understand that.” Blueblood explained begrudgingly as he watched the hooded girl walk up towards an amber colored SRT Viper GTS with wavy crimson lines going across its side. “But she will eventually, and when she does I’ll be the fast upcoming star of the Regals…” He bitterly finished as he noticed the hooded girl stop in her tracks and quickly turn around to face him again.
“Ok then, let’s see you prove yourself.” The girl challenged confidently with a smirk on her face as she took her right hand out of her pocket. In it was her car’s keyless fob; her thumb clicked a button on the small remote. Behind her, the amber Viper’s headlights blinked a few times and a loud beeping noise were heard, signaling the security system had turned off. “Let’s go…you and me…a quick downhill battle…my Viper GTS against your Corvette ZR1…not only will it be a duel between the longtime rivals the Vette and the Viper…but it’s also a duel between Celestia’s prized pupil in one car and her own flesh in blood in the other…” The hooded girl declared as if advertising the match to an excited fan.
“It would be a hell of an event wouldn’t you think and ample time to prove yourself…” The hooded girl went on in a tempting tone of voice, trying to persuade him to accept. “So what do you say…our cars are both cranking out about six hundred and forty HP and are classified as top tier supercars, so winning against me would definitely be a great start to your envisioned ‘outstanding career’ wouldn’t you say?” She asked as she titled her head and pointed at the taller man. Blueblood stood there and looked at her before looking at the car that he knew was almost on equal footing with his. In his mind, he knew his car was better and that he would still win, but considering who he was facing he thought that he might actually have a chance of losing against her.
“N-No…” He nervously answered with a shake of his head, feeling slightly embarrassed for backing down from a challenge and just knowing that he was going to be called a coward for doing so. “I’m not going to race against you. Your car isn’t even registered for starters!” He explained as he pointed to her car’s back fender and more accurately the lack of a Q.T. Mark.
“Freaking seriously? Are you for real right now?” The slim girl shouted back in disbelief as her arms went limp in disappointment. “Like I even care about that crap! After all, real racers don’t need some online register social media bullcrap in order make the pavement their bitch; they just go out there and do it!” She retorted in an annoyed tone as she weakly raised one of her arms and waved her hand around slightly.
“I’m not racing an off-the-records race against the likes of you…” Blueblood reaffirmed as he folded his arms and narrowed his eyes at her slightly.
“Fine. If that’s how it’s going to be.” She replied with a shrug as she put her car keyless fob back in her pocket and slowly walked back up to him. “You know, it’s hard to believe that Celestia and her little sister, the top racers in the nation, are related to a weak willed little chump like you.” She insulted with a smirk across the visible part of her face.
“You want to say that again…I don’t think I heard you clearly…” The blonde haired man darkly threatened as his fists shook from rage.
The hooded girl’s smile widened to the point where her white teeth were visible and she got on the tips of her toes to put her mouth next to his right ear. “I said that you’re a loser that doesn’t even deserve the right to pump gas into a sports car much less be behind the wheel of one…” She whispered teasingly to him.
Blueblood’s eyes widened as he gritted his teeth and grabbed the collar of the girl’s black jacket. He raised her off the ground and moved her over to the side of the mansion, pressing her against the wall. The sudden force and movement of the action caused the girl’s hood to drop down, exposing her shoulder length yellow and red colored hair, her light blue eyes, and her smirking face. The sight of that arrogant grin still on her face infuriated him even more to the point where he took one his hands off her collar and raised it as if ready to strike her.
“Oh violence now is it?” The two toned haired girl jested with a raised eyebrow as Blueblood held his fist in the air and kept her against the wall. “Fine…go ahead then…I can’t wait to hear Celestia’s when she’s find out you beat up her prized pupil.” The girl teased in an unintimidated tone as she raised up her right hand and tapped his nose playfully with her index finger.
Blueblood gasped at that remark and realized that she was right. Celestia would never even consider letting him join her team if she found out he beat up her personal student. He slowly and begrudgingly set her down on the ground and lowered his fist. He bit his lip to stop himself from saying anything else and turned to head back to his car. He wanted to avoid further confronting the infuriating girl in fear that he might not be able to stop himself next time if she opened her big mouth again.
“You know, even if you broke both my legs and arms, I’d still be a better driver than you…” He heard the girl behind him say to him as he reached his car. He opened the door and briefly looked back to see her still against the wall and looking at him with a victorious look on her face. “You have no skill whatsoever and its people like you that should just stick to driving automatic front wheel drive pieces of shit. You should leave real cars like your ‘Vette to real racers like me.” She went on as she put her hands behind her head and raised her hood back up to once again shroud a majority of her face in shadows.
Blueblood bit his lip some more to the point where he started to bleed and quickly got in the car to avoid hearing the instigating girl. “You’ll never be anything more than a pathetic poser…” He heard her say in an impertinent tone before he closed the door with a loud slam. He immediately pressed the start button, causing the engine to spur to life, and quickly drove off without even putting his seatbelt on. He briefly looked in the rearview mirror to see the girl with her right hand up slowly waving her fingers at him. He groaned to himself as the words of what she said still ringing in his head that would undoubtedly haunt him for a long time to come.
Blueblood reached out to touch the compass shaped Q.T. Mark on the side of his car and rubbed it slightly for a few seconds. Afterwards, he sighed and walked towards the driver’s side door. He slowly reached to the handle and gently grasped it. He took a deep breath before slowly opening it and looking at the interior which didn’t seem have changed but was still an emotional moment for him. He was getting ready to get back in his car after what felt like an eternity. It was actually rare for him to get into his car in this mindset as most of the time he was either angry or distraught. None were more prevalent than the time he thought his chances at joining the Regals were an indefinite no.
Blueblood closed the door to his car as he looked up at Celestia’s mansion for what felt like the thousandth time in the past month. He swore the more he saw it the more it looked like a big castle. He sighed to himself before he put his hands in his pockets and began to stroll towards the massive front stairwell.
He was confident now that Celestia would accept him onto her team given the incident thanks to a surprise event happened over a week ago. He smiled to himself in joy as that incident concerned a certain personal student that Blueblood knew he would never see again. And now that there was nobody Celestia was privately teaching to be the next person to join the Regals, it meant now was a good a chance as any. He just knew she had to accept him this time.
There almost a spring in his step over from how happy he was. When he reached the stairs, he almost felt like an excited kid coming home from school. He looked up the flight of stairs at the mammoth sized double door entrance put a foot on the first step to begin his ascent. However, a strange sight to the right of the stairwell caught his attention. There were two unfamiliar cars parked very close to each other that he knew were not locals. He took his foot of the first step and slowly walked over to the first car which baffled him to no end.
It was a completely white Ford of some kind, but none that Blueblood recognized. He knew from the sleek design and large wide body that it had to be some modern car and clearly somewhat tuned one at that with the presence of a large spoiler on the back. On the back fender was a Q.T. Mark of a shield with a purple star in the center. What shocked and confused him the most about the car was the police headlights on the roof of the car and the obvious police markings on the sides of the car.
“R.G.C…” He read out loud as looked at the side of the car. “Royal Guard Captain?” He went onto read as he looked at the smaller weirds written under the larger abbreviated letters. It was police position he never heard before in his life. As he looked over the car some more he finally noticed that the car wasn’t even an Equestrian registered car. The license plate showed that the car came from the Crystal Empire from up north.
“Geez, did my aunt break an international law, or did that crazy old student of hers flee to the Crystal Empire?” He mused out loud to himself as it certainly wasn’t an everyday sight to see a foreign police car parked outside of someone’s mansion. “What Need for Power game did this car drive out from…after all what kind of cop drives around an obvious racer tuned super car?” He questioned sarcastically as he looked at the other car parked next to it.
When he looked at the car in question, his eyes bulged and he put a hand to his mouth from almost throwing up. He immediately recognized the car as a Ferrari 458 which should have caught his interest instead of repulsion. The most obvious problem with the car wasn’t that it was colored the famous, typical Ferrari red; instead it was painted bright pink. To make matters worse, all across the sides and front bumper of the car were multi-colored hearts scattered about that lead to a very large crystal heart on the back fender.
“Oh my god…what the hell did this person do to this poor Ferrari?” He almost screamed out in horror as he kept looking at the sickeningly colored Ferrari. He shuddered at the thought of some guy dishonoring the car by painting it bright pink. He swore to himself that he would never do the same kind of disrespect to his own car. “Disgusting…” He commented dryly before turning around, unable to look at the revolting car anymore.
Blueblood walked back to the flight of stairs and immediately ascended them as fast as he could to the front door. He immediately knocked on the door after reaching the top and hoped to whatever god was real that somebody would answer the door before he had a chance to look over to his right to see that disgrace again. To his relief, the large right door opened soon and behind it stood Celestia’s younger sister and as of right now the only other member to the Canterlot Regals.
“Ah, Luna!” He greeted cheerfully with a smile as he looked at the irritated looking blue haired woman. “Good to see you! May I come in?” He politely asked as he immediately stepped foot inside the large mansion, earning a disgruntled look from his slightly older Aunt.
“It seems you already let yourself in…” She grumbled almost bitterly in response as she shut the door behind Blueblood after he entered the building.
“Where’s Aunt Celestia?” The self-invited guest asked kindly as he started to look around to see if his aunt was nearby.
“She’s in the main hall.” Luna answered unenthusiastically as she turned around and leaned against the right door. “Though, she’s kind of busy at the moment.” She informed as she folded her arms and eyed Blueblood suspiciously.
“That’s not a problem…” The taller blonde replied with a wave of his hand as he turned and headed down the left hallway. “This won’t take but a moment of her time…” He went onto say as he started to walk down the large hallway filled with random pictures of cars both old and new.
“Nope…I really can’t see it taking that long either…” The blue haired college girl agreed in a dull tone with a slight shake of her head as she watched her nephew walk down the hallway, not moving from her spot.
“I love your positive attitude Luna…I look forward to seeing that every day when we become teammates…” Blueblood declared confidently as he kept walking down the hall, not noticing that his aunt wasn’t behind him or following him. Luna sighed and rolled her eyes at that comment before reaching into her pocket and pulling out her smartphone.
Blueblood proudly marched down the hall towards the main hall and quickly caught the sounds of people already in it. “Y-You really mean it?” A distinctly young voice asked in disbelief as Blueblood reached the end of the hall.
He peaked around the corner to see his aunt at the top of a fancy looking set of grand stairs. At the bottom was a purple haired girl, clearly still in high school since she was wearing a high school uniform. Her moderate violet eyes practically sparkling as she was looking up at the formal looking woman in a white suit. To her right was a taller, slimmer girl with a long flowing hair of violet, gold and primrose that curved at the end. To her left was an equally tall, masculine, and powerful looking man that had looks that put Blueblood himself to shame.
“Of course,” His aunt replied gently with a nod, “We’ll get your first car tomorrow, Twilight…” She added as she started to descend the stairs.
Blueblood’s jaw dropped at that response, but not as much as Twilight’s jaw is looked like it could’ve fallen off her face. “Oh thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!” The high school girl thanked incisively as she started hopping around in glee.
“That…That bitch! You’ve got to be kidding me!” Blueblood whispered in disgust before turning around and starting to storm off angrily. ‘How dare she make her a Regal instead of me? Some random girl over her own blood!’ He furiously mused as he stomped down the hallway back to the front door.
Luna still stood at the front door and heard the stomping sound; she looked up from her phone to see Blueblood returning down the hall. “Well…that didn’t take long!” She exclaimed as she reached out and opened the front door again. “Thanks for stopping by!” She fake thanked with a forced smile as Blueblood past her and out the door.
He stopped and turned around after leaving, huffing, puffing and brimming with anger. “You’ll regret not letting me a part of the Regals! I swear it! You have no idea what you’re lett-” He began to shout angrily before Luna slammed the door in his face.
“I’m sure we’ll manage…” Luna dryly commented as she rolled her eyes.
Blueblood sighed in contempt before slowly getting into the car and into the still uncomfortable bucket seat. She slowly looked around every inch of the interior as if looking around it for the first time. However, from his memory it was still exactly same from the last time he saw it. He looked out his passenger side window and was reminded of when his real problems began. The day that he met two certain girls that lead this inevitable humiliation.
Blueblood turned the steering wheel to his car and wheeled the car onto the campus of his college. He groaned as it had been over two months since he found out that his aunt betrayed him to make some random girl join the Regals. In that time he had decided to form his own team, but for some strange reason he couldn’t find any people to join him or fulfill the minimum requirements of three people to form a team.
He decided to give his college campus as there were fresh meat checking out this college before they graduate from wherever and move to Canterlot. And he knew that most of that fresh meat had to be new racers eager to come here and make a name for themselves, so of course there had be a few that would join him to form a team. He looked around the campus and outside his passenger side window.
When he did, he slammed on the brakes and stared out his window in disbelief. Outside on the campus grounds near a tree was one of the most attractive girls he had ever seen. A gorgeous gentle looking pink haired girl with a sweet face, lean body, and best of all in Blueblood’s mind: huge assets both upper and lower. She had to be fresh meat since he never saw her around and best of all must’ve been single since she was all alone on the campus. Just leaning over looking down at something with one her hands held out.
Blueblood was not going to let this opportunity just walk away. If he couldn’t get his first teammate he might as well get another first for him. He quickly wheeled the car over to the side of the road and turned the engine off, putting the car into neutral and engaging the emergency brake. He flung open the door and practically jumped out of the car. He rushed around the car and almost sprinted at the girl before stopping himself. He stood there for a few seconds and took a few breaths before calming himself.
When felt relaxed and sure enough he started to casually walk over to the girl. The girl didn’t notice him as she was too busy petting a squirrel for some reason. “Hello there..” Blueblood seductively greeted, making the girl squeal loudly and jump up off the ground to face him with a scared expression on her face.
“I haven’t seen you around here…what’s your name?” He asked politely as held his hand out to her.
“Oh…I…Umm..uhhh…hmmm…” The girl frantically whimpered as she backed away from him and against the tree.
“Fluttershy!” Another voice called, a much more feminine and eloquent voice. Blueblood looked over to see a very fancy looking girl with curly purple hair walk over. “Fluttershy where…oh…” She called out once more before stopping as she noticed Blueblood, eyeing him up with her azure eyes and smiling very contently at him.
“Why…hello there…” She politely greeted as she reached her hand up swashed her long hair about. Blueblood caught the hint and was more than happy to take that hint, even if she was less attractive than the girl he previously met.
“Why…hello there yourself.” He greeted back in a nice tone as he turned to face her.
“I see you met Fluttershy already,” The fashionable looking girl said as she walked up, looking at the shy girl who was starting to slowly move around the tree as if trying to escape.
“Yes, but…I’m more interested in you at the moment,” Blueblood responded with a nod as he held his hand out.
“Oh why…I’m Rarity…” The slender girl introduced herself as she held her out for Blueblood to take.
“An elegant name…it suits you...I’m Blueblood…” The attractive man introduced himself kindly as he moved her hand up to his lips and softly kissed it. “And It’s a pleasure to meet you…” he finished as he looked at her with a raised eyebrow, causing her to blush and fan herself lightly with her free hand.
“L-Likewise…” Rarity simply said back as she removed her hand from Blueblood’s.
“I’m assuming you’re new to this area since I’ve never seen you before.” Blueblood said with a smile as he knew he must’ve had her now, even if she wasn’t his original target it was still better than nothing in his mind.
“Why yes, Fluttershy and I just came to this city to visit this college.” Rarity confirmed with a nod as she looked over at the girl who looked like she really didn’t mention her name. “And we were just about to go to lunch actually…” She continued as she walked over to her and grasped her hand, making her squeak nervously.
“Please…allow me to treat you to give you a good impression of your first visit to Canterlot,” Blueblood offered politely as he extended his hand out to the purple haired girl.
“Oh believe me my first impression is more than a little positive,” The azure eyed girl replied in a flirtatious tone, before looking back at her friend. “Oh but I just can’t leave Fluttershy alone…” She pointed out as seemed to sink into the ground as it looked like she wanted nothing more than to get away from the strange guy she never met.
“Oh-Oh…I-It’s…It’s ok Rarity…I…I’ll just be at our hotel room…d-don’t worry about me…” The meek girl reassuringly said as she looked over at her friend with a faint smile on her face.
“You sure Butterfly?” The shorter girl asked in concern as the pink haired girl began to walk away seemingly on the brink of running away.
“O-Oh yes! I-I’ve already eaten anyways...I’ll just meet you back at the hotel when you’re…uh…uhhh…d-done I guess…” She struggled to say as she nodded back to her friend.
“V-Very well Butterfly…I’ll see you later then…” Rarity agreed as she watched her friend walk off to the parking lot.
She turned to face Blueblood and quickly perked up as Blueblood held his arm out. Rarity smiled and wrapped her arm around his before he began to lead her to his car. Thankfully it wasn’t far away and Rarity immediately knew that the car on the side of the road was his. Her eyes lit up upon seeing the expensive lavish looking blue Chevy.
“Oh what a divine car you have there!” She complimented as she let herself be led to the side of the car.
“It’s a Corvette C6 ZR1…the fastest Corvette put to public roads yet…” Blueblood proudly gloated as he opened the passenger side door and helped his soon to be new girlfriend into the bucket seat.
“Oh, that must mean you’re a part of the local racing scene aren’t you?” Rarity asked, completely enthralled as she quickly buckled up.
“Why-Why of course I am! One of the best in fact…” The inexperienced driver lied with a twitch of his eye before shutting the door to his car. He hadn’t been in a single race but wasn’t about to let her know that.
He slowly went around to the other side and opened up the driver’s side door to see her completely mesmerized girl leaning over to watch him get in the car. “Oh my! How simply marvelous! That must mean you’re a part of the Regals if you’re that good right?” She quickly asked as Blueblood buckled himself up.
“Y-Yeah I am in fact! And not only that…but...I’m also Celestia’s cousin…” He half lied in a nervous tone as he turned the car on, hoping the sound of the engine would drown out any sign of weakness in his voice.
“The owner of our school and the greatest racer ever?” The passenger asked in complete disbelief as Blueblood revved up the engine, making it roar loudly.
“The very same!” He proudly confirmed with a confident smile on his face as he reached over and moved the stick shift into first gear.
“Oh, I have to be the luckiest girl in the world to meet someone like you on my first visit!” Rarity dreamily said to herself as she leaned back in her seat whilst Blueblood pressed on the accelerator to make the car start moving.
“Someone who’s also taking you out to lunch…” He reminded her as he turned the steering wheel to turn the car around.
Rarity smiled warmly at him before looking past him and leaning forward. “Oh there goes Fluttershy, hold on…” She replied as she leaned as far as the seatbelt would allow her. “Bye Fluttershy!” She shouted as she waved as hard as she could.
Blueblood chuckled slightly by her gesture, even if he knew she couldn’t hear her from within the car it was still cute. He looked over at the car that Rarity was waving at and stopped the car like earlier, his eyes going wider than before. “A-An NSX!?” He shouted at the top of his lungs as he instantly recognized the car Fluttershy was in.
He just sat there and stared at it, it was the same color as Celestia’s. It was a different model and didn’t have the same modifications as hers but still, the mere sight of it was just so jarring for him. “Is something the matter darling?” He heard Rarity ask next to him.
“N-No…nothing…” He replied as he looked over and smiled over at her, doing his best to shrug off the matter. ‘What car her friend drives doesn’t matter…it shouldn’t…I actually got worse problems now…I have to get into the Regals…I just have to!’ He mused internally as he looked forward and began to drive once again. He knew that if he didn’t join the Regals soon, his soon to be girlfriend would inevitably dump him for lying. So joining the Regals was now more than a matter of being on a recognized famous team, it was now a matter of scoring with a girl and that to him was more important than anything else!
Blueblood sighed as he looked forward and then at his steering wheel. He grasped it slowly before looking in the rearview mirror. He noticed a sticker in his rear window that was backwards thanks to him looking at it through the rear view mirror. But he knew what it said the second he saw it. It said ‘Regals’ which was the sticker he got after he finally joined the Regals after one fateful night.
Blueblood parked in front of Celestia’s mansion on a dark starry night. He got out and quickly ascended the stairs. He knocked on the door as loud as he could, determined now more than ever to get on the team no matter what. He didn’t care that if he was going to seem desperate, he didn’t care that Celestia betrayed him multiple times, and he didn’t care what he had to do to get on the team. He had a girlfriend now that would dump him in a few months when she moved to Canterlot for college after finding out that he wasn’t on the Regals. He couldn’t let that happen, so he was determined to do whatever it took to win over Celestia.
The door slowly opened and on the other side was the high school girl Celestia picked over him that he saw earlier. “O-Oh Blueblood…” She greeted softly as she recognized the tall man in front of her.
“I’m sorry but this isn’t the best of-AHH!” She tried to continue before being pushed out of the way by the taller and stronger Blueblood.
“Get out of the way Twilight Sparkle…” She darkly commanded as he entered the house and stormed into the mansion. “Where’s Celestia?”
“S-She’s in the main living room, but you really shouldn’t see her!” Twilight responded and warned at the same time as she shut the door behind Blueblood.
Blueblood ignored Twilight’s voice and internally programmed his mind to flat out ignore her voice for the rest of the voice. He stomped as loud as he could through the hall as a nagging voice pestered him along the way. When he entered the living room in question he saw his Aunt
Luna sitting on a nearby soft chair next to a couch that was facing away from him. There was a familiar sight of Celestia’s long flowing multi-colored hair draped over the side letting him know that she was on the couch.
“Sister…it’s not your fault…really…” The blue haired girl said in a comforting tone, a tone Blueblood didn’t think Luna couldn’t even attempt to have. “Accidents happen…and who knows...when they find her she might be alive…” She reassured as Blueblood continued to stomp up closer to them.
“And no matter what you won’t get in trouble thanks to…” She continued before she looked up to notice the furious looking blonde, adopting an equally angry look on her face in response. “What the hell are you doing here?” She darkly asked the intruder as she slowly got up from her spot.
“Celestia!” Blueblood called, ignoring Luna completely as he didn’t even bother to look at her. “I demand you let me on your team!” He demanded firmly as he walked up to the back of the couch, looking down to see his aunt lying on her back with her head looking off to the side at nothing in particular. Her expressionless face didn’t even bother registering the angry man as she continued to stare blankly at nothing, not even blinking.
“You disgusting waste of flesh…you dare storm in here and ask that of her at a time like this?” Luna furiously asked as she clenched her fists ready to punch the ignorant man. “That’s so low that even the scum of the earth take pride knowing that they look down on you you filthy sack of-”
“Luna…” Celestia gently called, making Luna stop her insult and gasp, immediately looking down at her older sister in concern. “Please stop…” She softly pleaded as she continued looking off at nothing, not even changing her gaze as a few tears appeared in her eyes.
“Sister…” Luna called as she bent down and grasped one of her limp hands.
“Celestia!” The uncaring man shouted, still ignoring the situation unfolding in front of him. “You will let me on the Regals! I won’t accept no for an answer and I’m not leaving until you do!” He demanded once more as he stomped on the floor.
Luna looked up at Blueblood with the furious expression returning to her face like it never left. She started breathing heavily and opened her mouth to snap at him once again. “Do what you want…” Celestia almost monotonously replied before Luna could say anything, surprising everyone in the room.
“Wh-What? R-Really?” Blueblood asked in disbelief as his jaw hung open and his eyes widened farther than he ever thought possible.
“Sister you can’t be-”
“I don’t care…just do what you want and leave this old middle-aged girl alone…I don’t have the right to do anything…not to say no…not to drive a car…and certainly not own one anymore…” The broken woman replied, cutting off Luna as she slowly rolled over away from younger sister to face the back of the couch. “Please…just…go…” She seemed to beg as her voice started to crack as if she was starting to cry.
“Sister!” Luna called frantically as she reached over and put an arm around her suffering older sister.
Blueblood stood exactly where he was still with that shocked look on his face, still unable to register what exactly had just happened. Eventually though, reality finally to sink in and with it a big grin stretched across his face. “Excellent Celestia! This is the best decision you have ever made! You won’t regret it!” He gleefully responded as he held up a fist and pumped it into the air in a celebratory fashion.
Luna darkly looked up at Blueblood before looking behind him at the other girl in the room. “Get him out of here Twilight! Or else there will be two accidents tonight and this one can confirm to be a brutal murder!” She lividly commanded Twilight with a wave of her other hand.
Blueblood felt someone grab his lowered arm and precede to try and lead him out of the room. The person was obviously too weak to do so and Blueblood pushed aside the unknown irritation before turning to leave himself. He had sorted out his business in his mind and had no reason to stay. He proudly walked out of the room as that fluttering mystery nuisance followed him like a pestering bug that wouldn’t go away.
‘I…I did it…I’m…I’m a part of the Regals now…’ He mused victoriously in his mind as he left the mansion, the door slamming behind him. He didn’t care though, he proudly strut to his car feeling as though his biggest ordeal was now over. ‘Now my rise to stardom can really begin!’ He cheered internally as he quickly got in his car, ready to begin his conquest of the street racing scene.
Blueblood looked to his right to his passenger side mirror and then to his left at his driver’s side. He looked at his unilluminated dashboard and then proceeded to gently reach out to touch it, looking at the speedometer and the rev meter. He smiled as he knew his car was once again the fastest in Canterlot, as it should’ve been before his aunt wrongfully stole that right. He stopped touching the dash and gritted his teeth as he remembered the horrible life ruining memory.
Blueblood entered his cheap one bedroom apartment and sighed contently. He flipped on the barely functional light before walking across the creaking floor over to his stained sofa. He plopped down on it and reached over to grab his used dirt cheap laptop. He took a deep breath before opening it up, a bright smile on his face.
“Everything’s right with the world…” He muttered softly to himself as he waited for the ancient laptop to power on. “I got the fastest car in Canterlot, I’m a part of the most recognizable team in Equestria, if not the world, and I’ve got a hot girlfriend already clamoring at my feet.” He proudly out loud like checking off a list as his laptop finally turned on.
“The only thing that would make it better would be if that other hotter girl was the same way, but oh well…in time perhaps…after all I have to start out somewhere…” He said almost complete sure that would happen as he logged into his device.
“Speaking of which…it’s time to start my rise to fame…” Blueblood confidently started as he hooked up to his neighbor’s Wi-Fi and connected to the internet. “Who’s going to be my first tally in my victory column…” He asked no one in particular as he logged into the E.U.P. to begin his search for a suitable target.
When he accessed his account he noticed he had a notification. Since he rarely got any he decided to check it. “Hmmmm?” He hummed to himself as he read over the details to the notification. “Luna’s got a new GT-R…” He eventually said after reading the details of the notification.
“Seriously…doesn’t she already have like…five of those damn cars…why does she need another one?” He asked a bit annoyed as he further read the details, looking at the pictures, briefly grazing over the many comments posted by her many adorning fans that would soon be Blueblood’s fans. His stopped his scrolling when he looked over the specs of the car and gasped. “Seven hundred horsepower…wait…no!” He read out loud in horror as his eyes went wide.
“That bitch!” He shouted bitterly as he raised his fist and smacked the shoddy laptop, making it flicker from the impact. “She got a faster car than me! And on the eve of my debut no less!” He theorized as he knew his car had six hundred and fifty, a bit lower than Luna’s but enough to make his car the second fastest car in Canterlot.
“She just did that to freaking spite me!” He further added as he clicked on a new tab and began to search for auto shops nearby. “I’ll show you! I’ll upgrade my car to be like ten times faster than yours! I’ll never let you have the faster car! Never!” He declared furiously as he began to look up cheap shops that would upgrade his car to back at the top of the fastest car’s list, where it rightfully belonged in his mind.
He gripped the steering wheel hard as he could possibly place that moment as the start of all his misfortunes. He looked up and around the outside of his car, looking at the most empty black garage for the crazy and unusual person that agreed to upgrade his car for him. He couldn’t find him anywhere as he seemed to disappear into thin air. Blueblood didn’t seem to mind his absence, he actually would’ve preferred it if he never saw the person again. He honestly would have really preferred it if he never met the man period as the memory of their first meeting came to mind.
“So this is the place huh?” Blueblood asked himself as he pulled up on the emergency brake, parking the car. He looked out the window at the large dealership and up at the huge sign that read ‘Pandemonium Car Emporium! Where our prices are chaotically low!’ He shut off his Corvette and slowly got out of his vehicle. He looked around the dealership lot to see not a single customer around and instead a wide variety of cars for sale.
He slowly made his way inside and into the show floor where more cars of all shapes and sizes greeted him. What he still didn’t see was the sight of a single person, not a customer, salesman, mechanic, or even the owner for that matter. He slowly wormed his way through the calls, getting closer to the center. He quickly noticed a very peculiar sight, it was a stone Lamborghini on top of a large round pedestal.
When he got closer he noticed that it wasn’t made out of stone completely. The texture was rough and uneven, very bumpy at times, and most importantly was the sight of rubber from the tires peeking out from below all the material. It was if somebody poured concrete all over the poor exotic car. He didn’t know how bad to feel over the sight because he couldn’t make out what the exact model of the Lamborghini was thanks to all the concrete distorting everything. He raised his eyebrows at the strange sight before turning and looking around some more.
“Uh, hello?” He called loudly as he walked away from the pedestal and towards a rather nice looking Ferrari 360 Modena. “Oh nice…a Ferrari…” He admired with a smile before large crash came from right in front of him.
The force of the crash send him falling over on the ground as bits of metal and glass landed next to him. He looked up to see that the Ferrari he had just been standing next to was all but flattened underneath a very large anvil. The once expensive vehicle turned into instant scrap metal thanks to this.
“Wh-What the hell?” Blueblood shouted as he shot back up to his feet, keeping eye contact with the destroyed car as he started to back up slowly. He turned around to see a skinny old man with a white goatee standing right in front of him.
He was preparing to leave just in case more anvils came crashing down before backing up into something…something warm and distinctly human. He turned around to see tall, skinny looking man with a goatee standing before him. The mixed up looking person looked past him at the sight of the destroyed vehicle before chuckling softly to himself. He took out a handkerchief and briefly wiped his eyes before placing it back.
He put the handkerchief back in his pocket and quickly pulled out a smart phone. “Berry Punch, bring me the Ferrari California next please…” He politely asked over the phone, blatantly ignoring Blueblood.
“What the…who the hell is this…and how did you get my num-?” The female voice on the other end asked before Discord hung up and put his phone away.
“Mmm? Oh hello there!” He finally greeted as he looked down to notice the frightened looking man. “Sorry about that, I was just doing some house cleaning!” He informed Blueblood with a wide smile across his face, showing off his misshapen teeth.
“H-House cleaning?” Blueblood repeated in disbelief as he stared at the taller man.
“Yes, and I’m starting by ridding my shop of all the useless vermin…” The red eye man replied with a nod before raising both his hands up. “It’s actually the best part about house cleaning…” He added as he rubbed his two gloved hands together in glee.
“Anyways, I’m the salesman and fine tuner of chaos…Discord…” He introduced as he took a polite bow. “What can I do for you Mr….” He went onto ask as he looked back up and purposely paused his visitor to finish the sentence.
“Blueblood…” The guest quickly answered as he extended his hand for Discord to take and shake.
Discord looked at it briefly with an eyebrow raised before looking outside at Blueblood’s ZR1. “And I’m assuming that Blue Devil is yours correct?” He asked in response as looked back at the undoubtable owner of the vehicle.
“Of course, I deserve nothing less wouldn’t you agree?” Blueblood smugly replied as he raised his hand up to whish his hair slightly in arrogance.
“Not really, I just wish you came here to buy one of these crap Ferrari’s off of me…” The dealership owner replied, ignoring his display as he passed Blueblood to walk up to the crushed Ferrari. “You haven’t come here to buy one right?” He quickly asked as he kicked the pile or wreckage with his foot.
“No! I came here for you to upgrade my car!” Blueblood shouted back at him, prompting the weird salesman to turn back around and look at him completely confused.
“I can do that?’ He inquired back as he titled his head.
“It says so on your ads! Hell it even says out front on the billboard!” The furious blonde haired man screamed ta him as he pointed behind Discord. The salesman looked around at a nearby billboard that said ‘I can also upgrade cars!’ written in big bold letters underneath the name of his shop.
“Oh right…I forgot about that damn thing…I wonder how long it’s been up…” He pondered to himself out loud as he raised his yellow gloved hand and proceeded to rub the back of his head with.
“And it also mentions that you’ll do it for dirt cheap!” He added as further pointed at the billboard, at the words that said ‘And I’ll do it for dirt cheap!’ right under the previous sentence.
“That’s a really an oddly convenient sign isn’t it?” He commented with a slight laugh before turning around with a bright cheerful smile on his face. “Oh well…so what kind of upgrade are you looking for?” He happily inquired as he raised up both his hands and walked up to the now excited Blueblood.
“A horsepower upgrade! At least like one hundred!” The Corvette owner immediately detailed as he pointed out to his car. Discord smiled and wasted no time as he quickly reached into his salesman coat and pulled out a rather large calculator that looked like it was thirty years old and required paper.
“Ok let’s see if my math is right then…horse power upgrade…necessary parts…manual labor…divide by zero, carry the fish, don’t forget to add the sixty nine, andddddd….” He mumbled to himself as he pressed some buttons on the old machine, prompting it to make some loud clicking noises as the paper extended. “This is the total you’re looking at!” He finished as he ripped off the strand of paper and handed it to the suspicious younger man.
Blueblood hesitantly took the strand of paper and looked at it for a grand total of two seconds before his eyes bulged out. “Are you kidding me? I don’t have that kind of money!” He shouted back at the shop owner as he tossed the paper to the ground.
“Well, I’m sorry, but I just can’t help you then now can I…” Discord responded as he tossed the large calculator aside, making it crash through the window with a loud smash. “Now back to you buying these awful Ferraris off my hand...” He more enthusiastically went on as he gestured Blueblood to one of the cars behind him.
“If I can’t afford a performance upgrade, what makes you think I can afford one of those?” The poor car owner pointed out as he stomped his foot on the ground, only getting a shrug from Discord in response. “Look do you know who I am?” He quickly asked in an offended tone as he put a hand on his chest.
“Uhhhh…no…I mean I kind of sort of do since I know your name after I asked it like three minutes ago…” He uncaringly replied as he slowly walked past Blueblood completely uninterested.
“Exactly! I’m Blueblood! Of the Canterlot Regals!” The racer shouted as loudly and as proudly as he could. Discord immediately stopped in his place and remained motionless at what the young man had shouted. “Doesn’t that mean anything?” The Regal member quickly as he folded his arms as if demanding respect.
Discord slowly turned around in a slightly discomforting manner before looking at Blueblood with almost a vile look in his eyes. “…the Regals you say…so…you’re a part of Celestia’s team?” He asked in a much lower and dryer ton as his once friendly and wide smile changed into a more subtle smirk.
“Not only that! But I’m her cousin!” Blueblood informed him proudly as he smiled and raised his head up.
“Well…why didn’t you say so…” Discord responded in that soft tone as he slowly began approaching him with lingering steps. “That automatically applies you for the special premium assistance plan my dear boy…” He informed him with a low chuckle as he raised his right hand up and snapped his fingers, prompting a banner to appear behind him with the words ‘Special Deal!’ written on them.
“Well…it’s about time I got some recognition…what does this plan detail?” The oblivious man asked back in an entitled tone as Discord continued his slow advance.
“I’ll make your car the fastest car in Equestria…I’ll give a thousand horsepower, torque like you wouldn’t believe, a suspension set up that would make your aunt cry bloody tears, and best of all make your car unbeatable for as long as you live…” The somber owner eloquently put with a much wider, though nowhere near as friendly smile, his jagged tongue jutting out to briefly lick his distorted teeth. “And I’ll do it…for free…” He finished as he reached the undeterred man and put a hand on his shoulder, grasping it firmly.
“Now that’s what I’m talking about!” Blueblood shouted back as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his keyless fob. “When can I expect this hyper car to be done?” He excitedly asked as he put it in Discord’s free hand.
“Oh…it will take some time…I’m going to take my sweet time. After all, you can’t rush…” He softly answered as he briefly paused to move his other hand off of Blueblood’s shoulder and up to the side of his face. “Perfection, now can you my friend...” He finished as he playfully patted the side of Blueblood’s face a few times, his red eyes seeming to burn with a fiery intensity.
“Fine,” The light blue eyed guy reluctantly said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small card. “Here’s my racer card, it has my number on it so call me when it’s ready…” He instructed the shop owner as he placed the card in Discord’s other hand like he was handing him a business card.
Blueblood turned around and headed to the exit as Discord looked at the card briefly before crumpling it up and tossing it aside. “Thank you for your contribution…I’m so honored to be servicing my old friend Celestia by helping you out…” The ominous middle-aged man thanked lowly as he slowly raised his hand to slowly wave goodbye to the young guy.
Blueblood naturally walked up to his car, but found that it had locked and he had no way of entering it. “Crap, that’s right…I don’t have a car now! What I am supposed to drive now?” He shouted in realization as it finally dawned on him that he would be carless for a while.
He folded his arms and began to think things over in his head. He couldn’t go without a car because he was a racer and a racer without a car was like a painter without a paint brush. “I guess I can use one of Luna’s GT-Rs…she has like…a lot of those damn cars and wouldn’t notice if one was gone every now and again…” He concluded in his mind as he sighed and turned to begin his long slog all the way home.
“Besides…she got me into this predicament…it’s the least she can do to repay me for prolonging my rise to stardom.” He mumbled bitterly to himself as he knew the upgrade process wouldn’t take THAT long…right?
Blueblood grinded his teeth slightly as what happened was almost two months ago. All that time he was forced to drive his aunt’s car and all that time he waited patiently for his car to be completed. It went on up until two days ago where things began to go sour for him real fast. He could almost say without a shadow of a doubt that the last night he spent with his former girlfriend was the night all his miseries started and then spiraled out of control.
“No Blueblood…” Rarity softly denied as the taller man kissed at her neck and moved his hands under her silk night gown, up the side of her thigh. “I said no!” She more firmly commanded as she pushed him away, causing him to stumble and fall back onto the couch.
“You can’t be serious…” Blueblood grumped disappointedly as he folded his arms in protest.
“Darling, you should know that I’m nothing BUT serious…” The younger girl reminded him in a stern voice. “And when I say no, I mean no!” She declared as she held a finger up as if scolding him like a child.
“But, the way you’re dressed…” He began as he looked over his girlfriend’s attire.
The silk transparent purple night gown loosely covered her body down to her hips practically left nothing to the imagination. If it wasn’t for the small tight looking undergarments she had underneath her thin night gown one might mistake her for being completely naked. It was incredibly appealing and led Blueblood to believe that she had other things in mind other than sleep if she was wearing that.
“Just because I’m absolutely ravishing and irresistible doesn’t mean I’m ready to do anything to pleasure you tonight…” Rarity explained with a sigh as she turned around and headed for her bedroom.
“You never do anything for me period!” He pointed out a bit angrily as he shot up off the couch and quickly followed her.
“I’ve told you this numerous times Blueblood…I will reach that phase of our relationship when I’m ready…” The fashionista reminded him as she entered her bedroom or as she called it her ‘inspiration room.’ “And right now, I’m most certainly not…” She finished as she walked over to one of her unfinished dresses on a mannequin with Blueblood following behind her.
“I want it to be special, something magical, and something I can cherish forever…” She started to elaborate in a slightly dreamy tone as she leaned against the mannequin with a happy smile on her face. “And most importantly, it has to be earned…not just given out like it was a useless commodity…” She quickly added in an aggravated tone as she rolled her eyes and waved her hand slightly.
“And so far…you haven’t earned anything…there has been no magic, no charm, and especially no romance…” She finished, sounding even more annoyed as she turned around and pointed at Blueblood.
“How can there be if you barely let me kiss you…” The attractive man asked trying to make a gentle tone as his girlfriend turned around to grab a thread and needle. “Let me show you the true extent of my passion for you…” He offered in a seductive tone as he walked up behind her and put his arms around her waist, starting to roam them around on his own accord.
“No…” Rarity firmly denied as she pushed him off and away from her. “Please leave…” She seriously commanded as she pointed at the door behind him, giving him a fierce look in her azure eyes.
“W-What?” Blueblood asked with a slight stutter, not believing what she had just said to him.
“I don’t have time for this tonight…I have to get these dresses done by tonight for my class tomorrow, and if you won’t behave yourself I’m afraid you’re going to have to leave then…” The purple haired girl explained to him without the faintest hint of remorse in her voice as she continued working on her dress like it was more important than him.
“Fine…” Blueblood huffed angrily before turning around and leaving her room, heading to her apartment door.
“We’ll talk more in the morning Blueblood…” Rarity’s voice said from her room as Blueblood opened the door to leave.
“Yeah…sure…” He uncaringly said back before leaving, almost slamming the door behind him.
“Well…that’s it…” He said to himself as he started to descend the stairs as fast as he could. “I’m through with her…” The blonde decided as he felt that waiting a couple of months was too long for him, after all why would he care about some girl who refused to put out when soon he would have girls lining up just begging for him?
He smiled at that thought as he left the apartment building, jogging up to his ‘procured’ Skyline GT-R R34 that he was ‘borrowing’ from his Aunt. He opened the door and got in the seat, slamming the door as hard as he could. He wasn’t going to bother stopping by the next morning to pick her up. No, he was done, she could find her own way to school and hopefully that would give her the message that he was done with her.
He buckled up before starting the R34’s engine up. The engine howled as he revved it up. He put the car into first gear and then started to make his final leave of the apartment complex. As he reached the exit to the parking lot, he briefly looked into his rear view mirror to spot that white NSX that belonged to Rarity’s friend. He sighed in relief as he knew the best part about breaking up with her was that he wouldn’t see that stupid car ever again.
Blueblood scowled angrily as it wouldn’t be a full day before he WOULD see that car again and in the worst way possible. That brought him to what happened yesterday, to what would seal his fate and his embarrassment. The event that would be forever burned into his memory for as long as he lived and that wouldn’t live down until he avenged it himself. The whole ordeal that forced him to get his car now even though he didn’t get a call yet saying it was ready. The event that won’t stop playing in his mind over and over again, making more pissed off by the second.
Blueblood groaned as he shifted the car into third gear and pressed down on the accelerator as hard as he could, trying to pull as far ahead of the Acura as he could. The next right turn came up and Blueblood didn’t brake at all, instead just flinging the car into the turn as far to the inside as he could. He smiled as he went through the turn smoothly at first, thinking he would gain some more distance on the car behind him. All of a sudden, a huge amount of dirt appeared the inside, and Blueblood had no time to react and hit it. The black Nissan jumped slightly off the ground and almost hit the guardrail as the white NSX behind it went to the outside again.
It easily pulled alongside the GT-R as the blonde driver struggled to regain control of the car. Immediately afterwards, the white car flew passed him and got out in front of his R34. Blueblood gasped in horror as he watched the car pass him, not because he got passed but because of the look of the NSX passing him. The headlights were fixed instead of pop up, and the rear end had a stock spoiler instead of the fancy custom one that Celestia had on hers.
‘Wait a second…that doesn’t look like Celestia’s NSX…th-that’s…’ He frantically said in his mind as he now recognized the true owner of his car and knew it wasn’t his aunt. “Fluttershy…” He muttered out loud in disbelief as he watched the white Acura ahead of him straighten out and accelerate away from his black car.
“You know who she is?” Luna asked dryly, getting a quick nod from Blueblood.
“Find her then…challenge her…and beat her in a race so bad she’ll regret ever setting foot in that car!” She instructed in a low menacing tone as she pulled his face closer to hers and scowled at him. “That’s the only way to redeem yourself and not drag down all our names in the mud!” She finished as she got back in her car, shut the door, and started the engine. The car’s tires squealed against the pavement, kicking up white smoke before it slowly turned around and zoomed out of the lot.
The blonde haired man breathed heavily as he regained his balance and quickly straightened out his clothes. “Don’t worry…I’ll get my revenge…there’s no way I’ll let a humiliating defeat at the hands of a commoner stand!” He eventually replied to the dark-blue haired woman in a determined tone. “I swear I’ll get her!’ He then shouted angrily as he raised his hand up and clenched it into a fist.
“Are you done now?” A loud annoyed voice from beside Blueblood asked.
“Ah! What the hell?” Blueblood screamed in shock as he looked to his right to see Discord sitting in the passenger seat next to him looking a little less than an amused.
“Seriously, the amount of flashbacks you’ve been having is starting to make me think that you’ve had some horrible blunt head trauma recently!” The disgruntled man asked with narrowed eyes as he reached his right gloved hand up and tapped Blueblood’s head.
“How did you…” The confused racer began to ask before stopping and shrugging off the question. He probably snuck in when he was in the middle of one of his flashbacks “Ah forget it!” He shouted as he raised his hand up and swatted Discord’s fist away.
“Is the car ready for me to take…as in…right now?” He quickly asked as he wanted to leave as soon as possible, it was almost time for school and he a certain girl he needed revenge on.
“Oh…yeah…I guess it is?” Discord vaguely responded with a shrug of his shoulders as stroked his small goatee.
“Really?” The Corvette owner shouted in disbelief as he leaned over and grabbed the car dealer’s color. “Why didn’t you call me to let me know it was ready?” He furiously asked as he shook the smirking mechanic, thinking it was most likely done yesterday or maybe earlier and that he could’ve saved some humiliation by having his car yesterday instead of Luna’s GT-R
“Well because obviously I just got it done today and you already showed up before I could make the call…” Discord explained with a chuckle as he grabbed Blueblood’s hands. “…duh!” He finished as he tossed his assailant’s hands off of him and fixed his slightly ruffled outfit.
“Agh, whatever!” The getting angrier by the second blonde shouted in exasperation as he threw up his hands. “Look I need my car back now! I got a race quickly coming up and I need it to trounce them into dust for what they did to me yesterday!” He quickly explained as he pointed at Discord, almost in a threatening manner.
“Ohhhhh…well…if that’s the case then…” The unchanged Discord began as he reached into one of his pockets. He took a few seconds to feel around his pockets, then he reached into another one, and then into one of his back pockets. He scratched the side of his face, looking up for a second before snapping his fingers, smiling, and reaching over behind Blueblood’s ear. “Here you go…” He finally finished as he somehow pulled out the smart key out.
“At last…” Blueblood whispered in delight as he swiped the smart key out from Discord’s hand. “It’s about time…” He added as he placed the smart key in his pocket and then reached over to press the start engine button.
The car took a few seconds to start up, a few seconds longer than it normally would Blueblood noticed. When it did it didn’t sound as loud as before and sputtered a few times. He pressed down on the accelerator and revved the engine. Again it sounded softer and even stranger the car shook more than usual when he did. There also wasn’t any hint of a whistling sound, normally when he pressed on the accelerator and let off there would be the faint sound of a hiss or whistle. Now there was nothing which made Blueblood cock his head a bit.
“My car sounds and feels really weird...” He commented as he looked over to see Discord opening the door to the car.
“You were expecting it to sound exactly the same after I upgraded it?” Discord responded after a quick laugh as he turned to get out of the car. “You fool…come on…you should know that it’s going to sound and perform completely differently from what you’re used to…” He went on as he got out of the Corvette.
“Or are you just that ignorant to not notice anything?” He quickly asked the driver back as he turned around and gave the owner a smug smile and a teasing look in his red eyes.
“N-No…of course not…I was just taken back by it is all!” The blonde haired man shouted back in a stutter, not wanting to seem like a complete amateur as he revved the engine more. “It sounds great! I feel like I out race the speed of time itself with this car!” He complimented with a smile as he gave a thumbs up to the dealership owner.
“Ahhh…I’m glad you think so…” Discord happily responded as he tapped the roof of the Corvette with his left hand. “Enjoy you’re new…upgraded cars…” He encouraged before laughing and shutting the car door.
Blueblood eyed him curiously as Discord took a few steps away from his blue car. The taller, skinnier man turned and snapped his fingers, causing another light to turn on at the opposite end of the room. Blueblood looked forward to see a large garage door opening under the newly lit light and through the opening door was a road that led to the outside. Blueblood caught the hint as he pressed down on the clutch with his left foot and moved the shifter in his right hand to first gear, hearing a very loud scrapping noise as he did.
He looked down at the shifter, which never made a sound that loud before, but shrugged it off as another ‘upgrade.’ He looked back at Discord and saw that he was slowly walking away. He thought about just quickly leaving to never see the man again, but something was nagging in the back of his mind. He moved his right hand over to the winder buttons and lowered his passenger side window down.
“Hey Discord…one more question…” He shouted, making Discord stop and slowly turn around with a fake innocent look on his face. “I know you’re weird and all…but I have to know…why is there a Lamborghini covered in stone in the show floor of your dealership?” Blueblood asked curiously as he remembered the stone Lamborghini he passed by when he first arrived and again when he came back.
Discord’s face quickly changed from faux innocence to dark malevolence as he began to walk back up to the car. “If you wanted to destroy it or break it…then you’ve already did enough to it…so why is it just sitting there?” He rephrased as he titled his head a bit in confusion at the sight of the slowly approaching man.
Discord breathed heavily as he slowly walked up to the passenger side door. He slowly looked at the Blueblood with his narrowed and raised his fists as if to punch the oblivious man. “…good luck in your race today…” He encouraged in a very light tone as he his face changed back to pleasant and his hand entered the car out for Blueblood to take.
“Uhh…ok…” The blonde haired man responded as he reached his hand out to take and shake. When he did Discord pulled him closer right up to his face to see him scowling again. Discord huffed as he moved over next to his ear.
“And if you see your dear Aunt Celestia again…tell her that Discord says that the bananas are always ready to be picked once more…” He whispered aggressively into his ear before letting go and pulling away, once again showing that overly positive look on his face.
“Uhh…sure…I guess…” Blueblood responded shaking a bit in fear as he immediately regretted asking that question. “I’ll…I’ll just be going then…” He added as he quickly rolled up the window to his car.
Discord took a few steps back as the Corvette’s engine revved up for a few seconds before finally starting to move. He raised his hand and waved as the ZR1 slowly made its way to the exit. The tall dealership owner started to chuckle lowly as he watched the car leave his shop and out to whatever race he mentioned earlier.
“What a complete waste of space…” Discord lowly commented as he quickly snapped his fingers, causing the garage door to slowly close once more. “And speaking of wastes of space…” He added as he raised his other hand to snap his other fingers.
Another light turned on at the far end of the room and revealed another car. This one was a red sleek Enzo Ferrari, a very rare and expensive vehicle. The proud and sleek car was parked beautifully at the end of the garage, its massive 6.0 liter Tipo F140 V12 engine able to crank out over six hundred and fifty horses or raw power, easily capable of sending the car at speeds that would cause people of lesser stomachs to lose their lunches. It’s one of the prides and joys of Ferrari and of the automotive world period.
Discord hummed happily as he casually strutted back over to his chocolate milk dispenser. He got himself another glass of chocolate milk in his personalized glass before turning around to look at the emasculate vehicle. He took a few sips before warmly sighing to himself. After a few seconds he whistled loudly. All of a sudden a large anvil appeared out of nowhere and fell to the ground above the Enzo.
It landed with a crash and somehow managed to miss the Enzo by at least barely a few centimeters. It made a big crater where it landed and the force of the landing caused the Enzo next to it to shake slightly before stabilizing. Discord’s eyes bulged out, resembling baseballs, as he stared at the anvil half sunk into the ground and more importantly the still intact car, seeming to sparkle as if to mock him.
His hand holding the glass of chocolate milk shook before he tossed it to the ground. The glass broke and the chocolate milk splattered all over the hard floor as Discord turned to forcefully push over the cholate milk dispenser with a loud scream. The dispenser fell over and broke into multiple pieces, which sent chocolate milk of all kinds spilling all over the floor. After it fell it revealed a small hole from where it was stationed and Discord quickly reached into the small hole.
He pulled out a long military grade RPG and yelled as he quickly aimed at it at the poor defenseless vehicle. He pulled the trigger and the warhead at the end fired forward at an incredible speed. It struck the Enzo and exploded in a massive blast. The ball of flames that was once a perfect vehicle launched into the air before landing to the left a molten pile of garbage.
Discord laughed as hard as he could as he tossed aside the now used RPG, pieces of metal from the blast still scattering everywhere. He danced about happily as he continued laughing, even going as far to tear off his overcoat and swing it in the air amidst his ceaseless joy. Tears began freely falling down the sides of his face as continued to dance in place. Eventually his laughter and dancing died down before he stopped and looked back at the still burning pile of scrap metal.
“Oh, that was just too perfect…” He said after his bouts of joy finally stopped, putting his coat back on. He took out his handkerchief and began to wipe his tear filled eyes. “Wait a second…” He suddenly said as his eyes bulged again, his actions stopping in place.
“I just blew up a million dollar Enzo Ferrari…one of only four hundred in the entire world!” He realized as he looked back at the burning heap. “What have I done! No!” He screamed out loud as he got to his needs and gripped the sides of his hair.
“I was supposed to destroy the 360 Modena!” He remembered as he started to cry tears of pain instead of joy. He quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out his smart phone. “Berry Punch you’re fired!” He screamed as loud as he could, firing the girl for not following his earlier instructions.
“Quit calling me you mother fu-!” The girl on the other end shouted back before Discord hung up the phone and tossed it aside.
Discord continued to cry in remorse as he stared at the former car turned flaming wreck. “Now what will I blow up next week?” He asked no one in particular before planting his face into the chocolate milk soaked floor, crying over messing up his order of blowing up useless Ferraris. After all he had to rid the world of Ferraris the WRONG way instead of the right way. It was what he was meant to do! But now he failed and had to reorganize his schedule…and reorganizing his schedule was the only chaotic thing he did NOT like doing.
Blueblood pressed down hard on the accelerator, causing the engine to roar with the occasional sputter. He smiled as his car picked up speed down the road and quickly shifted the car into third gear, hearing that loud scrapping noise even over the engine.
‘My car is perfect!’ Blueblood shouted as he pressed down on the accelerator again, quickly approaching a wide left turn. ‘Now nothing and no one can possibly beat me!’ He theorized arrogantly as braked hard, pressed on the clutch, and moved the stick shift into second gear.
‘Just you wait Flutterbitch…because you’re going to be my first victim…’ He darkly said in his mind as he turned the steering wheel as hard as he could, almost hitting the outside wall as he entered the wide turn. ‘I’m going to trash you and humiliate you so badly that you’ll regret ever setting foot in this city!’ He finished as he exited the turn and picked up speed down the straight.
“I swear it!” He screamed as loud as he could as he shifted the car back into third gear and pressed down hard on the accelerator again. The car’s engine sputtered and roared once again the vehicle picked up speed down the road.
Off to race and defeat its first opponent; Fluttershy and her NSX.
~Twilight’s Preview Time: ACT 3~
“See, this is why you should always upgrade and modify your car yourself and not let anyone-”
“W-What are they doing back?”
“W-Wait what? I have to do this…AGAIN?”
“Says who?”
“Oh, Celestia herself!?”
“Well then of course I’ll do it! Hand me the preview notes!”
“Ok so uhhh…Fluttershy’s being sad…because…stuff…Blueblood challenges her to a race…a pink slaps race in fact…geez that’s a little extreme right?”
“More stuff uhhh…happens I guess….I make an appearance again…oh my car makes its debut…that’s nice…oh and Spike makes his debut too!”
“Then uhhh..more stuff…and…other stuff…stuff….uhhhh…”
“D-Do we just have a preview like last time?”
“Wait we do? Augh! Why am I wasting my time then? Just show the freaking-”
“Tavi there’s only one thing on everybody’s mind…”
Fluttershy got out of her car and shut the door, when she turned around she was immediately surrounded by a group of people.
“And that’s the owner of this mysterious new NSX…”
“You’re the one who dusted that R34 on Beginner’s pass aren’t you?” One of the people amongst the group asked in a very serious tone.
“Rumors are already floating around that it’s Celestia making a comeback, some say it’s a girl from the local college named Fluttershy, and others say this is one big hoax set up by the Regals…”
“I-I’m sorry! I didn’t really do anything…I…I just…please don’t hurt me!” The timid girl pleaded as held her hands up above her face to block any oncoming punches.
“One thing’s for certain though…”
“Girl…” The guy began as he reached out and put a hand on her shoulder, causing her to whimper in fear. “That was one sick ass drift! I mean seriously! You blew past that black R34 like it a crappy Pinto!” He cheered ecstatically as the rest of the crowd began to cheer.
“Everyone can’t wait to see what this car does next!”
“You bitch!” Blueblood shouted as he gripped the frightened girl’s shoulders. “You enjoying yourself? Basking in your newfound victory or rather my newfound humiliation?” he asked furiously as pressed the girl against the wall.
Fluttershy couldn’t vocally give any response and just meekly gave out a few whimpers as her response.
“We’ll see how long your confidence lasts!” The furious racer boasted with a smirk as he let go of the girl.
“I challenge you to a one on one downhill race! Tonight on Mount Mosura!”
Blueblood smugly stood next to his car and smiled confidently as he looked down the dark shrouded road. Cars kept coming and going of all sizes and makes, though there was clearly only one particular car he was waiting for this night. It was also a car everyone was in fact waiting tonight.
“Winner takes the other’s car! It’s a pink slips race!”
Everyone on the mountain side anxiously awaited the arrival of this mysterious unknown white NSX that they had seen on the web. They wanted to see if the rumors were true and that it really existed, if it really did beat Luna’s R34, and most importantly if it would show to race against the overpowered Corvette ZR1 driven by an official Regal.
“It’s ok Fluttershy, you’ll easily put that ruffian in his place like last time!” Rarity confidently encouraged as she raised her fist up.
“No I won’t! Because I didn’t do it in the first place!” Fluttershy revealed as she shook her head at the fashionista.
“W-What?” The purple haired girl simply said in disbelief as her eyes widened and her jaw slacked.
“There was this girl I met…she drove the car…she beat him…not me…”
Dash walked through the dark forest, ear buds in her ears as she bobbed her head in tune with the music.
“We have to find her, only she has the skill to pull this through!”
She suddenly hit a tree face first. “Ow….” She mumbled in pain as she clearly had no idea that was coming, making it hurt her pride a little.
One of wider turns near the top of the mountain a blonde haired, rather muscular looking girl peered down the road and then at the top. She leaned forward a bit to look over everything before leaning back and laughing to herself slightly.
“One of them fancy Regal members racin’ gainst a mysterious NSX.” The freckled girl said in a thick southern accent as she folded her arms. “Sounds like a race worth watchin’ doncha think?” She asked curiously as she looked to her right at the tall very masculine man with orange hair.
“Specially if that NSX gives them stuck up Regals the what for!” She added with a smirk as she narrowed her green eyes slightly.
“Eeyup” He simply said with a quick nod.
A pair of headlights appeared from around the corner, closely followed by another pair.
“Here they come!” Thunderlane shouted as he got up from where he was sitting. “Twilight Sparkle and Princess Luna!” He announced as a purple WRX Sti GV appeared from around the corner with a black Nissan GT-R V-Spec following close behind it.
The purple Subaru accelerated down the straight with the GT-R effortlessly following behind it. They both quickly approached the turn the crowd was watching. The WRX’s car jerked as its rear end slight out, starting out in a drift as it came down the final portion of the straight. The GT-R behind it accelerated more and bumped the back of the car, causing it start to lose control.
“Wh-What the hell is her problem!” Caramel shouted in horror as the tires of the WRX squealed and the engine roared. The car struggled not to spin out before it entered the turn, barely making it without hitting the inside or spinning out of control. The GT-R still followed close behind as the purple four door sedan struggled to regain control. When it finally seemed to stabilize the GT-R behind it bumped the back of it again.
“Damn she’s so hardcore she has no problem trying to wreck one of her own!” Thunderlane commented as the purple car once again began to lose control.
“I-I need you to drive my car again…” Fluttershy asked nervously as Dash walked away from her.
“There’s no way in hell I’m ever getting back in that car…so you can just forget it!” The short girl angrily said back as she continued to walk away.
“P-Please…I really…I really need your help!” The pink haired girl begged as tears began to form her eyes.
The dirty looking girl stopped at that sound and slowly turned around to face the tearful girl. “No!” She shouted firmly, denying her request.
Twilight looked at the Corvette to her right and then to the NSX to her left. She took a deep breath and slowly lifted her arm up.
“Three!” She began, starting the count down as Fluttershy in the driver’s seat to her car looked over at the Corvette next to her.
“You think you’ve seen speed before?”
“Two!” She continued as Fluttershy noticed the blonde raise his middle finger up at Fluttershy.
“You haven’t seen anything until I’ve driven…”
“One!” Twilight counted as she swung her arm back. Fluttershy gulped and looked forward as she waited the next inevitable line.
“You will witness the era of a new kind of speed…”
“Go!” She finally shouted, the sound of both car’s engines roaring loudly.
“You will witness the start of the Blueblood era…”
“Ok-Ok…well…that’s it right?”
“Time to end this again?”
“Oh yeah…the act title…”
“Why couldn’t they just give it at the start of the preview or the end?”
“Ughh…anyways…next time on Initial Dash: The Start of the Downhill Duo!”
“…and I have to give a last what again?”
“That’s so stupid…that doesn’t sound like something Celestia would…”
“Wait a second…Celestia wasn’t the one who wanted me to do this didn’t she?”
“YOU LYING BIT-!”
SEE YOU NEXT RACE!
