Birth of a Legend 1: Beginnings

Birth of a Legend 1:  Beginnings!/Beginnings of something completely awful and stupid!

The stars in the night sky and the crescent moon dimly shined down upon the quiet mountain town of Canterlot.  The cozy little city seemed all but dead as the only lights illuminating were coming from the small main street overhanging lights or from an occasional light coming from a building.  The rest of the city was dark from the inhabitants quietly sleeping.

On one of Canterlot’s many surrounding mountains, however, was a small light moving very fast and flickered as it moved past through all the trees on the mountain.  On one of the winding mountain roads was the distinct sound of an engine roaring as loud as it could.  From one the more angular turns came the light as it quickly grew bigger and bigger before finally coming around the corner.  The source was from car as it came barreling through the corner at speeds almost three times the recommended for a corner that tight.

It quickly raced down the straight after exiting the turn and flew past all the trees and bushes, causing them all to shake and rustle.  Immediately after that, another pair of flashing red and blue lights turned on, followed by the sound of an engine and a siren.  A police car then suddenly appeared from a secluded spot in the tree line and turned onto the road to chase after the speeding white car.

The driver of the speeding vehicle looked into the rear view and smiled at the sight of the car slowly approaching her.  “Oh…that looks like the new Ford Crown Vic,” The young female voice commented as she recognized the make of the car chasing her.   “Thank god the local law enforcement is finally upgrading to more modern cars…if I saw another Chevy Caprice in my rear view I was going to scream!” She happily added as the car continued to gain ground on her.

“1-Adam-12 here, we got a code 510 in progress.  We’re currently in pursuit over,” The police officer informed over his radio as the car ahead of him suddenly began to pick up more speed.

“Alright Crown Vic, let’s see what you’re made of!” The female driver encouraged as she looked forward and pressed down more on the gas pedal.

“Suspect’s vehicle is a grey Nissan 240SX with no visible license plate or tags,” The officer detailed as he looked over the old white Nissan.  “It’s the same suspect vehicle that’s been routinely speeding for over three years now, requesting immediate backup over!” He quickly concluded as the car ahead of him came to a sharp right turn.

The white car’s brake lights went off at the last possible moment before the rear end slid out to the left.  The car seamlessly drifted across both the lanes, leaving a white trail of smoke behind it.  The Crown Vic braked and slowed down before entering the turn in pursuit of the car, loosing some ground as the Nissan pulled away from it.   An immediate left turn followed right as the previous turn ended and the white car’s back end quickly moved and went to the right as the car entered the left turn.

The tire’s squealed and the engine roared as the car continuously drifted through the wide left turn.  The police vehicle in pursuit continued to lose some ground as it tried to keep upwith the car throughout the turn.  When the turn finally ended the white Nissan skidded all the way to the outside, almost hitting the wall before straightening itself out to finish it’s drift and accelerating down the road.

“Be advised, suspect is driving very recklessly over.” The officer informed as his car exited the turn and picked up speed down the straight, starting to gain on the white car again.

“Wow, doing decent so far,” the Nissan driver commented out loud in a slightly impressed tone as she noticed the flashing police lights still in her rear view mirror.  “Ok then, now let’s see if you keeping up with me was based on your skill or based on your car’s performance!”  She almost screamed in excitement as she moved her right hand to the stick shift to upshift the car into third gear.

A burst of fire exited the exhaust of the white Nissan as both cars raced down the straight.  They quickly came up to a wide right turn and the lead car didn’t bother to brake before it flew into the turn.  The cop car slowed down as the car infront it spun it’s rear end out to quickly drift as close it could to the inside.  The white 240SX quickly put some distance between them as it soon exited the corner, still sliding at an angle leaving behind a trail of smoke.

Another left turn immediately followed it after a small stretch and the white Nissan slid down the road keeping it’s drift up before entering the next turn.  The police car had just now exited the turn, barely keeping the sight of white car’s bumper.  It went into the tight left turn as fast as it could as the sight of the drifting 240SX grew farther away.  Soon all the officer could see was just a trail of smoke before the turn immediately went into a hard hairpin right.

The officer didn’t even see any trace of the white car and instead the smoke of the drifting car.  The police car turned as hard as it could, almost grazing the inner wall as it struggled to catch back up to the drifting car.  The hairpin quickly came to an end and was followed by a small straight where the officer barely caught a glimpse of the Nissan’s brake lights before they vanished behind another trail of white smoke.

The cop pressed as hard as he could on the accelerator to try and catch back up to the speeding car.  When he came to the hard left, he braked and turned the steering wheel as hard as he could as the white smoke of the Nissan began to dissipate and disappear from sight.  Soon, as he went through the turn, it all but vanished entirely.  When He exited the turn there was another small straight, but unlike the others this one had two possible turn offs.  What made matters worse was that there was no sign of the speeding vehicle whatsoever; no brake lights, no smoke trail, and certainly no sign of the vehicle in question.

“Ah, I lost visual on the suspect!” The officer frustratingly informed over his radio as he went down the road as fast as he could.  “Last known heading was southbound on Mount Gojira’s 54, can anyone get over here to get visual back on suspect or at least start doing a sweep over?” He requested as he turned on the right turn off.

As soon as the cop went completely through the turn off and out of sight, a pair of headlights appeared from the opposite turn off, followed by the sound of a low rumble.  The white Nissan pulled out of the small turn off and stopped near the turn off that the officer took.

“I guess, there really wasn’t any skill behind that wheel,” The young girl commented dryly in a disappointed tone as she looked down the right turn off.  “Oh well,” She finished with a sigh before looking back forward and slowly driving the car away, free of her pursuer.

The white Nissan 240SX pulled into the huge garage, which seemed more like a full scale parking lot thanks to its sheer size, and parked in the very corner next to the door.  The car quickly turned off and the pop up headlights receded back into the hood.  The driver’s side door opened up and out stepped a very tall girl.

The young girl laughed to herself as she shut the door to her car and jogged over to the door to leave the garage.  When she entered the very large rich looking mansion she continued jogging all throughout the mostly dark and quiet home.  She went straight into the large shiny kitchen and turned on the lights.  She went over to the row of fridges and started opening them up one by one.

“No…no…no…hell no…no…”  She muttered to herself as she checked each fridge.  “Ah ha!” she happily squealed in delight as she opened up the last fridge, finding it filled to the brim with snack cakes, ice cream, and other various assortments of sweets.

The young girl reached her hand up behind her head and moved her long multi-colored hair behind her back before bending over and reaching into the fridge.  She grabbed as many tasty treats as she could, without any rhyme, reason, or priority.  When she stood back up her arms cradled a large pile of snacks and her mouth held a Twinkie package.  She shut the fridge door with her food before slowly turning and carefully walking out of the kitchen.

She meticiously made her way into the main hall where the grand staircase was without dropping a single item.  Before she could ascend the staircase, however, she heard rhythmic tapping sound.  She looked up and saw a much older, pregnant woman at the top of large staircase with her arms folded and her foot tapping on the ground.

“Why, hello there Celestia…” The red headed woman greeted dryly with an unamused look on her gentle face.

“Uhhhh…” Celestia blankly uttered as her jaw dropped, the Twinkie in her mouth falling onto the pile of treats in her arms and then onto the ground.  “This isn’t what it looks like mom,” she weakly defended in an unconvincing tone as she shook her head slightly.

“Oh, so what I’m seeing isn’t the sight of my daughter once again returning late from racing dangerously on the mountain roads whilst narrowly getting arrested…yet again?” The pregnant mother asked suspiciously as she slowly began to descend the stairs, her arms still folded across her wide belly.

”Oh thank god, I thought you were talking about all the deserts I just pilfered from the kitchen,” the much younger daughter replied in relief as she smiled and took a deep breath.  “Which…again…really didn’t happen…I got these from the gas station obviously…”  She quickly added in a much more serious tone.

“But yeah, that other thing you said…that did actually happened,” She finished with a smirk before turning and walking away, heading for the very large main room.

“Damn it Celestia!  How many times does this make it that you’ve narrowly…H-HEY!” Her mother began in a scolding tone before stopping at the sight of her daughter leaving into the other room, paying her no heed.  “Get back here!”  She commanded in frustration as she found it difficult to descend all those steps in a moderate pace thanks to her extra weight.

Celestia ignored her and walked in the overly large room and sat on one of the luxurious couches.  In front of her was a rather large table with a fruit bowl in the center.  She wasted no time in dumping the assortment of unhealthy food onto it before grabbing on a Ho ho and leaning back in the couch.  She sighed in content as she freed the tasty snack from its wrapping and rubbed her head as she heard her mother walk into the room.

“Why are you doing this to me?  You do realize all this added stress and tension isn’t good for my health or the baby’s right?”  Her mother immediately scolded as Celestia closed her eyes and shook her head, once again ignoring her.  She leaned forward to take a bite of her chocolate treat before her mouth touched something hard and cold.

She opened them to find herself taking a bite out of one of the apples from the fruit bowl that was held in her mother’s hand.  “Ew!  What the hell’s your problem mom?”  She spat out in anger as she moved away from the unhappy parent, the ho ho falling onto the ground from when she screamed in shock.

“My problem is that I have a very rebellious teenage daughter who partakes in Illegal Street racing practically every night!” The older green eyed woman shouted back as she slowly moved to the other side of the table and sat down on the opposite couch.

“Mom, I don’t street race every night.” Celestia replied as she wiped her mouth to get some apple bits off her face.   “In fact, most nights I just drive and go as fast as I can.” She informed honestly after taking a deep breath to try and calm herself down.

“Which is still illegal!” The pregnant woman pointed out as loud as she could as her daughter leaned over to pick up a Ding Dong from the pile of snacks.  “How many times were you chased, and let’s make it easy for you and say for just tonight?” She seriously questioned as Celestia unwrapped her newly acquired treat.

“I don’t know…five…six times maybe?” The multi-colored haired girl vaguely answered as she tried to think it over, leaving herself open as her mother quickly reached out and took the Ding Dong from her hand and replaced it with an orange.

“Six times?!” The now furious mother shouted as Celestia tossed the orange aside, making it bounce off the ground and enter the main hallway.  “You were in trouble with the cops six times tonight?” She practically interrogated like one of the cops chasing her earlier that night as the vigilante driver reached over and picked up a Sno ball.

“They didn’t catch me, they can never catch me…not on those mountain roads,” The speeding criminal informed with a slight smirk as she unwrapped her next snack, only to have it quickly swiped from her and replaced by a banana.

“You shouldn’t be doing it period!  It’s illegal!” Her eight month pregnant mom retorted as she threw the treat on the floor, making it splatter its high calorie goodness all over the expensive hardwood surface.

“Not for long,” Celestia grumbled bitterly as she leaned back against the couch, giving up on trying to indulge herself on yummy commodities. “Next week the ownership of that mountain will fully belong to me, and after that the law can’t say how fast I can or cannot be driving on those roads,” She informed her mother as she looked at her serious, hoping to settle the discussion right then and there.

“Why…Why Tia…why are you doing this?  Can’t you see this is reckless and irresponsible?” Her mother weakly asked, sounding like she was starting to break down.  “Not to mention a waste of your talents!” She pointed out as she shook her head at her.

“Look, we both know you’re an incredibly talented girl…I’d even go as far to say one of the smartest girls in the country…” The pregnant woman started as Celestia just stared at her with an unchanging look on her face.  “I even admit you’re much smarter than I ever could be…” She quickly added as she pointed to herself.

“I mean…you’re seventeen years old and since I’ve been…well…indisposed because of my pregnancy…you took over our company turned it around in a matter of days,” She reminded her as she rubbed her pregnant belly.   “And what do you do with all that vast wealth and income…you waste it on a mountain,” She continued, starting to get back in that scolding tone.

“Just to satisfy your petty rebellious need…” She finished with a disproving look on her face.

“I didn’t know doing what you enjoyed was an act of petty rebellion.” Celestia calmly responded with a sincere look on her face, making her mother slightly gasp. “Everybody has their hobbies and their passion…some people make models, other people sing, and some people painting,” She began, listing off other hobbies as she leaned forward to give a more confident posture.

“Mine just happens to behind the wheel of a car, to push it as fast as it can go and shave off as many milliseconds as I can from my last run.” She dreamily went on, looking up as she could just see herself right now trying to beat out her best time.  “I don’t go out there to spite anybody or to prove anything…I just go out there because I love it.”  She finished as she gestured her hand behind her, at the mountain roads that their mansion was next to.

“I know you can understand that notion better than anyone can’t you?” She seriously asked her mother as she looked at her with a determined look in her magenta eyes.

“I do…” Her mother whispered in response as she looked down and slowly nodded her head.  “But…just…why…why…didn’t you just go buy a race track or join a closed circuit racing club?” She quickly asked almost sounding desperate as she looked back up at her daughter, gasping when she heard her daughter immediately chuckle in response.

“Because that’s controlled structured racing,” She explained with a shake of her head.  “Where either you have to drive cars that are some premade and perform like all the other cars on the track or you’re racing on the same course that never changes no matter what,” She went on as she held up one index finger and then held up the other.

“The streets are where I can freely express myself.  To drive my own car that I personalized myself and take it on roads that are not the same roads they were the previous day…on unregulated unpredictable courses that I can freely change in my head without any restriction…” She happily continued as she raised both her hands and opened both her palms as if to represent the freedom she was talking about.  “The only limit is the thought that there is a limit…” She added as she pointed to her head.

“And I know I can’t do that legally on the street right now, which is why I bought my own mountain so that I can,” Celestia admitted with a sigh as she pointed outside at the roads that were most likely being patrolled by police.  “And to stop these constant useless scolding sessions,” She finished a bit bitterly as she pointed across the table at her mother, who was just sitting there staring at her wide eyed.

“You really are too much like your father,” She whispered in complete horror as she ever so slightly shook her head at her teenage daughter.

“Mom, I know you’re worried,” Celestia responded with a sigh as she lowered her head.  “Not about me getting arrested, or about me doing this ‘irrational thing’ but rather…”  She continued before stopping as she didn’t want to finish her sentence.

“I’m worried that while you’re out on that unforgiving mountain, that you’ll mess up a turn and then I’ll have to attend another funeral that I never wanted to attend,” Her mother explained, finishing the train of thought Celestia didn’t want to finish herself.

“Please…don’t do this…” The parent almost tearfully pleaded as she shook her head again.  “Think of your future little sister…” She reminded her as she but her hands on her bloated belly again.

Celestia said nothing at first and just sat there with her head lowered.  “I’m sure dad was thinking about you and me before his last drive, as I think about you and the baby before I head out on all of my drives as well,” She eventually said softly with a slow nod of her head.   “He understood and accepted the risks though,” The magenta eyed girl rebutted in a louder tone.

“He knew that turning the key to the ignition was an understanding,” She went on, looking back up with a more determined look on her face as she held up her right hand to make a key turning gesture.  “An understanding that you might not turn that key back,” She added with a shake of her head and her hand gesturing back to visualize it.

Celestia’s mother gasped audibly as tears began welling up in her eyes.  “But he did it, because he was doing what he loved and he died doing what he loved…and if it happens…I’ll be the same.”  Her daughter finished now more serious than ever as she stood up from where she was sitting.

“No…NO!” The older woman shouted back as she slowly got up from her spot as well, tears now flowing down her face.  “I won’t let that happen to you!” She screamed almost hysterically at her daughter as she shook her head over and over again, tears flinging from her eyes.

“What are you going to do?  Ground your soon to be eighteen year old daughter?” Celestia replied with a few chuckles as she shook her head.  “Or better yet report her to the cops so she goes to jail?” She further pressed as her mother reached into her back pocket and pulled out a folded pink piece of paper.

“No, I’m going to sell the S13,” Her mother revealed as she unfolded the pink slip and held out in front of her.

“Y-You can’t!” Celestia shouted back in disbelief as she reached out to take the pink slip, only to have her mother move it out of her reach.  “That’s my car!” The now frightened young girl exclaimed as her mother wiped the tears from her eyes.

“It’s in my name so that makes it my car.   And you better believe I’m going to get rid of it if it means protecting you!” The pregnant woman corrected as she pointed to her name on the pink slip of paper.

“F-Fine!  I’ll just go out and buy another car!” Celestia responded with a slight stutter as she folded her arms and looked away, trying to appear unaffected by the sudden turn of events.

“No you won’t…because I know you’re like your father,” The red haired woman replied as she began to walk away from her distraught daughter.  “You attached yourself on that car like it’s your second heart,” She pointed out as she raised her right index finger up.

“You’d never dare driving anything else other than that car,” She finished as she waved her index finger back in forth whilst still slowly walking away.

“Ok then, I’ll go out and buy another S13 exactly like it,” Celestia retorted a bit passionately as she stomped her foot on the ground a bit overdramatically, garnering a slight laugh from her mother.

“It still wouldn’t be ‘your car’ that you spend nights cleaning by hand and spent all that quality time with,” The pregnant woman revealed as she lowered her hand and shook her head.  “In your mind, doing that would be betraying that fake bond of loyalty you have with that vehicle,”  She added as she reached the large doorway and stopped to look back at her upset daughter with a sly smile on her face.

“Please…don’t…I’m…I’m begging you…” The pleading young girl asked desperately with a faint breath as her eyes were as wide as dish plates.

“I already have a buyer lined up…” Her mother revealed, causing Celestia’s breath to stop in disbelief.   “It will be gone by tomorrow morning,” She informed as she turned back around to look away from her now tearing up daughter.

“I know you’ll never thank me for this, but I’ll just say it anyways,” She cautiously began to say as Celestia began to openly cry as if she lost another family member.   “You’re welcome,” She simply said before walking out of the room and leaving her daughter alone.

Celestia shook her head slowly as more tears formed her eyes.  She bit her lip to prevent herself from vocally letting out any screams of pain.  She slowly clenched her fists and began to breath heavily before opening her mouth to let out an angry swear to curse her mother for doing this to her.

“That bitch!” Celestia shouted as loud as she could as she kicked the side of her bed.

“Wow, so the S13 is really gone?” A slightly older, shorter girl with grey asked curiously asked as she looked at Celestia with her one green eye open and the other bruised.

“Yeah it is, if it wasn’t I’d be out there right now driving it around obviously,” The taller girl confirmed with a long sigh as she laid down on the bed.  “Damn pregnancy must be screwing with her mind or something, because she’d never do this if her mind was sound...” She mused out loud as she put her hands behind her head and looked at her dear friend unhappily.

“I don’t know, mothers can do weird and crazy things to protect their kids out of the blue, it doesn’t surprise me that this happened,” The skinny frail looking girl replied with a shrug of her shoulders.

“Please Inkwell, nothing surprises you…you’re too damn paranoid…that’s why I can never throw you any damn surprise birthday party successfully,” Celestia joked a bit dryly as she shook her head and rolled her eyes.

“True,” Inkwell simply said with a nod and a chuckle.  “And you know if I were you I would’ve bought that car from her as soon as possible to prevent something like this from happening!” She went onto say as she held up a finger as if scolding her like her mother did before.

“I honestly didn’t think it was necessary or that this would ever happen,” The magenta eyed girl responded as she rolled on her side, still keeping her hands behind her head.

“Well, now it came back to bite you in the ass Tia,” The grey haired girl said with a smirk as she walked over and poked her friend in the butt.

“No kidding,” The now more aggravated girl simply said with a groan as she rolled back over to look at her friend with an unamused look on her face.  Inkwell laughed and back up slightly as Celestia groaned and sat up on her bed.  “Ugh, maybe can find the dude she sold the car to and buy it off him…I’m sure with enough money he’d be able to let it go,” She suggested a bit hopeful as she got off her bed.

“Do you know who she sold it to or where it went?” Inkwell asked as she titled her head a bit.

Celestia stood motionless for a few seconds before sighing and sitting back down.  “…No…” She weakly replied with a shake of her head.

“Good luck trying to find it then, you would have better luck just finding an exact replica of it,” The one eyed girl challenged as she turned around and began to walk over to her large bag that she brought with her that was sitting on a nearby chair.

“I don’t want an exact replica of my car!” Celestia shouted back furiously as she looked over and watched her friend walk over to her bag.  “I want my car!” She insisted as the older girl unzipped her bag and reached into it.

“Well I’m sorry but that’s not going to happen,” Inkwell refuted as she grabbed something out of her bag and pulled it out.  “Which is why I brought over these,” She finished as she threw it at Celestia, smacking her in the face and gently falling on her lap in front of her.

Celestia looked down to see a small magazine with a picture of a car on the cover.  The words ‘New’, ‘Used’, and ‘Great Value’ were plastered all over the cover along all assortments of price values.  “No…absolutely not!” The multi-colored haired girl simply said in a dull tone as she looked back up at her friend.

“Tia, when it comes down to it would you rather be driving a car or not driving at all?” Inkwell asked as she walked over to her friend holding a magazine of her own.  Celestia’s eyes widened a bit as she realized those really were the only choices she had.

“Look, no car can last forever and certainly no racer can stay in the same car forever,” The one eyed pony reminded her in a gentle tone as she sat down on the bed next to her.  “Even your father tooled around in a few different cars right?” She pointed out with a smile on her face as she put a hand on her friend’s shoulder.

“Yeah but…” Celestia weakly tried to protest as she looked at her friend as if desperately trying as hard as she could not to let go of something.

“And as your mother said, it wasn’t really YOUR car, just your starting car that you didn’t even pick out yourself,” Inkwell reminded her casually changing her tone from gentle to encouraging.  “All you know is that car, who knows the next car you get might be an even better fit for you or maybe even the car after it!  You won’t know which one is ‘the one’ for you until you get it Tia!” She went on firmly with a cheerful smile on her face.

“So it’s time for you to buy your first REAL car,” She said more firmly as she tapped the magazine in Celestia’s lap.

“I don’t know…” The unsure younger girl said softly as she looked down at the cover of the magazine in her lap.

“At least give it a shot, it’s not like you have anything to lose right?”  Inkwell persisted with a shrug of her shoulders before opening up the magazine that she held in other hand.

“…fine…” Celestia finally weakly agreed as she slowly took the magazine in her lap and opened it up to begin her car browsing.

The two spend what felt like hours flipping through magazines that Inkwell brought over.  Both sat in silence as Inkwell just sat and waited for Celestia to have her ‘AH HA!’ moment that one would get when you see something you want just on first glance.  After Celestia’s third or fourth Magazine however, she grew slightly impatient and decided to at least probe her friend to see if anything was going through her mind.

“So…See anything that jumps out at you yet Tia?” Inkwell curiously asked as she casually flipped through a page in her magazine.

“There’s a coupon for a free soft drink at the gas station,” Celestia replied sincerely as she turned the newspaper around to point at the ad.

“Focus Tia!” Inkwell shouted in annoyance as she grabbed the magazine out from Celestia’s hands and tossed it onto her lap.  She quickly flipped through her own magazine and turned it around to show Celestia.  “Here how about this nice new Ford Mustang GT?”  She suggested slightly excited as she pointed at the picture of the new two door coupe.

“Look it has a nice V8 with over two hundred horses of raw Equestrian Power!”  She added as she tapped to the left of the picture where the specs where listed.

“Ehhhhh, no.  I know I might seem like a pony girl…but I just don’t think it would work out you know…” Celestia hesitantly denied as she leaned back and rubbed the back of her head.

“Ok then,” Inkwell replied undeterred as she quickly flipped through the magazine to another page.  “How about this new Camaro Z28!  It also has a V8 that actually has even more power than the Mustang!” The one eyed girl declared as she pointed at the picture, more excited than when she introduced the first car.

“I…hmmm…no thank you Inkwell…” The taller girl denied as she raised her hand up and shook her head.

“You’re right Tia; we can do better than that!” Inkwell agreed with a few nods as she flipped through the magazine some more, stopping and going wide eyed after coming across something.   “Oh yeah…here we go!” She said softly in amazement as she stood up from the bed like she couldn’t bare sitting down anymore.

“It’s new and pricey but hell you can afford anything out there, look at this!” She practically demanded in a shout as she turned the magazine around. “The new Dodge Viper RT/10!” She exclaimed as she all but shoved the magazine into Celestia’s face.

“It has a freaking V10 engine with up to four hundred brake horsepower!” She screamed as she started to literally rub the magazine in her face.  “Now.  That’s.  What.  I’m.  Talking.  About!” She shouted as she proceeded to gently smack her in the face with each word uttered.

“Geez, no Inkwell!  I don’t care about horsepower!” Celestia finally snapped as she ripped the magazine out from her friend’s hands and tossed it aside.

“Oh, come on!” The exasperated girl replied as she threw up her hands.  “Ok fine, if horsepower of no concern then let’s just focus on getting you an Equestrian made car!” She reluctantly conceded as she reached down to pick up another magazine.

“I don’t care about that either…” Celestia clarified with a shake of her head as Inkwell started to flip through the magazine for her next suggestion.

“Oh, Tia…it at least HAS to be Equestrian made!  Not only is it just better overall than imports, but it would create a perfect image of you…and Equestrian racer, on an Equestrian Mountain, racing along in an Equestrian made speed demon!” The obsessed girl retorted with a chuckle and a shake of her head, utterly confusing me.

“Uhhh, last time I checked you drove an import too Inkwell,” She reminded her as she raised her hand up.  “Hypocrite much?”  She quickly added with an amused look on her face.

“I had to…because getting an Equestrian made car is exactly what they would be expecting me to do!” She exclaimed a bit nervously as she turned around and looked out the window, followed by looking under the bed.

“Who the hell are ‘They’?” Celestia asked completely bewildered as Inkwell got back up on her feet.

“You’re not trapped like me though!  You’re free to do the right thing and get an Equestrian made car…and you’ll be all the better for it!” She quickly went onto encourage as she pointed at her younger friend.

“I was already driving around in an import and you didn’t seem to care then!” The former import driver reminded her as she raised an eyebrow at her.

“Well that’s because it was your mothers and had no choice!” Inkwell retorted as she put her hands on Celestia’s shoulders.   “Now that you have though, you need to do things right.  Especially since this is going to be your first car you will ever own!” She persisted with a firm nod of her head.

“I don’t care about any of that crap Inkwell!” The upset girl shoulder as she flung Inkwell’s hands of her shoulders.

“I just…don’t care…” She softly said in a whisper as she looked down at the magazine in her lap. “I just want MY car…the car I started driving in and feel the most comfortable with,” She continued with a shake of her head as she slowly grabbed the magazine and picked it up.

“Just looking through all these stylized ads and fancy pictures with all these different car companies, car models, and model variations just makes me angrier by the second!” She explained in a louder tone as she casually flipped through the collection of ads.

“I mean just look at this!” She suddenly screamed as she turned the magazine around to Inkwell.  “Turbo charged, dual turbo charged, twin-screw supercharged, centrifugal supercharged!  Ugh!  There’s too many variations on just this one freaking model!” She listed as she pointed to four same car models that have different aspirations.

“Don’t act like you don’t know the differences between all those aspiration types Tia.” Inkwell replied with a smirk as Celestia flipped it back around.

“I do know the differences and could even tell you the finite technical details differentiating each of their performance attributes.” The multi-colored haired girl responded with a sigh as she looked back at all the cars.  “But I couldn’t tell you how they different they felt and most importantly would be right for me!” She quickly said almost sounding furious as she clenched the magazine in her hands.

“Ugh!” She groaned very loudly as he laid back on her back, holding the magazine above her.  “It would be much better seeing these cars in person rather than in a magazine!  You can’t test drive a picture after all” The young girl screamed in frustration as flipped through the magazine without a care.

“Screw it!” She eventually screamed at the top of her lungs as she shot up from her bed and threw the magazine against the wall.  “Let’s just hit the dealerships up and see if that changes my mind!” She angrily declared as she ran a hand through her multi-colored hair in frustration

“That’s a great idea Tia!” Inkwell agreed in excitement as she reached into her pocket and pulled out her keys.  “Let’s go, we’ll take my car!” She suggested before turning around and walking away, with Celestia slowly following behind her.

“Oh, I’m just sure you’ll be driving away tonight with some amazing vehicle that you’ll be remembered forever for,” The excited one eyed girl happily predicted as she reached the door and flung it open.

“I’m pretty sure that’s going to happen Inkwell…”  The much less energetic girl refuted with a dull sigh as her friend in front of her left her room.

“And I just know it’s going to be some great Equestrian made masterpiece!” Inkwell further predicted in a yell as Celestia reached the door.

“I’m also sure as HELL that’s not happening Inkwell!”  Celestia shouted back as she left the room herself, shutting the door behind her and off to try and get a new car.  Hopefully a car that would help her get over her slump or at least give her something to drive on the road.  There was no way that it would ever replace her old Nissan 240SX S13 however.

It was just simply impossible!

~ Twilight’s Preview Time:  ACT 2 ~

“A twin centrifugal Supercharger and a twin screw supercharger…I wonder what the difference is…”

“I must research this as soon as I…w-what the?”

“What’s going on?”

“Wh-What Pinkie?  I have to do what?”

“W-Why!  I shouldn’t be the one doing this and…”

“Well I know I got to do something since I’m here now but…uhhh…what do I do?”

“Read the upcoming events for the next act?”

“Uhhh ok…so…uhhh…”

“Dash and Fluttershy are…doing stuff…racing in the NSX…they…do more things and uhhh…”

“Blueblood gets angry and…uhhh…”

“Oh Luna makes an appearance…I didn’t see that coming honestly…and…Uhhh…”

“I’m really not good at this Pinkie?   Can I just go?”

“What?  There’s a preview section already lined up?  Well why am I doing this then?  Just go ahead and show the-!”

The black Skyline came out of the corner at a fast clip; its rear end sliding out a bit before it straightened itself out.  Blueblood sat in the driver’s seat and pressed down hard on the accelerator, making the engine roar, and the car rapidly pick up speed.  He pressed down on the clutch with his left foot while simultaneously putting a hand to the stick shift and upshifting to third gear.  After he released the clutch and pressed back down on the accelerator, he looked up into the rearview mirror to see the road behind his car completely empty with not a car in sight.

‘If I can pull ahead this easy in a borrowed car…then when my real car gets completed I’ll be unstoppable…not even my aunts with both their skills combined could beat me…’ He thought to himself confidently as he looked back ahead at the long stretch of road. ‘A terrible driver with no skills…ha!  I have to wait up for my friends to catch up to me!  If this was a real race!  It would be over already…’ He happily reassured in his mind as he left off the accelerator a bit, not wanting to discourage his only friends by dusting them too badly.

He took a deep breath and continued going down the straight road at a moderate pace until he saw a reflection in his rearview mirror.  He looked back up to it and saw a pair of headlights come quickly out of the corner behind him.  ‘Well, they’re finally catching up…’ He mused with a smile on his face as he watched the pair of headlights come closer to him faster than what his friends were ever capable of.

‘Wait…that’s not one of the guys…’ He then realized internally as he noticed the general shape of the car, and the headlights was nothing like that of his friends. ‘Who the hell is that?’ He further questioned curiously in his mind as the car got closer and closer to his.

‘Ah, who cares…it doesn’t matter who it is, I’ll blow them away in the next two turns!’ Blueblood confidently shrugged off in his mind as he looked back forward at the road and pressed back down on the accelerator, heading towards the upcoming turn.

Both cars entered the turn; the car behind braked as he black Skyline ahead still pushed forward, gaining speed as it flew into the corner. Blueblood waited until the last possible second before pressing down hard on the brake, downshifting to second gear before turning the steering wheel to the right.  The black GT-R’s tires screeched against the pavement as a burst of fire exited the exhaust before it suddenly turned towards the inside of the curve while the white car behind glided on smooth pavement rapidly catching up to the car ahead..

The GT-R shook violently as it ran over a lot of uneven dirt, giving Blueblood a great deal of difficulty keeping it stable throughout the turn.  As he exited the turn, he put his foot down on the accelerator more while the car behind smoothly came out and continued to close in on it, getting within two car lengths of the R34.   The left turn came up soon after, and Blueblood once again flew into it, braking at the last second before turning hard into the dirt.  As he did, he felt the back end swing out a bit and lose traction, forcing him to let off the accelerator to try and get the car back under control.

Once he had his car stable again, he pressed back down on it and flew out of the turn into the straight, upshifting back into third gear as the car behind came out immediately afterwards.  Blueblood licked his lips and smiled before snickering to himself.  He slowly looked back into the mirror, expecting to see nothing but to his surprise he saw the car’s headlights almost directly right behind him.

‘What the hell?’ The blonde haired man shouted internally as his eyes widened at the site of the mysterious car getting closer and closer to his back bumper, now barely a car length away. ‘I shouldn’t be able to see the faint glimmer of their headlights!  How the hell is this fool right on my bumper?’ He questioned in his mind angrily as he gritted his teeth and looked back at the road, pressing down on the accelerator as hard as he could, making the engine blare loudly as it started to put a little distance between the two cars.

The black Skyline bolted ahead, slowly continuing to pull ahead of the car behind it until reached a wide left turn.  The brake lights of the GT-R lit up as it flew into the turn; another burst of fire exited the exhaust as the car started to slide slightly at an angle.  The white car behind it flew into the turn as well catching back up with it as they both went through the turn.  They both straightened out with the GT-R starting to pull ahead again until another right turn abruptly came up.

Both cars went into at the same angle with the GT-R braking hard again, allowing for the car behind to catch back up to the point where it almost the R34’s back bumper.  As they exited the turn, a left turn immediately followed it.  The Skyline hugged towards the inside, hitting a patch of dirt as the car behind it moved toward the outside.  It accelerated and got closer and closer until the front of the car was alongside the black Skyline’s rear fender.

‘Gah!  Damn it!  Why can’t I shake this asshole off?’ Blueblood bitterly complained in his mind as he looked into his shaking side mirror to see the car to his side and immediately recognized the shape and color of the car.  ‘N-No way…that…that looks like a…like a…NSX...’ He struggled to admit in his mind as he looked at the car getting closer to his side mirror.

‘Damn it!  Of all the times for my Aunt to reappear on the racing scene, she chooses now?’ He groaned mentally as he looked forward and pressed down on the accelerator, gaining speed as both cars left the turn.  ‘Did she purposely come down here herself to humiliate me?’ He theorized as his car pulled fully away from the white NSX as more spouts of fire exited his exhaust along with a hissing sound.

“Damn it Celestia!  You really are a massive bitch!”  He shouted in anger as he turned the steering wheel and moved his black GT-R in front of the NSX to block it.

Blueblood groaned as he shifted the car into third gear and pressed down on the accelerator as hard as he could, trying to pull as far ahead of the Acura as he could.  The next right turn came up and Blueblood didn’t brake at all, instead just flinging the car into the turn as far to the inside as he could.  He smiled as he went through the turn smoothly at first, thinking he would gain some more distance on the car behind him.  All of a sudden, a huge amount of dirt appeared the inside, and Blueblood had no time to react and hit it.  The black Nissan jumped slightly off the ground and almost hit the guardrail as the white NSX behind it went to the outside again.

It easily pulled alongside the GT-R as the blonde driver struggled to regain control of the car.  Immediately afterwards, the white car flew passed him and got out in front of his R34.  Blueblood gasped in horror as he watched the car pass him, not because he got passed but because of the look of the NSX passing him.  The headlights were fixed instead of pop up, and the rear end had a stock spoiler instead of the fancy custom one that Celestia had on hers.

‘Wait a second…that doesn’t look like Celestia’s NSX…th-that’s…’ He frantically said in his mind as he now recognized the true owner of his car and knew it wasn’t his aunt.

“Fluttershy…”

“Dude, what happened?” Score asked with in concern his voice the second they reached him, only to be answered by a grumble and an angry glare.

“Did you see that white NSX?”   Hoops questioned curiously as he tilted his head a bit, getting another grumble and slow nod as an answer.

“Dude, it was Fluttershy!” Dumbbell pointed out with a shout which prompted Blueblood to grab the collar to his shirt and pull him up closer to his face.

“I know!” He shouted as loud as he could before tossing the burly guy away, almost making him trip and fall over.

“I’ve never been so humiliated in my life…” He bitterly snarled as he gritted his teeth and narrowed his light blue eyes.

“Fluttershy…I swear to god…I will get you and make you regret  making me suffer this indignity!” He promised to himself as the three guys behind him all looked at each other with nervous looks on their faces. “You’ll rue the day you ever crossed Blueblood of the Canterlot Regals!” He finished loudly with determination as he clenched both his hands into fists.

“You were absolutely amazing Fluttershy…” She complimented in a cheery tone as she raised her arm and nudged her sad friend’s arm.  “I still can’t believe you had it in you…you were simply divine darling!” She continued in a much louder and excited tone as she raised her other hand and moved it in the air to add visual flair to what she was saying.

“Please…do…don’t say that…” Fluttershy weakly protested with a subtle shake of her head as she continued looking down at the ground.

“Is that what you’re so upset about?” Her shorter friend asked curiously as she looked at the pink haired girl with a raised eyebrow.  “Oh, Butterfly…come on…you have to admit that what you did was quite impressive…” She insisted with a smile as she nudged her friend’s arm again.

“I… didn’t really do anything…” Fluttershy denied with another shake of her head.  “Well…technically I did it’s just…” She went on in a whisper before leaning forward and burying her face in her knees.

Slowly, the faint sound of an engine began to be heard.

“There she is…the nocturnal woman who commands every race she gets into!”

The engine’s roar continued to grow at a phenomenal pace as the sounds of tires squealing could now be distinctly heard.

“The girl who dares drive in pitch black darkness without any assistance from her headlights!”“

Immediately afterwards, a black car appeared at the end of the street under the lights with its headlights off.  It rapidly approached the entrance and turned into at an unbelievable speed, a trail of smoke appearing behind it as the rear end slid out.

“Even being shrouded she flows through the toughest of turns with grace and elegance.”

It drifted into the entrance and then it straightened out as it entered the mostly vacant lot.  Its brake lights came on as it started to finally slow down before violently turning, once again leaving behind a trail of smoke as it began to drift around the lot, everybody left backing away giving the car room as it continued to turn and spin before turning towards Blueblood as he got out of the R34.

“The one who has a passion for rare imported GT-Rs…and through her passion makes legends out of each and every one of them!”

It sped towards him before violently stopping in the center of the lot, facing the now terrified man as the headlights suddenly turned on, casting its light upon him and the car.

“Her skill unmatched and her technique far more advanced than the foolish peons she shares the roads with!

The engine suddenly cut off, but the headlights remained on, illuminating the sweating blonde haired man.

“Our beautiful and divine Princess of the Night!”

The driver’s side door slowly opened, followed by a slender foot appearing and touching the ground next to the car.

“Luna!  The one and only Nightmare Moon!”

A tall, slender, blue haired woman wearing a black business suit appeared out of the car.   She quickly turned and looked at Blueblood with a less than an enthused look on her face.

“You know who she is?” Luna asked dryly, getting a quick nod from Blueblood.

“Find her then…challenge her…and beat her in a race so bad she’ll regret ever setting foot in that car!” She instructed in a low menacing tone as she pulled his face closer to hers and scowled at him.  “That’s the only way to redeem yourself and not drag down all our names in the mud!” She finished as she got back in her car, shut the door, and started the engine.  The car’s tires squealed against the pavement, kicking up white smoke before it slowly turned around and zoomed out of the lot.

The blonde haired man breathed heavily as he regained his balance and quickly straightened out his clothes.  “Don’t worry…I’ll get my revenge…there’s no way I’ll let a humiliating defeat at the hands of a commoner stand!” He eventually replied to the dark-blue haired woman in a determined tone.   “I swear I’ll get her!’  He then shouted angrily as he raised his hand up and clenched it into a fist.

“…”

“…wh-what are they still doing here?”

“Why is this still going on?”

“I-I have to do what now?”

“Oh…right…giving the next ACT title…good idea Pinkie…”

“N-Next time on Initial Dash:  A Tainted Blueblood!”

“…Th-They’re still here…”

“What-What do I do now?”

“Give a final line of excitement and what?”

“That doesn’t make any se-”
