Family is Everything
Chapter 1
Chapter One:
“Spike, are you even paying attention?” Twilight stomped a hoof down in front of the young dragon who was staring off into space. Spike jumped and fell from the small stool he was sitting on.
“Sorry, what?” Spike rubbed his head as he pulled himself up.
“I’m trying to explain etiquette to you!” Twilight said with a frustrated groan. “This is something you’re going to need if you want to accompany me to Princess Celestia's grand banquet. Now do I have to begin again or can we continue from proper sitting posture at the royal table?”
“Aw, Twilight do we really have to do this? I mean you know I’ll be on my best behavior and I promise I won’t do anything to embarrass you.” Spike pleaded in his most sincere tone, but Twilight wasn’t having it.
“Its not just about how you act Spike, its all about details and protocol.” She sighed and turned away. “Since its fairly obvious you weren’t listening, we’ll have to start again.”
Spike groaned and fell face first onto the table. Twilight had become so uptight about this banquet that she was driving him crazy. He knew it meant a lot to her and he was prepared to act and look his best, but for some reason she just wouldn’t take him at his word, and so she began her lecture again. Spike tried his hardest to focus on her voice as she began on how they would enter the grand banquet hall.
After several hours of explanation and pop quizzes, Twilight was satisfied that Spike had retained most of the knowledge.
“Okay can we eat now?” Spike asked, looking drained.
“Yes, I think a cram session like that deserves a hearty meal. What do we have?” Twilight felt as drained as Spike looked.
Over the past few months Spike had become increasingly difficult to deal with. His attention span was getting shorter and shorter, and his attitude had more than once caused Twilight to raise her voice with him. They had never fought or been angry with one another, but she was finding it hard to keep Spike on task. He was always day dreaming now, or off somewhere else when she needed him.
Spike returned from the kitchen with a plate of small sandwiches.
“Sorry, just leftovers.” Spike said putting the plate down on the table and grabbing an armful of sandwiches. Twilight was happy just to eat and the two devoured the plate in a few short minutes.
Outside, a cold night had fallen, and the days hard study was beginning to take its toll on Spike. He yawned loudly as he flopped in front of the roaring fireplace. Twilight curled up next to him and the two sat and enjoyed the warmth. Soon, Spike was fast asleep, lying against Twilights side. She smiled as the little dragon snored gently. Quietly she conjured up a levitation spell and pulled a book towards her.
The Study of Dragon Psychology was a thick leather bound volume that Twilight had purchased when she had first been given Spike to look after. Though she was ashamed to admit it, she had never read past the section on baby dragons. Now, with his sudden attitude change, she felt it was time to finish the book.
Opening the book yielded a low creak from the old leather. It made Twilight quite embarrassed, thinking about how long it had been since she had opened the book. She even found an old bookmark sitting right at the beginning of the Young Adult chapter of the book. She flipped the page and began to read.
The book began explaining changes in young dragons. They became more lonesome creatures as they reached the adult stage of their lives and these feelings of the need for solitariness began while they were young in order to prepare them for it later in life. The dragon would begin to feel the need to set out on his or her own and fend for themselves, often leaving their nests without warning. Twilight blushed as the next few pages described dragons and their mates. How the young male dragon would seek out a mate at a very young age to spread his seed and then live alone. The book explained how a male dragon could have many, many mates as they would travel, and that this fact would make the young dragon very competitive and quick to anger as they felt the need to be more dominant.
Twilight set the book down and looked back at Spike. He was certainly growing up then, if the book was any indication.
She lifted him with her levitation and carried him to her room, setting him down in his basket. As she pulled his blanket over him she felt a wave of sadness overtake her. Spike had always been with her, since she was just a filly, but now he was growing up and soon he would want to be out on his own. Twilight has always known the day would come when Spike would have to leave, but she had never really been prepared for it.
“No.” She whispered to herself, shaking the though from her head. “He’s still young, that day is still a long way off, you just need to help him with these changes and treat him more like an adult now.”
Twilight curled up under her covers and stared out the window at Luna's beautiful night sky. She watched the stars until her eyelids grew heavy and she slowly slipped into a peaceful sleep.
The Next Morning
Twilight awoke to the sound of something crashing to the floor. She slowly rolled out of bed and saw that Spikes basket was empty.
Downstairs, profanity was echoing from the lounge. Twilight peeked in to see Spike kicking a book clear across the room.
“Spike!” Twilight cried stepping into the room.
“Sorry,” Spike picked the book up and slid it on to the shelf. “I didn’t mean to wake you up.”
“That’s okay, just don’t kick the books okay?” She said
“The books fine Twilight,” Spike rolled his eyes. “I was angry I couldn’t figure out where it went. Then I turned out it was right in front of me so I just got frustrated and … well, I kicked it.”
“You could have come and asked me you know.” Twilight scanned the room, spying a hastily scrawled list of chores, obviously written by Spike.
“I wanted it all to be done before you woke up.” He sighed.
“Aww, thanks Spike but you don’t have to…” She started.
“Yes I do!” Spike shouted, startling Twilight. “Sorry, I just…. Feel like I have to.”
Twilight blushed with a sudden realization. He may not have realized it, but something in Spike was trying to impress her. Subconsciously he was thinking of her as a potential mate.
Spike had returned to sorting through a stack of books.
“Spike…look I think we need to talk about something.” Twilight stepped up beside Spike and pulled the stack of books he was carrying from his hands.
“What?” Spike said quizzically.
“You, specifically, and what’s happening to you.”
“There’s nothing happening to me Twilight that just that overly paranoid mother instinct.” Spike returned to putting books away. Twilight gave an impatient snort and levitated all the books out of Spikes reach. “Hey!”
“This is what I’m talking about Spike, this attitude. I know why you’re acting like this.”
“Okay, why am I ‘acting like this’ Twilight?” Spike said, exasperated.
“It’s a young dragon thing. As you get older, you start to change. You start to get antsy and you feel like you need to be solitary, do everything yourself.” Twilight set the books down and ushered spike over to fireplace, pulling the Dragon Psychology book over. “When dragons grow up they go out and live on their own, right?”
“I guess.” Spike said, remembering the few dragons they had encountered.
“Well before they go out and live on their own, they want to start a family right?”
“I don’t know Twilight I’ve never met another dragon I could talk to!” Spikes words, even though she was sure they weren’t meant to, dug into Twilight like a knife. All he knew, he knew from her. She couldn’t understand how it must have felt not to know anyone else like him. She swallowed hard and fought past the pain in Spikes words.
“I know, I know. I’m sorry. I only read about this last night so I’m doing my best to explain it.”
“I..I know, I’m sorry I snapped at you. Keep going” Spike stared at the floor.
“Okay, well, the book said that one dragon can have….uh, lots of families. So when he starts to get older, a dragon feels the need to impress as many females as he can and be as strong and useful as he can be so the female dragons will like him.” Twilight was tripping over her words, but she tried to explain as best she could. “So what I think is going on is that you’re trying to impress me. Even though I’m not a dragon.”
Spike was silent, he stepped away from Twilight, his eyes still on the floor. Slowly he walked away and up the stairs, slamming the door to Twilights room behind him.
“Spike?” Twilight was devastated. She had no idea what his reaction would be but she wasn’t expecting this.
Slowly she crept up the stairs and put her ear to the door. Silence. She pushed the door open and saw Spike laying on her bed, his back to the door.
“Spike?” She whispered
“Its not like I didn’t know.” He croaked, sounding as though he were on the verge of tears.
“You were trying to impress me.” Twilight slipped into the room
“I wanted to, but instead I get you telling me it’s ‘just instinct’ cause ‘you’re not a dragon’.”
“Oh Spike…” She came to the edge of the bed “I only told you those things so I could tell you that wanted to help you through these changes. Help you find some other dragons to…”
“I don’t want other dragons!” Spike screamed. Even though his back was to her, trying his best to hide it, Twilight could tell he was crying. She put a hoof on his shoulder and rolled him over to face her. Tears streamed down his face as her eyes met his. It was the most heartbreaking sight Twilight had ever seen.
“Spike….” Tears welled in her eyes. “How long have you felt this way?”
“Since a little while after my last birthday.” He sniffed and wiped his eyes. “It was small at first but soon I was looking at you so differently. Not just you either, everypony.”
“What do you mean everypony?” Twilight was taken aback.
“You, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, everypony…” Spike was blushing a deep red that almost glowed through his scales. “I wanted to be strong, to be there for everypony.” He sat up. “But you were the one I felt for most. More than anypony else.” Twilight had her hooves on her mouth. She had never heard Spike talk this way before. He had talked about Rarity with the lust of an infatuated schoolcolt but never like this. The look in his eyes was so sincere. She knew he meant every word he said. “But I don’t know how I can ever be there if I can’t even do simple chores without being a total screw-up.” Spike looked away.
“You’re not a screw-up Spike.” Twilight fought back tears. “I told you, I’ll help you through this, and I mean that.” With that she pressed her lips against his. Spike jumped, but quickly returned the soft kiss.
His heart pounded in his chest. Twilights lips were so soft against his and her tongue was pushing its way into his mouth. He met hers with his and the two quietly kissed, both of them in tears. The heat from Spikes mouth was incredible on Twilights tongue. Her first kiss was with a dragon and it was intensely passionate. Spike had put his hands on either side of her face and was tonguing her mouth deeply.
As the kiss ended, Twilight felt hotter than she ever had before. Whether it had been from Spikes natural body heat or from her own body getting so excited, she was panting as she pulled her tongue from Spikes mouth.
Twilight slowly turned, presenting her rear to Spike, who was breathing heavily, his penis fully erect. She lifted her tail and showed him her wet pussy.
“Are you sure about this Twilight?” Spike asked.
“Yes, more than anything.”
Spike got to his feet at the edge of the bed, gripping her flanks. Slowly he slid his erection into her and felt her clench around him.
“Its so tight.” Spike moaned.
“I’m sorry, it..it’s my first time.” Twilight looked over her shoulder at Spike, who’s tongue was hanging from his mouth.
“No, no it feels good.” He said, pushing deeper. Soon he was fully inside her, her hymen having torn painlessly. He began thrusting, causing Twilight to give tiny shouts of pleasure.
It was the single most beautiful feeling Twilight had ever felt. Spikes member was so hot it almost stung, it was so intense. Her eyes rolled back as she began screaming, her orgasm welling up inside her. Suddenly, Spike felt Twilights pussy convulse around his member. Her front legs gave out and she fell to her knees screaming in ecstasy.
Her hot juices flowing around him drove Spike mad. His member began to swell, knotting inside of Twilight, as a flood of his hot sperm spilled into her.
The intense pressure right in the middle of her orgasm was more than Twilight could handle. She gave a few short screams and pants before passing out.
Spike was breathing fast and heavy as the last of his load filled Twilight. He fell against her and gasped, spent and smiling, and quickly he fell asleep. The two lay together, their bodies locked, until early evening, when Spike came to. His knot had shrunk and he was able to pull out of Twilight. Watching his load slowly pour out of her, he smirked.
“One down, five to go.”
