Two mares sat on a cozy sofa, in an equally cozy little home.
“So, how has work been lately? It must be a lot easier, with Rush helping, right?” Derpy asked, taking a sip of her tea.
“One would think so… but instead, the opposite seems to have happened. I swear, it’s as if I have even more work than before!” Rarity sighed out, leaning back into the soft couch.
Derpy patted Rarity’s shoulder. “Well, if you’re ever in a really bad spot, just remember that you do have a plethora of friends willing to help you through anything, alright?”
“I know darling, and I’m thankful I have all of them.” Rarity smiled.
“Alright… just making su- *DING* Oh! The muffins are done! Sorry, Rarity, just give me a minute.” Derpy said, getting up from the couch and rushing towards the kitchen. “Would you like any? They’re banana nut!”
“Of course, I know if you’re making them then they’re going to be absolutely delicious.” Rarity nodded.
Walking back into the living room with a plate of muffins in her hands, Derpy blushed, saying, “Aww… thanks, Rarity!”
“We’ve been talking so much about me, why don’t you tell me what’s been happening between you two?” Rarity asked.
“Heh… well, we’ve actually been doing really well! We met up with Lyra and Bon Bon the other day, and we all had lunch.” She said, blushing deeply near the end of it.
“Oh, did something else happen during lunch?” Rarity inquired a little jokingly.
“Ehmm… yes…” Derpy said, leaning over to Rarity’s ear and whispering to her the events that had happened after the lunch.
Rarity’s face turned beet red, her eyes widening, all she could utter out was, “Oh... my.”
“Y-yeah… it was… an experience, to say the least.” Derpy mumbled out, getting up from the couch again, grabbing a muffin from the plate she’d brought in.
“I bet it was…” Rarity nodded slowly, “So… um did anything else… happen?”
“N-no. We all decided that, while fun, it was probably a bad idea to keep doing it. After that, Rush and I just headed home, played with Dinky for a bit, the usual.” Derpy said, taking a bite from the muffin. “Mmm... these’re really good, if I do say so myself.”
Rarity grabbed one with her magic and took a bite out of it, “Mmm, yes, yes they are. They just get better every time!”
“Oh… stop it, you. Between Rush, Dinky, and you, I swear you’re all conspiring to make my face permanently red…” Derpy said, giggling.
“Did anything else happen between Rush and yourself?” Rarity asked, a smirk growing on her face.
“Uh… well… I-I mean, what exactly are you a-asking?” Derpy wondered.
“I’m just wondering if anything else happened.” Rarity said, taking a small sip of her tea. “Nothing more.”
“Oh. Well, we walked home, and got Dinky from the babysitter… other than that, no.” Derpy said.
“Oh, okay.” Rarity nodded. “Hm…” She scratched her chin as she started to think. “This has been a nice day today…”
“Oh? Why, is it just because it’s so relaxing?” Derpy asked.
“That, and being able to spend it with a close friend.” Rarity smiled. “Thank you, Derpy.”
“Oh, it’s no problem Rarity! I’m always happy to spend time with a extra-special friend, too!” Derpy said, latching onto Rarity in a hug. Rarity hugged Derpy back.
“We really should make this something we do regularly.” Rarity mused.
“We certainly should! What about… every other Saturday?”
“That sounds absolutely wonderful. So does that mean we’re set for this Saturday or the next?”
“Hmm… how about this one?” Derpy asked.
“Then it’s set. We’ll meet again for another lunch date this Saturday.” Rarity said with a nod.
“Great! But… this one isn’t over yet, is it?” Derpy asked, a frown across her face.
“Of course not.” Rarity said, “Why would we end it so soon?”
“Yeah… so, what should we do for the rest of it? Do you have any ideas, Rarity?”
“Hm. Maybe we should… hm. Let’s... go out and look at a few shops!” Rarity suggested.
“Alright, that sounds fun! Lemme just put a few muffins and somesuch in a picnic basket, and we could eat while we’re out, too!” Derpy said excitedly.
“I’ll come help!”

“So… what do you when you window shop, exactly?” Derpy wondered aloud.
“You just look around for anything that looks interesting, or something you might want in the future.” Rarity shrugged.
“And you just… look at it?” Derpy asked.
“You can go in and investigate or buy it, but I usually just look.” Rarity nodded.
“Well… what’s the point of that? I mean, if you’re gonna walk around looking at stuff you didn’t even know existed a few moments prior, much less need, then why do it? It just seems like a waste of money that you could be saving… of course, that’s probably the penny-pinching mother in me speaking.” Derpy giggled out.
“Well, that’s all in the fun of it. And there’s no harm in looking, right?”
“I… suppose not… well, what should we look at first, Rarity?” Derpy asked.
“Why not… hm… Ah! Why not something for our kitchens? I need some new pots and pans anyway.” Rarity suggested.
“Great idea!”
The two of them walked through the mall until they saw a kitchen supply store, aptly named Pans And Pots.
“So, what are we looking for specifically?” Derpy asked, turning to Rarity.
“An IQ above 10.” A nearby stallion mumbled.
“That was rude.” Rarity commented.
“Oh… you h-heard m- Immagonow!” He said, nearly running out of the store.
“The nerve of some ponies.” Rarity grumbled.
“Y-yeah…” Derpy agreed faintly.
“Now… where were we? Oh right… I’m just looking for some new cast iron pots, but other than that, anything that would look nice in a kitchen works.” Rarity said.
“Hmmm… ooh, look at those pot holders!” Derpy squealed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Where are we heading to, Derpy?” Rarity asked.
“Hmmm… I’m kinda hankering for some sweets… what about you?” Derpy asked, looking over to Rarity.
“That actually sounds... quite nice. I wouldn’t mind some myself.” Rarity said. “A cupcake does sound very good.”
“A cup...cake? Rarity, I wasn’t talking about going to Sugarcube Corner, I was talking about Bon Bon’s Bon Bons!” Derpy explained.
“Ooh!” Rarity said. “And… what is that, exactly?”
“You… you’ve only ever been to Sugarcube Corner, haven’t you?” Derpy asked flatly.
“Yes.” Rarity nodded slowly.
Derpy facepalmed, and began to drag Rarity down the road, saying, “I’ll give you this much: PInkie and the Cakes can make some amazing pastries. Bon Bon, however, is a god among mares, able to make the most delectable candy you’ll ever taste. In fact, she told me she once got an offer to work in Celestia’s kitchen! She declined it, of course, but still… you gotta eat there.”
“That does sound wonderful…” Rarity said.
“Trust me, you are going to love it there.” Derpy said enthusiastically.
“Then what are we waiting for?” Rarity asked.
“You to go in! You are right in front of the door, Rarity.” Derpy giggled.
Rarity went dead silent for a moment before turning around, going in through the front door.
“Hello there, and welcome to my humble store!” Bon Bon said from behind the counter. “Oh! Rarity, Derpy come in!” She said quickly as she noticed who the two mares were.
“H-hey, S- Bon Bon! I… yeah, Bon Bon. Eh… doing well?” Derpy asked, a blush covering her face.
“I’m doing quite well, how about you?” Bon Bon smiled.
“Ehm… I’m doing great! Uh, I assume you know Rarity, yeah?” Derpy asked Bon Bon.
“Of course I do.” Bon Bon nodded.
“Well…” Derpy turned to Rarity. “Go on, tell her!”
“I’d like to try some of your candy.” Rarity said.
“Coming right up!” Bon Bon said with a large smile, ducking into the back room only to reappear moments later with a small tray of assorted candies. “Here you are!”
“Ooh, candy!” Derpy said, reaching to a piece.
Rarity also took a piece of candy, and put it in her mouth, “Mmm. These taste amazing!”
“Thank you! All of them are hand made too!” Bon Bon smiled widely.
“I can’t believe I haven’t been here before!” Rarity exclaimed.
“That’s what I was saying, Rarity!” Derpy said.
“I know I’m coming here more often now!” Rarity replied.
