3 Weeks Party
Chapter 14: 3 Days Regret - Part 5
Previous Chapter Next ChapterPinkie Pie held her pegasus close, clutching her rainbow mane in her hooves as she gently trailed them towards her face. “I'm so happy you're ok, that you came back to me.” The pink pony said happily as she leaned forward to press her lips against her lovers. Though as she kissed her there was no return, her lovers blue lips lay cold and closed. Pinkie's hoof gently trailed against the cold pegasus' face as tears slowly drenched her own. “Don't Dashie, please.” She sobbed quietly as she pulled her lips away, her eyes opened to view the lifeless body of her lover resting still in her hooves.
The previously pink pony lay with her face against the damp mud, her body crusted with the dirt and foliage of the Everfree Forest. Tears still streamed from her injured eye as she broke from her nightmare, unable to get a wink of sleep without her mind haunting her relentlessly. Pinkamena slowly withdrew her aching forelegs to her face, curling in a ball camouflaged against the mud, silently crying the name of the pegasus she blamed herself for killing.
--
Applejack felt relieved as they finally reached Ponyville's hospital. The short journey across town had already been taxing on her broken leg and she knew the journey through the forest would have been to much for her in her current state, to which she once again owed her friend a debt for the detour. “Well, we're here.”
Twilight still supported her friend as they walked closely towards the main door. “We should go get healed up, then we can search for Pinkie.” Twilight continued walking to the door before Applejack stopped still, causing her to stop in turn.
“Twilight, let me do all the talking.”
The lavender mare shook her head. “I think it would be better if I do, I've read some medical-” Her words were cut short as Applejack placed a hoof in her mouth.
The orange mare looked around to make sure they were alone before speaking. “The less said the better, we don't want anypony findin' out about what happened.” She gave a small grin as she pulled her hoof away, already guessing Twilight's question. “I don't have to lie, ah just don't have t'say the truth.” She gave her friend a warming smile as she placed her leg back over her shoulder.
Twilight sighed slightly before smiling. “Ok, but if you have to lie let me do it.” She giggled as they walked to the door, it opened automatically blowing warmer air their direction as they proceeded inside. The waiting room was empty much to the delight of both ponies, wanting as few seeing them as possible. Twilight made her way to the reception desk with her friend in tow as a cheery face came to greet them.
“Hello, how can I help, you?” Nurse Redheart's expression fell slightly as she looked over the new arrivals injuries. Noticing the splinters cutting into the earth pony and the bruises on both of them. She kept in her thoughts managing to fake a smile again, pressing the call button for assistance.
Twilight remained silent lowering her head to the floor, allowing Applejack to speak as promised. “We could do with some treatment, ah think my legs broken an' Twilight here could do with something for her face.” She gave a warm gaze to the nurse as she spoke the truth, hoping she wouldn't ask any questions.
“Ok, the doctor will be here shortly.” Redheart peered over the two, relieving her concern as she noticed their caring expressions towards each other. “It's good that you are still friends.”
Twilight looked up worried, but kept her words to herself as Applejack spoke. “We didn't mean for it to happen, but our tempers just sort of rose. We got it out our system now though, we are still close friends.” Applejack continued to play with her words, though she didn't have to lie she still felt terrible for what she hinted to the nurse.
“Well it looks like you have been through Tartarus and back.” Redheart looked over to the doctor she called in. The orange unicorn walked up to the nurse who whispered in his ear. As she pulled away the colt began to greet his patients. “At least it's not Rainbow Dash for once I suppose, but I do wish you girls would stop getting in trouble.” The doctor motioned his hoof for them to follow him.
Nurse Redheart took Twilight's place as she supported Applejack down the hall. “Yea, well at least we keep you from getting bored.” Applejack chuckled quietly trying to lighten the mood as they made their way down the corridor.
“That's true.” The doctor opened his door half way before looking back to his patients. “You are both fine with the same room?” He asked as he recalled what the nurse told him. He was pleased to see their faces respond in agreement as he made his way inside. Nurse Redheart gently raised Applejack onto a bed as Twilight sat down in a nearby chair. “Can you deal with miss Sparkle please.” He asked the nurse who replied with a smile before starting her treatment.
Twilight sat quietly, wishing she could speak out against the misconception of them fighting each other as she squinted to the feeling of the ointment Redheart rubbed gently across her bruised face. She heard quiet reassurances from the kind nurse as she continued treating her, reminding her of her lovers voice. Twilight became lost in thought as the others continued talking, her mind returning to thoughts of Rarity. 'I won't let you hurt Rarity, my rage came from that fear.' Deep in thought she no longer felt the burning feeling the treatment gave her.
“Good news is it isn't broken.” Twilight broke from her thoughts as she heard the doctor speak, moving away from Applejack as she sat back up relieved to hear the words. “But of course there's bad news, the muscle is pulled. There must have been a lot of force to do that.” The doctor trailed off looking at Twilight questioningly before rummaging through some draws. “It isn't to bad, but you will need to keep off using it for a while, I'll give a splint for support.” He closed the draw, levitating over some bandages and splints in his light blue aura to the bed.
Applejack lay back in annoyance as she allowed the doctor to work. It didn't take long before the splint was attached. “Thanks for ya help, but we really need to get going.” Applejack tried to stand before being held back down.
“It isn't to serious, but you are still in a lot of pain, we really need to treat those wounds.” The doctor replied, looking down across her splinter covered body, bleeding slightly in many areas.
“I appreciate the help, ah really do, but we need to go do something.” Applejack protested.
“It is very important, an Elements of Harmony problem.” Twilight regrettably spoke, staring seriously at the doctor, knowing she would likely have to deal with a complaint from Applejack later.
The doctor sighed as he backed away from the bed. “What am I going to do with you? When you are done make sure to get back here, I don't want to have to treat a problem from neglecting treatment.” Nurse Redheart walked over to Applejack as she sat up again, rubbing her wounds with the ointment before she could stand. The farm pony merely gritted her teeth to the burning feeling across her cuts as she turned to thank the nurse. “Hold up your leg please.” The doctor asked again as Applejack lowered herself to the floor, she held her splinted leg to her chest while the doctor levitated bandages around her, keeping her leg cupped by her chest. His patient gave a flustered gaze to him as she stood on three legs. “Yes I know, one thing at a time.” The doctor levitated over a crutch, attaching it to her bandaged shoulder giving her back some mobility. “Keep that on for a few days until the leg heals up.”
Applejack smiled, generous to the aid of the doctor and nurse. “Thank y'all, but now we really do need to get goin'.” She waved to the doctor as she began to leave, almost tripping up on the crutch before she quickly became used to using her replacement leg. Twilight rose to her hooves in response as she began to follow her friend outside.
“I want to see you back here for a proper treatment, two days max, no buts.” Applejack stopped in her tracks as the doctor spoke to her, looking back to him with a smile.
“Yea, no worries.” She turned back to the hallway as she began walking to the waiting area with Twilight. “Ah'll bring Pinkie also.” She whispered quietly to herself and her friend. Determined to save the pony they all cared for.
The hospital doors flew open with a sudden alarm causing both ponies to move aside, a creature was being wheeled in through the doors on a white bed, clearly injured. As they got a better look they noticed who the injured creature was. “Is she going to be fine?” Twilight asked feeling guilty, much to Applejack's dismay who wanted to avoid anypony pinning them together.
A colt turned to face them as two other ponies wheeled the patient inside. “She's very injured, but she's going to live.” He looked back removing his green mask as he looked carefully over the body. “We will try save as much as we can, though one of her legs is very damaged...” He trailed off, not wanting to continue.
Applejack pulled Twilight with her as she began to head to the door, as the two ponies walked beside the griffon, Gilda spoke a single word quietly facing Twilight, before being wheeled away from sight.
--
Applejack rested against her crutch, breathing deeply as she regained her energy. Before them lay the Everfree Forest, a location they always preferred to avoid for many good reasons. But today they had more than enough reason. “Pinkie has to be somewhere inside.” Twilight trotted slowly looking inside the dark forest, trying to think of the best way to search for their friend inside. “But she could be anywhere...” She trailed off with a sigh, knowing the vast size of the forest from her multiple visits.
“Then we'll just have to start looking.” Applejack rose back to all fours as she boldly made her way into the dim light of the forest. The thick canopy already making an artificial night as she only just trod inside. The orange mare looked back concerned to her friend who was standing still, lost in thought. “Come on Twi.”
Twilight broke from her nagging thought as she heard her friend speak. “I'm coming.” She looked back to the floor shortly, still thinking of the word she heard earlier before returning her mind to thoughts of her missing friend. With a nod she followed Applejack inside the dark boundary of the forest, having no fear of the darkness she had entered many times before.
The Everfree Forest was unsettling, the overgrown canopy allowed barely any sunlight and the whispering wind chilled the air between the trees. The foliage was thick and expansive, covering the land between the trees with moist grasses and bushes. The paths themselves were only dirt trodden passages between the trees. To first time ponies the forest would seem horrifying, however Twilight had begun to take a seasoned interest in the unique nature of this self growing land. The mysterious creatures, the oddly poisonous flowers, and somewhere inside their missing friend.
Twilight soon began to lead with Applejack in tow, her increased experience from visiting Zecora and general expertise at leading making her ideal for the position. Though as she continued to wander between the trees her thoughts still surfaced in the back of her mind, small but apparent from what she heard leaving the hospital. “PINKIE PIE!” Applejack's loud calling broke her from thought again as she turned around to look at her friend with clear annoyance in her eyes. “Worth a try.” She gave a sheepish smile which cheered Twilight up slightly, as their pink friend taught them, it was helpful to try and smile even during such a painful time. “Come on let's keep looking.”
--
The passage of time was impossible to tell beneath the thick canopy, but Applejack kept count of how many times she needed to rest her healing body, it was the fifth time inside the forest that she leaned against her crutch. “Any signs of her yet?”
Twilight's horn glowed brightly as she scanned the floor, copying advice from a book 'Tracking for the Inexperienced' she once read. But as her horn faded there were no signs of any hoof prints to draw on. “There's lots of broken branches, but they could be from any creatures.” The unicorn sighed sitting down on a dry patch of ground. “We could be here forever at this rate.” She trailed off in thought as she lay her head to the floor to rest.
“Pinkie doesn't have forever.” Applejack rose back to all her hooves, rubbing her shoulder shortly from the pain before trotting forwards. “Neither does Rainbow. We have to find her.” She stated, still caring deeply for her happiness.
Twilight rolled on the floor to look up to the covered sky. “I know, and I want to find her more than anything. But I just don't know how.” She lowered her head to her legs, almost feeling ready to cry to have come so close for nothing.
“When searching you need to know why they run, if you want to find your friend that loves so much fun.” Applejack took a defensive stance as she heard the voice come from a distance, before realizing it sounded familiar. Twilight looked up from her lying position to smile as she noticed her zebra friend approaching from the shadows.
“Hey Zecora.” Twilight slowly turned over to rise to her hooves. “We could actually do with your help.” Before being able to continue speaking Zecora raised her hoof to the air to silence her.
“It is about Pinkie Pie I know, follow me I have something to show.” Zecora slowly made her way past Applejack as she headed down a distant path.
As the zebra passed the earth pony, she felt a knot tighten in her chest, still hating how she treated her so badly at first when she thought she was an evil enchantress, not feeling sure if she forgave her or not, or if she only didn't forgive herself for her closed mindedness. “Come on let's follow her she will help us find Pinkie.” Twilight happily stated tapping on her shoulder pulling her from her self doubt. She replied in kind with a smile as they quickly followed Zecora.
Applejack remained quiet, unlike Twilight who seemed to be happy to talk about how Zecora had been since they last met. After several minutes they finally approached the zebra's hut. Zecora opened the door slowly allowing Twilight inside, Applejack cautiously made her way closer to the door, her fears relieving themselves when she noticed the zebra keeping the door open for her, giving her a questioning look reminding her to stop staring and enter. “Pinkie.” Twilight hopefully called out, but noticing the three of them alone in the hut she looked back to her friends with visible sadness.
Zecora placed her hoof on Twilight's shoulder to cheer her. “She was here, and she should be near.”
“Really? You saw her?!” Twilight's voice became exalted, having finally heard word of her friends location. But as she looked at her friend, she noticed the mix of sadness and caution in her face as she walked over to her cauldron.
Zecora stared into the swirling green liquid in her cauldron. Staring at her own reflection as she spoke. “Around my cauldron take a seat, bask in the warmth of the heat.” Zecora remained still as Twilight and Applejack sat beside her, staring down into the cauldron with her. She lowered her mouth to collect various mysterious ingredients, dropping parts of them, from a single leaf to a whole bottle into the swirling cauldron. “Your friends sadness you will see just one part, look not with your eyes but with your heart.” Zecora dropped a final fruit into the concoction, causing a mysterious mist to begin filling the room around the cauldron. Applejack and Twilight tried looking into the mysterious mist, but open seeing Zecora closing her eyes they both joined in. Shutting their eyes to the world and letting their hearts show them what Zecora wanted them to see.
Their closed eyes filled with a dark green haze which slowly began to take form into what seemed like a memory. A memory that was clearly not their own.
~~
I was collecting ingredients when I found her, at first I believed it was by chance. She was barely recognisable, her coat was smeared in mud and her mane was strait, her whole body featureless. I only found her from the sound she made falling to the floor. As I approached her, she was crying staring at a puddle of murky water, as if seeing something reflected in the waters surface. She whispered words to the water, lowering her lips to kiss the murky surface, before lowering her face beneath the surface.
~~
“Why are you telling us this, you did save her?” Twilight opened her eyes questioning her shamanistic friend who remained quiet in her trance. The unicorn calmed herself as she slipped back into the dream state.
~~
She saved herself. She pulled out from the murky water with clear self loathing in her eyes, as if hating herself for being unable to end her life. I cautiously approached her, calling out calmly to the scared pony. She seemed ready to run as she heard my voice, but something stopped her as she lay still on the floor looking up to me. I gently held her side, helping her to her hooves as we made our way to my hut. The pony was clearly hurt both physically and emotionally, but I dared not ask what caused her so much grief.
We arrived home, without a single word spoken on the way. I gently sat her down as I brought a cloth over to her face. It was only then that I realized who the pony was as I washed the mud from her face. I was horrified to the sight, her left eye was seeping from what looked like a claw wound and I could only guess what other injuries the mud had hidden over the rest of her body. I told her to wait as I began to collect ingredients from storage to make her a remedy. But I was to late to realize what the pony truly needed, it wasn't a remedy nor an elixir. As I returned with the ingredients she had vanished through the open door. What Pinkie Pie needed was a friend by her side, to hold her, to make her feel safe so she wasn't alone. If only I knew it sooner.
~~
The vision faded from the two ponies as Zecora opened her eyes, she turned away from the cauldron slowly with her voice remaining low. “Your friend may be running but deep inside she wants to be found, there must be something in this forest she is wandering around.” Zecora began rummaging through some bottles and tonics on a table as Twilight made her way over, trying to think of the words Zecora told her.
“But how will we find her? We can't rely on luck.” The unicorn asked still feeling useless to the situation.
Applejack slowly made her way to the others, rubbing her shoulder slightly in pain as she thought about it. “Pinkie's looking for something.” She said quietly, awarding a caring glance from the zebra who held a bottle in her mouth.
“Something her friends know, that her mind wants to show.” She threw the bottle at the earth pony, shocking her as it shattered against her leg covering it with a mysterious syrup texture. “That should help with the aches, see me again if further trouble it makes.” Zecora gave a warm smile to her surprised patient as she returned to the table.
Applejack looked over confused to Twilight before looking back to the zebra, originally fearing an attack the lotion seemed to take her pain away for which she couldn't help but be grateful. “Thanks.” She managed quietly, still hating how she automatically jumped to an attack as her first thoughts.
Zecora turned around again, this time to Twilight with a satchel in her mouth she carefully passed it to the unicorn. “This is for your friend's eye, now go hurry and save Pinkie Pie.”
Twilight accepted the satchel, surrounding it in her lavender magic as she tucked it over her back. “Thank you again Zecora, we will let you know when we find her, and we will find her.”
As Twilight left, Applejack followed closely sighing silently to herself again. “It isn't as closed minded as it thinks is it, or else it would be a living hypocrite.” Zecora began chuckling slightly as she gazed at the earth pony leaving her house.
Applejack returned the smile as she turned away to leave. “Yea, you're right.” She smirked as she closed the door to the warm hut behind her.
--
The Everfree Forest varied greatly the further they travelled, though every bush and tree seemed somehow so familiar. As Applejack stood by a dark blooming flower, she wondered whether Fluttershy would find this flower adorable or not. “Applejack.” Twilight called out pulling her from her thoughts as she looked over to the unicorn. “That is quite nice, were you thinking of her?”
Looking back down to the flower, the earth pony delicately lowered her lips to the flower, gently pulling it from the bush and placing it in her mane. “Yea, you to?”
Twilight continued walking as Applejack approached her, the work pony moving more naturally again from Zecora's treatment. “I wonder what Rarity would say if she saw my face.” The unicorn frowned as she tried lowering her head to the floor, feeling Applejack's hoof stopping her.
“She'll probably make ya a mask to hide it, or a dress to 'show off the better side' of it.” Applejack laughed heartily before lowering her hoof back to the floor. “She'll care just like Flutter will for me. But it won't effect how they feel about us.” Applejack raised her head to look up, the thick canopy opened to view the natural sky, the sun was setting in the distance giving the forest a beautiful golden hue. As she stared up to the sky she noticed the face of a cliff to the side, it looked so familiar to her.
“There must have been a landslide.” Twilight looked down at what remained from the top of the cliff, a small pile of rubble being overgrown by the living forest. “It looks rather recent, a few years at most.”
Applejack stomped her hooves suddenly to the floor shocking her friend as she looked back at her. “Yea! We've been here! This is where I saved ya when the cliff gave in.” The earth pony pointed her hoof to the broken cliff, happily remembering the days they first met.
“You mean you let me fall and Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy saved me.” Twilight returned grinning, enjoying the annoyed look on her friends face. “Sorry I couldn't resist, thank you for then I really mean it.” She looked up remembering the time they went to fight Luna, or rather Nightmare Moon. The time when all her friends made an impact on her. 'Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy.' Twilight's thoughts stopped themselves as she stared over to the dark forest. “Pinkie Pie, she would have gone to somewhere that meant a lot to her...” She trailed off staring down the dark gaps between the trees.
“The old ruins?” Applejack asked thinking back to where they fought Nightmare Moon.
“Where did she teach us to laugh? Where she sang that song, it was somewhere round here.” Twilight slowly made her way back into the dark forest, stepping cautiously between the trees, barely able to see where she was going in the ever increasing darkness. 'Well it has to be around here, it's getting spooky.' She continued reaching out for Applejack who came close to provide her support.
Both ponies stopped still in the centre of a circle of trees, the cold wind made eerie sounds as it blew past them, causing Twilight to shiver slightly. “This is creepy.” She quietly admitted as they looked around, the only light came from a break in the canopy near another cliff which contorted past the trees, giving them face like appearances.
Applejack leaned against her crutch again, the feeling of the fake leg against her own was uncomfortable. “How much longer do I need this on for?” She asked to nopony in particular as she looked back up to the distant woods again. As she stared between the trees a shadow slowly passed between them, Applejack took her usual defensive stance as she stood near her friend to protect her, staring at the slowly moving creature. It looked like a ghost in the dim light, a mud covered beast littered with branches and leaves, moving slowly with it's head down. But as Applejack looked further, the dark creature seemed to vaguely resemble a pony. “Pinkie?” Applejack called out quietly causing Twilight to take interest and look with her. The creature didn't respond, but Applejack knew it had to be her, she had to be here. “PINKIE!” Applejack shouted loudly causing the distant creature to turn it's head and look her way. Beneath the mud covered face a single blue eye reflected brightly staring at them, her face seeming to hold unbridled fear as the creature quickly turned and began to flee.
“Pinkie stop!” Applejack yelled again as she began chasing after her friend, she almost tripped over on her crutch. Without thinking of the consequences she forced her leg out from the bandages, biting down hard on them to tear the bandages off, leaving her leg free as it kicked the crutch clean off her shoulder. The athletic pony was silently pleased for Zecora's treatment to allow her to gallop as she did, gritting her teeth in pain from her still injured leg as she charged after her friend. The light was slowly becoming clearer and brighter as she neared the cliff face, she didn't know if Pinkie knew where she was running to or even care. “Pinkie!” She was determined to stop her as she yelled her name again, she dashed quickly catching up with her, nearing the edge of the cliff she threw herself in the air, tackling her friend as she forced her to the floor. The rubble from the impact clashed against the cliff as it fell merely inches away from the two ponies.
“Don't kill me, please, I didn't mean to.” Pinkamena cried as Applejack held her to the floor, the orange mare slowly managed to raise herself still heavily in pain from neglecting her healing as she brought her hoof to gently hold the muddy ponies face. “I didn't mean to kill Dashie, I'm so sorry.” Applejack couldn't manage to speak any words as she held her crying friend, she could feel her own tears forming, pulling her lost friend closely against her, pressing their bodies together in a hug as she cried on her shoulder. Pinkamena continued crying, but lost some of her fear as she felt Applejack's affection, knowing somepony cared she continued sobbing quietly pressing her head against her friend's orange chest. “I miss Dashie.”
Twilight Sparkle slowed down to a trot as she neared her friends, she couldn't hide how happy she was even if she tried as she smiled brightly down at her muddy friend. She slowly lowered herself to the floor by her side as she joined in the hug, not caring for getting dirty as she brushed her face against Pinkie Pie's before gently levitating over one of Zecora's cloths from the satchel to her friend's muddy face. “We're so happy you're safe.” Twilight admitted happily as she sat exhausted by her friend, gathering her remaining energy to clean her. Removing the mud from her face Twilight withdrew her cloth in horror seeing the large claw wound across her left eye, it seemed to be seeping, clearly being effected badly by the mud covering it. “Just hold still, I'll make your eye better.” Twilight softly spoke reaching for her remedy.
“I don't deserve it.” Pinkamena looked over to the cliff face, looking down the long drop as she continued to cry. “I don't deserve to live any more...not after what I've done.”
Twilight looked ready to speak out in protest before Applejack threw her hoof up to silence her. “Pinkie, Dashie is alive. She's waiting for you.”
Pinkamena returning her tear filled vision to her friend holding her. “N-no, I saw her, and Gilda told me.” She felt her friend's hoof trail over her crusted mane, comforting her.
“She's alive, Dash, feared that she was responsible for killing you to.” Applejack painfully admitted, not wanting to tell her of Gilda's involvement.
Pinkamena shook her head quickly. “No! Dashie could never kill me, she loves me to much to do anything like that.”
“Then how could you?” Applejack stated boldly hating herself for sounding so cold, but at the same time knowing she had no choice. “You didn't...you couldn't kill anypony.” She stared down at her friend as she held her still, staring deeply into her crying and injured eyes. As the truth settled inside the injured pony, she pressed her face against Applejack' coat, softly crying her lovers name. Applejack rose to allow her friend more space as Twilight began to treat her injured eye. “She misses you as well.” She continued to hold her friends hoof as she squinted in pain from the treatment, her warm touch comforting her crying friend.
--
Applejack released the final log into the centre of the clearing, causing a short clatter as the dried wood collected itself inside the circle of stones. Applejack quickly moved away allowing Twilight to carefully control her magic, lighting a single flame in the camp fire, within seconds the logs began to crackle and burn warmly, giving light and warmth to the three exhausted ponies. Twilight lay down on the ground, the clearing having been dried previously by her magic to allow for a more comfortable rest. “I wish I could keep going.”
“You've already done a lot Twilight, ya deserve rest.” Applejack looked over to Pinkie who sat still staring at a puddle of water, the pink pony was covered in slowly healing cuts and bruises, as she stared at her mud free reflection in the water. Her frowning face and scared eye clearly unsettling her. “Y'all ok Pinkie?”
“Yes.” The party pony sighed staring at herself. “Do you think Dashie would, still like me?”
Applejack laughed warmly as she smiled at her. “Ah'd say even more than before if that were possible, she will think that scar is cool.” Applejack remaining gazing at her friend, the pony that took her first love from her. But all she could think of was how much it would make Rainbow Dash happy to see her again. The scar remained in her mind as she turned back to Twilight, speaking quietly to not be heard by Pinkie Pie. “Ah still can't believe she hurt Pinkie that much, just because Rainbow loved her instead, that's not right.”
Twilight stared at the crackling fire, the sight and sound calming her as her mind returned to the hospital. Thinking of the single word Gilda left her with. “Why would she thank me.”
Applejack sat down quietly before the fire. “You opened her eyes.” She looked back to her pink friend, still thinking of her scar. “Nopony, no griffon should have became what she was. Do what she did. Pinkie wouldn't have been the last...” Applejack turned back to the fire, enjoying the warmth against her face as she stared into the flames. “What ya did, it opened her eyes to what she became. Not even Gilda wanted to be what she was...perhaps she was another victim, of herself.” Applejack looked up to Twilight, who seemed to have taken in every word. “Ya did the right thing.”
The camp became quiet as Applejack finished speaking, she had nothing else to add and Twilight was lost in thought. She looked over to Pinkie Pie, who was still staring at her reflection, trying to cover her scar as she looked at herself. Applejack couldn't stand seeing her upset and tried to cheer her up again. “Rainbow will love to see ya again, no matter what ya look like.”
Pinkie kept staring at her reflection, happy to her friends words. Her mouth slowly creaked into a smile, her first since the fall. Noticing her smiling face she looked over happily to her friends. “Yeah, I want to see Dashie again.”
