Lord Dainn had Equestria in his near complete control. Mares were nothing but objects, nearly nopony objected to his control; at least nopony that could do anything about it. There was nothing stopping him and his Caribou from dominating Equestria to the end of days.

That's what we thought before the outbreak, at least.

When we least expected it, a violent infection appeared, turning any mare it infected into a psychotic killer, and simply killing off any stallion that got it.

It spread rapidly, affecting and killing millions.
