After Midnights failed attempt at locating Kindle via magic, he rushed back to Ponyville, heading directly to the library and bursting through the door.

"TWILIGHT! We have a problem!" Midnight shouted as he made a quick entrance, startling the librarian and her assistant.

"Midnight?! What's going on? What's the problem?" She asked as she made her way out from behind her desk.

"Screwball showed up and ponynapped Kindle. Kindle was telling me some stuff about her work and her co-workers wanting to take over Equestria and she just popped out of nowhere with some chrome looking pony and took Kindle before I could react in time." He panted as his nervousness was setting in about the whole situation.

"Chrome?" She asked as she stared at the Alicorn in slight confusion.

"It's like highly polished metal, UGH! No time to explain, I need you to find the girls and then send a letter to Celestia when you have them all gathered. I'm going to teleport to Canterlot to let Celestia and Luna know about what happened. Once the letter arrives I'll teleport back and teleport everypony to the castle. Make sure you girls have your element regalia with you." He said as his horn lit up, upon seeing Twilight nod in confirmation he teleported.

"I hope Kindle is alright." Twilight spoke to herself as she rushed out of the library to find the other element bearers.

Midnight appeared in the throne room in a bright flash of light and the snap of a whip. After a few seconds he opened his stash portal and pulled his regalia from it and quickly placed it on. This would cause less hesitation from the guard when he began to throw orders around. After just a few seconds, he had place his regalia onto his frame and quickly made his way out of the throne room and into the hallway leading to it. Upon exiting the throne room however, he ran into a couple of guards that were standing outside of it.

"You two, follow me!" He spoke up quite loudly causing them to jump a little from being startled. They looked to each other for a moment and then back to Midnight as he quickly made his way down the hall.

"Sir?" One of the guards began as they followed him. "What's going on? And why do you have your regalia on? You never wear it."

"I need you two to listen carefully. We are getting ready to have a war start from what I am aware of, I want you to lock down the castle, no guests get it until further notice. Any patrons or guests that are currently in the castle will need escorted out with haste. This is a level 5 detail, and all priority will be for the protection of the princess', the prince, and my son Starlight. Further detail will be given shortly. As of this moment though, you two will need to spread the word. Get going and do not under any circumstance let anypony into the castle. Alert Shining Armor and Cadence as well. We may need his shield spell in time." Midnight finished causing the two pony guard to salute him before rushing off in different directions.

After a few more minutes, Midnight had locate Princess Celestia in her quarters as she was changing Starlight. He made a quick entry, startling the sun goddess.

"Midnight? What's wrong?" She asked upon seeing his stern expression.

"We have a problem, and I fear that it may lead to something terrible." He said as he made his way over to her, giving her a gentle nuzzle as he looked down to his giggling son who had just gotten a fresh diaper.

Celestia picked the young foal up and placed him onto her back as she turned to Midnight and began to walk toward the door to her room.

"Have you notified Luna?" She asked as they exited the room.

"Not yet, You were my first priority along with our son. Twilight is getting the element bearers ready and will be sending you a scroll soon to notify me that she has gathered them. Until then, we need to get the castle prepared." He said as they headed toward Luna's quarters.

"The elements, what about the elements? And what did you mean by getting the castle prepared? Prepared for what?" She asked as a nervous expression covered her face.

Midnight stopped in the hallway just outside of Luna's quarters, He turned his head just as he was about to knock on her door. "We need to get the castle ready, for war."

Screwball and Steel had reappeared in hish private office with Kindle on his back. After a quick buck, he had launched her off and onto the desk with a soft thud. He turned to her giving a snarl as he looked down to her laying there unconscious.

"I can't believe this little whelp decided to turn on us." He snapped. "What in Tartarus was she thinking?"

"It doesn't matter at this point Steel, all that we need to concentrate on now is removing all of the materials of your work out of the building and into a safe location so that we can finish our work on the last element. Forge needs to finish his work quickly, and with four other ponies helping him along, the results will be within our hooves in a very short time. Your just lucky to have found Kindles proper ingredients so soon after letting her change. Once she wakes up, she will be the first pony to be taking orders from us, and the first on the battlefield as well." Screwball grinned to the out cold pony laying across Steel's desk.

"Even so, I hope this mind control serum works on her. We are going to have a problem if it doesn't." He snorted.

"If all else fails, then we can kill her. There is no need to trouble ourselves with her if she can't take any orders. Other than that, we will need her power in order to kill the Alicorns and the element bearers." She snarled as she thought of Midnight and what he had done to her father.

"Midnight is mine though, I am going to make him suffer for turning daddy to stone again." She said as a look of determination spread across her face.

The two began to quickly gather all of the materials within their workplace and started to place them into a portal that Screwball had made to quickly transport them. After about twenty minutes, they had loaded every item that they would need in order to continue their research for the last spell to be completed. Upon finishing though they separated so that they could contact the rest of the team so that they could begin working quickly. Steel knew that he had told them that they could have the week off, but considering what Kindle had done, he thought that canceling the vacation would go over better if the group knew what might be in store for them in the near future.

A couple of hours passed by before Steel had located most of the group, Screwball locating the final pony and quickly teleporting Orion and herself to Steels location with the other two ponies. Upon getting together, Screwball opened a small portal, going inside and closing it behind her and the group once they had entered as well. As they stood there gawking slightly at the pile of papers and chemical agents, Steel began.

"I'm sorry to have canceled your vacation so abruptly everypony, but we have run into a problem. It appears that the Alicorns have caught wind to our scheme and are gearing up to take us out before we even get the chance to fight. So our master has kindly made us this area to work in private to finish the final spell so that we can begin our plan of action against this world." He smirked but stopped as Ice spoke up.

"What do you mean final spell? I though Kindle and Forge both needed to finish their spells." She spoke up in a cocky tone.

"Kindle found her combination shortly after I let everypony off for the week. The idiot ended up casting the spell onto herself without further testing it and ended up killing herself." He snorted in annoyance trying to pass the information off as fact. But Kindle was being held captive in another area that Screwball had made to imprison her until the time was right to pounce upon Equestria and all of it's nations.

"Dammit Kindle." Orion sighed as the look of pain spread across his face.

"It's alright you three, we will still have more than enough power to begin our plans once we have Forge's spell complete. So I need you all to begin work immediately, Keep each other updated on the items you have used for the spell to see if the results are compatible or not. Work fast and keep each mixture separated far from one another. We won't have time to sit and wait for the reactions, and for this reason we need to do as many as possible, then stop for a short time as the first set of ingredients begin to react that you have worked on."Steel sad as his horn lit up and he began to separate all of the materials that had been piled up in the center of the room.

"So you want us to start mixing stuff with the spell at random and hope for the best? That seems a little reckless." Orion spoke up but stopped as Steel lowered his guise showing his chrome coat.

"Do you see this? This is one of the results of the spell with the proper mixture. Each element will be different and unique. We don't have tome to pussyhoof around. We need to pass up the safe way to get this done and go forward with it as quickly and as efficiently as possible. If that means placing each of these mixtures twenty yards apart just to see if they explode, implode, or do any other type of reaction when mixed, then so be it. This little dimension that our master has created can sustain quite a bit of damage, so don't worry about the environment. Just worry about getting results and getting that spell finished. We don't know what the Alicorns will do to prevent us from taking over, so this is top priority. Now everypony get to work!" He shouted the final sentence sending them all running quickly around to gather the supplies needed to start working.

Screwball stepped up to his side with a smirk as she began. "Such a very motivating speech Steel, you even gave me a chill with that one." She grinned as she rubbed up against him.

"Just doing my part m'lady." He smiled as he bowed his head to her. "I shall begin work as well, please let me know if the mind control serum works properly on Kindle when she awakens." He said as he pulled away from her and began to pick up and organize the pile in the middle of the room.

Screwball gave a sinister grin as she watched them all working quickly to try and get things organized before they began to start working on the final spell in question.

"I'll soon have your head mounted on my wall Midnight, just you wait." She grinned evilly before disappearing into thin air.

Midnight was in the process of ordering the guard around the castle to be on high alert, and to keep an ear out in case any disturbances were caused within the nation of Equestria. After an hour of sending out warning fliers to the heads of every city within the kingdom, he continued working within the castle, standing near Celestia at all times, awaiting the scroll from Twilight to let them know that they had gotten together. As he was giving one more order to some of the guard however, a waft of green smoke floated in through an open window and manifested into a scroll which was quickly snatched up by Celestia as she read it. She looked to him giving a nod in confirmation, upon which he quickly teleported to Ponyville, then teleporting back to the same spot with the six element bearers.

"Ok, everything is set as for security for Canterlot. Let's get into the war room with everypony so we can start." Midnight said as they all followed him to the throne room. He speaking to a couple of guards quickly to have them notify the captains of the guard to meet them there.

After a few minutes of walking in silence, they arrived into the throne room and headed up to and behind the throne through a hidden door. Once inside the group waited for a couple more minutes for the captains to arrive.

"Alright then, now that everypony is here we can begin this discussion." Midnight spoke up as his horn lit up, spreading a large map across the table. "Girls, Some of the stuff you are about to hear will not be pleasant, and will possibly frighten you as well, but I need everyone alert and paying attention to what I am about to say. I hate to say it, but as the elements of harmony, you have a duty to protect this world. As an Alicorn and future king, I have that responsibility as well. Although I will admit, I would do it anyway." He chuckled but stopped as he saw them cock a brow at him.

"Ahem, anyway." He began as the map unfurled onto the table showing different parts of Equestria. Using his magic he quickly brought up locations on the map into a more detailed view. "A few hours ago Kindle and I were just outside of Sweet Apple Acres, she had convinced me to walk with her so that she could speak with me on something the seemed to bother her. Upon reaching a secluded area she divulged that she and her team had been working with several forbidden, elemental spells that could transform a pony into an element that would be able to fully control the element they bore. Kindle, had shown me that she was the element of fire." He said as he brought up some pictures of the pony from memory and displayed them onto the table.

"She looks a lot like you Midnight." Pinkie said as they all looked back and forth from the picture to the Alicorn before them.

"Despite her looks, I couldn't get within a few yards of her due to the amount of heat she was putting off. Anyway, another pony that looked like highly polished Steel showed up alongside Screwball, they ponynapped her before I could do anything to stop them. From what I could gather from her, she didn't want to be part of that group any longer and just wanted to be left alone to do as she pleased. That is my assumption though. I did noticed that the chrome pony injected her with some type of liquid from a syringe while she was out cold. I have no clue what it was, but I have a feeling that I won't like hearing what it actually is." He took a breath giving a sigh before Celestia began.

"You said that she was an elemental fire pony?" Celestia asked as Midnight gave a nod in confirmation. "This is not good, those forbidden spells have been locked away in the royal vault for over an eon. How could she have gotten a hold of them?" Celestia asked as she rubbed her chin in thought.

"Don't forget that she has the same abilities as Discord himself dear sister." Luna began. "She may have snuck into the vault and grabbed the book without any resistance from the spells you cast onto it. Discord did steal the Element bearers regalia before without any effort." She sighed.

"True, my dear sister. I will check the vault shortly to see if the book still resides where I had left it. We will also need to place the rest of the contents of the vault into a highly secure area to prevent them from being used against us during the fight to come." She sighed.

"F-fight?!" Fluttershy whimpered as she curled up nervously as she attempted to hide behind her mane.

"It's ok Shy, we will try to fix things before it comes to blows. But if it doesn't work, then yes, we will have to fight. We will also need your ability to heal in the end as well, I have a feeling that this fight is going to cause quite a few ponies to receive many injuries, or worse." Midnight sighed in annoyance. "I can't believe that Screwball is doing this. Doesn't she realize that it wasn't me who turned Discord to stone? It was my evil twin for God's sake." He growled.

"Please Midnight, let us keep a level head in this situation. Screwball is the daughter of Discord after all, and anypony who has had anything remotely similar happen to them that has happened to her would feel the need to seek revenge on those involved." Celestia spoke out as she placed a comforting hoof onto Midnight's shoulder.

"Still, I wish it hadn't come to what it did before." He sighed as he slumped down a little.

"Never the less, we will still need to prepare the kingdom to defend itself." Shining Armor spoke up, receiving nods from everypony in the room.

"I hate to say this as well, but should any elemental pony show up for any reason, we need to capture them as quickly as possible. If capturing them fails..........." Celestia hesitated as she gulped slightly at the words that were about to escape her mouth. "We will need to eliminate them at all costs." She finished causing almost everypony in the room to gasp.

"Princess?! Are you sure that it will come to that?" Twilight spoke up, fear evident in her voice.

"I am sorry to say this, but yes. The reason those spells were forbidden is because they can cause extreme psychosis, rendering the pony that had the spell cast on them to go insane with power. They will eventually devolve into a feral version of a pony that craves nothing but destruction and death. They will stop at nothing until the world around them has crumbled, leaving nothing standing except for the plumes of smoke coming from the destroyed remains of what was once standing." Celestia closed her eyes as tears streamed slowly from them. "I once had the misfortune of seeing this happen to the student of a dear friend of mine. The student killed him without even blinking. Then laughed." She trailed off as she remembered that day. "That cold, heartless laugh.............. It haunted my dreams for decades after that. In the end, I had no choice but to teleport that pony into the vacuum of space to end their spree of destruction."

Midnight sat there staring at the sun princess in awe. "Did you really teleport them into outer space?" He spoke softly in slight shock seeing her nod.

"Had I known how to reverse the spell to give them back their sanity, I would have. But unfortunately, no spell exists to do so. All those that it is cast on eventually go insane, so I am sorry to say that all of those who have had it cast onto themselves..........." She stopped to take a shuddering breath. "Must perish."

Everyone bowed their heads a little upon hearing this. Death was not a common factor in Equestria, even during times of war the heads of each nation would come to discuss things without having to resort to blows. But with the battles that have recently passed within the past year, and the amount of ponies that had fallen during those times. It had become an all to real reality for them all. Death was inevitable, especially when those involved would stop at nothing to gain power and influence over others.
