Hearths Warming Day had finally arrived. Celestia had risen the sun at its normal time that morning, the rays shining brightly over the snow covered ground as it flooded through the windows of each and everypony. Midnight had made his way into Ponyville the previous night to bring his friends to the castle. The Elements of Harmony, Spike, Sweetiebelle, and Applebloom, had all arrived. Scootaloo would spend that time with her family, as Big Macintosh would spend that time with Granny Smith since she didn't like to travel when it was cold outside.

Midnight had spent most of the night arranging the presents below a large tree in the dining hall of the castle. Making sure that everything was perfect for everypony involved. By the time he was finished and had gone to bed, he was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open. That morning however was pleasant in all means, the castle staff had a couple of days off with pay to see their own families. Applejack being the favored cook of the group for home cooked meals, had gotten up at the crack of dawn as usual to make a hardy meal for everypony. Pinkie, of course joined her, making quite a few treats as well.

After the table had been set and all the ponies had awoken, they took a seat as they began to eat their breakfast. Marina even trying some of the sweets, since her overall form of sustenance was the love of her family and those around her. Starlight on the other hoof was being a little difficult when it came to concentrating on eating when there was a huge pile of presents laying around a massive tree not ten yards from the table. The morning carried on as the adults finished their breakfast and attempted to get the children to finish theirs as well. Another ten minutes passed before they were done and everypony began to gather around the tree so that presents could be exchanged.

To everyponies surprise, Celestia and Luna sat on either side of the tree as they hoofed out all of the presents. Midnight making sure to keep the best ones for last as they all began to open their gifts.

"Awesome!" Dash shouted as she tore open her gift seeing the Wonderbolt action figure. "I have been looking for this relic for years! How in the hay did you get it?!" She squealed happily as she flew over to hug the dark Alicorn.

"Just another perk from being me." He grinned giving her a wink.

"Oh........... my." Fluttershy said as she opened her present to see two tickets to Las Pegasus, and a bag full of golden bits. She looked to Midnight with an unsure glance as if to ask what this is for.

"Shy, I wanted to give you and Big Mac a kickstarter present for when you two get married. I'm not sure where you guys planned to have your honeymoon, but, if you wanted to go to Las Pegasus, then I'm glad to have helped. If not, you can always use the bits for the vacation of your dreams." He chuckled but stopped as he was suddenly wrapped in a hug from the yellow pegasus.

"Thank you." She said softly before pulling away.

"ME NEXT! ME NEXT!" Pinkie shouted as she carefully opened her present, already knowing what it was. She beamed seeing the awesome cake she had received last year as well, and began to happily cut pieces out for everypony.

Applejack stepped forward with her present and began to open it revealing a shiny looking set of red bands. She cocked a brow at them for a moment before reading the letter that came with them.

Happy Hearthswarming love, I know that this present may not seem like much, but these bands are for your mane and tail. They are enchanted to keep you clean for those days when you are working on the farm. They will remove any and all dirt and perspiration that would normally attach itself to your being during that time. I hope you like them.

Midnight

"Well how'bout that. Thank ya kindly Night." AJ smiled before giving the stallion a quick kiss.

"Oh I wonder what this is?" Rarity smiled brightly as she began to open her present from Midnight. Once she pulled it open she gawked at the fabric within, her expression turning from shock to overjoyed at what she held in her hooves. She looked to Midnight for a moment before speaking. "Is....... Is this really?" She sputtered slightly.

"Mithril silk. Strongest cloth in Equestria. I also received several spells along with it so that you can enchant it easily." He smiled just before being bowled over as Rarity kissed his face all over. The children all sticking out their tongues and going.

"Eeeeeewwww."

After getting back up from Rarity's kissing assault, he watched as Twilight opened her gift only to give a look of confusion.
"Um, Midnight, what is this exactly? I've never seen or heard of anything like this before." She asked as she opened the package and levitated an iPad from within the box. Applejack seeing the back of it and automatically noticing the bitten silver apple on it.

"What is that? It's got an apple on the back'o it." AJ said as she nodded to it, Twilight turning it over and seeing it as well.

Midnight moved forward as he pulled it to him and pressed a button on the top corner of it, The screen coming to life and causing everypony to gasp at the sight.

"This, my friends, is technology from my world. It's called an iPad, and can do an assortment of things. I have a few games downloaded onto it, as well as about a hundred thousand books. I have also enchanted its power supply to never become exhausted." He smiled seeing Twilight's eyes light up in curiosity as well as confusion.

"How can something so tiny and thin hold so many books?" Twilight asked as she watched Midnight begin to work the overall controls of the device, as well as where everything was located.

"This is an electronic device Twi. It runs on electricity. Similar to the magical energy within your world. I just had to modify a gem battery to replace the regular battery inside it. Now it will never have to recharge itself. That isn't the only thing I got you though." He chuckled as he pulled a second gift out, hoofing it to her.

Twilight's eye's went wide as she looked at the small necklace and gem attached to it. Rarity gawking as well as she noticed what type of gem it was.

"Is that a...... Purple Diamond?!" Rarity gawked.

"An enchanted purple diamond. It's a mana battery that can hold a full days natural charge of magic from a single pony. In this case, Twilight. It can recharge to full in ten minutes as well once it runs out. But you would have to pull off some serious spells to drain that much magic. Be careful though, you can't charge it more than three times from empty to full in a day, otherwise it will break. I thought you might enjoy this for when your practicing your maGIC!?" He squeaked out the last bit as he was suddenly pulled into a tight hug.

"Ooooooo thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!" Twilight beamed as she placed the necklace onto herself and gazed at it.

Rarity gave the stallion a nudge to get his attention. "A purple diamond darling? That is quite a difficult item to get."

"Not as hard as getting mithril silk and comes with several spells made specifically to enchant it." He said giving her a cocked brow. "And just to let you all know, I got you what I thought you would like, and spared no expense in getting them. Some of you are a little more difficult to get present's for than others because of the way you live and your overall stubbornness." He winked to Applejack causing her to chuckle. "So don't think I don't love you just as much as one of the others just because I got something that seemed less expensive." He chuckled.

"I still see quite a few presents under the tree my dear, would you like for my sister and I to hoof them out?" Celestia asked giving a smile. Midnight giving a nod as she began to levitate the presents into separate piles. "My goodness, you seemed to have gone overboard on our little ones." She giggled as she began to pull many small presents into Marina and Starlight's piles. The two jumping around them in glee as they watched the piles get higher and higher.

Starlight began tearing his open rather quickly as Marina was opening hers slowly seeing the oddities before her. This being her first Hearth's warming eve she wanted it to last for as long as it could. After she had opened hers she began to play with here toys as did Starlight, both smiling and being happy as could be. That was of course until Celestia and Luna began to open their presents.

"Why thank you Pinkie." The two princess' smiled as they opened a box each that had the specially enchanted cake that she had gotten as well. Luna's eye twitching slightly at seeing it and remembering what had happened last year. They continued opening presents, each getting the same gift from each pony, some just in a separate color that would match them in some way, be it a cutiemark insignia, or other. Rarity having made them a lovely scarf each, Applejack having made a very special recipe apple pie for them as well. Twilight, giving them both a rare book that she had come across recently, while Dash would give them tickets to one of her first show with the Wonderbolt's in Canterlot. Fluttershy giving Celestia an over sized open birdcage for Philomena, and Luna a book on assertiveness while keeping your voice down.

The two crusaders that were present knew that their Uncle would give them the same thing as last year, but this time they wouldn't waste all of the bits on candy and useless items. Five hundred bits goes a long way when you don't buy useless items.

Then the final three presents came out. Midnight hoofing them to Celestia Luna and Marina. The young changeling opening hers first and looking at it in awe as she pulled it out.

"What is it daddy? It's very pretty." She smiled as Midnight pressed a hoof gently to the center of the heart shaped pendant, it splitting down the center and slowly opening to reveal the picture they had all taken together the previous day.

"This is to show you that you are part of a family now, and you never have to worry about anything ever again. We will always love you no matter what, so don't think that if we get a little busy at times that we don't love you." He smiled down to her as her eyes teared up a little. He picked her up gently and gave her a hug, the love radiating from him to her.

*Buuuuurp* "Scuse me." Marina said giving a sheepish smile.

Celestia smiled as she opened her present seeing the same thing that her daughter had just received, but quite a bit bigger for her neck. "Thank you Midnight, I shall keep it on my being always." She giggled softly before giving him a quick kiss.

All attention was now on Luna as she was opening her present, pulling out a small piece of paper and reading it to herself. Midnight immediately gave a sigh seeing her expression turn from shock to bemusement, then to a sinister grin as her eyes flickered to him.

"Dear sister? What did you get?" Celestia asked as she floated the note over to read it. She gave an annoyed sigh as she looked to Midnight. "I am afraid that you may have gotten yourself into something rather deep this time my dear." She chuckled seeing Luna rub he hooves together in an evil manner, causing all of the others to look between them curiously?

"Slave for a day to make up for all of your prior transgressions against me Midnight? I do believe my sister is correct. You will regret this. But not today. Perhaps in early spring or summer. But not now." She began to laugh maniacally, slowly coming to a stop as she grinned evilly at him.

"I get the feeling that this has happened before with another pony." Midnight shuddered as he looked to Celestia seeing her nod.

"Yes, I am sure you have seen the memorial we have in the palace garden correct?" She asked seeing him nod. "That belongs to the last pony who offered Luna the same thing. Needless to say he didn't survive the MMMPH!" Celestia was quickly silenced by Luna's hoof being placed into her mouth quickly to prevent those words from being spoke.

"You vowed never to reveal that days events sister, and I shall hold you to that." She grinned seeing Celestia roll her eyes.

"Uh oh, ah think our stallion just stepped in it this time." AJ chuckled seeing his nervous expression.

"He did, but let us not worry about what is to come, as this is a happy occasion, and this present has most certainly made me very happy." Luna beamed. "On with the festivities!" She announced as Pinkie pull several board games out of nowhere and began to set them up.

The rest of the evening went along very nicely. Many games being played, the children playing together with all of the toys that Starlight and Marina had received. They even going as far as to build a pillow fort and everypony joining in on the mock battle of the sacred pillow.

Twilight was sitting idly scrolling through the massive database of books that was within the tablet device she had gotten. They were all of course books from Midnight's home world, but there were countless sources of knowledge as well as fiction in it.

As the day went on, they began to tell stories about previous events, laughing at many of them, while some of the others brought them together in a huddle of fear. Plans for New Years even discussed as to what they would be doing then. Then the one subject that Midnight had avoided at all costs came up.

"So when are we getting married Midnight?" Twilight spoke up causing him to sputter, and make the others laugh.

"W-well.......... I hadn't really picked a date as of yet. I know each of you have your favorite time of the year, and I figured we could all compromise on the date.

"How about the day after the Summer Sun Celebration?" Celestia said with a smile. That weeks weather is planned to be sunny, and it would be nice to have it without having a cloud in the sky."

After a few nods from the other brides, they all agreed on the day. Rarity would end up making the dresses, except for Celestia's. As she had had one made long ago for her first wedding that never came to be, but that is a story for another time. As for the rest of the day, many plans would be made, many by Luna for the day she chose to make Midnight pay for all of the pranks he had pulled on her in the past.
