Chapter 5: Sharing Memories Part 1

"I remember when I arrived to this town. Alone."

"No help?"

"Help? I'm an Elder Dragon! I don't need help." She said as she posed in a rather posh manner, lifting her head high and closing her eyes.

*Insert harp playing flashback here.*

I felt a sudden rush of cold air as I sat glumly around the town park. It was a normal day, really. The occasional insult or jeer was directed at me as I stared at the sky. I realized that it had turned rather...'bluer' than usual.

"Fucking weather team." I hissed through my teeth.

Not a second came by until I heard an unexpected scream. I dismissed it as another young un' looking at me. It was all to common with me, to be honest. I had learned to live as the town attraction for quite a while. But what I heard next completely snapped me out of my blank trance

"Dragon!"

Wait...did someone just say a fucking dragon? I turned my head to the source of the noise as a large, icy blue monster filled the sky. I saw it's eyes, the ruby pupils sending me in awe as I watched the winged beast almost block out the sun.

Man, that's one big dragon.

I chuckled softly at her arrogant pride. Knowing fully that what I just did could be enough to piss her off.

"You looked larger than I'd expected." I smirked at her.

"Are you insulting my figure, peasant? She faced me once more as she narrowed her icy eyes.

"Nah, you looked fine, intimidating even." I gave her a reassuring smile.

"W-well, that's what I hoped to aim for." She stuttered.

"I'm definitely sure that the army Sun butt raised were terrified." I smiled at the pleasing memory.

"Of course they would be! I could easily brush them off!" She gallantly replied.

"Damn straight."

*Insert harp playing flashback here.*

I sipped a pint of apple juice as I watched the entertainment from a large hill on Applejack's orchard. That dragon was big enough for me to see and I was close enough to the action, which was rather a few hundred feet away. Man, this was the perfect R&R that I could ever ask for.

They watched me suffer, now I get to see them get their comeuppance.

That was all I could ever ask for. That, and Applebloom giving me this drink before running back home when she saw the monster.

The glossy, sapphire dragon slowly flapped it's wings as wave after wave of pegasi with spears came in, all aiming different locations  of its body. Their efforts went in vain as the dragon strongly flapped its wings, causing a strong wave of blue, icy air to pierce into their skin, effectively locking their bones in place as they froze from the inside.

I could see the pegasi's turn shiny before their coats became tinged with cyan. Some of the color combinations looked awesome, whilst others looked horrendous.

Judging their appearance like they did with me, check.

Next, I looked at the nearby town, which glistened in the familiar blue that I had seen from the downed ponies. Small, blue cubes littered the floor of the town, which were presumably ponies. I couldn't really see their faces, but I knew for sure that they were in some, typical yet humorous pose that any scared being would do.

"Fucking idiots. Y'all deserve it." I chuckled.

Jeering them like they did to me, check.

Imitating Applejack, double check.

"I could still remember that little speech you told them." I stared dreamily at the midnight sky.

"Really?"

"Let's say it together, if you still know." I replied as I gave a snide remark.

"Greetings. citizens of ponyville. I, the great Elder Dragon, hereby claim this land as my own. For I shall see to it that I bring Equestria to an ice age." I spoke with great confidence. These insignificant specks could never match to my power, and I arrived to claim this place for the others, for they were too cowardly to join. It was the perfect starting ground too, as it contained the bearers of the elements of 'Harmony'. They had to be eliminated, for they could interfere with my plans.

Once they were gone, only three alicorns would have be left until my conquest would be complete.

And here come the two of them. Oh Discord, I thank thee for this generous gift.

We both chuckled quietly as we relished in the memory of ponyville's suffering. Man, I've never felt this happy in such a long while. And it's all thanks to the monster beside me.

"I'm almost glad that you attacked my home. I guess I need some sort of relief from the treatment that they've given me." I smiled at the dumb-struck ice dragon in my eyes.

"W-well, if I had succeeded, I'd have gladly taken you under my wing, whether you were frozen by my magic or not.." She gave her own smile to me before losing it.

"However, if I hadn't been so arrogant back then, I'd have not underestimated my foes."

"Well, you tried your best." I replied with a re-assuring smile as I watched the ice sculpture stare at the town with a solemn face.

They came from everywhere. Small, but noticeable lines of battle magic were shot to every inch of my body. They stung as they collided with my scales. The two alicorns that I've come to realize as Celestia and Luna had me trapped around a sphere of pure magic. Any contact towards it singed whatever limb I that connected with it. My movements became slow and steady as the sphere slowly shrunk.

Upon realizing that magic can pass through said barrier, I expelled the blizzard within my mouth as I thrashed around with care, sending an steady beam of sub-zero magic where I faced as my wings released whatever power they could  without colliding with the ever-shrinking sphere.

But alas, my efforts fell in vain. I cried out in agony as I felt immeasurable pain from everywhere.

In my eyes I could see the darkened faces of the Alicorn sisters, my arrogance had gotten the better of me. I underestimated their prowess and planning, proving that I, was just any barbaric dragon to them.

"Your evil presence shall be feared no more, vile ice dragon."

I could barely hear their triumphant speech as my mind faded to the realm inside my mind.

"My best? I could have done so much more. My typical personality was my downfall."

"Hey, you aren't a barbaric dragon."

"Oh please, relinquish your efforts to comfort me, for I do not need it."

"I don't care what you say. I'm speaking my mind out here."

"Then I'd rather not hear it."

"Too bad, because you will."

I took a large breath as I prepared the speech that could change her view on herself or a speech that could fall on deaf ears.

"I'll say it now, right from the start, I honestly hated you. I mean, come on, my life couldn't get any worse, and yet you seemed to make it happen. You managed to make me happy for a few moments and kill it in one fell swoop."

"Though I can't say that it is all your fault, since this is also Sun butt and Moon butt's doing. You got stuffed inside me, pretty much as a first choice, from my perspective. So, in a way, we're both hated for what we are."

"I don't even know why I'm saying this. I don't even know why I'm comforting a talking sculpture of an Ice dragon that I so beautifully crafted. But, since you aren't a pony, or a mare to be specific, I have some respect for you. You tried to do what was needed for your family, but you failed. So I guess I'm allowed to pity you. So I did this, I gave you what you wanted. Freedom. I gave you a chance to be free, for a little while. And you enjoyed it. Come on, you've enjoyed this, I know you have. You know full well that you could have completely controlled me when you gave me a piece of your soul. I gave you my complete trust in exchange for the little freedom that you could get, and you didn't turn your back on me. What's more, is that you could have threatened me the moment you came alive with the body I gave you. I gave you a chance to be free again and you gladly accepted it."

The Elder Dragon stared at me, mouth agape and incredulous at my words. I locked my eyes with her as I remained a calm face.

"I don't care if you failed on your conquest and for you to be forced inside me, I'm glad for the few moments of happiness you gave me with your destruction of ponyville. I'm sure that your children and mate would be proud for your efforts."

A veil of silence fell upon us as time passed by, neither of us daring to make a single move.

"I have never created a family." She solemnly said.

I looked at her in confusion.

"Don't you have a mate? Aren't barbaric, yet formal female dragons a hit with barbaric male dragons?"

She averted her gaze from mine, looking at the town once more.

"...."

"Oh..."

"Let's just say....that I've never....felt...another dragon's warmth throughout the years in my long life."

"So, you're a virgin." I said blandly.

She stared at me once more, with an angry expression on her muzzle. Soon after, she gave a sigh.

"If that is how you put it...then yes, I am a virgin."She gave a pained face towards my eyes.

"Due to my...accursed affinity for ice, there have been many a moment when another possible mate refused to touch me. Mainly due to my touch being rather 'icy' for them and their 'friend'." She spat out the quotes in disgust.

So I remained alone, and alone I shall be for eternity. I had been dubbed the 'frigid female' for obvious reasons, but I finally accepted that love was never meant to be part of my destiny."

"And with that, I threw abandoned every aspect of my femininity, opting for a more...violent persona. Soon enough, I became the war general that I wanted to become, and a dragon to not be messed with. Though, some part of me misses the need of another's affection whenever I pass by an elated couple, no matter the species."

"You aren't the only one."

"So I'm suggesting that you, are a 'virgin' too?"

If only that were true.

"Negative."

Fuck it, she's practically opened up to me, despite her hating me a few hours ago. Not once have we actually argued. Not once have I felt anything so much as 'pure' hatred for her. If anything, she's a closer friend to me than Applebloom in these few hours than that little filly ever was, and that was saying something.

She shared her deepest, and possibly most painful memories with me, and yet here I am, taking them for granted and not giving a single ounce of my share.

She deserves it, she deserves to know.

And what better topic to start it off with? It was pretty much the perfect moment. And I doubt that I could even tell what I have said to any other pony, not even Applebloom to an extent, since she has never really accepted the true concept of love.

She gave me her undivided attention as she waited for my next answer.

"..."

"After you were sealed, I was sent to Canterlot and was watched by the Royal guard. I guess that you were still unconscious and resting during that time, am I right?"

She nodded fervently, intrigued by the words coming out from my mouth.

"May I ask your name first before I proceed?" I asked.

"Glaring Blizzard."

"No. Your real name." I glared at her. I knew that it was not her true name. It was her appointed name, at best.

If I was going to entrust this dragoness with what I'm about to say, then I'll need hers first.

Staring into the midnight sky once more, she silently whispered her name to me.

"Soft Snow."

I sighed deeply, preparing to return to my most painful memory yet.

"Soft Snow..."

"I'm going to tell you something I've never told anyone before."

Im going to tell you....

"I'm going to tell you the reason why I hate mares." Next Chapter: I Cried. Get Over It. Estimated time remaining: 1 Hour, 2 Minutes
