The Buffalo Chief stood at the top of the high bluff above town as the clock struck twelve. He sighed.

Rainbow took a quick breath. "He's not gonna do it!"

Applejack, though, had her eye on someone else. She swung her rope and let fly, catching Pinkie in mid-bounce.

Pinkie squirmed as she was dragged back to the group. "Aw! But I need to sing my song!"

"This is a delicate situation, Pinks. There ain't no call for singin'."

Long minutes of tense silence followed, until eventually, the buffalo turned and left. Not long after, a plume of dust could be seen, circling around the orchard. The age-old stampeding trail had been altered.
