Chapter 1: Through The Eyes of an Angel (Bunny)

Fluttershy was telling that I should keep a journal and write down some of the more important moments from my life, so that when I get old, I can look back and "cherish these moments". She says she got the idea from her friend Miss Princess Star Butt Aka The Pony That Sometimes Feeds Me Carrots with her annoying sidekick, Spike the useless dragon. So here goes nothing...

The day I met Fluttershy started off like any other; the sun's rays were blinding my eyes, the rodents with wings were screeching their usual noises, and I was trying to look for my daily meal to save myself from starvation. However, the only food around was either picked clean by the four legged land bounded creatures or was spoiled rotten. The sun was almost setting, but my stomach was still empty. I laid flat on the ground, exhausted from searching. I was even thinking about eating the soil, and of course I would never eat something so foul, but I was tempted.

I raised my head to check if I had missed seeing any fruits in the trees and that's when I saw her; she was an annoying bright yellow like the sun and was one of those four legged horses I had seen around, but she somehow had those rodent's wings attached to her back.

Looking up at her, I could see that her face was full of shock,
"Oh my goodness! You poor thing...",
she said almost in a whisper as she carefully picked me up,
"You must be starving, I need to get some food into you stat!",
she then preceded to carry me off to an unknown destination...

Now normal I would of destroyed anything that even dared to look at my fur let alone touch it, but you have to understand...
I was on the verge of eating dirt, so I had no other option.

She took me to this dingy looking home, and placed me on the hard wood floor.

"Now don't you go anywhere.", she spoke in a singsong voice.

I peered about the room and saw that it was packed with all sorts of beast, some of which I had never seen in the forest.

"Eat up!" she said as she returned and greeted me a great big cheesy smile.

She then placed a large bowl at my feet, that was filled with all sorts of vegetables: lettuce, celery, spinach, turnips, but mostly filled with my favorite, carrots.
Needless to say it was gone in less than a minute.

After a short while, the pony said that it was time for bed and turned off the lights in the house.

I saw a spot to sleep on on a giant green squishy thing that I later found out was called a sofa. As I called this new object my new bed, some of the animals in the room, including other bunnies, tried to take my spot. I put a stop to this quickly as I shoved every creature that tried to stay on the sofa off and onto the floor.

You don't survive in this world by being a pushover...

For the rest of the next day, I stayed in that cramped little hut. I could of left that place anytime I wanted to, but free food was free food, or so I thought until dinner time.

"Come and get it!",
cried the pink haired pony that I had heard the other animals call Fluttershy.

Fluttershy had apparently been out in the forest again, as there were twice as many rabbits as there were the night before.

These new house mates were receiving the same delicious meal I had the night before, while rest of the bunnies, including myself, were served a plate with only a handful of lettuce.

Oh no, I was not going to let this happen, I was not going to be becoming what the other four leggers called a "pet".

Oh sure, in the beginning being a "pet" is fantastic and the horses seem like they truly love their companions; they would brush them, feed them, play with them to the delight of their so called "friends". Until eventually one day, the monsters got bored of the poor creatures and stopped caring about them, and I should know, I seen it happen over a dozen times. And I was not going to end up like them...

So I did what anyone with a brain would of done, I flipped the plate over, causing the food to fly through the air.

"Oh my!",
Fluttershy tried to yell, even though it came out of her mouth in a normal speaking tone. She bent down to talk to me,
"Are you alright?"

I shook my head no and pointed to the other the rabbits delectable food.

"Y-you want the other little bunny rabbit's food?",
she stuttered out.

Yes, I shook my head.

"I-I'm sorry little guy, but that food is made s-specially for the new critters. I'm a-afraid you can't have any..."

At just that moment, my stomach started to rumble. I crossed my arms and looked her straight in the eyes.
I wasn't about to let this go...

"Well, OK then, I'll make it for you this time. I don't want you to starve again..."

She sighed and then quickly trotted to the kitchen and made me the same cuisine I had the previous night.

Like I said, pushovers get no where in this world...

So days turned into weeks, which turned into months and years, and I decided to stick around at the pony's old shack; hey, it may be a shack, but it's a warm shack.

I didn't have a name so Flutters decided to call me Angel because, and I'm not making this up here, I "light up her life like a angel."
Gag..

So everything was fine, Fluttershy did everything I asked her to and I got to do whatever I wanted, that is until he showed up...

Flutters had promised me exactly a week from that date that she was going to play checkers with me and I was excited to beat her. I jumped into the kitchen with the checker board in paw and that's when I saw him, sitting in my seat.

Fluttershy was sitting at the table with him drinking tea when she finally noticed me glaring.
"Oh, were we suppose to play that game today? I'm so sorry Angel, but I promised Discord that I would spend the day with him. And you know how rarely he visits, right? You understand, don't you?"

"Yeah",
sneered that mishmash of animal parts,
"Why don't you buzz off?"

At that moment there was a flash of light, and my board turned into a swarm of bees.

Fluttershy gasp,
"DISCORD!"
She yelled at him.

"What?",
the monster replied with a puppy dog look and a snap of his paw,
"I was just showing the rabbit here some use of onomatopoeia, that's all.."

Before the bees could do any damage to my perfect body, they formed together once again to become my board. I quickly stormed out of there, not wanting to see anymore of that jerk's idea of a prank.

How could Fluttershy do that to me? OK sure, I had flaked out on a few events with her before before, but Fluttershy had promised me, and a promise is a promise! I had decided at that moment to get away from Fluttershy's animal invested cottage and to never ever return. She obviously didn't care about me, and I doubted she would of missed me if I left.

I had started packing up my few belongings into a small red sack, that is until I came across a picture frame with a photo taken from a few years ago.

I remember when that picture was taken as if it were yesterday; It was at Fluttershy's birthday party and it included all the members of this house at that time, with Flutters and me in the very middle of the picture.

I remember making Fluttershy, with my fantastic cooking skills, a lovely fruit salad with freshly sliced apple slices that I had borrowed from the earth chained talentless pony with the huge red barn.

When Flutters had taken the first bite from the dish, she smiled larger then she ever had before. She told me through her stuffed mouth that it was quite possibly the best salad she had every tasted. and ate every last bite.

I didn't know this until later, but Flutters had eaten over ten meals at that point, and twenty after mine. She was sick for over a week, and Harry the bear's surprise birthday hug didn't exactly help either.

She could of easily declined my gift, and completely passed me aside, but didn't because she didn't want my feelings to get hurt...

This had gotten me thinking; if I went to the forest and stayed there, then who would play games with me?

Or feed me extra food for dinner when the other bunnies weren't looking?

Or let me sleep in her bed at night when there were thunder storms?

Or...

"Angel, where are you? Dinner's ready!",
Flutters called me from the kitchen and interrupted my trail of thoughts.

As I hopped into the room, I found that Discord was no where to be found and sun's red beams were coming in from the kitchen window. I apparently had spent the whole day in the house.

"I made your favorite....",
Fluttershy teased, and placed a plate on the ground simply filled with iceberg lettuce and a few slices or carrots.

As I ate, Fluttershy told me that she was sorry that she couldn't play with me that day, but she was sure to do so the following day.

"You know there's going to be a storm tonight? Do you want to sleep in my bed?"

I shook my head up and down. I wish that it could rain every night.

Later that night as I snuggled next to Fluttershy, I remembered my plans of running away. I threw those thoughts out of my head as I tried to drift off to sleep.

I mean, after all...
Where would Fluttershy be without me?
