“Oh come on!” Was what Pixel wanted to shout out but she knew that her parents are more than likely asleep.

“Well will you finally give up?” Her opponent said after beating her in the one on one game 22th time in a row, it was already humiliating for her, but what was worse is the fact that she didn’t get even close to victory in any of these games, always winning only one or two rounds.

And his talking didn’t help her to stay calm.

“Oh you little cocky son of a…”

“Hey hey hey it's time to make some carrrrazzzyy money are ya ready? Here we go!”

Pixel jumped in her seat startled by her phone’s outburst ‘Why the hell is my alarm clock ringing? What time is it.’ Pixel thought and picked up her phone quickly silencing it and looking at the hour.

To her horror it was already 7 a.m. Pixel froze for a moment before her brain activated critical mode, she quickly jumped back on the computer.

“I have to go for now but I’ll kick your ass later!” Pixel almost shouted, she wanted to turn off the game already but instead said one more thing that was on her mind. “And you should think about changing that nick, it's lame.”

Before her opponent could respond she quickly logged out and started her morning activities.

Ponyville Highschool.

“Hey Night! Wait up!” Night stopped and turned around, he smiled and waved at approaching Icy who soon caught up with him and two boys walked together in the direction of school shop with snacks.

“So Night, how did you enjoy yesterday?”

Night pondered for a minute before smiling “It was fun I guess.”

“Yeah, and you know, you shouldn’t worry about what Sunny said.”

Night forced a smile and sighed, how was he not supposed to worry about that.

Yesterday after school, Berry’s Punch bar.

“Hey guys what’s up!” Icy shouted towards the bunch of teenagers while walking inside his, and his friends favorite place to meet, Night following him behind.

“Hey Icy! Oh wow you even got Mr. Perfect with you this time.” Said the girl with unkempt purple-pink hair, she was wearing a white plain hoodie.

“Ha ha, very funny Echo.”

“Oh I’m just messing with you, come on guys take a seat, we already ordered some beers.”

“You do know we have lessons tomorrow right?” Night asked while sitting near Echo.

“That’s why we will drink just one.” Commented the girl with curly white hair with grey highlights, she wore plain dark skirt and light-grey T-shirt.

“All right then, so I guess it’ll be just the four of us? After you said you are drinking with YOUR friends I thought you meant people I didn’t know.” Night asked and looked questioningly at Icy.

“The four of us and my friend from basketball team, but he seems to be a bit late.”

“Well at least I wasn’t late for our game.”

Everyone turned their gaze behind Icy where stood very tall well-built boy with long blond hair which was kept together in a ponytail by a red hairband.

“Hey that happened only once!”

“Yeah sure, so Icy these are your friends you told me about?”

“Oh right! Guys that’s Sunny, he’s our Power Forward and my good friend and Sunny, this is Echo, Cloudy Skies and Night Light.”

Sunny shook hands with each one of them before taking a seat next to Icy.

Soon their friend from school, Ruby who was helping her mom brought their orders, girls started some friendly chatting with Cloudy asking Echo to speak louder from time to time, soon boys followed suit in their small pack.

“So what are you guys going to do after High School?” Sunny asked knowing perfectly well what will Icy’s answer be.

“I’m going into Wonderbolts academy and Night…”

“I will try to get into Canterlot University.” Night stated before his friend could finish, Icy gazed at his friend before shrugging and taking another sip of his beer.

“Wow that’s amazing, good luck then buddy.” Sunny said and raised his glass, Night followed suit and they bumped their glasses before drinking.

“What about you?” Night asked while placing his beer back on the table.

“It would be awesome if I would get into Wonderbolts academy, but if that won’t work out I will work on my parents farm in Dodge City.”

Night nodded and opened his mouth to say something before being interrupted by Icy.

“By the way Sunny, correct me if I’m wrong but weren’t you supposed to come here with this friend of yours?”

Sunny sighed and took another sip “Yeah I was, he’s my best friend since we were kids and I really wish he could get out more. Do you guys want to know why did he decline my invitation?”

Both of them nodded, Icy slightly shaking in his seat.

“He said that there's this new FPS game and he needs to, let me quote “punish some noobs.” can you guys believe that?!” Sunny almost shouted and took another sip finish his drink, both guys looked at each other sympathizing gaze before giving Sunny a friendly hug accompanied by a tap on a shoulder

“We so know how you feel.”

“Y-You do?” Sunny asked a bit surprised.

“Yeah, in fact that is the same thing our friend used as an excuse to not come today.” Night said while Icy finished his beer.

“Really who is it?”

“You probably don't know her, her name is Pixel Bit.”

Sunny pondered for a moment before snapping his fingers. “Oh you mean That Pixel Bit? I sure don’t know her personally but I heard about her a lot from my friends.”

Night looked at Icy expecting some kind of reaction from him, sadly Icy was focused on keeping himself steady in his seat.

“You did?”

“Sure, she’s not really my type but there are many guys in our school who find her very attractive, more than that she’s a gamer girl and as far as I am not into gaming I know that makes her twice as hot in most eyes.” He said blankly while looking at his empty bottle.

Night sat there frozen thinking about Sunny's words, he was sure that he didn’t have to fear that someone might take her away but it seems that the reality is different after all.

“Would you look at that, Icy got drunk again.” Echo stated smirking.

“N-NO I did not.” Icy replied trying to look as steady as possible.

“Oh come on we all know you are extreme lightweight, like that time you tried to impress my cousin by drinking 4 beers? We all know how it ended.”

“Shut up! And besides I did not try to impress Whirlwind, why would I?”

“Because you totally have hots for her.”

“I do not!”

“You do!”

“Do not!”

“You do!”

“Here we go again.” Cloudy sighed and face palmed, Sunny looked questioningly at Night who simply shook his head and sighed.

“Actually Icy I wanted to ask you.” Night said while they both waited in the line to get their hot-dogs.

“What is it?”

“You still have crush on Whirlwind?”

“Oh come on, et tu, Brute, contra me?”

“I just wanted to ask and, hey I’m actually surprised you know this quote.”

Icy gave him death glare and Night grinned dumbly.

“Umm well anyways, I just want to know for sure Icy, you are my best friend and I am just curious you know.”

Icy calmed himself and sighed. “I know that, sorry, and to be honest no, I got over it long time ago, too bad Echo doesn’t want to believe me.”

“That’s because you always let her tease you instead of just ignoring that.”

“Yeah I know but, I just can’t ignore her messing with me and my old crush on her cousin, I don’t know why.”

Night looked at his friend questioningly before they both heard Pixel calling out to them.

“Hey guys!”

“Oh hey Pixel, so how was the gameeeeeahhhh! What happened to you?!” Night asked almost shouting, Icy had similar reaction, Pixel looked terrifying, bloodshot eyes accompanied by dark bags under the eyes, to top it off her hair was a complete mess and she looked like she was about to fall.

“You look like Icy on hangover, seriously what happened!”

“Yeah Pixel what did you… HEY!”

“Oh umm, I guess I might have just played this new game, whole night.” Pixel finished with small giggles, Night looked at her with concerned expression which quickly changed into angry one.

“You. Played. Whole. NIGHT?!” He shouted startling other persons in line.

“W-Well, you guys went out drinking in the middle of the week!”

“You’re right, and now tell me Pixel, which one of us is looking like he’s about to collapse?”

“Hey! It’s not that bad.”

Night sighed and looked at her with once again a care in his eyes. “Pixel look, we are just worried about you.”

“I know guys, I know, I wouldn’t play whole night but I met that fuc… I mean that guy in the game who, emm, let’s say that he gave me quite the challenge.”

“Ohoho, it seems that our Ms. Best found herself a worthy opponent.” Icy commented.

“He he, yeah.” Pixel answered chuckling nervously.

“Well anyways class are soon starting so let’s get those hot-dogs and get going.” Icy said and Night nodded, he once again looked at Pixel concerned about her state, she in return smiled at him making him blush lightly and smile back.

Meanwhile somewhere else in the school.

“What the hell do you mean you stayed up whole night Blaze!” Sunny shouted at his friend, Blaze was a small and skinny boy, his crimson red hair with black highlights was in an unkempt mess, his golden eyes were bloodshot and he had bags under his eyes.

“Oh calm down big guy, it’s not my fault.”

“When whose fault is it?!”

“That weird girl who wanted to play with me one on one whole night even though I kept kicking her ass each single time, and she even called my nick lame after getting completely crushed like that, can you believe that?!”

Sunny facepalmed and sighed.

“Anyways, are you sure you can stay in school, maybe it will be better for you to go back home?”

“Nah man it’s fine I can handle this.”

“Whatever you say.”

Blaze nodded and parted with his friend, in the meantime Pixel and Night walked away from the school snacks shop after boys got their hot-dogs.

Both players very confident in their skills required to survive this day in school, even though neither of them would admit they both looked up to fighting each other once again.

But first they need to wait until the last bell rang.

And this won’t be an easy quest.
