When my superior handed me these documents I was surprised enough to begin reading straight away. After a quick skim, I am questioning whether or not I should continue. When you say these documents are “heavily edited” I at least expected that it would still be Stratos’s writings.

If this is Stratos’s writings then they have been altered practically word for word. Stratos did not write like this. Look, the first two documents regarding Stratos and Zed sound nothing like the ones after it. And the actual Krastos Logs sound the closest to him but that’s not saying much. Okay, I get it, you are telling us “the essence” of what he wrote but don’t play it off like this was him.

Not that I blame you. Stratos was a sloppy writer. He hated proofreading his work and said that as long as it is understandable that was all he cared about.

Let me be frank: As a person who knew Stratos from college I can say with utmost certainty — and I’ve tried to think of a better way to say this but — Stratos Lucid was an unrepentant asshole who deserved what happened to him. This world may have changed him a bit but I still see far too much of what made me despise the man. That smug **** was hardly humble and would never shut up about his hatred for his fellow man even when there was no reason to bring it up. His only redeemable quality was his ability to sound convincing regardless of the fallacies of his logic. If nothing else, at least in death he was able to make himself useful for once.

He was not a likable man. I feel these documents are being dishonest about that.

This is Unknown Soldier Number 7.

Do not use the system to complain to your superiors about technical details. I will post my response for the general staff to see.

You are correct about the files regarding Stratos and Zed. The original files were both over one hundred pages long. I had to personally trim them down to save reading time. My writing conventions seeped in.
Stratos shortened the later files. They are mostly intact aside from my numerous spelling and grammatical edits. The documents after Zed’s are his work. There is no reason to believe that Stratos’s writing would remain unchanged after a decade. Furthermore, consider that a man would not desire to portray themselves negatively.

Read the documents. Do not skim them.

Stratos Lucid did change for the better. This does not mean all of his flaws disappeared. His overconfidence in his abilities never left him. His decision to challenge Krastos proved this.
