Guardsman Kaze was born in Japan into a family of middle-class background. Kaze was an honors student noted for his high marks in any task he performed. He commented that growing up near an American military base and frequent exposure of Hollywood war movies and American first-person shooter video games placed the ideas of persistence, heroism, and camaraderie in his head. When he was seventeen, this outlook later influenced his decision to immigrate to the United States for his higher education. Four years later, he graduated from the military academy at West Point but decided to join the Armor Incorporated security forces back in Japan instead of the U.S. military. When Armor Incorporated called for volunteers for the Human Expeditionary Force, Kaze was one of the first to sign up, vowing to protect company employees with his life thereby setting an example for other international volunteers.
Mere months after arriving, Kaze went on a routine escort of Armor Incorporated scientists. During this time, the group was attacked by what is now assumed to be allies of Krastos. When Kaze realized the other Guardsmen could hold off the attack, he fought his way towards the nearby Equestrian town of White Stable. There, he single-handedly defended the town from these shadow creatures and the unidentified opponents leading the creatures. In spite this being his first time in combat, fighting opponents he had no knowledge of, and sustaining numerous injuries, Kaze continued to fight.
Forty minutes later, when additional Guardsmen finally arrived, they noticed the battle was at a stalemate. A gravely wounded Kaze stood over the remains of many enemy combatants aiming his assault rifle forward, the rest of creatures seemed unwilling to advance and risk his retaliation. The Security Forces mopped up the remaining assailants and went to administer medical assistance. Unfortunately, upon closer inspection, they realized Kaze had died on his feet minutes before help could arrive. It was only his defiant presence holding the dark forces back.
His efforts were not in vain as he was the only one lost in the conflict. Without his quick-thinking and selfless-heroism it is estimated over one hundred Equestrians would have lost their lives.
Kaze’s family has asked for him to be buried where he died. Armor Incorporated has agreed to fund the memorial to be placed at this site.
He will be greatly missed.
