I pray that someone is reading this. Or more accurately that someone is capable of understanding what I am writing.

This is Doctor Stratos Lucid. I do not mean to sound cliché but I’m not sure how much time I have left. I am in a state of mental collapse. It’s hard enough to focus my thoughts and make them coherent enough for comprehension. I do not think it will be long before I will be too far gone to do anything.

It’s not that I have not tried. I have lasted far longer than should be rationally possible against this thing. I have tried my best. I have tried everything. I now stand alone. I won’t last much longer. I cannot stop it forever.

Using what little free time and energy I have left, I’ve taken the precaution to create a program that will automatically copy all of my logs and research into a series of black boxes that will be distributed across Equestria. I know that Equestrians do not have the appropriate technology or know how to work them, at least not yet. So hopefully my colleagues have returned within the lifespan of these files. If not, perhaps another human has arrived by accident.

I need someone to succeed where I will inevitably fail.

Someone like you.

Please read these files, use the knowledge I have collected to stop this thing.

These may be some of my last words so I’ll leave off with this: Regardless of what you may think of humanity, we are likely the best chance this land has to truly kill Krastos. From now on it is your duty as a human, as a representative of humanity, to defend Equestria. Do not let what happened to us, and so many before us, be for nothing. You can do it. You can win.

But you may have to make sacrifices that seem unacceptable. It will be the most horrifying and hopeless task of your entire life.
