From her tower Princess Luna, guardian of the night, stood grazing from her tower she watched all that were below her. Her duty were to the ponies of the night, her children who she let run wild amongst the starry nights. Celestia may have had her subjects who worship the day but Luna had those who gave thanks to the night. Beginning to grow bored she decided that she should allow herself to some fun exploring the night life of Canterlot as she did long ago. Using her mighty wings she flew down from the balcony where she stood. Soaring through the skies she saw a pair of ponies who decided to stay out late on her night. Landing a distant away she realized that the pair were indeed a couple, a loving one as they held each other in their arms showing no signs of letting go.

     "Lovely isn't it." a voice said from behind. Jumping in shock she looked behind her to see that no one was there expect for the mist that began to build up.

      Turning she saw that the couple had left, probably returning to their proper homes. She was about to take lift when she thought she saw two ponies running across the street into a ally giggling loudly. Walking to the ally she saw the mysterious figures ran to Luna used her magic to illuminate the dark. Upon her approach at he end of the ally Luna saw that whoever it was must've flew away. Flying off from the spot she set her course to her balcony where she belong knowing that the night would soon be over.

      Returning to her balcony she that the two ponies where inside her chambers still embracing each other. "Leave this place now!" she order lighting crackling behind her. The ponies soon vanished as the lighting faded leaving Luna in a confuse state, walking to the scene of where the ponies once sat she realize that they were never there to begin with.

     "My sweet Luna, you mustn't be so hard." the voice from before said.

     Luna's horn glowed as her sword was summoned, grasped in her blue aura she held her blade pointed in the direction of the voice she heard. "Show yourself coward and face my sword!" she yelled

    "You'll never hurt me my dear for as long as I live your blade will never touch me." it said in a chilling voice that Luna knew long ago.

     A shadow emerged from a lone corner as it began to take form. It opened it eyes to reveal bloody red pupils, a horn with matching magic aura glowed, and it's body and mane become jet black. Walking toward her the creature eyes were dead all emotions centered on what seemed to be fear.

     "Luna my love it is I." it said to her, with the end of its sentence it took a slight bow in which Luna recognized knowing who was in her room.

     "Sombra" she said her eyes with fear "Shining Armor said he defeated you in the icy plains of his Empire."

     Chuckling to himself he became a black wisp, darting to the doors which lead to the outside he regained physical form using his magic to close creating darkness in which the Princess of the Night could barely see.

     "You'll take that fools word over mine." he said and with a glow of his horn began to create small ghastly lights for Luna to see. Looking at his former lover he saw confusion on her face and smiled revealing his daggered like teeth. "Luna who do you think told him to say that, I did. I overpowered the white stallion and made him my puppet to pull strings with."

     "Why Sombra and if so how are you here now?" she asked. Whatever form of magic he was using it was dark and she knew that Sombra was the king of fear, more than likely trying to use a tactic on her so that he could kill her.

     "If you think I came to kill you I afraid you're wrong." Sombra told her as if he read Luna's mind. "For you see" he continued "I'm merely a message, a copy of myself that I if I ever succeeded in controlling that damnable stallion mind and soul."

     "Then what is your message?" Luna asked wishing that past lover was her so that she could kill him again.

    Looking at her he disappeared before reappearing at her side his mouth at Luna's ear he whispered "I wish for you to join me." he simply said before vanishing again. Raising from the princess shadow he walked around her "You have what I need and I need it now you see, I cannot take war with your sister and her allies if I don't have the supplies I need." he said.

     Luna couldn't believe what she had just heard, not only did Sombra manage to defeat one the best of soldiers in Celestia army he also wanted to control Equestria and to top it off he needed her help. Being beside herself she couldn't decide what to do she loved her sister and the country she protected yet the stallion who she once loved than anything needed her help. Then she remebred the past, Sombra changed using black magic to enslave the Crystal Empire and once defeated on that fateful day choose to bring the destruction of a country than die.

     "Luna you love me still I know." Sombra said and looking at him she saw he changed instead of malice eyes it was full of concern and love, his fur shining bright like obsidian before his fall to dark magic.

     Going close to her he did what she hadn't thought he'll do in the thousand years he been turned, kiss her. The brief moment they shared was magical to her and before it even began it ended.

     Stepping back it took Luna several seconds to realize what had happen "I thought you were a message yet you posse enough magic to imitate a kiss." she told him.

     "Indeed I am, yet I'm truly not dead though yes inside Shining Armor body and soul my mind still runs free and the mesage already faded I am me." Sombra said "I choose you because I need a queen to rule at my side when I conquer Equestria and you my dear my first love need you, now I ask again will you join me?"

     Closing her eyes Luna thought to herself, would she really betray everything she built up after her banishment and join Sombra? Her love for Celestia was great yet it was her who stole everything from her, upon her return everypony feared her all running when in sight. The council themselves didn't trust her before and after her return, her only friend being the night and it only.

     Without knowing a dark blue wisp formed lowering the moon brining amusement to Sombra "So Luna, Princess of the Night, will you join

me?"

     Her eyes opened showing icy blue eyes with slits made in them, her evil grin coming as the sun began to rise creeping its way in her chambers. Looking at him Luna was gone a monster in her place chuckling to itself "Really love must you ask."
