War has torn the continent of Glistendale in half. There is no town on the landmass that has not sustained a casualty from either side of the war. On the side of the corrupted monarch are the King's Crusaders, a faction clad in strong white armour with their faces hidden by red helmets. On the side of the rebellion are the members of the Hearthfall Militia, a rag-tag group of mares, stallions and fillies trying desperately to release and destroy the choke hold of the dying monarchy. In the middle of this turmoil two brothers find themselves. The senior, Nimbus and his younger brother Cloud, have heard rumour of the warm lands of Equestria opening their gates to refugees of the war, and that all they need do is bring their identification with them and they shall be allowed entrance to the land of peace. Hope has finally come for these two brothers, but the frozen lands may yet take them away from the sunlight's gift.
