Chapter 1: From The Nightly Shore...

From The Nightly Shore...

"Twilight, wake up!"said the young purple dragon, shaking her slightly to rouse her from her slumber.

"Mhhhmmn...? Spike?"said Twilight, yawning as she began to rise from her bed.

"Rise and shine! You have a meeting today with Celestia and Luna in an hour, so hurry up and get ready!"said Spike, heading downstairs towards the kitchen.

Twilight groaned as she got out of bed. After making her bed, she grabbed a towel and headed towards the bathroom for a shower. After she was done with her shower, she sat at her mirror and brushed her mane and tail. When she was done, she put on her clothes and her crown and headed towards the dining room.

"So what's for breakfast?"asked Twilight, yawning as she took a seat at the end of the dinner table.

"Eggs, apple juice, and a salad!"said Spike, placing the food on the table in front of her. Twilight was still getting used to the beauty and vastness of her new castle. She enjoyed having her own castle and all, but it just seemed so empty. She didn't have any servants, mainly because she preferred doing things on her own and didn't want to be a burden to others, but now she was beginning to wish she had another pony to talk to. She scolded herself for being so selfish. Once she was done with her food she excused herself from the table and floated her plate across the room into the kitchen and in the sink.

Twilight walked into the main hall and headed toward the front door where Spike was waiting patiently.

*KAAABOOOOMMM!*

Twilight swung the door open in a rush too see what had happened only to be greeted with large clouds of dust and smoke. She flapped her wings to clear the dust and smoke and contiued to walk outside, Spike following closely behind her. As the duo took in their surroundings, they noticed a large smoking crater sitting in the middle of the peaceful town. After taking a closer look, they noticed a strange purplish orb sitting in the middle of the crater. Everypony was outside now, staring wide-eyed in curosity at the strange purplish orb that now sat in the middle of their town.

"What in Celestia-" Spike began to say before he was interupted by a loud rumbling noise coming from the mysterious orb. The rumbling rose in volume as the ground shook violently, causing everypony in the vicinity to lose balance and fall to the cold ground. Twilight looked up to see that clouds were swirling around the purplish orb of unknown origin. Then, without warning, the orb collapsed in on itself sending a shockwave of immensly powerful magic outwards, causing everypony to take cover.

After the shockwave dispersed, everypony turned their attention back towards the orb, only to see that it had been replaced by what seemed to be a tailess earth pony stallion clad in dark armor. The creature held a translucent cyan blade with a diamond embedded in the hilt. The sword was embedded in the ground and the creature appeared to be kneeling. Suddenly, the strange being lifted its head and began scanning the crowd of equines with its wild and intense green eyes.

**Ruvaak**

Well, this is unexpected...,thought Ruvaak, looking around himself and noticing that he was completely surrounded by what appeared to be humanoid equines of various colors. Standing up, he put Vulon Peyt back in its sheath before turning his attention back to the ponies.

"Um...excuse me, but, who and what are you?" said a purple female with wings along with a crown and horn atop her head. She wore a tan vest, plaid skirt and high heels. Ruvaak leaped through the air and landed in front of the humanoid equine causing it to jump back a bit in surprise. He bowed and introduced himself.

"Greetings, I am Ruvaak. Who might you be?" asked Ruvaak.

"I-I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle, and this is Spike. I-It's very nice to meet you!" Twilight stammered.

"Likewise." Said Ruvaak, disregarding the shocked mare to look around himself once more. He noticed two things. One, there was substantial lack of males or, "stallions" in this case. Two, almost all of the residents were cowering behind either an object or another person. Not good. If I want to reach him I'll need to gain their trust. And I know just the person to help.... He thought as he mentally chuckled to himself before fading back into his mental paradise.

**Twilight**

"Um...excuse me, but, who and what are you?" Asked a very timid Twilight. Without warning, the outsider leaped through the air and landed right in front of her. Surprised, she jumped back fought the ever growing urge to run away. The outsider bowed before speaking in a deep voice, proving that he was in fact male.

"Greetings, I am Ruvaak. Who might you be?" He asked with a smile.

"I-I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle, and this is Spike. I-It's very nice to meet you!" She stammered.

"Likewise." He said simply as he quickly scanned the area once more.

She was appalled at the insane amount of magic that was coming from the being who called himself Ruvaak. Now that he was closer, she noticed the armor that he was wearing had a mysterious aura emanating from it and 6 crescent-shaped, light blue jewels in it ; one on each pauldron and knee guard, one in the middle of the chest-plate, and one just above the visor on the helmet. She also noticed that there was a cape attached to the back of the armor. Spike was shaking slightly behind Twilight as he glanced at Ruvaak. She glanced down at him and gave him a reassuring smile.

Ruvaak's eyes rolled back in his head as he suddenly collapsed  and landed on top of the mares breasts and fell unconscious. Twilight blushed profusely as she struggled to push Ruvaak's head off of her assets. Twilight regained her composure and got on her knees. She looked down and started poking his head in an attempt to wake him before finally deciding that he was out cold. Well...that was unexpected.

"What should we do with him Twilight? Should I write a letter to the princesses?" asked Spike. Twilight thought for a moment before finally standing up. Well, we can't just leave him here...I guess we'll have to take care of him until he wakes up. She let out a sigh.

"Spike, grab his legs and help me carry him into the castle. We need to find out who he is and what he's doing here."  said Twilight as she grabbed the creature's shoulders and lifted. Spike grumbled to himself and hesitated before he grabbed the outsider's lower body and helped Twilight carry Ruvaak into the castle.

*****

Twilight and Spike walked towards one of the couches in the living quarters and carefully placed Ruvaak on it. Twilight sat next to him on the couch and stared at him. Who are you...? Twilight thought to herself.

"Spike, write a letter to Princess Celestia and tell her what happened. I think she will want to know about this....whatever he is," Spike nodded and went upstairs to grab a piece of paper and a quill.

As the young dragon left the room, Twilight continued to stare at the being who lay next to her. I wonder... She thought to herself as she put her hands on the dark helmet and proceded to take it off. She let out a slight gasp when she saw his long, brown hair, small ears, hairless face, and short muzzle. He looks so...peaceful. She thought to herself as she absentmindedly ran her fingers through his hair. She was slightly startled when he leaned closer to her for warmth and laid his head on her lap. Twilight giggled and smiled down at him. He's almost like a child... she thought as she too drifted off to sleep.
