The choice.
It was late, very late. Rainbow Shine had already lain her little head on her rainbow pillow and fallen into a deep slumber. A bang was heard downstairs making her jump awake.
''W-what the?''
A stallion bolted into her room and made a 'tch' sound. He through a piece of fabric at her and gagged her. She had muffled sounds before fainting.
He watched the filly fall. He scoped her up onto his back.
''Man she's heavy!'' said Canter as he ran downstairs past to blood and gore that was left of Rainbow Dash and Soarin. He left the house and flow high up into the skies where the Rainbow Factory was.
''Boss, I did the job and got the foal!''
''Good job, Canter'' said Boss. ''I expect that this foal, being a pegasus can become a alicorn by attaching a alicorn horn to her''
'I'm sure. And I presume we got Princess Twilight Sparkle?''
''Yes. We do. Bring her in!''
Twilight was dragged into the dark room and shocked to see that her daughter, to her anyway was out cold and might be dead for all she knew.
''No...NO! DON'T HURT HER!''
''We don't wanna hurt her. Being the daughter of Rainbow Dash, she has the ablity to become the next heir to the Rainbow Factory''
''No.. Don't make her do it. She only 4 years old and has a whole life ahead of her!'' screamed Twilight not wanting her daughter caught up in this.
''Well.. Well... We need your horn so you shouldn't worry as you'll probably be dead!'' Twilight's face become crippled with shock and horror.
''Don't please...Leave her out of this!''
''No more talking. You can send a letter to her through. Here now get writing'' said the boss. Twilight frowned sadly but wrote to her daughter like a proper mother.

I was so happy when Dash got pregnant with you knowing that you we're my foal but then Soarin came and wanted your mom. Please don't hate me for not being there. I wanted too but Soarin didn't want me anywhere near Dash in a way of romance. So I took the place as your 'aunt' so you didn't have fighting parents.
I didn't want to put you through this but I had no choice in the matter. Please don't hate me for this too. I truly want to be your daddy/mommy or whatever but after today, even if you want me. I won't be around for you. My sweet little Rainbow. Please treasure my horn, not as your own but as a gift from a loving but dead parent.

The Boss smiled and slowly grabbed a knife and gave it to Canter who was holding Rainbow Shine. He grinned and slowly cut off Twilight's horn making her bleed heavily and collapse into unconsciousness.
The blood, this princess made was heavy but he didn't care. Watching as she collapsed. He was grinning. He grabbed the bloody horn in her hoof.
''Now sew it on!''
''As you wish''
He grabbed a needle and started sewing the horn on the young heir to the Rainbow Factory. Blood fell over the white head staining it to red. The Boss stood up revealing his wings and horn. His horn glow a blood red like his eyes. The horn glow too and the stitches vanished and the horn looked like it had always been there.
''Now tie her to that chair and inform me when she wakes''
''Yes'' He tied the filly to the chair will some strong ropes and fixed a magic lock brace around her neck so she didn't have a magic breakdown when she woke up.
She cracked her eyes opened and smelled a faint snift of blood in the dark air and screamed bloody murder when she saw her 'aunt' on the ground soaked in blood like her lovely parents. She noticed that Twilight's horn was gone and there was a note next to her saying.

''Daddy.....'' she uttered referring to the true parent she never knew. 'Wait a horn' She thought in confusion. She then saw the lavender her fixed onto her head and gasped before starting to cry.
''Boss, she's up!''
''Gooood. Now return to your room!''
''Yes sir!''
''Now Rainbow Shine. I see you read the letter from your mother''
''Y-yes...'' said Shine nervously.
''Now. Do you wanna save her and become an assassin for the Rainbow Factory or do you wanna die along with her?''
''I-I....I don't want daddy dead so make me an assassin!''
''I can't 'make' you one but you will be put under severe training done by Canter who just left the room''
''F-fine'' She didn't care as long as her daddy was saved.
''Good!.. Now guards clean up this mess that needs to be send back to Ponyville!'' Shine was annoyed that they referred to her daddy as mess but just sat there unemotionally trying to not show she wasn't fully fine with this.
Four years later
Shine, now 8 years old, but knows a lot more then most adults. Cantor was kind to her when she was doing her training. Today was her last lesson so she was looking forward to it. As she walked, her face showed now emotion but her eyes twinkled with a slight sadness.
She made it to a door. She lit her horn up and opened the door with her magic saying.
''I'm here, Cantor'' Her face still showed no emotion.
''Oh good morning. My little princess'' She looked into a darkness and saw the Boss.
''Boss, what are you doing here?''
''Gonna watch my heir's final training''
''Oh'' She walked over to where Cantor stood. ''We're starting then?''
''Yep!''
He grabbed a sword out of his thick rainbow themed clothes. She however levitated a small dagger, her choice of weapon in front of her.
''Why do you always use a dagger'' He asked as they fought in mostly silence.
''Because it's easy to handle and causes a lot of damage'' She aimed at him and cut into it's leg while saying that in deadpan meaning lifelessly. He grinned.
''Your good aren't you?''
''I guess so'' She really didn't care. She wanted out of this horrible place but had no choice on the matter. She aimed again but this time at his ear. It hit straight cutting half of his eyes. Blood drip to the ground as he grabbed hold of his ear.
''You pass!'' She looked at him uncaring.
''I guess. I didn't do much''
''Boss. You got a good heir''
''I know. Your my best worker and she got two hits on you where most wouldn't even get one''
''I know. I'm so proud!'' Shine just watched not showing a single emotion. She had made it through training meaning she was now able to kill properly.
''Mommy, watch over me. I will succeed this for you!''
She continued watching the others. Some emotions appearing in her eyes. Sadness, regret and determination. Who knew what else.
First kill
Shine was asleep on her horrible bone bed, tossing and turning trying to get comfortable. She had some tears escaping her normally non-emotional eyes, she was dreaming about her dead mom. Her colorful wings went out as she screamed awake. Her panted, sweat rolling down her already drenched face.
Cantor came in saying.
''Shine, are you alright?''
''Yeah. Just a bad dream'' said Shine trying to be ill-emotional.
''Okay. Wanna talk about it?''
'It was about my mom. She died the day I came here. Do you know?'' She never saw that Cantor as her kidnapper.
''Shine. I was the one who killed your mom and step-dad'' She gasped, for one of the few times since being kidnapped she cried.
''So you been lying to me since I was four years old!''
'No...Don't cry please princess!'' He was only 12 in truth and had a huge crush on Shine since she came her when he was 8.
''Why do you call me 'princess',''
''Because to me your are my princess. I love you for god's sake, Shine!''
''Huh...''
''I said I love you''
''I heard'' She was back to ill-emotional.
''Don't go all not wanting on me''
''No..I can't help it. I love you too but aren't you a bit old for me'' He smiled.
''I'm not too old. I'm only 12, four years older then you. Too old is five or more.'' She smiled and they soon eloped into a huge kiss.
Shine woke up the next day with Cantor next to her.(No they haven't do it. Just sleeping together in the same bed) His eyes fluttered open and smiled.
''Morning, sweetheart''
''M-morning'' she said blushing.
'Today's your 'first kill'. Are you ready?''
''Yeah I guess''
''Your not?''
''Of course not. I never killed. I came from a family tree of alicorns and members of the Rainbow Factory but never fully knew'' Her lavender horn glittered slightly to prove a slight point, that she wasn't used to using it yet.
''I know''
''Cantor..Why did you kill mom and my step-dad''
''Because they didn't want you involved or your baby brother for that matter''
''Dark Streak...'' She remembered her beloved baby brother's name.
''Do you miss him?''
''Yeah. He was my baby brother. We loved each other to bits''
''I know it's hard but it's time to get over it''
''I know. Four years already''
''Yep''
Her job was to defeat the ponies shipped in then ship them in but make sure their weak. She grabbed a small ship which they used and like a drone, got onto it.
She landed on the ground which she hadn't seen since the moment she was kidnapped. She looked at the picture of the foal she had to get. It was a normal periwinkle filly with black hair and golden 'derpy' eyes. Her name was Ditzy Rolls.
She was gonna become a rainbow either way. She then had a stroke a luck for the filly came right towards her smiling.
''Hi! My name is Ditzy Rolls. Are you new here? Whats your name?''
''I'm not new here and my name is Rainbow Shine'' She said using a emotionless tone of voice. She summoned her dagger and cut the fillies horn off clean stroking a load of blood. Can't use magic = Can't get away as far as the Boss told her. She picked up the filly with her alicorn magic that her 'daddy' gave her.
She loaded the filly onto the ship and drove into a huge darkening sky.
Emotional issue and daddy.
Shine slowly walked down the corridor towards her bedroom which was the only place, she left herself go. The moment, she ran into there, she would be crying. Which was what she did.
''I don't want this place...I want daddy!'' Despite screaming this, nopony heard her. Her tears often flooded her bed but using her daddy's horn, she would dry it to not show anything to the Boss. She trusted Cantor being how they we're in love but not the Boss.
She sat there crying for a while for her 'daddy'. She never showed much emotion anymore being how she had to be a assassin to protect her daddy who was now a pegasus. She could still remember the time, she rose to see her daddy on the floor. She took a little while to remember it so she could see her daddy's face again.
I woke up, I didn't know how long I had been asleep for but I still woke up. I was in a dark place, my wings seemed to hurt and my hooves we're tied together. I gasped knowing where I was. The Rainbow Factory. Mommy once ran it and didn't want me or Dark Streak too.
Then my back hooves felt something gross so I look down. I would never forget what I saw. Auntie Twilight on the floor with blood coating her body and floor around her. And her horn was missing so blood leaked out of the hole that was left. I wanted to threw up and cry but I couldn't do either seeing how I probably be turned into a rainbow soon.
She cried even more after the memory came fully back to her. But after a good minute or two, Her tears dried up but her bed was as wet as the sea. Her horn was wrapped in the same magenta as her daddy and the bed became as dry as her face which was formerly drench.
Shine got up from her bed and walked over to the window at the night sky, she wished to be out of here still but knew it was impossible. She then caught a glance at something and narrowed her violet eyes to see closer. The thing got closer and closer and eventually Shine gasped.
It was her daddy, Twilight. Some tears creep into her eyes as she back up slowly to give Twilight some room to land. Twilight soon landed. There was a bandage on her forehead where her horn should be.
''Daddy!''
''Sorry I'm late sweetie'' The mother and daughter hugged tightly both crying.
''Why didn't you come earlier?'' said Shine parting the hug slightly.
''I didn't know, if you were still alive''
''But how did you find that out?''
''When news came around the a filly with rainbow mane knocked out a filly near the everfree and took her away''
''Sorry'' said Shine gasping at the thing she did.
''It's okay. You were forced to do it. Come on, your mommy is waiting and so is Dark Streak''
''Huh...But...But they can't be alive...Cantor killed them''
''Reviving magic. Celestia did it for me''
''Oh....''
''Come'' Twilight bend down onto her hooves for Shine to get on.
''B-but...''
''What's wrong?''
''Cantor...''
''Cantor?''
''We love each other....''
''Oh...Go get him. Don't let the Boss see you''
''Okay, daddy'' The filly put on her unemotional mask on and left the room, looking back for a moment at her daddy. She eventually saw the red and blue body that was Cantor.
''Cantor!..'' He turned and stared at her with his deep blue eyes smiling.
''Hi Shiny''
''Um can you come with me?''
''Sure'' He followed her to her room and gasped when he spotted the now pegasus princess of friendship. ''Why is she here?''
''To get me out of this hell-hole''
''B-but what about me?''
''Do you wanna come?'' asked Twilight.
''I would go anywhere with your daughter, Princess Twilight'' He bowed.
''No need for that'' Twilight giggled. She lowered down again and the colt and filly hopped on and they soon left the room into a starry night sky. Cantor smiled watching Shine hug her daddy's neck with tears of joy in her eyes.
A happy family.
They landed just outside the crystal like Rainbow Friendship Castle. Twilight lowered down onto her heels and the two foals got off. Shine was the slower one because she was unsure if this was a trap or not.
''Don't worry, sweetie. Your mommy is in there waiting,'' said Twilight nudging Shine with her muzzle.
''O-okay, daddy,'' uttered Shine gently closing her eyes as her dad nuzzled her. Twilight smiled and the filly got off her back, she noticed something on her daughter's flank. A rainbow in between two clouds.
''Hey, sweetie do you know you got your cutie mark?''
''I never noticed,'' uttered Shine looking at her cutie mark. ''Cantor, did you ever see it?''
''Yes, I did. You had in since your first kill day''
''Wha...,'' She was shocked, she had a killer cutie mark. Twilight tired to calm her now crying daughter.
''Shhh. It's okay. You didn't mean it,''
''B-but....,'
''Shh. You were forced too,'' said Cantor trying to calm his filly friend down. After a few minutes, her tears dried up and she accept she had her cutie mark.
''Sweetie, don't worry. We could pass it off as a cutie mark for making a sonic rainboom,''
''I guess...,'' They slowly walked inside to where the huge corridor was, they walked down the corridor.
''Don't fret. It be okay I'm certain,'' said Cantor
''It's okay, Cantor...I'm taking it,'' They made it to the door leading into the throne room. Twilight smiled and said.
''Wanna do it yourself?'' Shine looked confused for a moment but her horn glow along with the door opening it only to have Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, the CMC and definitely Pinkie Pie jump out yelling.
''Welcome back and birthday!''
''Huh? Birthday?'' Rainbow grinned and walked over to her oldest foal with Dark Streak, a baby grey pegasus colt with grey rainbow mane like Discorded Rainbow Dash, on her back.
''Hey, kiddo. How did you forget your own birthday?''
''I...,''
''Dashie. Don't worry, she been in the Rainbow Factory since the age of 4. It natural to forget,''
''Okay, Twi. I hate that place now that I know that it hurts ponies,''
''Yea. We're glad that you stopped,''
''Me too. When Rainbow Shine came along, I just knew,''
''Yeah, now come on, sweetie. Pinkie probably gonna die from a heart attack if we don't eat cake and you don't open your presents,''
''I'm perfectly fine. Aren't I, everypony?'' She turned to the screen when saying the last bit. Everypony looked at each other but then shrugged at Pinkie's normal self. ''Ok. Cake time!''
''Now that's Pinkie Pie...,'' said AJ but she smiled as Pinkie Pie ran into another room yelling.
''Cupcakes! Cupcakes!''
''Okay...Pinkie Pie is Pinkie Pie,'' said Rainbow.
''Yeah,'' said Shine gently. Pinkie Pie came back in pushing a huge cake with 8 rainbow themed candles. It had seven layers with a candle on each layer and one at the very top. Also each layer was a different color, red at the bottom, violet at the top and there was two streaks, one of rose pink, the other violet running down from the top of the cake.
Shine gasped, looking at the cake that Pinkie Pie made her.
''Is there really my cake?''
''Yes! Positively!''
''Pinkie...You over did it for a 8 year old,'' said Rainbow.
''What how? She a princess isn't she?'' said Pinkie in confusion. ''Aren't I right, Dashie''
''Yea but she wasn't always a princess ya know''
''But, she an alicorn?'' said Pinkie, probably forgetting that the horn once belong to Twilight.
''She was a pegasus but the Rainbow Factory members stole Twilight's horn and sewed it on probably casting a spell on it making it work!'' said Rainbow in annoyance.
''As...For as I know, they did,'' uttered Shine trying to break up the argument.
''She's right. The Boss got me to sew the horn on and he cast a spell on it,'' Rainbow looked confused at Cantor.
''Okay. Who's he?''
''Mommy, he well my colt friend...''
''Eh, my daughter already has a colt friend!'' cried Rainbow in shock.
''I will sort your mom out. Get a slice of cake you two'' said Twilight going up to Rainbow. The two foals looked at each other before going to the huge cake and grabbing one of the already cut slices. Pinkie Pie was already stuffing her face with cupcakes.
''Is that pink pony always like this?'' asked Cantor.
''Yeah...Not that I have seen her since I was four but as I remember, she always baked the best cakes and was particularly my aunt,''
''Oh,'' Rainbow came over and said.
''Okay, you two. I have talk with Twi and I guess we're find with you loving each other and Cantor, I gonna ask do you wanna leave here with us?''
''I would love that''
They smiled and then a loud voice was heard making everypony giggle.
''Cake time, over! Now presents!''
''Come on, little one!'' said Rainbow.
''Hey I'm not small,'' frowned Shine but she giggled along with her mom and dad. They ran over to where the huge pile of presents were smiling happily to be a family again.
