Twilight wakes up and finds herself and everyone she knows in a changeling hive. Given the opportunity to escape, she manages to get out with just her closest friend, Spike. Vowing to free everypony and get them home, Twilight sets out to find shelter. However, she quickly finds that the Equestria she has woken up in is nothing like the one she remembers. From horizon to horizon the world is devastated, and ponies live in fear and misery.
