Chapter 1: Seriously Dark Pink

Seriously Dark Pink

How it happened, I will never know. One minute I was performing at the Ponyville stadium, the next I find myself trying to usher everyone to safety. Bombs rained down on us with no mercy, demolishing walls and stands within seconds. Dust and debris filled my vision and nose. It was absolute chaos and destruction. I barked out orders to the rest of the Wonderbolts.

"Get them out from under there! Go grab that filly! Watch out for that bit of ceiling!" Yup, total and complete utter chaos. I flew around patrolling everything and grabbing ponies out of harms way as I dodged bits and pieces of the stadium, or what was left of it. Ponies screamed and screeched in sheer terror, while others cried out for their loved ones. Still others were standing rigid in shock or fear, maybe both. They may not have even screamed anyway with their voices overtaken by that of bombs and the sound of a building crumbling to dust very quickly. I didn't want to hear any of it. I begged for Celestia to make it stop, but my frantic muttering was barely audible over the destruction, much less all the way over in the grand city of Canterlot. I grit my teeth as a hunk of....something flew at me. When I say hunk, I mean as in a big huge piece of rock hurtling towards me at top speed being thrown out of the way by an oncoming bomb. I tried moving out of harms way, but it felt like my body had frozen up. As fear held me in place, and as I watched with wide eyes my brain could only register one thought, Sweet Luna this is going to hurt so bad.

And then, I saw blackness...

"Mph... what? What the?" I woke up to find darkness all around me and a faint light coming from a small fire. How did that get here? Where the buck am I? I groaned as I rubbed my head. This was definitely not cool.

I looked around, trying to see anything familiar, but the fire only provided little light, and I could only see my hooves in front of me. I tried to move, but pain surged through my body, paralyzing me for a full minute of pain. Bad idea... I thought to myself. What would I do now since I couldn't move and I didn't know where I was? I was going to call out for help until...

"I see you're awake." Said a serious feminine voice.

"Who's there?" I questioned, looking around the dark space for the pony.

"We shouldn't be talking right now." She warned.

"What? You didn't answer-"

"Shh..." She shushed and covered my mouth with a hoof. In the dim firelight, I could see it was tinted a light pink color, though it was a bit of hard to tell with all the dirt and grime covering it.

I was wondering why she was trying to be quiet until the ground shook... over me? I could hear a few muffled voices above me, and they sounded angry.

"The colorful bastards should be right under us..." one voice said.

"Yeah, and they're probably dead! Come on, we're wastin' time here."

"Yeah, but I have a feeling..." The first voice trailed off as if the voice's owner was listening for any sounds. "Yeah, this is stupid. It's just rocks and dead ponies. No worries." I heard two sets of footsteps- one set quite heaver- walk away from us until they were completely gone.

"What were they talking about?" I asked the pony that was around somewhere.

"We should be dead right now." The pony explained calmly. "Luckily, they know that too, so we should be safe for now. We were lucky to be buried into a different room instead of being squished into the ground by a boulder. I found some useful supplies in here. I think we fell into a medical room." she said.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I am Colonel Pie, although you could just call me Pinkie Pie. You already know me." She said.

"Pinkie Pie? What? I didn't know that was you because you were so..." I trailed off. This is so messed up...

"Serious?" She finished, and I nodded. "I am usually excitable, but right now is not a time to be excited. You don't know this, but before I was everpony's happy-go-lucky mare, I served in the military for fifteen years. I was a Colonel for ten years. I thought I would look old because of all of that fighting, but luckily I look 35. The exact age I need to look. But it seems like I'll have to fight again." She muttered sadly.

"Wow, fifteen years? That's pretty impressive. Makes you sound old though." I said.

"Heh, yeah. Anyways, we have to get out of here. Ever heard of a gun?" She asked suddenly.

"A what?" I asked.

"Okay, that is to be expected. Well, a gun is a weapon incorporating a metal tube from which bullets, shells, or other missiles are propelled by explosive force, typically making a characteristic loud, sharp noise. There is a trigger right here, a handle right here, and it has red dot sight on it. It even has a silencer." She pointed at the things she was referring to. "It can kill a griffon in four shots and a diamond dog in three. It is really good too. The most customized hoof-gun out there."

My eyes widened. Kill? We had to kill someone?! I cannot do this. I have fought, hurt, and did other things to other ponies, but killing is just... low.

"Wait, kill?"

"Yes, we have to kill if we want ponies to keep our land. They want to take over, so we have to protect our land. We've done this for a long time, really. We just don't let the ponies know that this war is going on. That's why you don't know about guns. No citizen does until they're in the army. We wanted to keep peace and harmony, not scare the ponies half to death. But we didn't expect a terrorist attack!" She exclaimed.

"Wait, who is attacking us?" I asked confusedly.

"Well, here's all the information you need to know. The Diamond Dogs and Griffons are attacking. They are so greedy for power, and want to take our land from us. There have been rumors in the army going around that they want to enslave us like Sombra enslaved the Chrystal ponies. One of our enemies actually decided to be on our side so that they'd be safe. The changelings are counted as ponies to the Griffons and the Diamond dogs, and since we weakened the Changelings, they need help to fight against them. We ponies are about forgiveness, so they can now be counted as fr-enemies. Plus we have the Crystal ponies on our side. But we have a major problem. The dragons and Minotaurs are thinking about joining the enemy. Luckily, Dragons keep to themselves and Minotaurs don't care about either of us.

"But, how will I be able to help? I'm in pain as you can see, not in my highest point of awesomeness right now, heh." I questioned, and added a little bit half- hearted humor to feebly attempt to shed some light in the grim situation. Apparently, I wasn't helping. Pinkie rolled her eyes which somehow in the darkness I could see, courtesy of my meek fire.

"Stop, you're starting to sound like Rainbow Dash. I believe you two know each other more than I know. Anyways, we're in a medical room, Spitfire, I can help you easily. You'll be all healed up pretty soon. But for now, I need you to sleep." Pinkie cooed in a stern voice as my eyelids fell prey to gravity and closed, enclosing me into complete blackness.
