Discord was standing there for about five minutes, just going over his memory of what happened. He shook out of his trance to eavesdrop on anything Fluttershy may be saying to Rarity and Applejack.

"...and then he grabbed me and took me away from those dreadful animals," Fluttershy explained to which the two mares gave a small 'mhmm' to every sentence she said, but Discord was fixed on every word she said.

"She really trusts me. Ha! Hysterical! She'll just keep thinking that. Poor dear, she doesn't know what she's doing at all." He kept listening, but Rarity had gotten into the conversation as well.

"He seems like a real hero, wouldn't you think?" The mare stiffened a chuckle just thinking about Discord being a hero with a name like Captain Goodguy.

Fluttershy was completely oblivious to the mare's sarcasm. "He was! Almost like a knight in shining armor! A real hero!"

Discord stood back a little. "Somepony actually thinks I'm good? How could that be with my appearance and my nature?"

He was growing tiresome of listening and decided to barge in. He charged through the kitchen doors. "Hello dears!"

"Hi," he looked down to see Fluttershy at his feet looking up with a cute little smile plastered on her face. He could've sworn he heard a SQUEE whenever she smiled. That smile seemed to slightly warm that stone heart of his.

He bent down to her level. "You've already been here for a day, and since you will be staying with us for Celestia knows how long, so I will be escorting you through the castle."

"Of course, I would love to," Fluttershy slowly walked by her host's side.

The first room was Rarity and Applejack's rooms which were both decorated with fabrics and gems for Rarity's and medals, apple-themed decoration, and many farm tools for the outside gardens for Applejack's. The hallways seemed to go on forever, even though the castle looked as big as the Golden Oaks Library.

Next, they stopped over at Discord's living quarters which were full of the oddest stuff.

"What do you think about my living style? Surely you think this is strange and weird," he hoped he could at least be a fair bit intimidating with his surroundings.

Fluttershy wasn't how he thought she would act, but was looking at every single detail with awe. "I love it. It's strange but refreshing." She of course thought it was weird, but she was too grateful to ever point out any flaws of his.

Last, they stopped at a stairway that leaded to a room. Fluttershy started to bring her hoof up to the first step to which Discord instinctively threw his long body in front of her to block. She quickly stepped back and almost ran away, but did not want to look rude.

Discord quickly softened back into his goody-two hooves as he saw the legitimate fear in her eyes.

"Sorry dear," He conjured a feather duster to brush her down. "I just don't want anypony going in there."

"Why-"

"It's off limits," he quickly snapped, interrupting her.

Days passed as each stayed in their respective rooms, thinking about each other, occasionally passing each other in the hallways.

Discord was done with the silence. He had about a month and a half to have her by his side or else he will meet a fate worse than death. He could only imagine staying in stone watching the world from a case of rock for am eternity. He went into her room as she was laying on her bed, waving her hoof in front of her muzzle as a way to entertain herself. He couldn't help but chuckle at her silliness.

"Having fun?" He chuckled as Fluttershy jumped behind the bed as he seemed to pop up closer to her bed.

The small pony squeaked as she fell off her bed only to be clumsily caught by Discord before hitting the floor.

"Thanks," she muttered, blushing in embarrassment.

"No problem dearest," he did a very overdramatic bow as he heard the mare giggle. He flopped onto the other side of Fluttershy's unusually large bed. "Soooooooo.... You've lived with us for about a week or two, and yet.." He turned to see his guest's face tilted in confusion. "I hardly know a thing about you besides animals and that incredibly rude stallion."

She looked back at him with a softer expression. "Oh.... well..." She sorted through her kind to think of anything else. "I've never really had a friend before, until a little while ago."

His ears perked up in interest. "Is that so," He moved a bit closed. Discord really hoped she didn't miss anyone she left. "And who praytell are these friends?"

Fluttershy stifled a giggle. "It's you, Rarity, and Applejack, silly."

Discord leaned back in surprise. "Really? Me?" Could this possibly mean she's on his side, but to finally have a friend.

"Of course!" She responded. "Why wouldn't I?"

Discord became a little self-conscious, but he couldn't think of a better sob story than his life. "Well.. it's just.." He made his best little puppy dog eyes. "It's just that nopony has ever shown me any kindness as you did. They would run away before I could hello. Does my appearance scare everypony?" He quickly realized that what he said sounded so cheesy, but before he could change his choice of wording, Fluttershy was already answering with an even cheesier response.

"Discord, you're an amazing person, despite what others might think. You're kind enough to let ponies stay at your house, you're magic does wonderful things, and even though you're 'different', you're perfect just the way you are." Her smile brought a feeling of security to the creature.

Discord wiped away a fake, but almost too real tear from the corner of his eye. "Thank you, dear. That was beautiful."

He pulled her into and hug and for the first time in his life... he felt happiness.

Discord snapped out of another one of his trances and stood back up in a very stiff position. "I must leave now, but feel free to wander anywhere except that room I pointed out, okay?"

The mare shook her head in understanding as he left. She slowly, but silently flew out of her room to see where he was going and saw that he was heading towards that room. As he opened the door she caught a glance of what was in the forbidden room. It seemed there was just a desk with the essential stationery such as quills and ink. On top of the desk was a thick journal to which Discord opened up and began to pick up the colorful quill. What he was writing, she didn't know, but it must be important since she wasn't allowed and it seemed he was putting all his attention.

Fluttershy noticed Discord's ears had perked up and she hid on the other side of the door as he turned around.

"It's too risky."She thought, flying away. "Maybe one day, I can find out what he's writing about."

Discord turned back to writing in his journal.

".... we can come back again."

Author's Notes:

What could Discord be writing in that journal? I don't know.
