Prologue - When She Comes [Revised - Edited]

Trixie was dwelling in her feelings. She ran into a forest, not Everfree Forest, but a forest that once stood in Ponyville environs. The tears on her face were mixing with the rain, making her cry even more and thinking about what had happened. The problem was that she didn't remember anything. She had woken up in the middle of nowhere with bruises on her face and without her cape and hat. She was sure she had lost her dignity, as usual. If she refused to accept the fact that she was not the best unicorn of all Equestria, she would continue to live in the shadow of an idiot.

That idiot is Twilight Sparkle. Chosen by Princess Celestia and graced by great power to be the bearer of the Element of Magic, Trixie did not like her. She never stopped thinking about her since the day of their first duel.

Obviously, this was not the best time to think of an enemy. Trixie knew, that in some way, shape, or form, Twilight could help her. Trixie was scared and too weak to go back to that hurtful town. She was so weak that she was already losing strength in her legs and her sight was blurred by the tears coming out of her eyes uncontrollably.

The mare decided to rest and forget all that had happened. Rather, remember and then forget. Try as she might, Trixie could not remember anything that happened. She remembers going to Baltimare and did a show there, which surely was a total fiasco. After that, her mind drew a blank.

Even if Trixie wanted to stay awake and try to remember, she could not due to too much fatigue. She then fell asleep under a tree in the forest, amidst the rain, which was becoming weak. Soon after, the mare plunged into a deep sleep; still beneath the tree, she tried to travel through her dreams and, possibly, remember something of what had occurred.

Nearby, Twilight Sparkle, the Element of Magic, had gone with her favorite sidekick, Spike, into the forest to pick some blackberries. Spike was eery of that forest, but it sure was better than the Everfree.

"Oh, there they are!” Twilight exclaimed when see the blackberries in a nearby bush. “Spike, pick the berries and place them in this basket.” Said when she made a basket magically appear in the claw of her assistant. Twilight smiled and sat on the ground, waiting for the dragon to finish his work.

While Spike hummed and worked, Twilight took the opportunity to take a brief walk in the woods. Departing from her assistant, Twilight walked along the grass and saw blood stains in the grass and mud. 'Now, what in Equestria happened here?', she thought. Trotting a little more, she realizes where and who it came from.

Trixie.

It was her enemy, but why she was on the ground with bruises. It seems like she fell asleep and then fainted. After all Twilight would help the boastful show-mare. Possibly, she could teach the magic of friendship to Trixie and show that the ponies could learn to accept her back in Ponyville.

"Spike!" Twilight called. Some seconds later, the dragon came running up with basket full of blackberries. “Help me with her,” Twilight commanded.

"Trixie?!"

“Yes, this is Trixie. Now help me! Go ahead to check that there is no danger ahead, I'll take her on my back.” Twilight said and  levitated the unconscious mare to her back. Spike, however, gave her a disapproving look and then swallowed his pride and took off ahead.

Twilight laid Trixie on her new couch and waited patiently for the mare to wake up from her sleep. Eventually, she got bored and read a book. Read this, read that, read up who she had read and fell asleep too.

The next morning…

The chirping of birds woke Twilight. And a surprise: Trixie was moving. She let out a soft moan and then yawned, opening her eyes ever so slowly. Opening her eyes, Trixie got a shock and, thanks to it, she fell off the couch. 'Who was that next to me?' She thought and then looked up at the couch. 'TWILIGHT SPARKLE!?' She thought and got up.  “Where is Trixie?” she asked Twilight in the third person, as usual.

“Finally! Your awake, now I can learn what happened," Twilight said.

“The problem is one that even Trixie doesn't know…” Trixie trailed off.

“What? But… You… Oh, Sweet Celestia!”, Twilight did not understand. 'How could Trixie not know what happened? She was there and she should have remembered! Unless, she has memory loss and cannot remember the night before last.' Twilight thought. Twilight only knew she should help her. “You are in my house, and please, do not use third person, at least to me.”

“Oh well, Tri… I mean, I really don’t remember anything. I think somepony hurt me or… I just don’t know, but I woke up in the forest when it was raining,” Trixie took a deep breath and continued, “You see, I don’t have my cape or hat and my bruises are putting me in a state of pain.”

“Ok, hmm… Let me see…”, Twilight thought of something that could help her. The best thing to do was to clean the scratches with soap and warm water; that's what she did. Soon after, she led to Trixie, who gave her a suspicious look and didn't seem to know what laid ahead.

“Are you going to clean me?” Trixie asked.

“Yes. For your bodily health.” Twilight assured.

“No, I refuse this.” Trixie fought back.

“Trixie…” Twilight argued.

“All right, but because you asked with way, Sparkle”, said Trixie when she sit on the sofa and held out her hoof, showing the first cut. When Twilight put the hot and sterile cloth on the wound, Trixie instantly pulled her hoof away. Due to that, she received a nasty grimace from her caregiver.

“Trixie, I need you to let me do this if you want to walk without a limp!” she scolded.

“But it hurts!” Trixie whined

“I know, hang on a moment if you don't want to deal with this pain any longer than you should.” Twilight tried to calm the mare.

“Fine…” Trixie admitted in defeat.

“After that I will ask you some questions,” said Twilight.

Trixie did not respond. She just kept complaining about the pain. Twilight knew there would be a long day ahead. Especially when Trixie kept complained, and the Element of Magic was half repentant for bringing Trixie there. But she had to think that soon enough it would be worthwhile, right?

Chapter One - Not so Powerful [Revised - Edited]

“Now Trixie, tell me what happened. If you even at the slightest know anything, tell me because I only want to help you”, Twilight said in front of Trixie, who complained of pain that the water caused in her wounds. Trixie grimaced and snorted while becoming annoyed with the insistence of her caregiver.

“Very well Sparkle, I'll tell you”, The Show-Mare sighed and continued “I was putting on a presentation show in Baltimare and it, most likely, was a total fiasco. Logically, those residents did not recognize any real magic”, Twilight snorted and rolled her eyes while the other mare continued, “Anyway, they probably stampeded me out of the city; more likely with tomato usage...” Trixie formed a beak on her face, then playing through more of her own history.

Twilight made a face of disapproval and sighed before starting. “That doesn't help much Trixie, I need more information in order to help you”.

“Alright, let's see where was I... Oh yes, I think I also went to some bar because my head hurt so much when I woke up. I probably met and slept with some stallion”, a small blush formed on her face. Again, Twilight rolled her eyes.

“That's why you're without your hat and cape”

“Yes. I also think that the angry ponies destroyed my wagon”, said the Show-Mare who had a sad face.

Twilight soon began to pace back and forth in front of Trixie, thinking that everything was starting to make sense now. “But what about your injuries?”.

“I must have gotten hurt in the forest; there were many thorns and those other types of things”, with that Trixie sat back on the couch while waiting for the thoughts of Twilight.

After some time, she answered “Well, I must believe you”, she turned her attention to the hoof that still hurt Trixie. She leaned on the couch “You have no place to go, am I correct?”, the Show-Mare nodded and Twilight sighed. “Well, even though I do not want this, I'll have to let you stay here for a few days, but just a few days”, Twilight did not want Trixie there any longer; because she had repaired herself, it would be difficult to live with that mare any how.

“What glorious news, looks like you noticed how Trixie truthfully is Great and Powerful and wants to help her! Very good Sparkle!”, the blue mare joked. “Trixie will sleep where?”

“I told to stop talking like that!”, said the stunted Twilight, “Now, come with me”. Trixie followed Twilight to the top floor.

“You will sleep right here in my bed”.

“I... I'll sleep with you?”, Trixie said and then thought for a moment “I like that”.

“No! You'll sleep here, and I'll sleep on the couch”, said Twilight with a look of disapproval and Trixie let out a soft sad moan.

“Oh… But Trixie would find so good...”, said the blue mare teasing Twilight with a mischievous tone. “But it is well, Thank you Twilight Sparkle.”

“Okay, I'll write a letter to Princess Celestia and you can rest here a while”, and Twilight trotted downstairs to the living room. Taking her quill with her magic and dipping it in ink on top of her desk in the room, she began to write:

Dear Princess Celestia,

Trixie Lulamoon, the pony that tried to stand up to the Ursa Minor and was humiliated for being a liar, is in my house. I am in need of your help to figure out if she was up in Baltimare doing a show. I know this is not a letter about friendship, but it's to help a friend (I think...).

Your faithful student,

Twilight Sparkle

“Spike!”

With the call, the little dragon came running from the kitchen. Picking up the parchment in his claw, he breathed out his green fire and sent the letter to Canterlot. In seconds, a new letter came from Spike's stomach. Soon the assistant began to read:

Twilight Sparkle,

I will send my guards to Baltimare to learn all they can about this show. I hope Trixie will be good.

With love,

Princess Celestia

“Okay, what time is it?”, Twilight asked and Spike was soon running to the kitchen to see the clock. Then he screamed:

“It's two o'clock in the afternoon!”

“I'm hungry... What about a carrot dog?”, Saying that Twilight went into the kitchen, with this, a crazy Trixie came galloping to them. “What the hay Trixie?!” Yelled Twilight.

“Give me!”

“Give you what?”

“Give Trixie the food! Trixie is hungry!”

“Only if you stop talking that way…”

Trixie soon fell silent and sat in front of Twilight, like a dog waiting for a treat. The mare in front of Trixie smiled and told Trixie to go to the kitchen. The Show-Mare obeyed and sat in the table chair to the left side of the table as she waited patiently for the meal. With the snack already in front of her, Trixie ate it in seconds. “Get me another, Sparkle!”

“We only had ingredients to make two of these”

Trixie sighed. Soon left the chair and went back to the bedroom on upstairs. Twilight rolled her eyes and left the chair; left the dishes for Spike, and went to the living room to read a book.

Later…

Twilight was still reading a book when Trixie came into the room. Trixie gave a slight groan and rubbed her eyes with her hooves and then said “Where is the idiot little dragon? I want some tacos.”

“Do you think he is your employee?”

“No, but he is yours, now send him to bring me tacos”

Twilight gave a disapproving look for Trixie and remained silent, not calling Spike. Trixie snorted and went to the kitchen, returning with tacos on a plate being levitated by her magic.

“Did you sleep?”, asked Twilight.

“No, I just laying down. I was thinking about things”, Trixie said and then yawned. It was ten o'clock at night and both mares were already sleepy. “I really need to sleep”, she said with her mouth full of tacos.

Trixie went to the bedroom upstairs and threw herself on the bed, trying to sleep. Twilight did the same thing, but I was very excited to read the final of the book "The Curse of the Tiger Pony”. ‘That could wait until the next day’, Twilight thought. Soon Trixie appeared on the stairs and then said:

“You awake?”

“Yes Trixie, I am”

“I cannot sleep; I close my eyes and see strange images of a stallion doing… Things with me…”

“And I want to read the end of my book. How about we read together?”, asked Twilight. Trixie nodded, despite not knowing anything about the story. Twilight then left her desk chair and sat on the couch to give some space for Trixie, who then sat next to the purple mare. Twilight began to read from where she paused at.

Later

Then Twilight read the final sentence:

[…]The green glow of precious snake eyes softly illuminated the cockpit and consoled me, while the music filled the void in my soul.

Ending with that, Twilight closed the book and sighed contentedly knowing that the Saga continues in another book. Trixie smiled and said “Good epilogue, very... Deep.”

Trixie leaned on the shoulder of Twilight, grinning like a little filly. Twilight turned her head slightly only to be observed by large, dark violet eyes. Twilight immediately looked away, sporting a small blush on the face. They remained that way until Twilight noticed that Trixie had fallen asleep, she levitated Trixie to the bed upstairs and left her there. “Good night, Trixie.” Twilight said as she closed the door.

Twilight descended to the living room and lay on the couch, traveling to the world of dreams.

The Next Morning

With the songs of the birds, Twilight woke. Strangely, she searched for Spike, but the dragon was not there. Twilight looked at the window that showed the Main street of Ponyville just to see the little dragon rushing straight home. Opening the door, Twilight let the dragon enter on the house. “What happened?”

“I... Wait a minute...”, the little dragon was breathing hard. After a few minutes of silence, he answered “Rarity... It... It's gone! I went to Boutique and she was not there. I went to Fluttershy to ask if she knew where Rarity had gone. But Flutter is gone too! And Rainbow, AJ and even Pinkie! All are missing!”.

The calm look in the face of Twilight faded and soon formed a worried look. 'What had happened?' Thought Twilight.

“What's that sound?”, Trixie, who had just woken up, came down in the stairs. “Why Sparkle is with that face?”.

“My friends… I do not know where they are, they are gone…”

Trixie rolled her eyes with the topic of friendship. But soon approached Twilight and gave light pats on the back with her hoof. “You know, maybe they were just on a trip...”.

“Trixie...”

The two mares were interrupted by the sound of Spike bringing a letter with his fire. “A letter!”, exclaimed Twilight.

“What does say?”, asked Trixie.

“This is not a letter from Princess and neither of my friends...”, said scared the Element of Magic. Then she began to read:

Dear Element of Magic,

Who is speaking is a chaotic guy who knows where your friends are. Just decide who it is! I have tips: I love chocolate, and cotton candy. Who am I?

With chaos,

Chaotic Guy

“Discord!”, Everyone in the room exclaimed and then a further letter was brought by Spike by his fire. Then again Twilight began to read:

Dear Twilight and Trixie,

Yes, I freed myself! After over a thousand years imprisoned in stone, I'm free! And nobody noticed! Speaking of which, do not tell Celestia if you want your friends alive. If you don't tell her… As promised, your friends are with me in Kishkindha. Where is this? Just know that is not on the map! They will have to discover themselves! Oh, bring Trixie, will be good for her. She can be a help, she has traveled Equestria often!

With chaos,

Discord

“What the hay!”, exclaimed nervously Trixie.

“If we do not go to them ... Discord can do whatever he want!”, Twilight exclaimed and then tore the letter with her magic. She sat down and started thinking with eyes closed. Opening her eyes again, Twilight saw that she had no choice. “We will rescue them!”.

“What?!”

“I will not!”, said Spike crossing his arms.

“Just Trixie and I shall go. You will be here to ensure that nothing happens in the city, can you do this?”

“I can!”, Spike puffed out his chest proudly.

“Forget it! Trixie will not leave this house! She did not want to face the city to begin with!”

“Trixie, please…”, said the weak Twilight. Trixie looked in the eyes of Twilight; they were shining, making the mare standing look like a filly.

“Okay…”

“Now, is better get ready. I think this will take a while, because i don’t know where is Kishkindha or something like this…”, the purple mare soon caught with her magic two bags and put one on her back and another on Trixie. Trixie looked at the bag for a minute; it was dark navy blue with a precious stone in the middle with dark green color. Twilight's had a dark purple color with a gemstone with a dark blue color in the middle of the bag.

Again with magic, Twilight put some pots with food and other necessary things for the long journey to come. "Okay, ready?"

“I'm ready for whatever, but it is better that we survive, or if not I swear that the Great and Powerful Trixie will resurrect you just to kill you again!”, Trixie threatened.

“Spike, protect me, she makes me so scared!”, mocked Twilight “Spare me Trixie”, after Twilight said that, she shook her tail. Then shaking again in Trixie's face and then trotted to the door and headed towards adventure.

This normally would not be the behavior of Twilight, but she was enjoying playing with Trixie. Trixie was extremely angry, but in a good way. She raised her eyebrow, looking at the flank of Twilight while she went to the door. Then she smiled and followed Twilight. “What were you looking at?”, asked Twilight.

“Nothing, just enjoying the view…”, Trixie said with a terrible poker face while Twilight snorted and rolled her eyes. “Ladies first”, Trixie joked as she opened the door with her magic.

“But… Forget it”, and Twilight stepped out, followed close behind by Trixie. It would be a long journey, they did not know exactly where Kishkindha was, but needed to go there to save the other elements. In the name of harmony in Equestria, Twilight and Trixie will save them.
