“We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.” - Winston Churchill

In any humans life he has to stop and think about his future. He needs to step out of the shadows and step into the light. He needs to forget the past and live in the now. For if you live in the past, you’re destined to miss the future. And, right now, I really needed to stop and think. I’m on a futuristic Battleship, while standing side by side with a captain from the 1990’s while living in a parallel Earth that's populated by brightly colored ponies. One whom I have fallen in love with. And still, as I stand here, it boggles my mind that, even any of this could be happening, let alone could happen. But I know, deep down in my heart, this was never meant to be. But, I won’t be the one to change fate.

Yeah, if this wasn’t real, people would say i’m insane. But it is, so you tell me, whos really insane.

Anyway, as I stand side by side with Charlie, me and him both stare out at the open waters, just watching the tides roll over each other. I look at Charlies face, he has this look of emptiness, no emotion was being shown, he was just watching the waves.

“Charlie,” I said, trying to wake him up. Which it did. He shook for a seconded and his eyes fluttered, then looked at me.

“Yeah John?” He asked as he turned to look at me.

“You still have your radio?” I asked. He places his hand behind himself and pulls out a green handheld radio.

“Yeah I got it, let me guess, you wanna get back to Manehatten.” I shook my head yes. He looks at the radio, then back to me, he smiles and shakes his head. He turns his head and looks into the sky, as if he was looking for an answer, then looking back to me, he shook his head again.

“Alright, here’s the deal, we’ll tow the Missouri back to shore and dock her along with our ships.” So far the plan was good. He continued,

“Then we’ll check the ship over for serious damage, in the mean time,” He held up the radio, “Sailors report, what is your status on removing the bodies?” The radio fell silent for a second.

“All most done cap, just one more sailor.” Charlie smiled,

“Okay good, don’t throw him away, we’ll need him to find out who shot up the crew.” Charlie said.

“Aye aye captain, we’ll keep him under a blanket for now, any other orders?” Charlie tapped his chin,

“Yes, report to the bridge when you’re finished with the body.”

“Aye aye.” He slid the radio away again. "Alright lets move up to the bridge to meet our crew." I nodded and turned and began to walk away, Charlie following me.

It took us a while to climb up to the bridge, the Missouri is a big ship, it’s also confusing as hell. I just started walking up and down staircases, crossing over decks of all shapes and sizes. But while I was walking, I couldn't help but feel the ultimate power that this ship was emitting. It’s huge guns pointing to the skies, years and years of battle experience, and to top it all off, it was nearly indestructible.

But still it was a very large and confusing ship.

Walking into the wheelhouse, we located mine and Charlies and sailors after nearly ten minutes of walking around, whom all of which were either, sitting, reading documents, or doing both, while others manned the control panels.

“All right men, we gonna head on home, I want half of you to head down to the boiler room and keep the engines in check, the rest of you are gonna stay up here with me and John here. You understand me?” The sailors weren't really paying attention, but as Charlie started talking, all of the marines snapped to attention.

Charlie looked at me and placed two fingers on his ear while he said,

“John, radio the Boston, and I’ll radio the Yarnell, tell them the plan.” Reaching for my radio, I pulled it out and gave him a nod as the selected sailors passed us and moved out of the wheelhouse and onto the bridge.

“Boston, this is Captain John, can you hear me?” The radio began crackling a bit before a voice came back on.

“We read you sir, we read you loud and clear here in the COM room, what are your orders?” I stepped out of the wheelhouse and onto the bridge deck just as the last sailor left my site, while I was talking into my radio, I could hear Charlie just on the other side of the wall, talking to his ship. He was almost yelling, bad reception or something.

“Alright listen up, here’s how this is gonna go down, you and the Yarnell are going to tow us back to Manehattan harbor. Upon arrival, were gonna perform an inspection for the Missouri, while that's happening, me and Charlie are taking the Body of one of the dead sailors we found with the others, to an examination area to try and figure out how he died. After that we will return to the Missouri to split up the crews into a hybrid group of my sailors, and Chaliries sailors, so that the Mighty Mo can have a fighting chance. Did you get all of that?” The radio fell silent for a few seconds, about four seconds. Then it came back with the same voice as before.

“Aye, I got everything written down here on this notepad.” I smiled.

“Okay, good, see you soon.” I slid the radio back into my pocket again, and walked back into the wheelhouse just as Charlie turned off his radio. I returned to the control panels in front of the windows that overlooked the bow of the Mighty Mo. Charlie came up next to me and joined.

“Alright, lets get this party started, and get this ship home!” I said out loud. Charlies Sailors smiled and looked at each other as they yelled.

“Oorah!” I flinched out there outburst, it caught me off guard.

“W-what?” I said as a hand hit my shoulder.

“It means, 'Lets go'. It’s what we say in the future.” I turned around and see Charlie, with a smug look on his face. “Don’t worry old timer, you’ll get used to it.” I gave him a smug look too as I turn completely around and crossed my arms.

“Don’t worry youngster, I like it.” We laughed. But our laughter was cut short by the radio in my pocket.

“Captain, it’s the Princess can you hear me, I’m not really sure how to work this, radio.” It was Celestia, I looked at my pocket, pulled out the radio and clicked it on.

“Yes princess I hear you loud and clear, is everything alright?” I asked as Charlie went over to another section of the control panel where the majority of the marines were.

“Yes, everything is fine over on this side, have you secured the ship?”

“Yes your majesty, we have secured the ship and are ready to move, but, there is one thing.”

“What is it?” I was a little worried to tell her what we found. And the others knew, for when I looked to my right, they all turned to me slowly, with these looks ranging from,'Oh shit,' too 'Great, here we go,' . The tension in the room slowly turned from happy, the dark, very quickly.

“We found bodies, a large pile of human corpses on the decks of the ship, if you didn’t already know, we were wondering if we could rope of an an area back in Manehatten harbor so that we can perhaps look at one of the bodies closer.” The radio went dead silent, and so did everything else. The previously happy sailors looked back to their work and said nothing as I looked out the window, with a face of a emotional defeat.

“Who do the bodies belong to?” Celestia came again.

“It’s the remainder of the crew that used to belong to the Missouri.”

“I see, I will try and find an area where we can view the body in person, for right now, we need to get the Missouri back to shore.” By the time she was done talking I was outside the wheelhouse and was looking over to the other ships. I could see that the ponies and the sailors were gathered on the front deck, along with Fluttershy.

“Roger that Celestia, see you soon, and thank you.” I turned off the radio and slid it away. After slipping it away, I rose my right hand and waved to the yellow pegasus on the other ship. And she waved back.

And suddenly, my mood was lifted. Maybe it was the fact that, I just realized I was in command of this worlds more powerful ship, or it could be the fact that, through all of this, I still had Fluttershy by my side. A weak, yet powerful smiles breached the depression.

Chapter #2

I never knew how hard towing a Battleship was until I actually did it. Well I didn’t really do it, but I told them how to do it, and boy was it hard. I Mean we were there for a good hour or two just going back and forth trying to connect the Missouri and the Boston with chains. I was going to lose my mind if it didn’t do it after the third time we tried.

The Boston was a few feet away from the Missouri’s bow, and the waves were a bit dodgy. She was backing up, extra slowly, chains ready to go. I was waiting with my sailors at the tip of the ship. I could tell things were getting tense when I could literally hear the swishing of the propellers under the water from the Boston.

My sailors on the Boston were waiting for me to grab the chains, but they were too far away, so I told them to come a bit closer, then a little more, then some more.

Eventually she shouldn’t get any closer, and we had to throw it across. The first time through, we missed, by like a mile. Second time again, we missed, but it got closer. Third time however, we caught it and we linked ourselves up not trying to waste any more time. In the mean time of the ships being linked, the Elements, along with the princesses crossed over to the Missouri.

1800 hours…

Open waters…

USS Missouri…

After the chains were linked, the marines and sailors that were currently on the Missouri, went back to their stations that we had given before the start of the linking process. You know, engine monitoring, bridge control, yadda yadda. As for me and Charlie, we stayed on the front deck with the ponies that finally boarded from the Boston. I could tell that they were surprised at the sheer size of the ship.

“Wow, this ship is much larger in person, I have to say, good thing we found it when we did.” Said the princess as she walked by me and Charlie to gaze at the Massive 16 inch guns. “ Indeed it tis sister and when you are ready captain, we should head back to Manehatten.” Luna said following her sister close behind. I smiled and began following them.

“You’re right, we are ready whenever the boston is.” I grabbed my radio and clicked it on.

“Boston, it’s the captain, are you ready to move?” Charlie began following me as well as the Elements.

“Aye captain, we’re ready to go.” As he said that, a swift blow of the bostons horn indicated his point.

“Good, Charlie, is the Yarnell ready?” I turned around and asked, while still walking forward.

“Hold on, let me see, Yarnell, this is captain, are you ready for an escort?” It went silent for a second or two. Until a horn sounded of in the distance.

“Aye aye captain ready to move.” The radio came back.

“Copy that,” He put his radio away, “we are ready.”

“Good,” I reached for my radio, “Boston, lets get moving.”

“Aye aye!”

1830…

It took us a while for all of us to reach the bridge, but when we did, the Missouri was already moving at 10 knots. My little ship, pulling a huge one like the Missouri, kinda makes you think. Anyway, the marines and sailors began going through the checklist, and making everything was okay, engines, weapons, mechanics, electronics, so on and so forth.

But, sooner than later, we were traveling at 30 knots, going on 35. I pulled up a chair and sat down as I watched the Boston leading the way, the Yarnell not too far off.

“So, Captain,” came a voice. I turned around to see the princess, “when we reach Manehatten harbor, I want that body you have off loaded onto shore and taken to a warehouse in the shipyard, you’ll know it when you see it.” I nodded. As I looked at the princesses face, I could tell that, dealing with things such as, dead bodies, and detective work, was not her kind of thing. So, I thought an apology was in order.

“Princess, I’m sorry.” Saying that she looked at me with a surprised look.

“Why are you sorry, you have done nothing wrong.” At this point, I had to stand up, to make my point clear.

“For making you do this, you didn’t need to do any of this, you could have said no, but you didn’t. I can tell, this isn’t your kind of field.” Now Luna stepped forward, from what I could tell no where.

“Captain, thou still has nothing to be apologizing for. We are just as qurious as you are about this, problem. For as of right now, somewhere in our kingdom, a murderer is loose and about, causing havoc wherever he may go, and it’s our job as rulers, to find out who.” Now the elements came closer, Fluttershy, came the closest out of them all.

“My sister is right, if we won’t stop them, then nobody will. And who knows when they’ll strike next. It’s only a matter of time.” I nodded and stuck out my right arm.

“Then you have my word princess, I won’t rest until these, well, whoever they are, are brought to justice, and I won’t let anything get in my way until they're either behind bars, or six feet under.” She looked at my hand, then at me, with a confused look on her face, I was about to pull it down, until Luna stepped in and shook instead.

“Sis, it’s called a, ‘Hand Shake’ it’s how they agree on things, remember” The princess mouthed ‘ohhh, okay’ then smiled in embarrassment. And I smiled too.

“Anyway, we should reach the Harbor within next two hours or so, like around seven o'clock.” Came a sailor behind me. I turned around and gave him a two fingered salute.

“Thanks for the heads up.” I turn around to face the princess again, but she was looking out the windows at the Boston, and Luna was over with the Elements. Charlie was off doing, something or whatever. And I was just awkwardly standing around doing nothing. So I sat down again, watching the tides roll off the bow of the ship.

Then I got a case of Deja Vu. I remembered doing this before we we’re sucked up into this world, before the portal, before the fog. It was truly creepy, so I changed the way I was sitting so I didn’t remember Earth. I looked off toward the Elements again, just to see Luna walk out of the bridge and loom over the railing out side the wheelhouse.

Then I felt something brush my hand, it was brief, but, whatever it was, it felt familiar. I look down to see a yellow pegasus with a pink mane nudging my hand with her nose. The hand that was still wrapped up in gauze from when I cut it up at the rocks. Her blue eyes looking up at me, they sparkled in the light of the sun. A small but obvious smiled was worn on her face.

“Oh hello Fluttershy, everything alright?” I asked her as she pulled away from my hand.

“Oh I’m fine, thanks for asking, are you fine?” I smiled as chuckled a bit.

“Of course I’m fine, I just captured on of the greatest ships of all time!”

“Yeah, b-but what about the, you know…” She nodded her head to the left. At first I didn’t get the hint, then after a second or two I got what she was going for. She was referring to the body we had to investigate.

“Well, yeah there is that… But, you shouldn’t be worried about stuff like that, that’s my job. So please, don’t worry about it too much.” She shook her head slowly.

“Alright. I’ll try.” I ran my hand through her mane, and lightly tapped her on the head while saying,

“Thanks, that's half of the problem solved right there.”

Chapter #3

2030 hours… (8:30pm)

“Sir, Manehatten bay in sight!” I turn to look at the sailor who was standing beside me. I smile as I stand up to come eye level with the windows.

“Alright, get the engine room on the phone, now.” I say, to really anyone in the wheelhouse.

“Aye aye captain.” someone calls, “Here.” I look down to see a hand holding a phone, I pick it up and hold it up to my ears.

“Engine room this is the bridge get ready to fire up the engines, were going by ourselves from this point on. Get ready on my go.”

“Aye aye captain.” I put down the phone and reach into my pocket for the radio that I had. Finding it, I pull it out and quickly push the talk button.

“Boston, this is Missouri, we are going to release the chains and go solo for the rest of the trip. As soon as I tell you to, you are to pull away from this ship as fast as you can go, understand me?” The radio was quick to answer.

“Uh sir, why are we letting the Missouri run now?” I rolled my eyes and clicked the button again.

“Because I want to see how she handles.”

“Aye aye, ready when you are.” I place the radio down too, right next to the phone that was linked to the engine room.

“Lets do this.” I turn on my heel and leave the wheelhouse with a swift motion and begin my descent, passing the Elements and the princesses too. They said nothing as I ventured on. I began pointing at random sailors or marines to come and help me, eventually gathering enough men to get the job done.

I reach the bow and locate the chains, still being pulled by the Boston. I look around at the sailors standing around me and they look at me. Then I turn around to face them properly.

“Okay listen up, I wanna see how she handles, so, were gonna disconnect from the boston and get to the shore our way get these chains unhooked and get to your stations after you're done, you understand me?” They look at each other and nod.

“Aye aye sir.” They run into place as I run back up to the bridge, anticipation was killing me. I felt like a child on christmas morning and he was about to play with his new toys. But the only difference being, I was a man, and this wasn’t a toy, it’s a battleship.

A beautiful battleship.

Reaching the bridge, I was confronted by the princess. With a confused look on her face. As so was everypony else.

“Captain, what are you doing?” Asked the princess. I walked passed her while saying,

“I want to see how this ship handles, so I’m going my own way, you better grab something!” I yell back as I enter the wheelhouse. I grab the phone resting on the dashboard. Just as the cables came loose. I watched the men release the cables as I saw a huge splash come from the chains hitting the waves.

“Engineroom! Floor it!” I yelled into the phone.

“Aye aye!” I hang up the phone and turn to the sailors on the bridge.

“Get us to Manehatten Harbor, you got me?” I ask.

The men manning the controls all they at a single time,

“Aye aye Captain!” I turn on my heal and exit the wheelhouse and re join the ponies on the balcony.

I feel nothing at first, everything seems to become quiet as the boston quickly moves out of the way by making a sharp right turn. I could feel the Missouri slowing down by the second. I don’t know why I did this but I turned around just at the right time and I stare up the huge mast of the Missouri and back to the smokestack as a huge cloud of thick black smoke pours out it’s top. I flos straight up into the sky as the I could feel the height of the fire room as if I was there in person.

I turn around as the ground below moves right under my feet as the ship jolts forward, making headway towards the border of the bay. I looked over the group and they too felt the movement and did grab something. Well at least they tried, you know, no hands.

We pulled in closer to the border, I could see the invisible line growing nearer and nearer. I look at the all the ponies nearest to me. They since relaxed from the ship starting up, and have began grow comfortable with the movement.

“So Princess, what do you think, she handles pretty good, right?” Celestia looked at me and I looked at her. She smiled and said,

“I haven’t been on many ships in my time, but the Missouri does feel rather nice. But I can’t be one to judge something I know nothing about.” I shook my head and returned to looking at the closing shore. I turn my head and look into the inner bridge.

“Hey, we crossed the border, let them know we have arrived.” I yell into the wheelhouse. I see a sailor look over to me, and salute. “Aye aye Captain.” I turn back around and look to the shore again.

“Hey, Rainbow Dash.” I call as I turn around to locate the Pegasus. I see her behind the group, but when I mention her name she hovers above everyone else.

“Yeah, what’s up?” she said flying a bit closer.” I smile as I chuckle.

“Cover your ears again.” Just as I say that, a low stomach rumbling tum comes from the Missouri. It’s low pitch tone shakes me to the bone and rattles my brain. I kept my eye on the blue pegasus as I watched her nearly fall out of the sky and crash to the ground. everypony else just listened as the tone droned on more five more seconds before dying. The sound echoed for a bit as it rolled over the hills of the Equestrian shore. I turn around and look to the Manehatten Harbor.

“So, Princess, where can I store the Missouri for the time being?” I ask. I look over to the princess for a moment just to see her holding her hoofs up to her ears. I taped her on the shoulder. She had her eyes closed, but then she opened them and looked at me. A blush appearing on her face.

“Sorry, what did you ask? I couldn’t hear you.” I smiled and looked back to the shore.

“I asked where can I park the Missouri?” I pointed to the empty lots on the shore. She placed a hoof on her chin and rubbed it for a moment as the Missouri grew closer and closer to the harbor. The rest of the ponies that were trying to recoup from the Missouri were beginning to rejoin us at the railing, but they were still a little deaf. The Princess removed her hoof from her chin and pointed to shore.

“There, do you see that space between those two warehouses, the one that says A1, and B1?” I look out over the railing at to the growing coastline. I look harder and squint harder until I saw it. A rather large bit of space between two warehouses was empty and had enough room for the Missouri, but only the Missouri. The two other ships would have to sail a little more before they can reach their spot in the port.

“Okay, I see it, thank you.” I leave the railing and enter the wheelhouse and go to the man at the controls. I tap him on the shoulder. He twists his head up and looks at me as I point out to the shore.

“See that open space in the docks?” I ask “Between those warehouses?” I looks closer and upon spotting the area he looked back to me.

“Yes, is that our parking spot?” He asks.

“Yep, now get us there.” he salutes and begins to order the ship to move in. I turn and leave the bridge and rejoin everypony again.

Then I remember something, again. Something dark and mood crippling, but the sooner it gets done, the better. I put on the most serious face I could muster up and walk towards the princess. She looks at me and leave the balcony and walks over to me.

“Which warehouse should we use for the, inspection, so to speak.”

“Warehouse A4, it’s the furthest away from the city, so no one will raise many questions. My men are already waiting for you when you get there. Just take the body and move it there.” I shake my head as I look over her head and look at the shore closing in.

“Okay, I’ll get him ready.” I turn completely around and head toward the stairs. I begin climbing down to the deck while I pull people away from their workplace and have them follow me. I pull out my radio and flick it on.

“Cadaver team, this is the captain. Where are you located over?” I hit the top deck and continued to walk forward, just so I could hear from the team.

“Sir we are located on the port side of the main deck, he have the body and are ready to move.” I stopped walking and turned around so I could head the other way. My men followed in suit.

“Alright copy that. I’m on my way, get ready.” I marched all the way to the other side of the ship and begin walking again, to the stern.

I Kept on walking until I saw the team. The men behind me, began syncing up to my step as all of our steps became one.

“We need to hurry, we are all most at shore, we need to get this man off the ship and on land as fast as we can. No dilly dallying, you got me?” I said out loud to the group that tailed me.

“Aye aye Captain.” The man came, just as I saw the group appear in sight. There was maybe 12 men surrounding the corpse, weapons drawn. Some of them were my Marines, a few were Charlies Marines. But, upon seeing me they spread out from the body and cleared out of my way. They all saluted as I passed.

In the middle of the two rows of Marines was a long stretcher with a huge bulge covered by a white blanket. I look at the men surrounding me. Then back to the body. I raised my hand and was about to speak, just a voice above me called out,

“Captain, we’re two minutes out.” I turn around to see a sailor leaning on one of the balconies. I nodded and he took off. I turn back around to the waiting crew.

“Alright, here’s how it’s gonna go down. You four there, grab the body, you're gonna carry it off shore. And the rest of you are going to cover us so we can get the body to the warehouse. Got it?” The man all looked at me and saluted.

“Okay then, lets get rolling.” I watched as the men took hold of the body and lift it up as the others crowded around it. I walked in front of them and waved my hand for them to follow.

Just as the ship pulled into the port.

Author's Notes:

Alright, an update, sorry about the wait...

Chapter #4

2100 hours… (9:00pm)

As we approached closer to the left side of the front deck, I could hear the cheering and yelling of the crowds off shore. The stretcher carrying the cadaver seemed to gain more weight as the sight of the gangway came into my view. My emotions were toying with me again. The lights of the setting sun and the lights off shore from the docks gave me a sense of anxiety. Everyone on shore would lookin at us. And the feeling only worsened as we got closer to the side of the ship.

I watched as we got closer and closer more and more of the pier coming into view flashes of lights from cameras went off as got closer to the edge. The Marines from earlier took their stance in front of us, weapons drawn as they began filing down of the ship and onto the gangway. We followed in suit.

It was a little awkward walking down the small space of the gangway, but, we went down slowly and carefully, and tried not to move, alter, and touch the body at all. The crowds got a little bit quieter as we approached the ground. The ponies were kept back about twelve feet in front of us by royal guards that were wielding shields to keep the crowds from charging us. For just shields, they were doing a pretty good job. The first marine hit the deck, and began to form a wall in front of us, then the second one joined him next to his shoulder, then the next one, and so one and so forth.Until all four marines made a wall with their bodies, just as I stepped off the gangway.

The concrete ground of the docks felt so good under my feet, the feeling of absolute security, and stillness.I re gripped my hand around the wooden pole that held up the dead man wrapped in cloth.

“Alright boys, let's move!” My voice was drowned out as I tried yelling over the sound of the cheering crowd. Luckily the closest marine to me, looked my direction and nodded his head. Turning back to face the crowd, he looked to the others, and through his right arm up in a 90 degree angle and pointed at me, followed by his hand pointing to the left. Toward the warehouses. As me and the other holders began to moved, so did the small wall of Marines. We moved quickly and carefully down the docks as the Marines provided us with protecting from the public eye.

2115… (9:15pm)

Finding wearhouse A4 wasn’t a problem at all, for all the buildings in the area had their name spray painted in bright yellow paint on the side of them, along with lights underneath so they could be seen when the sun finally went down.

We entered the building, still trying to keep the stretcher stable. The inside of the Warehouse was very well lit for being a huge room. The center of the building was the most lit, giant lamps shone brightly onto a table that was covered with a white tarp. Near it was two ponies wearing lab coats. We walked up to them with the stretcher in hand. The motioned for us to put the body onto the table. I nodded and the other Marines agreed. We turned so that our bodies were parallel to the table. Then at once, we hoisted the stretcher onto the table with quick motion. After the body hit the table top, A huge wave of relief washed of me and the others. I smiled as I took a step away from the table to recollect my wits. The Marines joined me.

After a little while, I stood up and dusted myself down, straightened my uniform and turned my attention the the Marines. All of them were resting for a second, but as I turned myself to them they stood up at attention.

“Listen up, I want all four of you, to patrol the border of this wearhouse, don’t let anyone, or anypony near us. Beside royalty, or someone with importance. You understand?” All of them saluted and left the room at once. I heard the doors open and close as I was soon alone with the scientists. Now I turn to look at them. All of them are already looking at me.

They couldn’t have been more than 60 years old. It showed in their face, or thats what it looked like. I moved over to them with hands at my side, still trying to keep my uniform still.

“Good evening gentleman. I’m sure I don’t need to explain who I am, but I’ll do it anyway. MY name is Captain John Carson, I am the Captain of the USS Boston. And this poor man,” I say pointing to the table, “is our problem.” I walk over the the first pony. He has a dark brown mane, light brown coat, and blue eyes, he's wearing a white lab coat, and blue jeans that match his eyes. Along with the jeans, were a pair of brown shoes.

“Hello there, my name is Wilhelm Klitzing, pleasure to meet you.” I stuck out my hand a he lifted his hoof, and we both shook. “And this is my partner, Agnes Hartree.” I turn the other pony.
She has a Yellow and Orange mane, red piercing eyes, her coat is also red. she almost the exact color of dynamite, her tail matches her mane. She wore the same coat Wilhelm wore, but unlike him, he wasn’t wearing jeans. As a matter a fact, she wasn’t wearing pants at all. I leaned down and gave her a hoof shake as well. While I was leaning in I took a look at her flank, just out of curiosity. She had a atomic symbol placed on her hind leg for her cutie mark. I felt her eyes looking at me, so I stopped staring out of embarrassment as I closed my eyes and smiled her direction.
“Agnes is our weapons specialist. Me myself, I’m more of a historian.”
“Thank you for find us Captain, we should begin to look over the body as soon as possible. For, I don’t believe time is our friend.” I open my eyes and look at her directly. Again her red eyes staring at me. To be quite honest, she was fairly pretty, but I didn’t notice it that much. I was more worried about the body. Besides, not my type.
“Thank you both for volunteering for this gruesome job, It’s not every day, you have to lean over a dead body and try and figure out, how he or she died.” They both smiled. Agnes nodded a bit.

“It’s quite okay, I don’t mind it much myself. Being a weapons scientist myself, I’m surrounded by death every day, and this isn’t much different. Even though it is a very delicate subject.” She said turning away. She began walking toward the body, along with Wilhelm.

9/16/97...

Manehatten Harbor...

0500… (5:00am)
We have been up all night trying to find out things about this, body. All we knew about it was that, the holes on the chest were actually from gunshot wounds, not magic. This raised the stakes high for me, and everyone else, that is of course until I took a look at the bullet. It actually wasn’t from any gun of my century. It was infact a musket ball, from a unknown origin. Now we were stumped. We have been here for hours looking through countless books, documents, scrolls, and loose papers that have been discovered from local libraries in the Manehatten area. We even went up to canterlot to look for clues. But still we turned up empty.
I’m staring at the body, while I sit in a wooden chair. His flesh is snow white and lifeless, his eyes are no longer froze open, but are shut, and at peace. I couldn't help but feel sorry this man. His death, and the others who fell beside him, didn’t half to happen, they weren’t meant to die like this. Not on this world, not in this timeline. they had families, friends, lives beyond. And now, they were killed unfairly. They died without being able to see there wonderful blue Earth. And their deaths will not go unanswered.

As the night before went by, the elements stayed on the Missouri and slept. Charlie Split up the crews like he said he would a long time ago, and Princess Celestia joined us in the warehouse. Now it’s just really quiet. Not sure whats going to happen next.
“Hey! I found something! I one of these old books!” I heard somebody yell I look up to see Wilhelm waving his hoof in the air, motioning us to come and look at him.

I stood up out of my chair faster than I should have and almost fell over backwards, if my fall wasn’t broken by someone catching me. It didn’t feel like fluttershy this time. I appeared to be floating in mid air, a light yellow arora surrounded me. I turn my head to see the Princess hold my up with her magic. With a sly look on her face
I blushed a bit, “Heh heh, sorry.”
“It seems you always fallover in the time of urgency Mr. Carson. You should try hard to keep your balance.” She let me go after standing me up. I hit the floor and rubbed my neck.
“Yeah, I do don’t I. Anyway, what did you find!” I yell as I run over to the science pony, with the princess following close behind. I lean over the pony who was in a chair pushed in closely to a wooden desk. Agnus was leaning on the other side. The book Wilhelm was reading look very old, it’s pages were yellow, and the ink that was used was worn down. The cover and binding of the book was brown and gold. Of course thats all I saw, I can’t read their text.
“Well, what does it say?” Asked a eager princess next to me. Wilhelm pushed the book over to Agnes and he looked at us directly. He placed his hoofs together and closed his eyes.
“Princess, you might not believe this but, the bullet that was found inside the Humans chest was not of this country, it’s from, somepony else. Or rather, something. I think you know where this is going princess.” I looked to the princess, her eyes began glistening as I could feel something coming off of her. Her lips began to tremble as the book was passed to her. She looked down at the book for a second and closed her eyes as a single tear fell from her eye lid. I watched it as it fell down. It hit the page of the book, and as I now look at the page the tear landed on. a picture was dawn onto it.

A picture of some sort of animal. I couldn’t tell what it was.
“Princess, who is it?” I asked quickly. She looked at me. Her eyes had small vein in the back that had turned red her pupil had a haze of red around it too. As if the sadness had turned right into anger.
“It was the Griffons!” She yelled as her voice echoed through the entire wearhouse. “They have returned!” She said soon before disappearing into thin air. I looked back at the book.
“This isn’t good.” I say to myself as both the other ponies in the room look at the picture too.

Chapter #4.5 ("Oops goes the dynamite!")

7/30/14…

Calex Winteridge…

1:22am…

As Calex begins to write his next great chapter in his story for his loyal fans, something appears in his head… A question. He spins around in his office chair with haste and gets traction on his hardwood floor and sprints to his doorway. A room across from him held the answer.

“John!” He yells out into the silent house. Calex hears the sound of a office chair roll across the floor and soon the man named john appears before him in his own doorway.

John Haverty, ex US Soldier for the army and ex US sailor, served for 20 years in the service. If anyone knew the answer it would be him.

“Whats up?” He says as he look through his glasses into Calexs eyes.

“Um, just for no reason, your ship, the USS Harry E. Yarnell, uh, you guys didn’t have marines on board, did you?” Without haste join threw back his answer.

“Nope…” Suddenly Calexs mind nearly shut down as his pupil shrunk to half their size.

“Wait, you’re not kidding, are you?” John shakes his head.

“Nope.”

“Oh, okay then, thank you…” Calex turns around and looks back to the computer on the other end of his room. He walks back and sit in his chair and looks back at the screen.

“Well shit… I think I fucked up.”

Author's Notes:

Yeah guys this chapter was just to say, I fucked up, not just in this story, but both of them. So, hopefully you get the point and look back at all the previous chapters and replace the word, "Marines" with "Sailors." Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

(The previous chapter was based on real life events.)

Chapter #5

9/16/97…

Manehatten Harbor…

0510 hours… (5:10am)

I continue to stare at the page with the griffin printed on it. This was the thing that attacked the Missouri, this thing killed the engine crew and the captain, this thing, was now my enemy. I grabbed the cover of the book and slammed it shut and closed my eyes trying to push out images of a conflict that was soon to come, flames, explosions, gunfire, and war cries flooded my ears as an image tried to show up. I opened my lids again just as the princess appeared back into the room, via teleport.
She held a book with her horn. I took a look at the hardcover.

“550 BCR” was on the title. I walked over closer to get a look at the book.

“What is this?” I asked pointing to the brown covered book. She looked at me; her pupils were smaller than before, along with being slightly blood shot. As if she had been crying.

“This is a history book, containing all of the events that have happened before the Time of Disharmony.” I go to reach for the book, until it begins to glow an even brighter yellow than celestias horn aurora.

The wind began to pick up as the pages of the book opened, the book shown brighter than I have ever seen anything glow, soon it had shown pure white. The wind grew stronger; I fell to onto my back as the book loomed over me. The room around me seemed to fade away as everything turned black, except for the wind and the book.

“Celestia! What the hell is going on!” I yell, yet get nothing in return. I see her face slowly appear over the light book, her wings fully erect; her front hooves, under the book, yet she wasn’t holding it anymore with her horn. It seemed to be floating by itself.

I couldn’t see her pupils anymore. They glowed pure white, looking at me, looking inside me.
“I’m showing you the past, in the greatest detail I can find. Hold still, this will not harm you.” I heard over the constant assault of the wind passing my ears, as if her voice echoed around me. The book began to tilt towards me, I tried to move, but I couldn’t I was frozen. I was terrified; I wasn’t sure what she meant by greatest detail.
The next thing I knew, everything went black.
I couldn’t see anything, I could feel anything, everything was too dark to see, and I seemed to be floating in mid air.

“H-hello? Anyone their?” I said into the darkness. My eyes darted left and right trying to find something. I quickly looked over my left shoulder, then my right one. Still nothing.

“John…” I heard a voice. It was Celestia. I continue to look around, franticly I shout out into the darkness.

“Yes! Yes I’m here, I can hear you!” I said waving my hands back and forth.

“Good, I wasn’t really sure what was going to happen when I activate the spell.”

“Uh-huh, right, anyway, where the heck am I.” I asked into the nothingness.

“Well technically, you are nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Right now every bit of your body is spread out amongst the nature of Equestrian history.” I repeated what I heard in my head a couple times then came back with an answer.

“So, what you’re saying is, I’m inside that book you had.”

“Exactly.” She said, a little step in her voice. I look around again in disapproval.

“Huh, then that book really sucked.” I say into the black.

“W-what do you mean?” I heard her say again as I cross my arms.

“Well, everything is black! Nothing is here! Which in this case, means the book, was a blank canvas…”

“Give it a moment.” I head the princess come back in a much calmer tone.

Suddenly I felt a ground under me. I feel five feet and hit the floor of the void. Picking myself up, I now start to look around again. Still nothing. Though something feels a little off. I look down, still not seeing anything. But from where the ground was, compared to where my head was, something seemed off. Then it struck me, I was shorter or smaller, wasn’t sure.

“Princess! I feel different! What did you do?” Suddenly for no reason a light appeared above me. I look up, and spot a hanging lamp. It rocks slowly back and forth.

“Ah there you are!” I hear the princess say. This time, she seems to be right in front of me. I turn to my right and sure enough, there she is. Her eyes no longer glowed pure white. But, my suspicions where correct, she was much taller than me. "Huh, I like the new look their captain."

"What do you mean?" I say a little annoyed.

"Take a look, but before I show you, I will remind you that, this is only temporary." She says before a mirror appears in front of me.

"Oh." I said with a speechless voice. I walk closer to the mirror and touch it, yep, it's real.
I look down and see my hand or hoof in this case. The new look of different colors the height difference, even walking in a strait line was different. I put a hoof up to my muzzle, gliding it across the hairs of what felt like a very prickly beard.

"Jeez, my mane is a mess along with my tail, even my fur feels dirty. God, I need a shower." The mirror disappears and the princess steps forward chuckling a bit under her breath.

"Well, like I said, this pony transformation is only temporary, once we leave this world, you'll have your own body back. Then you can take all the showers you want." I smile and sigh in relief.

"Oh thank god, I though I was going to remain like this, anyway, why am I pony anyway?"

"I said you're going to get the most detailed explanation possible, right?" She said as she closed in on me. I look around in what visible light there was to offer looking for an answer.

"Yeah, so in doing that you had to change me into a pony to, let me experience it from your subjects point of view?" I said back to her turning back to look at her head on, our muzzles inches from each other. I looked into her eyes, her lids closed a bit, a small smile on her face which quickly turning into a grin.

"Not from my subjects view, but from my view." Soon she lifted her head back up to it's normal height and her horn began glowing again.

"Oh god, now what is she doing?" I asked myself as I watched her do her magic. Soon I began to feel the magic radiating off of her and soon engulfing me in her heavenly yellow glow. The light above me began to brighten in light as soon the whole room was white.

"Our journey begins back before my time, a time that I wasn't given a good name. The disharmony period." I heard Celestia say as picture came back. As the light faded away, I look around the new area. I seemed to be in some sort of castle. I was at the end of a long middle room, with giant pillars on either side of me, mainly made out of marble, stone, and other brightly colored rocks. The pillars were bridged together with a arch at the top. Behind both sets of pillars on ether side of me, seemed to be a arrangement of stained glass windows that also had the same structure as the pillars with a arch at the top. Every time there was a window a wooden door was next to it, then another window. This pattern went on for a while, as I followed it down the hall, until it hit a white wall. I followed the wall on the left side of the room, till I was a stair case that lead up to two chairs, both empty.
I looked below me to find a wool red carpet that's boarded with gold lines running up the main strip pf the hall. It felt comfy under my hoofs. I look up to the ceiling to spot it all the way in the air, about 50 feet above me, which also came to a arch bridging both sides of the rooms walls together. In the center of the room, held a crystal lined lamp that hung. Showing all of the colors of the rainbow.

"My god, this place is beautiful!" I said out loud.

"Why thank you." Came a familiar voice behind me. I quickly turn around to spot the princess again. But this time she seamed different.

"Wait, Celestia, something is different again, what is it. I'm looking at you eyes to eye." I said as I trotted over to her.

"Well, I said, from my view, didn't I?" She said putting on a half grin and raising one eyebrow. Then again. That same mirror from before came up again. This time, I wasn't amused like before.

"So, you made me Alicorn sized then... fine! Fine fine fine fine... lets just get this history lesson over with so I can get my body back. Please?" She laughed a bit after banishing the mirror again.

"If you wish."

Chapter #6

9/16/97…
Manehatten Harbor…
0510 hours… (5:10am)

"Our Story begins here in the old Castle of Equestria back in 660 BCR, a time that I nor Luna were around in. Instead, the land was ruled over by my father, Celestius Von Indiges." I look over at the Princess with wide eyes.

“You have a last name?” I asked. A smile appeared on her face as she looked towards me again.

“Yes, my full name is Celestia Von Indiges.” I shook my head slowly. “Interesting is it?” She said raising a brow. I look at her and shake my head.

“No, it’s just, I never knew you had a last name.” Turning back. She begins to walk forward.

“Anyway, today is July 21st, 560 BCR, and my father had received a letter from another kingdom.” As Celestia said this, the throne in front of became surrounded by clouds of smoke as lights formed behind them. I heard a huge amount of wind, as I stood forward myself to stand next to the pearly white princess as the wind kicked up as the smoke cleared away and the light flashed my eyes. As the light left my eyes a second later the room seemed a lot more, realistic, the colors shown brighter, the comfy carpet below my hoofs felt even more real. The windows light shown in brighter as shadows were cast along the opposite walls.

I continue to look around, before I get a hoof tap on my shoulder, I turn away from the amazing castle interior to see Celestia putting a hoof to her lips as the motioned her eyes to the throne. I look over and spot someone sitting on it. A massive stallion with a mane that
would put a setting sun to shame. He wore a golden suit of armor that glistened of the light.

Then he spoke.

“Ah, good to see you two, how has life been?” His voice boomed across the whole room, and echoed across the halls. I turn around to see two soldiers in full golden armor, just like Celestia’s, but instead of the blue, the borders were red.Celestia and I step out of the way and watch as the two walk up to the stallion on the throne, stop, and bow down to him.

“Those are the two Brigadier Generals that run both the Air Guard and the Royal army.” Celestia says matter of factly. I look at the two closer, picking up more detail. The one on the right was a pegasus and his tail was clipped extra short, and his mane drooped over his right eye. The other one was a unicorn. The Unicorn had a eye patch over his left eye, and as he spoke, it sent chills down my spine, it was a certain bone chilling gravelly sound.

“Your Majesty, we have received a Message from the Griffin Empire saying that they demand more food." The stallion on the throne looks at the soldier with the curious Glare.

"Who is this message from, is it from the government, or from the Pirates?" The Unicorn looks at the Pegasus, and the Pegasus gives the unicorn a slight nod.

"It's from the Pirates sir they demand the food by wednesday of next week, or else they'll double the ships on the coast of the Griffin Empire." Celestius looks out the nearest stained window, and begins to shake his head slowly as he chuckles.

"These griffins see me as a fool, I do not negotiate with pirates or anyone that will bring disharmony to my land, or anyone else's for that matter." Turning back to the two soldiers he stands up from his throne and walks closer to them and in exchange the two walk further back to give him room.

"Double the shipments of soldiers to the Griffin Empire, crush them and everything they stand for, and to deal with the ships, send our Navy north of the Capital city Harbor, from what I last heard they were heading south to cut off supply shipments, we can flank them and crush them from behind." The two soldiers lift the right hooves up to the top of their eyes and salute, and Celestius returns it.

I wasn't sure what was really happening or how this happened, but I could definitely tell, this was a different time for Equestria. I turn over and look at Celestia her eyes deadlocked on the figure that Stood before her.

I nudged her shoulder and she quickly snapped out of her gaze and looked over to me. When she looked at me, I cleared my throat and spoke up.

"Celestia, from what I've gathered so far is that the griffins were at war with your father, and that's why you have a grudge against them, correct?" Celestia slowly nodded but opened her mouth to say something.

"It's not that I have a grudge against the Griffins, it's the fact that the Griffin Empire fell so quickly into pirate claws." I still wasn't getting the full picture, so I open my mouth to ask for clarification but she lifted up her hoof in protest.

"Back in the year 500 BCR my father and the Griffin Empire were close friends and allies. They shared trade, they exchanged science breakthroughs, and allowed free travel between the two countries." Suddenly the previous scene that I just witnessed began to melt away into whiteness and we were back into a void of nothingness.

"But in the span of 50 years, that friendship sunk into chaos as the civilians of the Griffin Empire began to go into a severe hunger crisis." Suddenly pictures from the book or at least I thought was the book, began flashing up all around me. They showed starving Griffin families, weak Griffin pups, destroyed crops, dried up rivers, and crumbling buildings. The pictures were truly depressing though they really didn't do much to me since I've seen this kind of stuff before. Celestia began to talk again.

"As you can see from these pictures, their country was in total disarray, The Griffin Empire tried everything and anything to restore balance and order to their land. But sadly in the end nothing happened, if anything things got worse." Celestia kept on talking but as she talked, she walked forward and leaned her head back as she spoke, keeping direct eye contact with me the whole time. Are hooves echoing throughout the void.

"Running out of options for their country the Griffin empire asked us if we can start sending food over, in exchange they would give us money." Suddenly a picture flashed up in front of us of a very important looking Griffin ruler wearing a black suit and pants with a bunch of ribbons and buttons plastered on the chest. He wore a black officers hat that had a golden rim running along the base of the cloth and the brim, on the center of the hat had a brightly colored flag that flew the colors of white and red. In the middle of the white and red divided flag was a golden claw.

On the right side however was Celestius, wearing his usual golden armor as his mane waved in it's non-existent wind. On either side of him were guards.

"I assume that's the Griffin empires leader." I said pointing my gray hoof at the Griffin wearing the suit. Celestia shakes her head in confirmation.

"Yes, that's him, this picture is a replication of what happened when the Griffin leader came to visit us in the year 525 BCR." She said as the picture slowly faded away into the whiteness.

As we continue forward more pictures began popping up out of the book or really out of the void showing me and Celestia, images of fast ships with humongous sails sailing across a huge ocean, all of which were carrying food and some troops to protect them.

"At this point, The Griffin Empire thought they were safe, they were being bailed out by one of their friends, the civilians will be getting their meals every day, and they could spend more time working on fixing this hunger crisis." Celestia stated. "But of course, good things don't last for long, in the year 575 the civilians became restless once more." Celestia said then she stopped walking.

Suddenly without any warning the whiteness of the room instantly switched off back into blackness. Of course I could still see Celestia, for her horn was glowing a golden light that shined brightly. I could take a wild guess of what was going to happen next, so I walked up closer to Celestia nearly right beside her and spoke again.

"Are we going back into the animation land again?" I asked. Celestia smiled and shook her head confirming my suspicion as the light begin to funnel in front of us and blind me as I watched as the darkness faded away.

As I felt the blinding light dissipate, I open my eyes to find out that I was on a ship filled with dozens and dozens of pony sailors and giant crates. I looked around me, we were in a vast ocean just like the pictures I saw before, the ship I was had a huge sail, three to be exact.

Seagulls flew above the highest point of the mast as I could see another pony at the top at a lookout tower. The skies were clear with only a few clouds floating nearby, the seas were rough though, the ship bounced back and forth crashing into each wave that we came across. I continue look to at the ocean, I noticed that we weren't the only ship in the water, two other ships on either side of us sailed behind. I walked over to the railing trying not to disturb the scenery that was happening, I leaned over and watched as the ship rocked back-and-forth either pulling me back or pushing me forward. Upon casting my gaze up at the other ships I could see that some were carrying crates too and others were carrying soldiers like an escort.

Suddenly a voice shouted out from behind me,

"Aye, everypony gather around, the captain is about to come up on the deck so listen up!" I turned around to find a Royal guard wearing his usual golden uniform, but instead of the helmet it was replaced with a pirate hat that had a skull and crossbones in the center along with his golden armor which had decorations on either side of the shoulder.

"He must be the assistant captain." I said to myself. All the ponies that were on the deck at the time, turned around and walked and trotted towards the loudmouth guard. When they all surrounded him, The captain came forward out of the hull of the ship through a door behind him, He was wearing the same attire except that his golden uniform wasn't golden at all it was silver with blue lining. The assistant captain move aside and the real captain took his place. When he was situated, he began a speech.

"Alright listen up, we are here to do one thing and one thing only, and that is to deliver the food and leave the country. And I know what you are all thinking, if are only delivering food, why did we bring soldiers? Well the answer is simple, because the civilians are still pissed." I moved over to the crowd of the ponies and listened in and watched over the top of them seeing how I was much taller.

"When we step off, you are to begin unpacking the food immediately. When you unpack the food there will be a Griffin waiting for you. Give the food to the Griffin and he will distribute it to the civilians. These Griffins are from the government, you can trust them, understand?" All the sailors looked at each other and be good confirming with slow murmurs or nods then look back to the captain and saluted. And he saluted back.

"Okay good, now back to work, we should arrive within the hour." And with that, the captain retreated back inside and the assistant captain followed him slamming the door shut. As the sailor ponies went back to their routine Celestia came up behind me and began explaining what was happening, even though technically I already knew.

"As you've probably guessed we accepted the Griffin empires deal, and much like this cargo transport right here, dozens like it sailed across the ocean every single month delivering food to the Griffins." She said as again the scene I was just in, disappeared it back into the whiteness.

Celestia turns around and looks at me and begins to speak in a monotone voice. "To save on time i'm going to just quickly explain what happens between now and the future to make this long story a short story." I nod my head in exception as she turns around and begins walking, I follow in suit.

"Over the course of the next few years this process of cargo shipment's continued on. The civilians became satisfied and the government paid off their debt with our kingdom. And along with paying off the debt the Griffin Empire invested in fishing and resource mining. As their fishing skills increased and they began to get more food, our kingdom saw this as an opportunity to begin giving them less food seeing how they were getting their own, this deal was proposed to the government and they said it was a good idea. By this time it was the year 600." We continue to walk as Celestia began to talk again, but as she talked another set of pictures appeared on either side of us but, these pictures looked a little bit different than the others. They had a lot more color a lot more detail unlike the ones before, plus they looked a bit more modern.

NEW CHAPTER!!! HOLY CRAP I'M SO F**KING HAAAAPPPYYYYY THAT I GOT THIS OUT!!!!!! Seriously, school can suck it...

Chapter #7

9/16/97…
???…
0545 hours… (5:45am)

As I stare at the picture directly in front of us, I slowly realize that the picture is of a mineshaft with Griffin's working left and right hauling pics back-and-forth with carts of stone and other minerals running up and down a track in the center of the shaft. What was really interesting was that everything seemed fairly organized.

I looked closely at the painting seeing how the griffins were dressed, they wore Blue overalls, underneath the overalls were white T-shirts. Their claws sported a set of leather gloves that gripped to the pics very firmly. Their back paws wore very worn out and dirty boots. They donned yellow helmets on the heads with lights on the front illuminating the walls for them to see. They looked liked the stereotype of a stereotype, which to me was strange. They looked almost like the miners I used to see back on Earth. This coincidence would not go un voiced.

“Uh Princess, this painting, how modern is this?” I ask turning to her. She looks away from the photo and gives me a confused look.

“What do you mean?” Shes asks in return. I move my hoof in the general direction of one of the workers.

“Well the reason I ask is that, these miners look just like the ones we have, back on our world. The clothing is nearly the same, these methods are a little old but other than that, they look the same.” Celestia looks at the painting, then begins to squint her eyes trying to think up a explanation. Turning back to me, she asks a question,

“What year is your time period currently in?”

“1940’s, why?” I ask.

“I was judging how far apart these time frames are, they are about 1300 years apart.” She says looking back at the photo. “I don’t have an answer, this is a picture of their time, no alteration.”

I shake my head in disbelief, “Maybe it’s just a coincidence.” I say to her. After dismissing the thought I shook my head. “But, no time to dwell on it, lets move on.” The picture quickly disappears as Celestia agrees and we move on.

As we continue forward Celestia begins to break down what came next. The Griffon Kingdom began to reform and the government regained control of the civilians as they created more jobs in the mines. But, as time went on, and word got out that Equestria was beginning to slack with their supply shipments, the civilians became, violent, saying that they needed more food for their families at home because everyone was either working in the mines or fishing out at sea.The government tried to explain to them that they didn’t need the Equestrians support, but they weren’t having any of it.

Thus the riots came back.

The Equestrians and the Griffins were in outrage, nothing could please the civilians. The police tried to suppress the riots like before. But this time the civilians came in stronger for police were quickly killed or wounded by protesters wielding swords and spears. So the government did what the Griffins said they should have done long ago in a secret letter to Celestius himself.

Wage war, for now the rioters had called it a revolution.

Thus the conflict broke out with officers opening fire on protesters with crossbows and cut them down with swords as the protesters tried to take multiple police headquarters to access weapons. A pattern was formed out of the chaos, every day the government would launch an attack against the protesters as the protesters fought back with stolen weapons from the police. As every day passed more Griffons fell on both sides rebel or government. This continued for a month, four full weeks of constant fighting as the death count rose higher. On the final week of that month. The Equestrian Navy arrived and began to bombard the coast with a spectacular show of cannon fire as the sandstone buildings on the shore collapsed, and with the navy came the whole Royal Equestrian Marine Force. They pushed onto the beaches of rebel held territory and began to capture land. The rebels had no choice but to fall back and get to hiding from the attacking Equestrians.

But even though they hid, the Marines still found them, and killed them.

The remaining rebels fled to the seas as a victory was announced. After about another two weeks, the Equestrian forces began to rebuild the shattered coast and educated the police and army alike to fight alongside them creating an even bigger bond. Everything was going well for Equestria.

Then the year 650 appeared when everything went downhill. The rebels came back armed with different technology. A new form of weapon. One that shook the Equestrian forces down to their last man on the battlefield.

Flint Lockwood rifles. They came from the sea and began a forward assault on the eastern shores as the Equestrian forces were quickly defeated. Celestia said that, since they had mining experience, it was easy for them to find the items required to build such weapons. After the rebels got midway. The whole of the Equestrian Army and the Marines were standing by, along with the Griffon police force, and army. Armed with crossbows, bows and arrows, swords and spears. Along with cannons and trebuchets for artillery. But as Celestia mentioned the battles name, the battle that happened that day, the battle that defined the griffons kingdom and Equestrians bond, shot me down in my pride and reminded me of something from my world.

It was called, The Battle of Midway, the crushing defeat of the Equestrian forces… The rebels flanked the main assault force and caught them by surprise, mowing them down quickly. The artillery that was stationed in the back, tried to keep up, but unfortunately for them, they were surprised by a small task force of rebels, and they quickly fell too.

After Midway, Equestria folded its playing card and pulled a tactical retreat after losing 2500 soldiers and marines alike The biggest loss in their entire history.

Soon after, the Griffon Empire, went offline. The people of Equestria were in shock to see there military get cut down that quickly. Mass graves were erected around the equestrian coast as the soldier that were recovered, were laid to rest. It was truly the darkest point in their history. Or at least they thought.

For in the year 1000, a little over 400 year later. Celestius, began to think of a way to strike back the rebels.

As I listened to Celestia tell the final chapter of the history lesson, her voice dipped even more. Tears began welling up in her eyes as she spoke.

“In the year 1000, my father experimented with the same technology the griffons used, but when he did. Something, went wrong.” Celestia, I could tell was on the verge of a emotional collapse. I had never seen her like this, everything about her was falling apart, her royal stature, her professionalism. What was left was akin to a child missing her parents.

As the landscape changed again I found myself in a field full of grass. The sun hung in the center of the sky as I could hear the wind and birds chirping. I saw Celestius and a few ponies wearing white lab coats, they surrounded him. In front of him was a gigantic machine. The machine had a long chute that extended for about five feet. In the back was a large box. On the side read, “Gunpowder.” I couldn’t hear what they were saying but I could tell what was going to happen next fro the way celestia was watching, bug eyed.

A few seconds passed and Celestius walked away from the ponies as they prepared the device. It took merely seconds for everything to go wrong, the Scientist ignited the powder from a fuse, and the fuse lead to the box. When it reached the box, the whole thing exploded. Smoke and fire engulfed the air as the device was destroyed. Faintly I could hear screaming as the ponies burned in the inferno. But as the smoke cleared, there wasn’t anypony there anymore.
Then everything faded to black. I looked around for Celestia, she was looking away from me, her head was close to the ground. Tears glistened of the darkness, and fell into the void.

“Celestia, why did you show me this? Why put yourself through this just to show me what happened?” I asked trotting over to her. Her head looked up at me with tears flowing down flared red checks.

“So I could see him again.” She said without regret, nearly yelling it out at me.

Her horn began to glow bright white as everything faded away to nothing, then darkness again. But the darkness surrounded me again, I felt different. Not only in physical form, but emotional form. The princess was torn to shreds by her fathers death, only now could I see this for real. She needs my help. She wants me to help her, I could feel it. Opening my eyes again, I was staring up at a metal ceiling from which lights hung from. I was in the warehouse again. Great.

Leaning up I saw the Princess curled up in a little ball, sleeping. Looking around, the body was gone from the table with a little note where it was saying,

“He’s at rest now.” Signed Charlie. The science ponies were gone as well.

As I rose from the ground Celestia woke up. I walked over to her and extended a hand down to help her. She looked up and smiled weakly as she placed a hoof on my hand and pulled herself up. When she got on four hoofs I stood back and placed my hands behind my back in a proper manner. She looked at me with the same eyes I saw in the void. Those eyes of a lost child.

“John,” She began. “I know I have asked a lot of you ever since you’ve gotten here, and quite frankly, I’m sorry. But I will ask of you one more thing, one more act of kindness. Whatever your answer maybe, it doesn’t matter, I just need to know,” She stopped and looked over to the left with wandering eyes, then darted back quickly and said, “Will you help me crush the Griffon empire?” Knowing my answer already, I began to pace around her and give her my little speech of my own plans.

“Princess, back on my home world, my country has a little saying that I love to go by, day by day. ‘No man left behind, and if left, no man left un-avenged.’ I will help you, but not for the same reasons you want. Your fathers death to you is the sailors death to me. Your father was a great leader, and commander, and you wish to live up to him, correct?” She nodded yes and I continued to pace, but I added a little bit more kick to my step.

“You want to destroy the empire that engulfed your father and sent him to his grave, you want to hear the sound of your enemy begging more mercy. They took what belonged to you, now you want to return the favor by wiping them out!” I yelled.
A wicked smile appeared on her face. Something I’ve never seen before, and I liked it. It was time to wake the giant.

“Well so do I, those sailors may not have been blood to me, I may not have known them, hell I didn’t know they existed till now. But, there is one thing. They’re part of my navy, they are part of my country, something I hold closer than and relative I know. I would kill myself if it meant saving their lives, cause to be honest, they died, for nothing.” I stopped pacing and looked at her directly, her face hasn't changed.

“Those men didn’t even go out the way they should have, they should have at least gone out for their country, but no, they get killed by some unknown enemy they have never heard of on a planet billions of years away from their own. And to me that's unacceptable. So princess yes, I will help you, to avenge those whose lives were taken for no reason and their lives cut short.” She stepped forward and came about four inches away from me before sticking out her hoof towards me, the smile still plastered on her face. Smiling back I connected the hoof shake.

“To the death of our common enemy.” She said finally. We gave one big shake then we headed for the door. Now instead of a child wanting her parents, I saw something else. Behind all of that princesses talk of friendship and love was something else that was tucked away from the public. Something that would go against everything she stood for.

And I just woke it up. Now instead of the child, I saw only a soldier wanting justice. And I was proud of it.
