Steam. Water vapor, created by heating water to point of boiling, and collecting the gases that form. It has aided this world, creating powerful weapons, vehicles, and tools. With the machines they had, the world of magic would soon turn into a world of technology.

It is the year 110. Equestria has been reformed into a pro-technology constitutional monarchy. Now, it is the average pony, not the monarch, that decides what should happen. The Parliament decides when the sun should be raised, and the moon lowered. The Paliament decides when to use the Elements of Harmony, and who should use them. Powerful corporations flex their muscles of influence and wealth in every level of government, for they control the new economy. The sisters have been reduced to mere figureheads, chained and muzzled by the chaos of democracy.

And now... there are whispers of a plot. A political one, to remove the sisters from their throne... permanently.

But only a monarch can rule Equestria. Because only a monarch can preserve the harmony.
