Pirates of the One Piece: Black flag

by Yoni

First published

The three most notorious pirates came to Equestria. Monkey D Luffy, Edward Kenway and Jack Sparrow. What will happen to these three is for me to write and for you to read...

They say everything is connected, and boy were they right.

Four very different worlds were connected by one VERY powerfull connection, said connection was strong enough that it pulled the three most fearsome pirates into the peaceful land of Equestria.

The rubber boy who ate the gum gum fruit, Monkey D Luffy.

"I'm gonna be the pirate king!"

The most luckiest (and probably the most drunk) pirate of the Caribbeans, Jack Sparrow.

"It's CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow."

And the most canny and greedy assassin of the west indies, Edward Kenway.

"Nothing is true, everything is- Oy... Shut your gob and go screw yourself!"

The three will find themselves being number one to three the most wanted men in all of Equestria, and I'm not talking 'wanted' like Justin Bieber chased by twelve years old fan girls. No I'm talking 'wanted' as being chased by guards and three very angry princesses.

This story can and will contain spoilers, you have been warned.

The alternate tag is for the following:

Assassin's creed - Edward has the apple of Eden.
Pirates of the Carribbean - Jack Sparrow has one of the cursed Aztec coins.
Friendship is Magic - during season four, no alicorn Twilight.

For those who don't know the crossovers: Pirates of the caribbean(movie), One Piece(anime), Assassin's Creed: Black Flag(game). I see a lot of crossover fics that doesn't have the common decency to at least make sure the readers know about what the crossover is, I hope that helps.

Prologue

Was it a beautiful sunny day? Or was it a stormy night? Truth be told, it was both. For you see; there's more than just ONE world. In my story, there were four. Three of them did have a terrible storm raging on at sea, the fourth world was more blessed with yet another cloudless day.

It might seem random for three very different worlds to be connected somehow but oh they sure are connected. You see, the four worlds share a bond, an unbreakable bond. Said bond is the figment of my imagination, it cannot be broken or trampled by the mundane life, but I digress.

So, with no further ado, let us jump into the first world; It is a world composed of islands, with four different seas known as the west blue, the east blue, the south blue and the north blue. These four massive seas are divided by two lines. The red line; a belt of land that stretches around the entire world. And the grand line, a water belt filled with islands, each as colorful and diverse as the next. The grand line is also accompanied by two smaller lines in each side; both are known as the calm belts, they are called that way because both winds and waves are two things that no mortal or immortal eye has ever witness there.

Inside the calm belt, near Rusukaina Island, or as it better known 'the forty eight seasons island', was a man. But he wasn't just any man, oh no, he was Monkey D Luffy, the future pirate king. In his youth, Luffy ate the gum gum fruit; it is a type of devil fruit that allowed him to stretch his body like rubber. He was in the middle of his training when the storm hit, a thing that caught Luffy by surprise since there are no storms in the calm belt under any circumstances.

"What the hell…" he muttered, looking over the storm and completely unaware of the giant lion sneaking behind him. His eyes were transfixed on the waterspout near the shores that it wasn't aware until it was too late og the charging lion. The beast swiped at Luffy with such force that caused him the fly all the way into the waters. He started flailing to no avail, the raging waters were too much for Luffy, after all, devil fruit users can't swim.

And so… the powerless rubber boy was brutally carried by the waves and into the waterspout, the last thing Luffy remembered was his straw hat flying in the wind. He did all he could and managed to catch it moments before getting sucked underwater…

The second world is a much calmer one; our protagonist was walking around deck, shouting orders as the storm became more violent. His quartermaster, Anna Bonny, was by his side "Edward!" she shouted with a heavy Irish accent "We just lost three more crew members to this cursed storm and are being chased by a Spanish galleon!"

"Jaysus, 'tis a load of bullocks! Man the cannons!" he bellowed with his own Welsh accent.

You'd probably ask me if this pirate can promise you a story filled with prizes, plunder and adventure. Aye, for amongst all the gentlemen of fortune sailing these West Indies, he ranks amongst the most clever, there was a time the great Blackbeard thought himself the deadliest scourge in the seas.

But this man… is a fearsome dog… a fiend of trouble and turmoil; he cleaned the deck of that Spanish Galleon like it was nothing, fighting like a devil, dressed as a man.

And he's a canny one, knows his way around every crag and crevice of these islands, so if is fortune and adventure you seek, captain Edward Kenway is your man. Only… don't meddle in his private affairs, for there's more mystery in that man, that even I dare write.

But as all good 'Humans in Equestria' Fanfics start, this too, began with a slight problem. This problem was round, metallic
and headed towards Edward at tremendous speed. Can you guess what it is?

You're right! It was a cannon ball, and it nearly decapitated the captain but instead, it hit the deck near him and causing him to fall into the water. Edward tried to swim back to the 'Jackdaw' while making sure the apple of Eden was safely secure inside his jacket , but Neptune had other plans for the captain, or more precisely, I had other plans for him, mainly including getting sucked right into a waterspout.

The third world is quiet similar to the second one but has its own differences. Our protagonist though, is not amongst the living at that particular point. His adventures across the sea led him to this point, to be betrayed and eventually, devoured by the kraken. He was inside Davy Jones's locker at the moment. Not the most interesting place considering there was nothing but white ground for miles and blue, cloudless sky that stretched all the way and over the horizon.

Captain Jack Sparrow was busy commanding his empty ship 'The Black Peal' with his imaginary selves. In his eyes, the entire ship was manned by him selves. But all chatter ceased when the sky turned gray and the wind, which was non-existent until now, picked up. The original captain Jack Sparrow (the one with the hat) was looking intently into the sky for a few moments before shouting "Unfold the mast you filthy dogs, and get ready!" he shouted to the rest of his imagination. His other selves complied and did as he asked, not wanting to anger their captain, especially not after he shot one of them over a peanut.

The 'Pearl' shook violently moments before being slowly dragged by the wind, surprisingly, the sails showed no signs of actually flying in the wind nor did the captain felt the pull of it. But that's reasonable of course, because as we all know, dead men can't feel. It was odd, really. Before he started losing his already shaken mind, he wondered how he could die while carrying one of the cursed Aztec coins. These cursed coins made their bearers unable to die, but it came with a terrible fate, food won't satisfy their hunger, drinks won't satisfy their thirst and the moonlight showed what they really were, walking and rotting skeletons. But gold is gold and our beloved captain simply couldn't resist.

The 'Pearl' started to slowly grind against the hard, white ground that covered Davy Jones's locker and into the newly formed waterspout in the middle of nowhere. Jack simply watched nonchalantly as the ship was dragged closer and closer towards ground zero, occasionally taking a swig from a bottle of rum while singing.

'Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirate life for me…'

And so, the dead captain was dragged into the waterspout, thinking it was nothing more than another crazy fantasy his mind conjured to entertain itself, and darkness soon followed.

When he woke up, he noticed that he was being dragged by someone, he tried to speak but his mouth felt dry and he ended up coughing violently.

"Shut up, will you!" bellowed one of the guards that dragged the captain to his uncertain fate.

His senses slowly began to return, enough to the point that he could take a good look at his captors. The two wore a similar set of golden armor, making Jack to wonder how much he could sell those in the black market. But the armor soon became the least of his interest as his eyes met the guards the dragged him.

They weren't humans by a longshot.

The two were covered with fur that seemed slightly transparent, in fact, the two guards were see-through and seemed to be composed out of fur and crystal.

But before he could say more, he was unceremoniously dropped into a cell; the cell however, was occupied by two more persons. One was lying on the floor, sleeping, with a straw hat on his head. The other one sat in the corner and looked rather annoyed by this whole situation.

"Fucking great, more inmates…" he ranted with a heavy welsh accent "Who are you?" he asked.

Jack stood up and dusted himself off of any kind of dirt and straightened his hat "The name is Captain Jack Sparrow, and where, might I ask, am I?"

The robed Assassin smirked and said "You're in Equestria mate..."

Cadance was having a very bad day. For not one, not two, but three unidentified creatures were sighted and apprehended by her guards, the first one was roaming across the crystal empire while demanding meat and declaring himself to be the future pirate king. The guards tried to seize him but he resisted. Luckily, with the help of half a dozen unicorn guards, they managed to render the creature unconscious.

Cadance rubbed her head even further when she remember the second encounter, this one however, was found inside the treasury with his hands and pockets filled with as much bits he could carry. Cadance had to personally intervene since the robed creature held a device that somehow maddened her guards, the effects still hadn't wore off. Strangely enough, the device seemed to have no effect over the princess of love, and she wasn't complaining, after seizing the second creature and stripping him of his weapons, he too, was thrown to the dungeon.

The third encounter was much more… subtle then the others, the creature simply appeared in the princess's bedchambers. Suffice to say, the princess was less than pleased with that particular turn of event. The creature was stripped of weaponry and was taken immediately to the dungeon.

The princess was now on her throne with her beloved husband by her side, lightly massaging her aching shoulders; she shivered in delight when shining relieved an excessively stressed muscle "What should we do dear? Three creatures with unknown origins appear in the empire and almost caused havoc." Shining Armor spoke.

"I… I believe I should inform my aunts about these turn of events, if anypony would know what to do, they will." Cadance used her magic a conjured a quill and a parchment and started writing…

Dear aunt Celestia-

Forgive me for interrupting your duties but something happened within the crystal empire that requires yours and your sister's full attention, forgive me for not elaborating but I'm afraid such matters must be spoken face-to-face, please respond soon.

Sincerely princess Mi Amore Cadenza.

Cadance folded the parchment and sealed it, using her magic to send it all the way to Canterlot, moments later; she got a letter bearing the royal seal and opened it quickly.

My dearest niece -

I'm relaying on the fact that you had time to write me a letter to believe that the situation, urgent as in may be, is under control temporarily. And if that's the case I urge you to be patient while my sister and I are arriving as fast as we can to ensure the empire's safety. Please inform your guards that both my sister and I will be arriving using 'The Destiny Ascension' so they could clear a place for us to land.

Yours truly Princess Celestia.

Cadence sighed in relief as she finished reading the letter, her aunties are coming. Cadence let herself relax into shining armor's massage a little bit more, knowing both Celestia and Luna are coming made her body to relax tremendously. But there was still some tension in her body, a small part in her head still trying to warn her of upcoming trouble. One thing was certain though, this is gonna be a long day…

Author's Notes:

First chapter of a hopefully a good story, like I said in the description, if you like the story, I'll continue writing. But if not I'll delete it.

Please express your opinions in the comments.

The assassin

A blur, everything was just one big blur. Luffy tried to stand up, but as soon as he started moving, violent coughs erupted from his mouth and pretty much pinned him back down. The blurs slowly made sense; everything now seemed like in really low definition rather than a haze.

"Oi, you okay lad?" a voice said from… wherever Luffy was.

"Y-Yeah, I think-" another coughing fit took over what Luffy was going to say, this time though, he felt a few spurts of salty water come out of him mouth "Damm… sea water…" he managed to say between chokes.

Finally, the coughing subsided and his vision became clearer. As it turns out, he was in a cell with two more men.

Who… who are you people?" Luffy asked.

"The name is Captain Jack Sparrow," said Jack "Nice hat by the way."

"Thanks…" he took his straw hat from his hat and looked at it, he then turned to the other man on the room "And you are?"

"My name is Edward Kenway," said Edward as he adjusted his hood "What's your?"

Luffy smirked and stood up, putting his hat back on "My name is Monkey D Luffy…" he pulled his hand from his head and looked and the two men proudly "And I'm gonna be the pirate king!"

Jack and Edward looked at each other; Edward was the first to speak "You do realize that's a load of bullocks. We pirates became what we are because we defied the kings and their rules. What makes you think there is such a thing as a pirate king."

"Actually mate…" Jack interrupted "There isn't a pirate king yet; the brethren court never reached an bargain on who will become the future pirate king."

"What are you two talking about? The pirate king is the one who finds the One Piece," Said Luffy.

Before any of them could express their beliefs, a large bang resonated from the bars behind Luffy; he turned around and saw… someone. At least he thought it was someone, instead of skin he had a thin layer of transparent coat and a short muzzle, his ears were located at the top of his head rather than the sides and his back supported two massive wings.

"Be quiet in there!" he roared.

"Why won't you come inside and make us." Edward rose from his corner and stepped forward.

"As much as I would love to kick your plot repeatedly, I had strict orders to keep you locked up." The guard resorted.

"Yeah, watch me!" Declared Luffy. Feeling that he was completely dry, he pulled his arm backwards and shouted, "Gum Gum… PISTOL!" Then, all of a sudden, Luffy's arm stretched and tore the bars completely off the wall, hitting the guard in the process and knocking him down.

"Jaysus! What was that!?" Edward screamed.

"I believe that I'm too sober to deal with this right now," said Jack, he quickly rose up and moved out of the cell, careful not to step on the unconscious guard "Just close your eyes and pretend it's all a bad dream, that's how I get by…" he then picked a random direction and walked away.

Luffy ran the opposite direction, letting his nose guide him. Edward stayed behind until he finally decided that was enough. He approached the guard and searched for everything of value. He found a sword, a few golden coins and a bundle of keys. After that, he began walking down the hall where Jack went.

It didn't take long for Edward to find his way out of the dungeon. What surprised him though, was the fact that everything, from the floor to the ceiling, was pure crystal. And just like his friend Bonnet once said, it was a truly awe-full pleasure.

But his marveling got cut short when he heard the clatter of metal coming from a hallway to his left. Edward quickly dove behind a pillar and carefully glanced beyond it. There, where he stood moments ago, were five of these weird beasts. He closed his eyes and when he opened them, everything became dull and grey. He focused on the guards until he could see a faint green aura.

It was his Eagle Vision; those who possess the gift are able to instinctively sense how people and objects relate to them, which manifests as a colored glow, much like an aura.

When an individual masters Eagle Vision, the ability can evolve to the more advanced Eagle Sense. This stage heightens all the senses of its user, allowing them to detect the heartbeat of a target in the area, or even foresee a target's path.

For this ability, a variety of colored glows are used to mark different people or objects. Red indicates enemies or spilled blood, blue indicates allies, white indicates sources of information or hiding spots, and gold indicates targets or objects of interest.

But he never saw green, nor did he understand its meaning. Deciding to play it safe, Edward decided to simply 'tag' the guards and pay attention if anyone of them comes closer again. He moved back behind the pillar as he watched the guards' auras through the wall itself, a very handy skill indeed.

Once the guards moved out, Edward came out of his hiding place and down the hall the guards just came from. He walked slowly and carefully, making sure to make less noise as possible.

Luckily for him, he found exactly what he was looking for; the barracks. Once inside, Edwards started rummaging through the different cabinets and weird metallic lockers in search of his belongings. Shortly after he started, he found what he was looking for.

Two pistol-swords, four golden flintlock pistols with a single bullet each, a handful of smoke bombs, ten berserk and sleep darts (with the blowpipe of course), fifteen rope darts and his trusty hidden blades, luckily all in working conditions. He then rummaged some more until he found his most powerful asset of all; the piece of Eden.

Edward found the piece of Eden beneath the assassin's hideout after a storm hit the shores of the island and revealed a long lost forgotten cave system. According to Ah Tabai, the assassin's mentor, only Edward can wield such a powerful artifact without being consumed by power and madness.

Edward sighed in relief as he strapped all his weapons on their respectful places onto his robes. Now feeling more confident, he hurried outside and down the hall once again, hoping to find his way out of this place and make some sense.

It seems that lady luck was on his side today as he reached the exit of the castle without being detected yet. His robes
concealed his hairless face as he mingled with these strange people. Some of them shot a suspecting glance towards Edward; he avoided them as much as possible.

"Did you hear what happened today? Three creatures appeared in the empire!" Edward heard a group of females talking among themselves.

"Yeah, I heard something about hairless apes or something," the second one said.

"I saw one, you know, about two hours ago. One of them roamed around the market when I was shopping. He was wet and looked really tired. He said something about being hungry and eating meat, I was so glad the guards seized him, he was scary." The third one chimed in.

Edward decided it was best to move out, he took a quick glance towards the city "This entire god dammed place is made out of gems…" he silently said. Edward looked around a bit more until he stopped, facing the castle, the only tall building around. So, in order to see better, he did what every sane human would do in his stead, he scaled the – nearly vertical – walls of the palace.

The first few tries were a bit of a failure on his part, the crystal was smooth and clean, not a single crack to get a good footing. Thankfully, after circling the palace for a bit, Edward found some scaffolds that led all the way to the top. A few workers were there also, chatting.

"This work is hard…" complained one of them while wiping some sweat off his brow.

Another worker laughed "What did you expect when you signed up; it takes a lot of preparations to set the empire for the Equestrian games, just be grateful you're not the one working on the coliseum."

Edward ignored the workers and began to scale the scaffolding. As far as he could tell, no one saw him reach the top, and as he scanned his surrounding, he saw something that caught his breath. Out in the distance, a huge ship sailed through the skies!

"What in god's name…"

Edward hid behind one of the pillars that dotted the peak of the palace; getting caught was not on his agenda.

He waited for what must be hours, thinking of means of escape "I could steal that ship… but I don't believe I have the right skills to operate it… maybe I can-"

His muttering was interrupted by an explosion coming from inside the castle, followed by screaming and shouting.

He took a glance downwards to see what all the commotion was about. He did not expect to see the same kid with the straw hat running away as dozens of guards chased him, all the while laughing…

Author's Notes:

Finaly another chapter for my most successful story yet.
Now, before all the rage comments start, let me eplain a few things.

One, Luffy was caught so easily because he was stil wet. Sea water makes devil fruit users to become weak.

Two, I know that Jack, Edward and Luffy barely said anything to each other, that's because it wasn't the 'formal' meet-n-greet, that will come later on.

And finaly, the next two chapters will focues each on Luffy and Jack separately. On the fourth chapter, the three will reunite...

I hope that'll explain some of your questions and defuse the hate comments.

The captain

It seems that even inside the locker, Jack could still be caught. At least, he thought he was still in the locker. This place is too surreal to be anything but…

Although, if it wasn't the locker, that means he's alive again, though where exactly is still a mystery. The pirate calmly walked through the hallways, looking for anything of interest, be it the treasure room, a nice girl, or rum. Yeah… rum, after that debacle on the deserted island with Elizabeth, Jack developed a closer bond with his favorite drink.

He turned a corner and saw a staircase leading downwards. From personal experience, Jack deduced that it must be the wine cellar. And so, without missing a beat, he ventured downwards.

"Ahh, finally."

It seemed lady luck smiled upon him. It was, indeed, a wine cellar. It had massive barrels lined across the room with labels on them and taps within comfortable reach. Jack smiled and started feeling his jacket, looking for something for that exact occasion.

"Now where is that… ah ha!" Jack pulled a fancy looking tankard from an inside pocket and smiled upon it. It was a 'gift' given to him when he visited one of the pubs back at Tortuga.

He walked towards one of the barrels and turned the handle. A deep red liquid poured from the tap and straight into the mug, felling it to the brim. Jack pulled the mug away from the stream and straight into his mouth, not even caring for the spilled liquid. Jack drank and drank, not caring for the still present thirst in his throat thanks to the curse, but that was just another reason why to keep drinking.

"Hey! What are you doing here, this room is off limits!" came a gruff voice from the foot of the staircase. A lone guard stood there, the dim light proved to be enough to mask Jacks identity from the guard.

"Good idea, I'll let you know if someone does come here." Jack replied as he started to walk away from the puzzled guard.

"W-What! Hey stop!" the guard approached the captain "I'm not warning you ag-guahh…"

Jack spun in his place and his mug connected firmly with the guard's helmet. The force of the impact resonated inside the uncomfortably acoustic helmet and dazzled the guard.

Jack saw the opportunity and smacked the guard in the head yet again, rendering the guard unconscious. He then placed the mug safely in his jacket and grabbed the guard from his legs, pulling him behind the many barrels.

It took him some time but Jack managed to strip the guard from his armor and put it on himself. The armor was just a tad bit bigger than Jack but it did cover his face and most of his body. Jack was about to head back outside when he took a quick glance towards the sleeping guard.

Jack knew he couldn't leave him like that, so, he took a rope from a nearby rack and started binding the guard's legs and arms. He also used a tattered cloth as a makeshift mouth gag to stop the guard from alerting the others when he woke up.

Finally, Jack was ready. He looked down at the guard and took his hat off, putting it closer to his chest.

"Nothing personal mate…"

Jack was back in the halls. It his slightly tipsy state he decided to explore the rest of the castle for more plunder to… 'Borrow'. He came to a stop near a big double door with golden linings imbedded in it. Jack tried to peel the gold with his spear he took from the guard but found it impossible, the gold stuck to it too strongly.

"Hey, you there!"

Jack froze in his place before slowly turning around to face the source of the voice. It was another guard.

"Come with me! We need to make sure what the prisoners brought with them." he commanded.

Jack nodded and walked towards the guard. Maybe if he played his cards right, he could get his stuff back. And by the pristine look of that Edward fella, he could take his equipment as well.

The guard led him to a small room with nothing but a single table in it. On the table Jack saw what he was looking for. His trusty sword, a flintlock pistol with a single shot loaded, and his compass. Unfortunately, there wasn't a sign to where the other pirates' belongings were. Oh well, it was a start at least.

"Hey, are you going to help me with this stuff or are you going to stare at the table all day!" the guard bellowed and moved forward to inspect the contents. His first thing was the compass.

"Heh, who in their right mind would keep a broken compass, it doesn't even point to the north. That guy must be the worst pirate I've ever heard."

A spike of anger rose inside Jack, and as the proud captain he was…

He knocked the guard out by slamming him into a wall.

Jack took the compass out of the guard's grasp and inspected it. The compass pointed towards the table. Jack took a moment to collect his stuff and moved back outside the room,
carefully going over the downed guard on his way out.

Deciding he attacked two guards too many for comfort, Jack decided that the best course of action would be to leave the castle immediately and find and means of escape.

It took Jack some time but finally he managed to find a side exit from the castle. He carefully peeped through the key hole to make sure there weren't any guards lurking about. Finding the coast clear, Jack twisted the door knob and…

Locked.

"Hmm… didn't think about that," Jack commented. He looked to his left. The hall was empty. He looked to his right. The hall from that side was empty as well. He unsheathed his sword and with the delicacy of a cannon, he jammed his sword into the key hole and broke it off.

It took Jack sometime to wade through the bizarre looking buildings while trying to avoid the equally bizarre looking townsfolk, but thankfully he managed to locate to edge of town. It was little to no surprise for Jack that instead of ocean, he was greeted with lush green fields. After all, he had been through weirder stuff.

Looking over the horizon, Jack detected a small dot in the sky. He stood there for a few minutes as the dot grew larger and more defined. Apparently, the dot was a ship, a flying ship. Jack rubbed his eyes a few times and looked again, the ship was still there. Jack then pulled a small bottle of emergency rum from his jacket. The cap was sealed.

His pondering was cut short as an explosion resonated throughout the entire city. Jack turned around and saw a pillar of smoke coming from the castle.

"Time for me to leave…"
