The sun dips below the horizon slowly, it last warm rays hitting my fur, tinting it orange. My eyes wander to the pink and orange sky above the horizon, with dark blue on the top. Tonight I plan to make a star map. I've been stargazing every night from my tower, planning tonight. The sky is going to be perfectly clear till 2 am, which a thunderstorm is scheduled for then.

I should be done waaay before then. Princess Celestia doesn't know I'm doing this, because I had to sneak out. When I asked to do it before, she told me I was much to young of a filly to be out that late, and I fell guilty for defying her, but I really want to do this. Besides she won't be mad when I show her the amazing star chart, right?

Okay the sun has now set, almost time to start. I watch in amazement as each little star twinkles into view. I start to jot down and take peaks through my telescope at the beautiful night sky. Wow this is great- A familiar scream pierces the night air and my quill falls into to the grass. "Starlight!"  It couldn't be... I jump up as the scream sounds again, full of terror. I try to sprint down the hill, towards the sound, but I fall and tumble down the hill cutting my right foreleg on a sharp rock as I roll.

At the bottom of the hill is a small valley, then another hill. When I stop rolling, about halfway across said valley, I stand up,slowly, and not putting much weight on my bleeding leg.I stumble down the alley towards where I think I heard the scream from. Every step is agony on my cut as it pulls and compresses with the pressure.

A small shed comes comes into view and Starlight's screams echo from it. I try to run, but the first step hurts so bad that I collapse falling face first. The grass gets soaked in blood from the wound, which is now searing in pain as the bloody mud soaks into it.

Time passes agonizingly slow, me hearing Starlight's screams as my vision. gets fuzzier. Am I dying? Sound of night intermingled with Starlight's screaming start to become muffled... I'm sorry Princess... I should have listened to you.

my world went black

Cold rain shocks me awake as I jolt up rain washing blood out of my lavender coat . The cold water both stings and soothes the wound, as it washes the blood soaked mud out. I cautiously look at it. With the mess washed out I see a still slightly bleeding gouge in my leg. It's not too long, but its deep. I try to stand up, and immediately fall back down with dizziness.

I groan as Starlight screams again... its 2 am and she's still screaming? Oh Celestia- whats happening to her. I close my eyes and try to shake the dizziness away- when a male voice behind me gasps. "Twi?- Is that you!" I turn my head squinting, and see a blurred blue and white figure, slightly bigger than me.

"Shining? I-is that you?" He rushes to my side. "Twilight- what happened to your leg?"  I slowly shake my head "not important right now- Something bad is happening to Starlight in th- th- that shed-thingie." I gesture loosely in the direction of it. He stares at it. "Shes there? I've been looking for her for hours... I've heard the screams..." He helps me up and keeps me standing as we approach the shed-thingie.

Shining pushes the door open and and a male unicorn turns to face us. His eyes widen and he teleports out.  

Starlight looks over, her eyes brimming with tears, a pool of blood around her. I try to rush over- but fall. Flat on my face. Again. Shining Pulls me up and rushes over to Starlight. "Star... he freezes looking at her slashed flank. "You- you got your cutie mark..." She smiles slightly at him. "Yeah, I'm not gonna die a blank flank... Tell mom and dad that I am an astronomer." She hums slightly.  His eyes widen. "NO! You will NOT die!" He tries to pick her up and put her on his back but falls over him self, landing in the growing pool of blood. She turns her head towards me, her eyes filling with tears "Live life for both of us- please I can feel myself fading now- just do it- Please, I love you Twilight" A choking sob takes me over. "I love you to Starlight"She smiles and her eyes become glassy.

I just watched my twin sister die.
