This story is silly, quick and easy to follow. I am not responsible for any missing brain cells when you finish reading it.

A Borg Drone is driven through a time portal. However, it is lurched away from its fellow drones in the process. Somehow in a place inhabited by inferior lifeforms. Or so it scans say so.

The drone pops into existence outside the city of Canterlot while both princesses are away on a diplomatic trip to the Zebra nations. The result is quite interesting.

Destination Unknown

Darkness, that's all the biological and technological eyes respectively could see. This drone had abruptly been separated from its hivemind. It no longer received signals from any communication servers. It's as if the entire ship had disappeared around the unit. Impossible, moments ago they were using the emergency time module to escape from:

Faction: United Federation of Planets (Hostile)
Species: Mixed/Human
Assimilation Priority: 152 of 592265

It felt a sense of falling. It engaged its motor functions, moving to the calculated squatting position to void any damage caused by a minor fall. But the drop ended without an impact. The unit's eyes were met with light that would have blinded a normal bipedal lifeform. The eyes of the drone were set to a lower brightness. Subsystem scans brought data of surroundings indicating a oxygen and pollen rich atmosphere.

>Visual orbs registering plantlife, star light (Day), planet, insects
>Sound receptors registering chirping
>Searching data...

>Designation bird No.12 of Earth, Sol

>Earth registered as federation hub
>Immediate Concealment program active

The drone quickly scanned it's eyes left and right. Seeing nothing but green fields. As it turned an almost 60 degree angle to the right it saw a large city carved into a mountain, the sun shining off the majestic towers and wall. It then had another though process. Coming up short of any known human architecture it reasoned that its location could not possibly be earth unless they had descended into the dark ages...Or it was sent back far enough into earths history that it was at an advantage.

>Immediate Concealment program deactivated

It walked toward the great city. It's eye zoom only reaching a low X4, unable to see any activity besides objects circling and moving this way and that. Registering them as a bird of some kind long extinct or unknown.

However as it grew closer to the city it saw something quite...Unexpected.

>Horse
>Negative, Pony
>Pony with wings
>Subspecies unknown...Documenting
>Pony Species 13-1

But before it could further add data to it's new folder it was surprised to see a horned pony on the wall in heavy golden armor. It had not noticed it at this distance and appeared to be levitating a small apple next to it's mouth.

>Pony Species 14-1
>Metal Armor - Thick
>Levitation technology, attempting to assimilate...
>Unable to assimilate without nanotechnology contact

It moved at a high walking speed now, the ponies on the wall taking notice at the striding drone. "Is that there a diamond dog?" The unicorn asked to his earthpony partner on the wall. "Nnn-op, never seen one with abuncha hoses and green lights on it before." Before they could ponder further or raise some sort of alarm the drone had reached the wooden door reinforced with metal.

>Obstruction detected
>Designated as gate
>Activating energy weapon systems

Raising it's arm it shot a green beam into the door, it made a rather hissing noise as it sliced through the thick wood. It only took seconds but it had left a half oval in the doorway and was walking into the city. It stepped into the city, it found many large eyes and backward facing ears. Accompanied by some small gasps and sounds of hoof-beats as some fled at the strange creature. "Hold it!" The unicorn mare from the wall said as she charged down the stone steps from the wall, halting a car length from the strange creature. "You just broke into the royal city of Canterlot without permission from the guard or proper notification!" The drone looked at her.

"We are the Borg. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile." It said without missing a syllable. The ponies stared. "Hey look here you! Ain't no one gonna 'adapt' to whatever the heck y-" She was cut off by the drone stepping forward, reaching out its arm and grasping at her left foreleg with a strong grip. "Hey let go!"

She tried to free her leg from it's grip, but the harder she tried to escape it's iron grasp the more it applied pressure. The armor she wore on the leg began denting in as it enforced it's grip. "Let the buck go! Help!" A green and black rectangle of metal and circuits the size of a I-Phone erupted from her left cheek. Follow by various different parts and augmentations. "S-sto- so, hmmm." She fell limp, her body continuously gaining more parts as the drone leg go of it's grip. "Resistance is Futile."

This was followed by the surrounding guards who had been dumb struck quickly form a phalanx of spears on the street leading deeper into the city. "All citizens should get out of here!" An officer barked at the back before being cut off by feminine pony voice cutting the air.

>Brain function reboot successful
>Up-linking to surrounding drones
>1 Drone detected...Connecting
>Database download success

"Resistance is Futile." The new pony drone stood next to the original. Both moving to walk toward the phalanx. A brave guard threw a spear from behind the wall of armor and spears. It made a crunching sound as it entered the original drone. It fell to the ground, the spear had hit and penetrated the skull. It did not get back up.

"Yeah! See? All the strange magic it's using is useless!" Another guard threw the spear confidently at the pony drone.

>Wood and metal projectile has rendered drone No.1 deactivated
>Adapting shield matrix

It harmlessly bounced off of a green field that slashed into existence like a rock hitting a lake. The drone was only a few meters from the wall before its left eye was replaced by a large robotic eye, streaming out a red beam of light wherever it looked.

Yes, crossover. Like it or don't. I don't doubt it's been done before. But if you like it please comment, I plan on keeping this the only chapter unless I hear SOMETHING.

But seriously, they aren't zombies!

"They have taken out the guards in the local area!" A guard was screaming at the nobles in-charge of the city. The large room of old farts was gathered to talk about the bit budget, but this random guard would burst into their meeting? How dare he! "Get out I say! I'll have you run out of the city!" Said a rather old mustached fellow.

The guard groaned. "If you would listen you would have heard the city is being attacked!" The head stallion noble snorted. "You said it was like what, four of them?" The guard took a deep breath before attempting to continue to talk. "They have some sort of magic, if they grab a pony it turns to whatever they are."

The nobles as one screeched "Zombies!" The entire room erupted in paper flying this way and that while over 30 old men ran in circles screaming like little girls. The guard simply gave up. "I'm going to take those darn things up on their offer to assimilate." He said while walking out shaking his head.

> Drone #67 Active
> Connecting to surrounding Drones
> Need for collective mind hub...Urgent, possible desync imminent

The drones had spread down the city, unicorn drones lost the ability to use magic, it had seemed the units could not augment nor adapt to use it.

"Resistance is futile." A drone halfheartedly claimed as it reached its hoof toward a Pegasus flying above. "Ha! You can't reach me you stupid...Metal. Yeah!" The Pegasus seemed happy with its insult and hovered many feet above the reach of the drones, who had a augmented left forehoof with a grabber similar to a human hand.

It reached out with it, a pulsing light emanated from the appendage. A gravity well, the Pegasus felt the pull almost immediately but had no time to react before being forced into a bear hug on the ground. His struggles and cries for help did nothing, he was a drone, caught. The augmentation and technology took him like all the other drones now marching down the street and into homes. It was spreading far too fast for any of the guard to figure a way to stop them.

The unicorn guards had succeeded in destroying 29 drones with all sorts of spells before the drones adapted to every single one. The guard and city residence were hard pressed to find new ways to take down these metallic monsters. "Stop!" Proclaimed a mare up the street, she had a mint coat, brilliant cyan mane and tail with a white streak, yellowed eyes, and a cutie mark of a lyre. "Where you creatures came from if you continue and our rulers return you'll have hell to pay!" She said as her horn began to glow impressively bright.

The drones all looked her way a moment due to the power surge.

>Subject shows high level of brain activity
>Possible Queen
>Assimilate

They as one marched toward her, the ones closest to her outstretching their augmented forelegs. However the mares horn increased in brightness before a magical shield appeared all along the street. Separating her and the drones.

>Obstruction composed of solid light detected
>Activating energy plates

The drones up at the shield then pressed their foreheads to it, a glow emanated from modules on the neck. The shield appeared to be simply absorbed in seconds into the drones. Most of them pumping a small cylinder out of the module, glowing with a faint energy.

"Crap." Was all she could mutter before she had to fire bolts of magic at them in various forms. She obviously knew some spells the guard did not have in their curriculum. "Stay back!" She yelled as drones fell to her spells, however short lived as they adapted to most of them rather quickly. She went to gallop away, guards showing up behind her, charging down the street with swords and spears in hoof and mouth. "To think I was just hired to entertain the prissy wissy boys up in the castle! They send me to fight!? Ugh!" She blared out as she ran off toward the castle.

The brawl in the street was short lived, mostly ending with the superior body strength of the Borg drones augmentations taking down any ponies that dared come in hoof range. However a pocket of the guards, skilled as seen by the silver rather than gold armor their counterparts wore were still in the fray. dodging this way and that while slashing through some of the incomplete drones.

"Hold out as long as you can, the messenger we sent to the princesses will inform them of the threat by sundown!" A large pony holding a battleaxe in his mouth roared a war cry before charging down the street, swinging into a stallion drone who had just then been converting a citizen on the ground. The ponies continued to fight for more than a minute before being overwhelmed by sheer number and strength.

>Drone #172 Active

The fighting was now widespread throughout the cities outer tiers. The drones were moving in packs of four to eight moving to infest the other ponies of the city. The guard was failing and the princesses were nowhere in sight. With the nobles barricaded in the castle with the most skilled of the guard it was a failing battle in the city. Ponies screamed as they fled from the other gates, moving to the surrounding landscape and cities to escape the threat that Canterlot had on it's shoulders.

The infectious drones roamed free for another two hours before the pegasus holding the letter of urgent importance reached the princesses in Zebraca, only then did the sun lower and a bright red moon appeared in the sky. The stars were brighter than usual, the royal sisters were furious and anyone with knowledge of them cowered that night. Griffin and Changeling alike hid, worried it was them that had caused the night sky to turn blood red.

Wrath was coming.

Author's Notes:

Any and all spell check and grammar mistakes are welcome in the comments. I am unable to see them myself as my brain has this habit of just skimming something I wrote rather than looking with a critical eye.

If you've come two chapters in the story then don't stop there. Read my other...More serious story, although it's in a bad state from me having no one to spell check or edit for me. If your even a bigger friendo then follow me! What if I finish this thing and you stop reading my stuff? What if my next story will be just as interesting?

Or you could just read and write me off as a groveling idiot.

The Night's Fury

What would you risk to stay individual?

"We need to be swift, but I fear I'll need to stop at camp trotting horn." Said a white coated alicorn, swiftly beating her wings alongside her midnight blue counterpart. "I fear not sister, I will not allow the slaughter of our ponies mere weeks after the changeling event." Luna said with a regretful tone.

"You must make the stop at the camp, with the support of some trained fighters we can fight whatever these strange creatures are." Luna looked over with a huff. "Your own ponies are turning into walking weapons controlled by something not of this time nor planet. I would have heard."

Sighing, the larger of the two broke off in the direction of the camp. She called out as she departed. "Do not be harmed until I return."

The drones had taken most of the city in the hours before midnight, the sky was streaked red and the drones were making their way to the castle. Now a haven for the remaining ponies, guards and nobility.

It was heavily barricaded, metal sheets and huge timbers holding the doors inside closed. Pegasai and wall guards trying to hold back the storm from the walls.

Lyra stood in the high court chambers filled with the old farts and a number of the cities higher class. Lyra was in the middle of a dialogue. "I don't care how much you think they are zombies! They are showing sights of planning, tactics even! This isn't some Zebra bio weapon, they came toward me at once when they saw my magic. We need to get out of here, they will find a way to work around your little defense!" One of the stuffy rich ones immediately responded. "Let the princesses save us from these zombies, you know nothing about them." Lyra angrily sighed before marching off to sulk. "We are all done for."

A changeling was backing up against an alley way surrounded by more than 17 drones. It appeared he had already been in contact with a drone but his shell had protected him from any nano-tech. "Stay back! My queen will cook you as a cabab on her horn!" The ling looked desperate, his wings were slightly torn from whatever combat he was in.

It was a quick demise as he threw hoof and fang at them in a furious martial art known only to the infiltrators. As he fell in glorious combat his final words rang out in the mind of the whole hive in the wasteland. "I die fighting for my queen!"

The thought process of the drones was interrupted when their power detectors went off the charts. Swiveling their heads to look their robotic eyes zoomed in on the source.

A Lunar Princess flew over the sky, tears streaming down her face that was contorted in a huge, rage filled snarl. The moon turned a much darker red, feeling its owner's anger and dread. The royal canterlot voice flew on the wind with righteous fury. "Let my ponies free and I may make your deaths less painful!" With that she dove toward the ground with a flaring horn, her eyes and aura emanating true darkness, black almost literally oozing out of the alicorn of the night.

Author's Notes:

Yeah, stuff going down.

Queen Luna

Would you die before you lost it?

The streak of dark energy coming from the furious alicorn was rivaled in the power of a comet. It had the look to match, Luna was obviously on the very edge of cracking emotionally. She had small sections of her body steaming out a black color, half her face looking like a sick version of nightmare moon,

>Threat Level is Maximized
>Initiate self-preservation directive.

The drones rapidly took cover in buildings and alleyways, raising their eyes to the dark clouds and red moon. The alicorn was a half Km from the ground moving rapidly. Looking as if she intended to blast the city with the impact.

That wasn't far off, she impacted the ground with a thunderous force. A indent of the cable stone where she stood, a ring of dark cloud like magic washed over the city in a violent ring.

The wave passed over the remaining drones with no effect besides the visible fizzing of their shields. The initial threat was averted.

>Assimilation Priority 1 of 5

The drones trotted toward the landing area, thermal implants in the mechanical eyes active for any sign of the princess. "Would you attack the city of the daughters of Faust?!" The booming voice was heard from the mini crater in the street.

A blur of blue and black moving at speeds that blurred to a normal equine eye blazed a path to the center of the city market. An open space filled with fragile wooden stalls and various goods.

The drones surrounded the market and closed in, still searching for their target. A large crash was heard in the north area followed by a stream of data.

>Connection to Drone #34,643 lost
>Connection to Drone #12,003 lost

The market filled with black fog, smokey in nature but dark as the worst nightmare. A shape standing atop a stall in the center of the market spread it's wings, rearing its head in a snarling howl of pain and anger.

"Let free my ponies!" The fog disappeared as a the wave from her voice blew it away. The drones stood stock still while rapidly analyzing this creature, it did not fit the description of Princess Luna in any of the assimilated pony's memories.

>Armor of Unknown compound detected
>Melee based weapon
>Identified as Halberd of unknown compound

>Feral adaptation has been identified

The drones in the market numbered the Thousands. The drones moved to take down the stall. A large one galloping into the stall, using brute size to make the structure collapse under her feet.

Luna attempted to take flight with her wings only to be tackled by multiple pegasai drones. Along with some on the ground making use of the mini-gravity wells...Tractor beams, whatever.

She hit the ground hard. Her weapon swinging and slashing into drones attempting to hold her down to inject nano machines.

>Nanotechnology ineffective
>Immune system fueled by *UNKNOWN*
>Emotions tied to discrepancy.

The drone fired small canisters with small needles protruding from the front into the fighting warrior. She was quickly tiring and whatever was now in her veins was causing her to wobble. Her sight was blurring as she vainly swung the halberd with her magic before it sparked out and she fell to the ground with groggy eyes, her body returning to its usual coat.

The moon wept

As she lost sight for what she thought was the last time a slow walking drone walked up, kneeling down to look her in the eyes. "Resistance was Futile." It said. "I am drone two." It said before reaching out its augmented hoof and extended twin lengths of black metal into the princess's neck.

The night was ending, the city had pockets of neon green light emanating from newly formed buildings. The Castle was noticeably still wearing it's torch yellow light, ponies on the walls fighting with arrow and rock to keep the storm out. It would not last.

The market was much different than a number of hours before, the ground littered with discarded armor pieces surrounding a sphere 20 meters in diameter with a noticeable door. Inside resided the Queen of The Borg, a biological and technological feat. She had pale blue skin, her original eyes remained. "The collective will not augment what reminds me of my old nature." She had said before having the small building built to harbor her as she controlled the now thriving legions of Borg drones.

"She has not lowered the moon, but the sun must come up..." Celestia was flying alongside a rather huge hoard of golden armored ponies. All looked quite eager to get to the city in the distance as they marched. "Princess." General Bad Wolf muttered before he asked the obvious question. "Is Luna immortal?" The princess's eye widened, looking down at the daring general. Would he ask her of one of the most sacred secrets of equestria? "General, you took an oath to guard equestria and its secrets yes?" He looked at her while he cantered. "Yes my Princess."

"Then you will not ask that question again." The princess said as she took to the sky with her brilliant white wings. Pulling out a quill and parchment from a invisible pocket for storage she had created many thousands of years ago out of magic. She began writing.

"Dear my most faithful student, I know it has only been recently since the changeling attack on Canterlot and I'm sure you and your companions are tired. But I have grave need of you at Canterlot as of now. A new threat has almost enveloped the city. The elements are being kept in the chambers of the celestial wing of the castle. Myself and many a legion of the E.U.P. Guard* are heading to form a path to the castle to get them back.

I will need you and the girls to meet me on grazalda hill outside the city within the next two hours, you can't miss the shimmering armor. Please make hast."

With a wisp of magic the letter was gone, not even sealed. "Sister, what have you done?" Celestia reared her head, making a snapping motion down, the moon lowering into the sky. Then moving it slowly up, the sun raising over the horizon as she flew toward her city, along with the might of one of the largest gatherings of military might in the last hundred years.

"Twilight what do you mean I need to go?" A pink maned mare with a bunny hugging to her left hoof said as a lavender mare of equal height stood there, mane frazzled and a letter hanging from her magic beside her. "We need to go to Canterlot right now!" The mare in the doorway snorted. "I can't grizzly the bear needs his back cracked this morning or it'll get sore tomorrow." She explained softly. "Fluttershy it's very important, the capitol is under attack and the Princess needs our help with the elements!"

The pegasus was eeping the whole way as she was dragged by a purple aura toward the residence of a rainbow maned pegasus. "Now fly up there and wake her up! I need to get pink-" She was cut off by a rather pink mare popping out of a gofer hole Twilight could have sworn was not there a second ago. "Who did you need?" She asked, almost certainly playing ignorance. "Wa? Nothing, go get Rarity, I need to get to uhh..." She was stumped, who was her last friend again?* "Oh right, Applejack." She said before galloping off.

The mares had congregated at the library by the time a second letter arrived explaining that the city had been occupied by a strange force that could take control of ponies it can in contact with. The princess warned that any encounter of the creature should be treated as life or death. Avoid and run at all costs. "We need to go now! The princess needs us there in almost 50 minutes!" The group nodded as they headed in the direction of the train station. "Uh, twiligh, I think we should be fixin to be galloping, don't think the train runs at four thirty in the mornin, or is going to a city under attack."

"Right!" Exclaimed the flustered purple mare. "Down the road it is!" Behind her a blue colored pegasus moaned. "It's way too early for this, uncool."

Author's Notes:

Chapter done, I was able to find time to work on it outside of my clan priorities. Two more are definitely planned, though it is not final that they are all that remain. My planned story timeline is reaching its end and I'm feeling like this is a cheapskate way to end the story.

"The elements destroyed all the evil yay!" Bleh, I've been thinking of a few paths to take differently, but not to worry. The story does still have the necessary story development before the climax coming. The ending in of itself will be hard to work is all.

Thoughts? Strange comments that will make me cringe in pain or curiosity?

The city of Drones

The trip to the hill overlooking Canterlot was populated by multiple thousands of troops adorned with gold armor. Though some with darkly colored blue armor could be seen, fangs and bat wings on pegasai.

"There they are." Celestia exclaimed when she she saw her student and friends approaching. The
Princess dropped from the fluttering position over the camp to meet them. "I thought you weren't coming!" She said loudly before remembering herself and composing herself.

"I mean, your late." The student looked up at her teacher a moment, she never acted so anxious before. But them the city was never in as much danger as she made out...Wait, something is wrong! "Where is Luna?" The princess froze. "Err, I don't know. She charged into the city when she heard it had been attacked instead of following my approach. I haven't seen her."

The situation looked dire from outside the city, the walls were ensnared in black metal and green light. Even hints of movement inside the dark material. Ponies of metal with red beams coming from their eyes were seen roaming the walls and sky from the hill. "This is unlike anything I've ever seen..." Celestia was in shock, what magic did this to her subjects? Discord? No, this was organized, controlled. Her thoughts were interrupted by Twilight "That sort of looks like Stalliongrad's armored carriage prototype armor..."

The princess inhaled sharply. "Very different my student." She pulled her eyes from the city, looking to her student. "You may not see if from here, but the ponies you see on the walls are old residence of Canterlot, they seem to being controlled by that metal." Twilight looked over with shocked eyes. "What?!" She quickly turned her head to the city, her horn glowing as she concentrated on an old magnification spell from years ago. The shock in her eyes was apparent. "T-that can't be, I see Fancy Pants..." A startling yelp from Rarity interrupted further examination.

After quite awhile spent on calming down Rarity the group now understood the severity of the situation. "We are ready to make our move to take the elements princess. Whatever is going on the elements can do the job." The rest of the group save Rarity all looked up to the Princess with sure eyes. "Hearts stronger than horses." Celestia muttered before raising her head. "Bad Wolf! Get ever here, we need to plan our insertion into the...

The hind populated with unicorn in circles looking to all channel their magic into a singular orb.

"I hope we can save these ponies before we destroy them..." Twilight fretted. The princess looked over to her. "We cannot save them without the elements, this is part of our plan. Chapter out. Set up done. Any comments heavily welcome, if you think something is off don't refrain from sharing. Did I hit a nail on the head? Tell me, this story is a primary avenue to improving future stories.

The Battle of Grazalda Hill

The forces of both sides clashed in sword and augmentations. The fighting started in Melee but soon after the first sword swings beams of light began coming from the hill, fired by the Mage circles on the hills and ground. The occasional slow moving ball of light flying up and then into the crowd of drones like mortars.

The drones in battle were unable to stop the beams and shells of energy from above. It carried too many varying signatures from all the mages. It was so overloading that they even had trouble with simple metal swords. The battle played out rather in favor of the ponies, led by a general Bad Wolf, who fought in the fray.

He could be seen in the middle if the fray in silver armor, a drone was impaled on his spear, struggling to try and inject the general with the two nozzles new fully extended from its hoof. The general threw the spear down, stabbing at the drone's head. The shield around the drone fizzled into visibility before giving out as if it was butter to the sword. The drone stopped moving as it stabbed through the skull, a squirt of dark red liquid coming from the skull. Not blood, but looking very similar.

The general had pulled his sword out of the dead drone with his mouth and held it in a side slashing fashion as he looked up, his sword shimmering, blue colored runes where visibly pulsing on it.

That's when the Queen visibly became strained back in her chamber that had now expanded into a large cubical hub of activity. She was using all possible within her power to understand this object. Couldn't remove a faulty lob? A shield? Now their weapons? All pulsed and had the aura of the same energy...But ever changing, it did not stay the same, even from sword to sword it was different. One would have a higher frequency in sound when swinging, one would glow a red color instead of blue. But the subtle changes almost entirely gave off that when it actually came in contact with her drones that it was an entirely different thing! Each 'Spell' and weapon had its own personality!

The battle continued with the drones only putting up a small resistance. The ponies were like a roman legion, moving with vicious ferocity like a meat grinder. The armor they wore would pulse blue when the nozzles of the drones would attempt to break into the casing. One drone visibly snarled before collapsing at the back of the pack of drones.

The guard had taken the entire area, they pushed the drone hoard to the wall of the city, trapped. The drones had not taken a step back the whole battle, but had rather been killed before stepped over. The casualties in the guard were minimal, drones falling with ease.

The final pocket of drones outside the wall were cornered in, only fifty or so, they all stood stock still looking at the advancing hoard of armored ponies. One drone stepped forward. "Lower your shields, explain their inter-workings. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." Drone was met with a spear right through the skull, the rest of them stood still. Looking at the hoard with no emotion, but not attacking.

"If they stay still we could save them after the fact with the elements princess! Don't order the killing!" Twilight was overlooking the battle from a roofless carriage pulled by two guards, also sitting alongside Celestia. "It would be a much larger risk then I'm prepared to make..." Twilight thought a moment. "Can't we just shield them up with some mages? The princess looked at her student with thoughtful eyes. "That would put a time limit to making it to the castle. We can't jus-...Well." She lowered her brow. "I estimate an hour or so before our mages would run out of juice. That is if we only use a minimal amount to continue inside with some left."

The shield was deployed, the army of armor and fur moving into the city through the now taken city gate, a huge aerial battle fought above the now war strewn streets of the city. Celestia could be seen occasionally shooting a bolt of magic into a drone from the crowd of guards making a spearhead for the castle. "Move it! Go! We only need to make it past this tier before the secondary wall! It even looks like it's still being held!"

The castle walls were occupied by extremely tired looking ponies. Including some armored unicorns sweating as they held a shield over the walls. Drones seemed to be standing outside, staring at the wall with blank expressions. "We are so close!" Cried a guard before being tackled from the air by a drone, his cries drowned out by the aerial bombardment of pegasi drones. Twilight and her friends went to form a circle, Twilight deploying a purple shield of energy.

A scream was heard from behind the pack of now combat busied guards. A large, pale mass of machine and limp eternal mane. "Luna!?" The cry was from Celestia as she saw her sister impaling a guard from behind into his back with her horn. She shoved the body off with her hoof before meeting her eyes with Celestia. "Who is Luna?" The Queen put on a fake grin, taunting the Sun princess with her ignorance to the now...Non-existent host of the body she resided in.

Is the world worth living in if all you do is think like every other intelligent creature? A drop of water in a bucket.

Author's Notes:

The actual talking drone was used due to pony tech and communication not exactly being "compatible" with their hails.

Chapter done, it looks like I'll need one more chapter and ending chapter if necessary. Have nice day.

The Love of a Sister

Living is worth as much as you want it to be. Resist the urge to be that drop, fight to be something new.

The Queen lunged at Celestia on powerful legs, whipping her head to plunge her horn in the sun princess. Only to be stopped by multiple guards grabbing at her with their hooves, shoving her back. Her face kept calm and she began to kick and inject with her nozzles, aiming for the opening by the necks and legs in the armor.

She was truly powerful in combat, smashing her left forehoof into a guards face, his nose bleeding as he stumbled back before being attacked from a pegasi drone. "Princess this isn't going well!" Yelled the captain of the guard squad as he was shoved to the ground by a stallion drone with a muscular build. But the words fell on deaf ears, the sun princess was stuck staring with watery eyes at her sister. She was slaughtering and 'assimilating' their subjects that she so dearly cared about. How could this be? How did they take her?

The roaring torrent of flame was only brief, but when the drones and guards alike looked back to see where it had come from all they saw was a pure golden and yellow alicorn. Her eyes flaming and streaming, tears barely formed evaporating away. Her religa melting onto the ground at her feet, snarling expression speaking volumes where words could not be said.

The code in The Queen's mind sucked away, the entire collective disappeared from her consciousness. When she tried to run a scan of why nothing responded, she was unable to feel any of the machinery in her mind. Then it hit her in a wave, it registered in her organic body, a searing hot pain. Her organic eye came into focus, right in front of her was the princess of sun in her blind fury shooting the literal flames of the sun into the Queen's body. Then the pain.

"Graaa!" She screeched as mechanical parts fried from the heat, her own body searing in agony but not dieing. She was immortal to such heat and flame. Though the details of other such things where a mystery to her.

The pain stopped, her eye looked about frantically. Around her were cowering guards and Princess Celestia, no longer flaming with anger but held her crying her in her hoofs. The surrounding drones were standing still, some even looking with shocked expressions. Wait...They had shocked expressions, they showed a facial gesture. Then the third and final shock hit Luna, the mechanical parts had melted away, being replaced by organic parts. Her body was regenerating. Her mind was mending, she could think outside the collective. She was no longer held in the chains that had held her, that horrible time all spent in the Frontal Lobe of her mind. Personality held dearly. Only a small amount of magic to cast a ward over it before being taken.

But it was only a second she could think like that before the Queen's consciousness flashed back. "You think you can retake this mind!? You belong to the collective, you lead it! You cannot stop what will come!" But Luna smacked back with the power of the canterlot voice, inside her mind and out her physical mouth. "I will not conform to the evil you offer me!" She then went limp, eye shutting and voice dieing out.

The rest of the drones around her seemed to uncut from the shock, some wearing faces of pain and others staying blank. The pained ones fell to the ground, screaming out such things as. "Free! I'm OK!" While others began to walk toward the guards, attempting to assimilate them as normal drones should. It is spectated that when Luna was freed that the shock of code she was sending being interrupted by rational thought at the same time as the connection loss shattered and crashed the mechanical parts in them.

Luna was carried out of the city, the battle raged as Celestia gallantly led her ponies to the Castle now cheering with relief.

The elements retrieved and the bearers escorted to use them. "It's time girls, this mess will be over once we activate them." Applejack looked over at Rainbow Dash. "Think we'll ever learn what these things are? I mean they'll probably be destroyed." Rainbow Dash looked over at her. "Nope, don't care. It's not cool to take control of ponies minds, so lets just get this over with." The elements were deployed and a orb formed about the six. It expanded through the city, dissolving away the mechanical parts of drones and free'd ponies alike. Organic body parts instantly regrowing to look like the old pony they were. The spell even seemed to encompass dead drones. Rising to their hooves in the dark gunk that was the equivalent to Borg blood.

"From the moment the invaders arrived, breathed our air, assimilated and conquered, they were doomed. They were undone, in Faust's wisdom she gave us two powerful and protective rulers. Both have showed great courage this day, one internally and the other was able to destroy what would have destroyed us." The speech was from the mouth of a metal decorated General Bad Wolf as he stood on a podium surrounded by royal guards in the castle gardens. The crowd forward of him and the Princesses and Elements to his back on a balcony. "May we never need to kill our own in the name of saving them again, the creature that has been labelled 'Patient Zero' is being held in the dungeon. So far he shows no sign of coming back from whatever their version of death is." He stepped down as the Royal sisters flew down to the stage, wings flapping. Luna had regained her dark-blue color and mane.

"This morning I was forced to do something I had hoped I would never need to do again after the return of my dear sister." Celestia explained. "I had to lower the moon, but this afternoon my sister is back with us. I will lower the sun and she will raise her beautiful moon." She looked to her sister with a smile. "But before we do this I would like to announce that I have added a metal that can be awarded to non-military. The Red Moon, this will be given to any who had worked during our crysis to protect the castle. It is the sixth highest honor you can be awarded as a citizen at this time. Falling behind the Golden Hydra and in front of the Phoenix Head." The crowd pounded their hoofs to the ground in applause.

Individuality is the gift of god, praise him for it, and fight to protect it from society.
