CHAPTER 1: GRATITUDE OF LIFE
---------------------------------------------------
Cloudsdale has been preparing for a huge storm down in Equestria to exhale some of the work hold from the past few weeks of the beginning of Spring. It wasn’t a surprise for Rainbow Dash and the Pegasus race has already moved the water from the ground to Cloudsdale a week ago. Nature’s course must take its place sometime soon. Back down in Ponyville, the ponies were happy and enjoying their day as it goes on. The fillies have just gotten out of school, everypony in town has eaten lunch already; everything was so peaceful.
One pony was running around in joy getting home to his wonderful family right by the oh-so-famous Sugarcube Corner. His name was Blakey, a strong and bright stallion unicorn. Blakey wasn’t any average unicorn who used magic. His mane was dark blue, and his coat was white with assortments of bright peachy colored patterns, similar to Zakora. His flank had the symbol of the legion of the Leapers, which was simply just a frog with a lightning strike as the background. Blakey was blessed by with a gift from the goddesses in which Equestrians call the Leapers. Leaper is one who can use their hooves to jump tremendous distances, possess excellent dexterity and speed, and the ultimate daredevil mind. Legends say every generation, the goddess passes down powers to at least one pony. There are limitless possibilities of what each pony can possess, but Blakey possesses the power of a leaper.
Blakey doesn’t hesitate to use his powers ever since he discovered it when he was just a little colt. He would jump from wall to wall, roof to roof, anything possible. His speed was just as fast as the fastest Pegasus in Equestria. Hell if Blakey knew any better he would be able to challenge the Wonderbolts in a ground versus air match, but there wasn’t any importance to challenges. All he wanted to do with his power was to live a successful life as a pony in Ponyville and have a loving and caring family, which is no little from what his current life is right now.
Blakey landed on his hooves from rebounding off a wall right in front of Sugarcane Corner to see Pinkie Pie bouncing up and down with her saddlebag on her. She stopped right in front of me and smiled and said “Hi Blakey! How was work today? You look as happy as always!”
Blakey smiled and delightfully replied “Oh Pinkie same-old-same-old. I’m just happy I finally get to go home to my family and relax.”
Pinkie tilted her head and said “You’re always happy to see your family though. Family is extremely important though so you’ve got the right attitude! Have a cupcake Blakey I made it myself.” Pinkie took out a cupcake wrapped up in a plastic bag and handed it to Blakey. Blakey took the cupcake by the hoof, unwrapped it, and took a huge bite.
“Mighty delicious as always Pinkie-dear, I better get going though. Thanks for the cupcake! “Blakey mumbled as he chewed the mouthwatering strawberry frosted cupcake. Pinkie smiled and hopped away.
Blakey cartwheeled his way to his home and stopped right at the front step and took the spare key right from under the welcome mat and unlocked the door, opening it and bounced right in.
“Galaxy, Candy Corn, you home?” the stallion yelped from the door. Without hesitation a young little filly runs through the living room door and jumps on Blakey. The little filly had a bright yellow coat and a dark yellow mane, yet was just a simple blank flank.
“Daddy! You’re home!” Candy Corn screamed in joy. She glomped Blakey rigorously as much as she could ignoring the fact that she might suffocate her father.
“Hi Candy-cakes, how was school today?” Blakey said as he hugged back Candy Corn.
“It was boring… but I made you a necklace!” Candy Corn let go of Blakey followed by him and she ran to her saddlebag and pulled out a rainbow necklace that had little blocks of letters and numbers that said ‘B E S T D A D E V A’ leaped joyfully back to her father and showed him the necklace.
“Oh my… Best Dad Ever, eh?” Blakey started to blush as he slowly took the necklace from the filly’s mouth. “Guess who’s the best daughter ever?”
“Me!” Candy Corn jumped onto Blakey glomping him as twice as hard this time.
“I take it Candy has showed you her gift Blakey-poo?” said a mare walking into the room noticing the affection from the two ponies.
“Galaxy… looking as precious as always” Blakey passionately said. Galaxy was an earth pony who worked around the shopping areas of Ponyville. She had a long purple mane with a navy blue coat. Her cutie mark was a constellation of Taurus as the foreground, and several stars surrounding it as it’s background. Her wisdom has the courage and strength to give any moral support and hope for anypony in Ponyville, though she doesn’t really get out much.
Blakey, Galaxy, and Candy Corn all sat down for dinner and had a pleasant talk about their current lives, a traditional family dinner nonetheless. After dinner they talked a bit more, played a bit of Candy Land together, and then it became late. Blakey noticed Candy Corn sleeping on the floor. Trying to resist the uncontrollable cuteness from the little filly, Blakey put her on his back, walked to her bedroom and tucked her straight in.
A little voice came out of Candy Corn’s Mouth. “Daddy…?” Candy Corn whispered.
“Yes?” Blakey whispered as he gently stroked Candy Corn’s mane.
“You’ll be my daddy forever right?”
“…of course I will. I will love you no matter what, nothing will ever change little one. Go to sleep you have school tomorrow.” Blakey kissed Candy Corn’s forehead and walked slowly out of her room into his master bed room to see his wife already in bed resting. He climbed straight into bed and tucked himself right in the covers and moved towards Galaxy.
“Hun, do you hear rain?” Blakey whispered into Galaxy’s ear.
“Yeah I do, Rainbow Dash told Ponyville that the storm was going to hit tonight.” Galaxy replied.
“Oh well… a little rain won’t hurt. Goodnight my love.”
“Good night hun.”

Thunder roared throughout Equestria for hours. The sound of it grew closer and louder that even in the middle of the night, every pony near Sugarcube Corner could hear Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake crying, especially for Blakey.
Blakey’s eyes slowly branched open at the sound of thunder, and rain droplets with a sound of babies crying next door. Blakey got out of bed and slowly went to the kitchen to go make a cup of coffee. On his way he passed by Candy Corn’s room noticing an unpleasant breeze coming out of the peak of the door which was used to shed a bit of light onto Candy Corn’s room.
Blakey slowly opened the door with his hoof assuming that she was still in there fast asleep and the window just opened by its own. As he looked around her room she noticed that her bed was empty. No sign of Candy Corn anywhere. Blakey immediately turned on the light and searched the room again.
In his indoor voice. “Candy Corn?”
In his outdoor voice. “Candy Corn?!”
And then in his ‘I just won the Pony Express Lottery’ voice. “CANDY CORN!?!?”
Galaxy stormed out of the room and ran as quickly towards Blakey again. Galaxy walked past Blakey and looked straight at his face and asked in panic “What happened!?”
Blakey looked her straight in the eye and said “Look around the house. NOW!”
Galaxy stormed out of the room and checked every corner, every room, and every place possible for a little filly to fit through. Blakey walked to the open window and looked down outside to see if Candy Corn fell through the window. No sign of her.
Galaxy walked back in with tears riding down her face. She grabbed her husband with force using both hooves and shook him as hard as she could. “WHERE’S MY BABY!?!?”
Blakey felt the same way as she did and grabbed onto her too. “I DON’T KNOW! OH MY GOD WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING NOW!” Blakey’s heart was beating as fast as Pinkie on a sugar rush.
Blakey slammed his head against Candy Corn’s bed and started to cry. But when he opened his eyes he noticed a piece of paper right under the pillow. Blakey pulled out the letter and read it out loud. Galaxy walked slowly towards Blakey.
“IF YoU wANt TO SeE UR FILLy AGaiN, CoME TO ThE EnTRANCe oF thE EvRFrEE FoREST.”
The note was made with a collage of letters of what seemed to be cut out of a Pony’s Illustrated Magazine and poorly made with a glue stick of some sort. Blakey stared at the paper for a moment as another tear drop rolled down his cheek. The enragement of his pure mind went from 0% to 100% in less than a second. Galaxy became scared out of her mind.
