Chapter 1: Ponies of the Wasteland

It was a nice spring day, the sun shone brilliantly in the sky, and fluffy white clouds floated in the sky like never falling snowflakes, none the same. The mane six sat in a nearby plateau filled with flowers that made the ground look like it was part of the rainbow. It added a sweet sent of the honeysuckles filled the air. Everypony was at peace with one another, not even chaos could find it's way...or could it?

Twilight was preparing to use an advanced version of the teleportation spell she learned in one of the books she found in the old castle at the very center of the Everfree forest. What her plan was...to teleport to Canterlot and back. To she proof she would even bring back a hat Rarity wanted while they were there for Twilight's coronation.

Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Apple Jack, Fluttershy, and even Pinkie Pie sat in front of Twilight as she demanded for everypony NOT to move. Only birds around Fluttershy made any noise, it was so quiet. Even a leaf falling from the steam of a flower landing on grass could be heard as Twilight prepared her teleportation spell.

Twilight stood in place feeling the spring breeze slither through her mane, her heart beat, slow, she was calm. She had to let her mind be free, free to roam, free from any other thought than being in Canterlot. Her home was where she was born and raised, and back to her new home with her friends and where she grew to love them as sisters. Her breathing nearly matched her pulse as she counted in her head. 'One...two...one...two...' Over again she breathed. 'One...two...one...two...' Finally she could do it.

Her horn started to glow brightly, nearly blinding the ponies around her. Her magic started to build up rapidly into her horn, so much in fact that the magic turned into liqud as it spewed out. At this point she knew her magic wouldn't hold, but she had to keep going. She wanted to show how powerful she became to her friends.

MORE magic started to build up, heat built up around her, and more magic became liquid, burning the grass where the many drops of the liquid landed. Two flashes of light annoucned the other two princesses teleported, Rarity looked back, putting her hoof to her face.

'What is she doing Rarity?' Celestia asked telepathically to Rarity.

'She's trying to do a long distance teleportation spell.'

Luna looked at Celestia with worry in her eyes.'Sister, we don't think this is safe. The magic is so intence, we've felt it in our tower.' She noted.

Celestia nodded, looking back at Rarity.'Why is she doing this? The level of magic building up hasn't been felt in a five-hundred years. It's extremely dangerous for her to do this.'

Rarity shrugged. 'I wasn't aware, maybe she knew?'

Waves of magic pulsed from Twilight, nearly pushing the ponies and the two princesses back a few feet. Even Spike struggled to hang on to Rarity.

'Sister! We must stop this...NOW! Luna ordered.

'Lulu, we can't if we even tried. The magic is to unstable at this point. I'm not sure if her body will handle this spell.' Celestia said, even her voice in her head to Luna and Rarity sounded worried. 'Mother of me...she's about to do it!'

Another wave of magic pulsed, pushing back the mane six, but were soon stopped by Celestia's magic. The wave pushed on farther to the surrounding trees, cutting most of them down. At least ten rows of trees were cut exactly in half.

"EVERYPONY! BRACE YOURSELVES!" Celestia shouted.

Twilight heard her voice. 'NO!' She thought, her silence was broken, the spell went wrong. A strong magical force pulled Twilight into a black space. Soon she blacked out, no longer knowing where she was.

Ponies of the Wasteland

"So when I told her I when I came back from the other camp, I would take her on a nice date." A pegasus said, flying above his earth pony friend.

"Really?" He asked. "Because I thought we couldn't go to the other camp unless we find a pony."

The pegasus sighed. "Oh...crap...Well, I'm sure this time we'll find...a...alicorn?"

"Alicorn?" He asked, looking at the pegasus. "Where?"

"There! That lavender one two clicks out!"

"Then lets go! Finally! We get to go back to the capitol!" The earth pony shouted in rejoice.

Swiftly the earth pony ran, the pegasus flew double his speed. They were happy that they found a pony, happier that they found an alicorn, the first to be found, ever. They raced each other to Twilight who lay unconscious.

When they reached her, the earth pony rested his head on her chest. He sighed lightly, looking at his friend in the air.

"So?" The pegasus asked him. "Is she alive?"

"Yeah, still in limbo though. You wonder how long she's been here?"

"No clue, how warm is the ground around her?"

"Let me check." He said, rubbing his hoof on the dark green grass. He laughed. "Any moment now."

"HELLO!" The pegasus shouted.

Twilight's eyes shot open, she breathed rapidly, she panicked as she shot her head left and right. She saw the earth pony, and the pegasus with looks of confusion on their faces.

"WHERE AM I!?" Twilight asked, still in shock. "WHERE! AM! I!?"

"Whoah! Calm down Alicorn, are you hurt?" The earth pony asked calmly.

Twilight shook her head, listening to the pony. "No, I'm not..."

"That's great!" He said. "Let introduce myself. I'm  Front Line, and this is my partner in crime Delick."

"Front Line, Delick...?"

"Yes?" They asked.

"Where am I?"

"Delick, come down here."

"Right!" He replied as he landed. "Welcome to the Kingdom of Lost Souls, where we've been banished for no reason whatsoever!"

Front knocked Delick upside his head. "Tell her the truth, or I will."

"Fine..." Delick sighed. "We've been banished here by breaking the rules of reality, a plane where those rules don't exist, but do at the same time. You've entered here doing the same."

"What'd I do?!" Twilight asked.

"What's the last thing you remember before you woke up by my friend over here?" Front Line asked calmly. "You must know."

"I was preparing to do a long distance teleportation spell to Canterlot, then I heard Celestia's voice. Then I woke up here."

Front Line started to laugh heavily along with Delick their large bodies rolled in the dark green grass. Twilight sat in front of them, confused on why her welcomers were laughing at her reason. She stood up, and tried to teleport, but her horn blasted her backwards.

"Can't do that here Alicorn." Delick said. "You can teleport, but not home. You're banished until the end of time."

"Why!?" Twilight asked.

"Because you broke a law that was never to be broken, just like my friend here." Front Line answered her. "Oh, forgot to ask. What's your name?"

"Twilight Sparkle, princess of Magic." Twilight replied.

"Well Twilight, we can either come with us to the capitol, or you can stay here to die."

"We need to hurry, night fall is coming." Delick noted.

"What happens after sunset?"

"We'll explain if you come with us."

"Fine, it's not like I've got any other choice."

"GREAT!" Front Line said.

Chapter 2: Capitol of Kols

Twilight knew she wasn't good at accepting what was right in front of her. After her arrival in the strange new world, waking to two very strange ponies, and followed them to their home. She had no idea why, but one thing was for sure is that something awful roamed in the night.

She walked close behind the two larger ponies. They were at least a foot taller than Celestia was. They laughed as they told stories of their lives in the new world, but didn't say why they arrived, or how they got to find her. The place was barren except the grass, and occasional fresh water lake, there was nothing.

"How did you find me?" Twilight finally asked after what seemed like two hours of not talking. "This world is so vast, empty, how could of you have found me?"

"Easy, pegasi can spot things easily from far away. Plus you stand out like a sore hoof." Delick replied. "You're freaking lavender!"

"Calm down Delick, she has the right to ask questions." Front Line said.

"Yeah, by the way, you never answered my question where you found me." She noted.

"You really want to know?" He asked. "When I said those laws of reality exist, but don't exist at the same time, the paradox itself created a beast that wipes out all existing matter when it touches it. You'll k n ow where it's been by looking for red grass."

"Hahaha, don't eat it by the way!" Delick said laughing. "Trust me, stuff gives you POWERFUL hallucinations that last for weeks. Once I was out for two whole months!"

"Then why are you laughing?" Twilight asked.

"Because," Front Line said. "That's him one week after waking up."

Twilight cracked a smile that went away after the moment passed.

"So when are are going to be there?" She asked.

"How about you stop looking to your sides and look at what's infront of you Twilly." Delick said pointing ahead.

Twilight did what she was told, and she stopped right in place in shock.

In all of the vast empty world she entered, she'd never expected to have a single building made of anything. But their capitol, it was massive, twice if not three times of Canterlot. Large marble towers rocketed up into the sky, buildings surrounded the large castle in the center. What amazed her even more were that some buildings floated in the air, tiny bridges made of marvelous colors shot from the ground up to the houses. Twilight even saw a couple of unicorns, or earth ponies walk on them.

Everything looked so amazing, her jaw hung open, and the two ponies infront of her laughed at her expression.

"Welcome, Alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle, to Kols, the capitol of the world that never was." Front Line side, walking up to the gate.

"Halt!" Shouted a guard. "What business do you have here?"

Front Line looked over to Twilight, and instantly the guard shouted to open the gates.

"Open the gates! Open the gate! An alicorn has joined us!!!" She shouted. "Hurry now! Open the gates!"

Twilight walked up next to Front Line with Delick who smiled with pride. She looked as the gate was surrounded by a psychedelic rainbow of colors what swirled around each other, braking apart like glass shattering. A sharp sound rang in Twilight's ear which made her wince.

"What was that?" She asked, gibbering her ear gently. "My ears are ringing."

"That's the first of many steps in assimilating here." Delick said. "Come, I'm sure Lord Star Swirl will want to see you."

"Star Swirl?" Twilight asked. Could it be true? Twilight couldn't believe it, not in the slightest, but the more she thought about it, the more it bothered her. Yes, she always wanted to meet the most power unicorn in Equestrian History, but wasn't expecting him to still be alive after eight hundred years.

"Yeah, Star Swirl the bearded. He was the first to be banished here long ago." Front Line said. "Do you know him?"

"Know him?! I know almost everything about him!" Twilight spouted. "He died at 110 years old after trying to become immortal, however his body was never found. His cape hangs in Canterlot when it's his birthday, which was Auguest 13, 0235 S.E."

Front Line and Delick raised their eyebrows at Twilight in utter confusion plastered on to their faces. Twilight smiled as she tilted her head upwards.

"I had a class on him when I was in middle school." She said. "Got a hundred on the exam!" She pumped a hoof as she walked through the gates.

Front Line leaned near Delick. "Dibs, I called her."

Delick punched him in the face. "No way bro, she's so mine!"

Twilight snickered. "Come on guys, stop fighting, and let's go see if you're lying or not!"

"Fine..." They groaned heavily as they caught up to her.

The castle was more impressive close up, than from afar. The ponies around the town whispered excitedly as Twilight walked by them. It was as though to Twilight was the first alicorn they had seen. Deeper into the town more ponies stopped living just to watch her. Guards walked up next to Twilight, pushing Front Line, and Delick away.

"No," Twilight said harshly. "They stay with me, they're my guards."

"What!?" Delick shouted. "No wa-oooffff!"

"Don't you know the code!?" Front Line said. If a pony comes in from the royal line, they may choose their guards?"

"Yeah, 'three guards are given to protect the pony'." Delick recited. "Whatever..."

"Are you sure you want those two?" A unicorn asked as he walked up close to Twilight.

"Star Swirl!?"

The unicorn smiled. "Ah, hello Twilight." He said. "Yes, I know who you are, and what you've done all your life. Up to the point of your coordination as a princess. After that you dissappered from my sight. Your power shielded you from my gaze."

"We have so much to talk about! Oh my gosh!" Twilight said, jumping in place like her hyperactive friend.

"Calm down Twilight, you didn't miss much from my time. Let's go to my study with your...Erm..guards." He sighed as he saw the two ponies fight in the dirt. "I could lend you one of my trained guards."

Twilight laughed lightly, then gave a sigh, looking at the stallions. "They're more fun. Plus I like those guys. They saved me from that monster thing."

"As you wish princess Twilight."

"Just Twilight please..." She blushed.

"Fine then." He said with a smile. "I'll she you my lab. Plenty of things for your adventure."

"Whoh, hold up. I need to go on an adventure? No way!" Twilight said.

"I respect your choice Twilight, but once you see the future of Equestria, you'll see why you want to return."

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Everypony you ever knew, met, or could of met would die."

"I need to see this!" Twilight urged, running up the stairs.
