Part 1: The Black Thing
It was a Dark and Stormy Night...
well not exactly, It was mostly cloudy though, but enough about that. Princess Celestia and Luna were getting ready to preform their duties, which consisted of Luna lowering the Moon so Celestia could raise the Sun.
There was one problem though,
the Moon was still up.
Celestia, enraged rushed to Luna's room, asking her why she hasn't lowered the Moon.
"I'm trying." Luna replied."It's not working."
Celestia, in disbelief, attempted it herself.
Nothing.
In one last attempt, they both tried at once.
Still nothing.
"What has caused this?" Asked Celestia.
"I have no idea.", Replied Luna.

"HELOOOO, Ponies! Are you ready for a nighttime party?" Asked Ever-Joyful Pinkie Pie, as she rushed to Sugarcube Corner with a bag full of party supplies.
"Pinkie, it's the middle of the night, Ponies are trying to sleep." Said Twilight Sparkle, from her Library Balcony.
"Aww, wheres the fun in sleeping?" Asked Pinkie.
"Pinkie, d' ya EVA' sleep?" Asked Applejack.
"Sometimes, But i mostly Throw Parties!" Replied Pinkie.
"Ah' didn't jest' Meet ya yesterday."
"Ugh, I need my beauty sleep!" Shouted Rarity, donning a bathrobe and face mask.
"Pinkie, you've woke just about everypony up." Said Twilight.
"Fine, but if you need to talk to me, I'll be at Sugarcube Corner, decorating for the party!" And with that, Pinkie Pie dashed off.
And everypony followed.
After a series of Cupcakes, Pin the Tail on the Pony, and various other Pinkie Pie party shenanigans, Pinkie called the party off. "I hate to stop such a great party, but we DO need our rest." Said Pinkie.
Suddenly, Twilight rushed Back in.
"I don't mean to alarm anypony, but the Moon doesn't look like it's moved!" Said Twilight, alarmed.
"Yeah, yeah, Luna's probably slacking off." Said Rainbow Dash, as she flew back to her home in Cloudsdale.
"This is too urgent to blame ponies! Spike, take a letter, to the Princess."
As Spike got out a scroll and quill, Twilight started the letter.
"Dear Princess Celestia,
It has come to my attention that the moon has not moved in the past few hours, weather or not this is an accident, or Nightmare Moon has returned, is not clear, but still, we must take immediate-
"Wait- how do you spell immediate?" Asked Spike.
"I-M-M-E-D-I-A-T-E" Said Twilight.
And Spike scribbled it down.
...we must take immediate action,

Twilight Sparkle"
"Now send It, this is urgent."
And Spike sent It.
Moments later, Spike belched out a new Letter.
And he read aloud.
"My Faithful Student Twilight,
I have noticed this, and we are doing what we can to solve this.
Your Mentor-
Princess Celstia"
"Hmm, this means even she doesn't know about it..."

As The Ponies were discussing how this could happen, a drop Of Black Sludge dripped out of the Everfree Forest, and started corrupting everything in It's path, No doubt, It was heading for Ponyville, FAST.

PART 2: The Defence
At Cheerlie's School, Things Were Normal.
As Cheerlie Was Sorting through The Fillies' Reports And Homework, She Noticed The Black thing.
As The Fillies Trotted Back home, Cheerlie went out to Investigate, Seeing It made Everything Pitch-Black, She Started to Wonder, ThenThought About The Everfree Forest, Then she Realized, Fluttershy lives near there.
As Fluttershy Was Feeding Angel, she Noticed Cheerlie Running Toward Her, as a Basic Instinct, She Hid Behind Her Sofa.
"Oh, Cheerlie, it's Only You." She Said.
"Fluttershy! Did you See anything... Black?" Asked Cheerlie.
"No, Unless You Count My Critters." Fluttershy Said, Coming out of Hiding.
"Well Start Packing, There's... an Evil Presence Coming From The Everfree Forest."
"oh dear, come on angel bunny." She Said as Angel Hopped on her Head.
"Now Let's Go!" Said Cheerlie.
"okay, Here we go."

Cheerlie and Fluttershy Rushed into Ponyville, Well, Only Cheerlie RUSHED
Fluttershy Predictably Went Slow.
As Cheerlie Went Door-to-Door Warning Ponies, Fluttershy Remained...Shy.
Soon Enough, all the Ponies in Ponyville Were Ready to Leave.
"Alright, Everypony, Make Sure You have What you Need, It's A long Trip To Canterlot, and we Can't lose a Second! Every Minute Wasted is Another Mile of Equestria in that... Goop." Said Twilight, and they all Started off to Canterlot...
Flash Forward To then.
"whew, we made it" Said Fluttershy.
"Eeee-yup." Said Bic Mac.
"We Have No time to Lose! To the Princess!"
As The Ponies Flocked through the Canterlot Gates, The Black Sludge continues to Devour The Land, Fluttershy's animals have Fled, To witness Seconds Later that Fluttershy's Once Peaceful Abode Turned into a Dark Structure. The Same Happened With Sweet Apple Acres, and The Schoolhouse. Soon, The Ponies Reached Celestia's Library.
"Wow. So this is Where Twilight once Lived?" Asked Scootaloo.
"Seems Very Charming, More Intracate than Any Room i've Seen." Said Rarity.
"And WAY Bigger than the Treehouse Library In Ponyville!" Said Rainbow Dash.
Applejack Sighed. "Yea, PonyVill'" Said Applejack, Watching The Darkness Devour The Rest of Sugarcube Corner.
As The ponies Kept Chatting about Twilight's Old Library And The Disaster at Hand, They Didn't Notice The Princess Trot in.
"Hello Ponies!" She Said, "We are Here To Announce that We May have a Solution to this!"
As The Ponies Gasped In Shock, They Cheered at the Same time, Fluttershy, Obviously Hid Herself.
"It may Be Hard, But We will Create a Magical Barrier around Canterlot, Heres What we Do,
EARTH PONIES: Collect Food From the Trees and Gardens, We don't know how long we Will be here.
UNICORNS: Combine Your Magic To Create this Barrier.
PEGUSI: Should The Shield Fail, Be Prepared to Grab Any Unicorns Or Earth Ponies, Then Carry them to A Place where The Darkness Has not been.
Am I Clear on this?"
"YEAAAH!" Shouted the Ponies.
"i don't know..." Squeaked Fluttershy.
Everyone Got to Work, as Celestia And Luna Watched The Threat Growing Closer.
"Do you Think It was Discord?" Asked Luna.
"Maybe, but we Need to Check."
As the Ponies Worked To Serve Their Cause, The Princesses Went to the Discord Statue, ony to Find that It was unharmed, The Seal In Perfect Condition.
"Then Who? How? WHY?" Asked Luna.
All Questions too Hard To Awnser, As the Slop Devoured Ponyville.

PART 3: The Escape
As The Goop Drew Closer to Canterlot, The Unicorns Strengthened Their Magic.
"Oh, I wish i Studied Magic more, like Twilight!" Rarity said.
"Don't worry, Rarity, We need all the Help we can get." Said Twilight.
By what WOULD have been Evening, The Slop was At The Gates of Canterlot.
It Lashed Against The Shield, Turning an Area Black, Then Shattering it, Only to be Repaired in Seconds By The Unicorns' Magic.
"Princess Celestia!" Shouted An Earth Pony.
"Yes?" she Replied
"We've Gathered all the Food Around Here, But The Shield Isn't Very Sturdy, The only thing Keeping...IT From Getting in is That the Unicorns Keep Repairing the Barrier, They Can't Hold Out Much Longer!" Said The Pony.
"Then We need the Strongest magic here, With Me, Luna, And the Rest of the Unicorns Combined, we should hold out longer." Replied the Princess, Who Dashed over With Luna To Help The Unicorns.
As They Used their Magic, The Field Grew Stronger, The Monster Touched it, and Retreated Back, Then Tried again, And Broke Through.
"AAAAHHH! IT GOT IN!" Yelled one Pony.
"There's only One Thing to Do, Plan B." Said Celestia.
As the Shield Weakened, The Goop Continued to Seep in, And The Ponies Gathered at the Library Balcony To be Lifted By Pegasi.
Nopony Knew What Happened when A ony Touched the Darkness,
A Random Pony Got tired, and Slowed Down, But he Was Encased in Darkness, His Eyes Turned Red, And Black Flames Were Eminating From His Black, Once Tan Coat.
Seeing This, All the Other Ponies Rushed, Including Fluttershy.
One By one, The Pegasi Lifted The Ponies Incapable of Flight.
As Celestia Watched The Last Of Canterlot Encased in a Sheet Of Darkness, She Couldn't Help But Get Teary-Eyed, Luna Was no Different.
"Well, It Looks Like The Only Places Unaffected Are Cloudsdale and... THE EVERFREE FOREST!"
Everypony Gulped, Then Replied
"Cloudsdale! Defenatley!"
"Wait, That's right, Earth Ponies and Unicorns Can't Stand on Clou-"
Twilight Intterupted Rainbow Dash
"Remember The Spell I used To Allow Ponies to walk on Clouds?"
"How Could I Forget that? BEST. DAY. EVER!"
"Well, I Think my Magic is Stronger, i can Probably Do it to Everypony Here."
As Twilight Flashed Her Horn Multiple Times, She Finally Managed to Do it.
"Great! We Did it." She Said.
"To Cloudsdale!" Yelled Luna.
"Eee-yup" Said Big Mac.
