A/N: this story is just my boredom getting the best of me and my feeling down over the past few days. This story will be based around Rainbow Dash. I want to tell you now, this story will be sad, but have some happy moments, love funny, etc. I want to tell you all that this story is only connected to Another Chance At Life by the means of the telekinetic spell that Twilight gave Kyle and the Love he has with Rainbow Dash. If you want the story this is based off, I recommend going to Another Chance At Life. This story is just meant to make you feel emotion, not anything more. Let’s get started shall we?

Kyle is the only human in Equestria. He has been living in the small town of Ponyville for a little over 3 months now and is a welcomed part of the community. He has been helpful to everypony he meets and always tries to help them whenever they need it. Celestia has given him her blessing and has welcomed him fully into their land and he couldn’t have been happier for that.

During his time here he has fallen in love with a cyan pegasus named Rainbow Dash, and she has the same feelings for him. They are happy and when they are together nothing could go any better. When Twilight asked Kyle for a favor to learn more about his culture he gladly accepted. Twilight decided to give him a spell that he could use whenever he wanted as a reward for doing such a thing for her. This is where our story begins.

Rainbow Dash was just on her way to see Kyle. She had gotten up early that morning to send some rain over to Sweet Apple Acres for Applejack. She had just finished and thought it would be a good idea to go over and see if Kyle wanted to hang out with her today. “He probably is still asleep, he always likes to sleep in” Rainbow said to herself with a small smile as she flew.

She soared through the air at speeds that would make anypony turn their head in amazement as she flew towards his apartment. She made it there a few minutes later and saw that his window was still open and she looked inside and saw that he was indeed still asleep. She flew in and landed softly on the floor.

Kyle was lying sprawled out on his bed. He was snoring lightly and Dash laughed a little. She walked up to him and started to blow into his face to wake him up. “C’mon you big lazy thing you, wake up” she said as she blew into his face. She stepped away when he started to stir a little.

“Huh, what?” He said as he looked around drowsily. He caught sight of dash and let out a smile. “Oh, that was you. Nice to see you too” he said before flopping back onto the bed. Dash smiled at him and started to poke his chest. “Stop it, It’s still like….really early in the morning” Kyle said to her as she poked him in the side.

“Come on, even so I want to hang out with you today! What are you going to do?” Rainbow Dash asked Kyle as he got into a sitting position. She was glad that he had at least made an attempt to start to get up.

“Well, Twilight said something a few days ago about me going over there to get something, want to go with me there?” Kyle said to Rainbow Dash with a smile.

“Sure, with Twilight being so interested in you and all, it has to be interesting. When were you going to go?” Rainbow Dash asked him with a soft smile.

“Eager to go are we? We can go in a few minutes if you want, just let me get ready” Kyle said before hopping out of the bed and stretching. Kyle walked into the bathroom and ran some water through his hair and then walked back into the room. “Ok, we can go now” he said finally.

Kyle and Rainbow Dash walked to Twilight’s house. It was a nice day and the sun was shining brightly. A lot of ponies were already out enjoying the day and everything just felt nice for some unknown reason. Kyle was thinking over what Twilight wanted with him now, and Rainbow Dash just smiled as she walked next to him.

Rainbow Dash was going over some thoughts of her own. I can’t believe Kyle loves me. He said it a while ago in AJ’s orchard, but it is still a shocker after 3 weeks! I kind of like him too, but I am going to wait to tell him how I truly feel until the time is right. After about 5 more minutes of walking and thinking Kyle and Dash made it to the lavender mare’s front door.

Kyle knocked on the door and after a few more minutes of waiting Twilight opened the door with her magic. “Hi Kyle, you’re here early…..and you brought Rainbow Dash with you” the lavender unicorn said to them with a happy tone.

“Hi Twilight, I just thought I would stop by to see what you needed me for, and RD just decided to tag along with me” Kyle said to Twilight with a smile.

“Well, I wanted to give you something for you helping me learn about your culture some more. I wanted to give you a telekinetic spell that you can use whenever you want. Do you want me to give you this spell?” Twilight asked Kyle.

Rainbow Dash looked at Kyle and saw that the smile on his face widened immensely. She giggled a bit and Kyle eagerly said for her to do the spell on him. Rainbow Dash watched as the lavender unicorn’s horn got brighter and brighter as she charged the spell.

“Kyle, are you ready?” Twilight said to the human that was standing in front of her.

“Yep, give it to me Twi!” Kyle said happily. He was eager to get this spell, he would be able to do so much with it if he had it.

Twilight shot a beam of magic at Kyle and he almost immediately fell to his knees. He clenched his fists and ground his teeth as waves of agonizing pain flew threw his body like a raging storm. He was shaking from all of the energy that was being sent into his body.

Rainbow Dash was getting worried for Kyle, this looked like it was seriously hurting him. Dash was going to go over and comfort him as he knelt there, but was stopped by something. A large flash of light suddenly engulfed the room and blinded Rainbow Dash. The flash only lasted a few moments and when it dissipated Rd was left dazed.

When she finally could see clearly again she saw that Kyle wasn’t where he was kneeling anymore. She looked frantically around the room and saw that there was a huddled mass lying on the ground on the other side of the room.
“Kyle! Are you ok?” she yelled as she trotted over to his side. She sat down next to him and started to poke his side with her nose. “Kyle?”

Twilight was still standing where she was and immediately regained her composure and trotted over to his side and sat down opposite to dash. “Rainbow Dash? Is he ok?” she asked the cyan pegasus.

“Twilight, why in the hay did you have to do that? He is literally falling apart now, look at his muscles, they’re in spasms! Not to mention that he has cuts from flying across the room or the fact that he is out cold!” Rainbow Dash said to Twilight. She was losing her cool, she hated to see ponies hurt and this was no better, Kyle looked to be in serious pain and this was all over a stupid spell.

“Dash, I-I didn’t mean for it to do this! This is not what was supposed to happen; the spell shouldn’t have hurt him! Maybe he’ll wake up soon and be alright?” Twilight said back, she was trying to keep her cool as well. This was never supposed to happen!

“You better hope so, because a while ago he told me something and I don’t think I could live with myself after this if something happened to him” Rainbow Dash said before she nuzzled into his chest with her nose.

“What did he tell you that would make you say that?” Twilight asked with curiosity.

“H-he said that he loved me, and I think I love him too. I need him to be alright Twi….I just need him to be alright so I can tell him how I feel when the time is right. I don’t want you to give him anymore spells anymore; this is too much for everypony to handle” Rainbow Dash said.

Twilight nodded and walked over and grabbed a blanket for Kyle. She draped it over him and sat back down. It was pretty quiet for a while after that. Dash was trying to comfort Kyle’s unconscious body by rubbing his hair and saying ‘you better wake up soon’. Twilight watched as her friend did this and couldn’t help but feel like manure. She had hurt 2 of her friends by giving the one a spell.

After about 6 hours of sitting by his side Kyle started to stir. His eyes opened to find that he was lying on the floor of the library. He glanced around and saw that Rainbow Dash and Twilight had fallen asleep on both sides of him. He sat up and accidentally hit RD’s foreleg with his foot.

Rainbow Dash opened her eyes and looked at Kyle as he was sitting up. She didn’t even hesitate giving him a big hug. Twilight was awoken by all of this commotion and looked Kyle over. “Kyle, how do you feel?” she asked.

Kyle held his head in reply and lay back down on the ground. “I feel like my head is going to explode. I never thought getting a spell could hurt this much’ he said to the lavender mare.

“That’s because it wasn’t supposed to hurt. Your body must have taken differently to the spell than I thought. We have been worried sick about you” Twilight said to Kyle as he lay on the floor.

“Oh, well that makes sense then. Other than feeling like crap right now I am alright. I think I am just going to go home and rest for the night” Kyle said as he motioned to get up again.

Rainbow Dash placed a hoof on his chest “You’re not going anywhere. You probably can hardly walk right now, and you want to go home? No chance, you’re staying here for the night….right Twi?” Rainbow said looking to the unicorn for support.

“RD is right, you shouldn’t be moving around much while you are feeling like this, you are going to stay here for the night and then we can get you home tomorrow” Twilight said supporting Rainbow Dash.

“Ugh, fine I’ll stay here for the night” Kyle said defeated. He turned his head to RD “Rainbow Dash, I really hope I didn’t make you freak out too much with this little episode of mine” He said with a chuckle.

Rainbow Dash smiled at him “You have to do a lot more than this to get me to freak out, but this was a good attempt.” She turned and faced Twilight “Do you have him under control, or do you want me to stay here and watch him with you?”

“Go home and get some sleep Rainbow, I’ll come get you in the morning” Twilight said to the cyan pegasus.
Rainbow Dash turned and walked to the door, when she looked back she saw that Kyle was already asleep and she smiled. She left and decided that a good night sleep was sounding like a really good idea right about now.

Rainbow Dash had an uneasy sleep that night. Every dream she had, it was filled with Kyle getting hurt from the spell in one way or another and her not being able to do anything about it. She got up at around 8:30 to stave off another one of those horrid dreams. “Why do I feel like this? Why are those dreams bothering me so much? Kyle is fine now so those dreams don’t mean anything anyways anymore” She said as she walked around her house.

After a while of doing nothing she decided to go to Twilight’s to check on Kyle. She needed to see for herself that he was perfectly fine now. She flared her wings and gave them a few test flaps before shooting out of her house and towards the library. She flew through the air and felt a little better, the wind blowing through her wings making her nerves loosen, she was almost there now.

After a few more minutes she touched down in front of the unicorn’s house and she walked up to the door. She opened it and walked inside. Twilight was sitting next to Kyle, who was sitting up on the floor. She smiled at the sight and walked over to them and sat down. “Hey, I see you look better now” RD said to Kyle.

“Yeah, I guess I just needed the sleep. I really want to try to see if I can use this thing yet” He said to both of them. They both gave him a look, but he held his ground.

“Well here, concentrate on the quill over on the table over there. Think about you lifting it up into the air” Twilight said to him. She didn’t want him to overdo it; he just was feeling better after all.

Kyle nodded and looked at the quill. He started to think about lifting it up into the air and saw it start to wiggle. He smiled and then watched as the quill lifted up off the table and hovered there. “I did it!” he said before he lost his concentration and the quill fell to the table once more.

Rainbow Dash couldn’t help but smile at how happy Kyle was. He had gotten what he wanted and nothing was wrong anymore. She patted Kyle on the back and he smiled at her. “Dash, thanks for being ok with this, I know you are probably going to hit me after you putting up with yesterday, but today I feel great” he said to her.

“Well then, let me get that out of the way now then” She said before she hit him in the shoulder with her hoof. He looked at her and rubbed his shoulder where she had hit him. Dash smiled and stuck her tongue out at him.

“Ok, now that that is all done and over with, can I go now? I want to go back to my place and get some rest that is not on the hard floor” Kyle said before getting up and stretching. He looked a lot better than yesterday now. He seemed to look like nothing had even happened from the past day.

“S-sure, you seem fine now. I want you to promise me thought that you will not overdo yourself with the spell ok? I don’t want you to strain yourself too much and have something happen right after you just recovered” Twilight said to Kyle, concern showing in her face.

“Ok, I promise. Dash, do you want to walk with me home?” Kyle asked the cyan pegasus.

“Sure” Rainbow Dash said to him in reply, her voice becoming cheery now that this horrible incident was over and done with.

Kyle and Rainbow said their goodbyes to Twilight and began walking back towards Kyle’s apartment. Kyle looked to be lost in thought again and RD took this time to think about some things herself. Ok, so he is looking better now, but how will this affect him later on? They had made it to the apartment building and Kyle’s room was on the top floor, granted it was only three floors so it wasn’t that big of a deal. They started to ascend the stairs and when they made it to the top Kyle walked over to his door and unlocked it with the key he had.

Rainbow Dash walked in after him and Kyle sat down on his bed. He looked really tired now, and Rainbow Dash could tell something was up, just by looking at his eyes. “Kyle, what’s wrong?” she asked him, worry starting to creep into her voice again.

“I just feel dizzy that’s all. I guess the walk home was a little too much for me right after I just got up and about again” Kyle said to RD with a smile.

“Are you sure you’re alright? You look really pale” She asked the human, which was now rocking ever so slightly on the bed.

“T-trust me….I’m fff…” he trailed off before he fell on the floor. He lay there and after a moment began to cough.

Rainbow Dash trotted up to him and rolled him onto his back. He stopped coughing after a moment and then looked at her with a pained smile “I guess I’m not so much better after all huh Dashie?”

You still have to be funny, even when you are sick. Come on, can you get up to get in your bed, or do I have to get you a blanket so you sleep on the floor again” Rainbow Dash asked him, her mind racing with thoughts on what was making Kyle feel like this. She already knew the answer, but she didn’t want to believe it just yet.

“Hold on” Kyle said before he slowly got to his feet again. He crawled into his bed and flopped down and looked at RD with another smile “I’ll be fine now; you should go tell Twilight that I made it here ok.”

“Are you sure? You just fell over on me a few minutes ago and started to go into a fit of coughing” Rainbow Dash retorted to him, she did not want to leave him again. He was not better, if anything he is getting worse.

Kyle let out another cough, but managed to smile through it “Go, I’ll be right here when you come back….I don’t think I could go anywhere anyways right now even if I tried. Just fly over and tell her that I made it here alright and then you can come back to check on me.” He looked awful, his eyes were glazed over and he was as white as a sheet.

“Ok, just try to get some rest while I’m gone ok?” Rainbow Dash said before she flew out his open window and towards Twilight’s.

Kyle fell asleep shortly after that, not to wake up until a while after Rainbow Dash got back to his house.

Rainbow Dash flew as fast as she could to Twilight’s place. She was getting worked up again. He isn’t better! If anything he’s worse now than before! I really wish Twilight would have thought of this a lot more before she went along and did it now; it’s making me feel like crap! After a few minutes of flying RD landed in front of Twilight’s house. She walked in and right up to the lavender mare. “Twilight, Kyle made it home alright but, there are some problems” Rainbow Dash said to her.

Twilight turned around and looked at RD with concern “Is he not better? Did something happen?” she asked the cyan pegasus.

“Kyle fell on the floor once and then went into a coughing fit, I don’t know what that means, but it can’t be good. I think the spell you gave him made him really sick Twi” Rainbow Dash said in monotone. She couldn’t have that confident air about her when something like this was happening.

“Well, at least he is home safely, go back and keep an eye on him and let me know if anything changes. I’ll look for a way to get rid of the spell, but that might take a few days” Twilight said with a hint of sadness. This is my entire fault that Kyle is feeling like this! Why can’t anything ever go right for a change for me?

“Ok, I’ll come by if anything happens. Don’t let this make you too worried thought Twi, Kyle is a pretty tough guy and he can handle himself” Rainbow Dash said before flying out the front door leaving a worried Twilight behind.

I feel like crap, this is so much worse than anything else that was bad that happened to me here. It feels like my body is just saying no to me doing anything now, all I want to do is lay here. Kyle was in his bed and he was staring at the ceiling. He was feeling alright when he didn’t move, but when he made any large movement he would go into a coughing fit again. Kyle knew something was up, he just didn’t want to be brought down by it, and he would get better.

“RD has to be worried sick about me right now. She was looking at me like I had the plague or something when I fell on the ground earlier. I hope she doesn’t get too worried for me about it, it’s going to pass sooner or later” Kyle said as he liked at the ceiling. He coughed once and rubbed his eyes with his hands.

Rainbow Dash flew in a few minutes later and she saw that Kyle was awake. She walked up to him and looked him over, he was about the same. “Kyle, feeling any different?” she asked the human lying in his bed.

Kyle turned towards her and smiled softly “Other than feeling like this, I’m fine. You really don’t have to watch over me Dash, I’m fine now. You should go hang out with one of your friends or something” He said to her. She doesn’t need to watch over me just because I am sick. She needs to be out doing something fun, this was my decision and I will suffer for it, not her.

“No, you are looking like crap and you need to rest. Twilight told me to watch over you and see if things get better or worse. I’m staying and you are going to like it. I thought you would like the idea of me being so close to you” Rainbow Dash said to him with a smile at the end.

Kyle let out a laugh “Oh, I see where you’re going with this. Fine, you can stay, but you are going to get pretty bored while you’re here with me” Kyle said to her with a smile. He really didn’t like the idea of having his best friend suffer for this, but she was just as stubborn as he was sometimes, so he let it go.

Rainbow Dash walked over and climbed up onto his bed and lay down next to him. “There, does this make you feel a little better?” she asked him with a smile.

Kyle turned to face her better, but moved a little too much and went into another coughing fit. This one was worse than the others. Kyle put his hand over his mouth as he coughed and he could taste iron entering it. He coughed some more and felt a warm liquid spatter onto his hand. When he was done coughing he removed his hand away from his mouth and looked at it with wide eyes. His hand was stained crimson and he saw that Dash was looking at it too. “I guess that isn’t supposed to happen” Kyle said still trying to lighten the mood to no avail.

Dash looked at him with increasing horror. He was sick, really sick. She watched as his hand got covered with red and she wanted to vomit. He is really bad, I’m going to take him to the hospital and get him checked out there, and maybe they can help. For right now though, Dash just rubbed his back with her hoof and tried to ease the pain he was feeling.

Rainbow Dash looked at Kyle again. He was looking the same as before, only now he looked as if he had no energy left to use. Dash was on the verge of tears seeing her friend like this, but he would want her to be strong, so she held it in. Kyle would cough every now and again and that made dash cringe, seeing as now almost every cough was accompanied by some blood.

“Kyle, I’m going to go see Twilight again. We need to get you to the hospital or something. You are no good for yourself here, maybe they can help there” Rainbow Dash said to him.

He laughed a little “I guess you are going to keep this up now until I say yes right? Fine, I’ll go to the hospital, but I’m not going to like it.” Kyle got up and almost immediately fell over again. Dash rushed to his side and propped him up.
“Sit down, you are going to be teleported there by Twilight. I’ll be back in a few minutes with her” RD said before flying out of the apartment window again. She flew to the lavender mare’s house for the second time now. She just burst through the door to save time now.

Twilight turned around and gave a frown. “What happened now?” she said to the speedster pegasus. She was getting worked up, she had been searching through her books for a while now, but nothing seemed to help the situation any.
“He’s getting worse, now sometimes when he coughs, blood comes with it. We need to get him to the hospital or something, maybe they can help him there” Rainbow Dash said to Twilight.

“Dash, I don’t think the hospital can help him. This has been done with magic, so either his body must accept the change or else he could….” Twilight trailed off before the last word. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself if that happened.

Dash started to cry “Don’t say that! He will be fine; we just need to get some professional help or something! Why are you giving up?” She wasn’t holding it in anymore, she had been bottling it up for a while now and it was all let loose when Twilight said that. He isn’t going to die; he is nowhere near that bad. He just is a little sick is all.

“I’m not giving up Rainbow; it’s just that there is nothing in any of my books on how to fix what has happened. He is on his own for right now. I’ll teleport him to the hospital if you want, and I’ll even send a letter to Celestia to see if she could help the situation at all” Twilight said to RD with sadness filling her voice.

“Can you come now to send him there? I want him to get at least something to ease his pain right now, he won’t stop coughing” Rainbow Dash asked the lavender unicorn.

“Sure, let’s go”

Kyle was lying on his bed again. This sucks, my friend thinks I am the equivalent of dying and is so worried she can hardly think straight! He closed his eyes and held his hands over his face, despite how hard he wanted to drop them. He started to well up and then a single tear slid down his cheek. Huh, what if I die? What happens then? I honestly would accept the fact if I died, I have lived the equivalent of 3 lives here and all of them were worth living.

Twilight and Rainbow Dash came in through the door then. Twilight got a look at Kyle and saw what she meant by the fact that he needed to go to the hospital. He looked a mess. His hair was shaggy and his eyes were dull looking. He could hardly move and he had one horrible cough. “Kyle, you don’t look so good. We’re going to take you over to the hospital to see if they can do anything that will make you feel a little better” Twilight said to him with a reassuring smile.

“Ok, we can go when you’re ready” Kyle said in a reply. He sat up and managed to get up off the bed. Twilight charged up her magic and a few moments later they were teleported into the waiting room of the hospital. Twilight trotted up to Nurse Redheart who was behind a counter.

“Nurse Redheart, Kyle here is really sick and we need to get him checked out to see what’s wrong with him” Twilight said to the nurse.

Nurse Redheart looked at Kyle, who smiled weakly in response. She let her mouth fall open slightly as to how ragged he looked. She trotted around the desk and got a mobile bed for him and wheeled it over. He knew what was going on and lay down on the bed and Nurse Redheart wheeled him away from Twilight and Rainbow Dash.

About 3 hours later Nurse Redheart came back and saw that only Rainbow Dash was there. Twilight had gone home to research some more and Dash decided to stay. The nurse walked up to her and she got a hopeful smile. “Miss Dash, your friend is in a room now. We recommend that he stays here from now on; it will be the only way to keep him stable.”

Dash’s smile faded “What does that mean?”

Nurse Redheart was dreading having to say this, but the speedster pony needed to know what is going on. “Dash, Kyle’s body is slowly shutting down. We have him kept in a special room that will keep him stable for the time being, but his body is deteriorating. I’m sorry.”

“No, I don’t believe you! He will get better, he isn’t going to die! I know he is stronger than this, just wait and see” Rainbow Dash said with tears streaming down her face. He can’t die, I won’t let him!

“Rainbow Dash, his body is shutting down. He will pass eventually; it is just a matter of when. Go see him; he will need you by his side” Nurse Redheart said before walking away from the cyan pegasus.

Rainbow Dash walked to Kyle’s room, tears sliding down her cheeks and staining her fur. He will be fine, Nurse Redheart doesn’t know what she’s talking about. He will get better, he will be fine. She walked to his door and opened it. She saw him lying in his bed and he smiled at her when she came in. Dash hiccupped once and then tried to regain her composure “How are you feeling?”

“Come up here and lay with me for a little bit. I want to talk to you” Kyle said as he motioned for her to come up next to him. Dash smiled at him and listened; when she was up there she rested her head on his chest and looked up at him. Kyle started to rub her mane and she felt a little better.

“What do you want to talk about?” Dash said trying to sound optimistic.

Kyle put on a smile “Dash, you know how I feel about you, me loving you. I feel like this is going to interfere with that now, but I just want to let you know that I will always love you with all of my heart.” Dash looked at him and could tell where he was going with this.

Rainbow Dash started to well up again “What are you saying?” He thinks he is going to die! He isn’t, he sounds better already!

“Dash, I am not going to be around for much longer. I am not going to get better, only worse. This room is keeping me stable, but I can still feel myself getting weaker. Dash, I am going to pass away soon, but I want you to know that I am going to be passing knowing that I had one of the best times of my life here” Kyle said as tears started to slide down his cheeks.

“Kyle, shut up! You’re not going to die! Stop thinking like that, you will be fine I-I…”she trailed off and buried her head in his chest. Her sobbing was muffled by the bed sheets, but Kyle still felt horrible when he heard this.

Kyle reached down and lifted her head up so she was looking at him. He had the softest smile on right now “Dashie, you have become the best part of my life and I love you to death for that. Just you being here with me makes me feel better. I want to be with you for the rest of my time here.”

“I love you Kyle” Rainbow Dash said before she leaned in and kissed him on the lips. Dash was going to stay by his side and go through this even though it hurts.

Dash stayed in Kyle’s bed with him and he slowly started to show signs again. He began coughing again and more blood accompanied it. Dash just held him closer and said that everything was going to be alright in the end. Deep in her mind there was still the shred of hope that he would get better, but it was getting smaller by the hour.

Dash just hugged him as time went on and he slowly started to get worse and worse. Dash watched as Kyle went into such a horrible spasm of coughing that she had to hold him down to stop him from falling off the bed. She wasn’t faring much better than he was though, she was feeling helpless, her friend that she loved was dying in front of her own eyes and she couldn’t do anything about it.

“Dash, I’m so sorry you have to see this” Kyle said as he tried to give a smile. Dash just patted him on the back and smiled at him. She was broken up now that he was leaving her. “Dash, I love you so much. I hate myself for putting you through all of this.”

Rainbow Dash let out a soft smile and a tear slid down her cheek “Kyle, you had no idea that this would happen. Don’t blame yourself, you didn’t do anything wrong.” She gave him a hug and kissed him on the cheek and nuzzled his neck.

Kyle gave a small smile and wrapped his arms around the speedster pony. “I couldn’t feel happier right now Dash. Just you being here with me makes it worth passing” he said as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Dash was wrapped up in his arms and she could feel him burning up with fever. He was hot to the touch almost. She tried not to show signs of how much this unnerved her, but it was hard.

After a while Dash could feel Kyle slowly start to loosen his grip. She turned to him and nuzzled into his neck. Kyle smiled weakly and put his hand up to her and rubbed her back for a few moments. He let out another coughing spasm and then slowly started to calm down after doing so. He looked at her and she leaned in and kissed him again. After she pulled away he gave another weak smile “I love you Dashie, and thank you for being here with me for this.”

Dash started to cry again and buried her face in his chest once more. “I don’t want you to go Kyle. Y-you practically just got here, a-and now you’re leaving us. It isn’t fair!” she said as she sobbed into his chest.

“Dash, I’ll always be near you. I’ll never be far away from you and I’ll watch over you forever” Kyle said weakly before using the last of his strength to hold her in an embrace. Kyle let the tears slide down his face, for they were not tears of sadness, but tears of remembrance. She will never be far away from me, I’ll always be near.

Dash had her head resting on his chest and she felt his heart beating. She listened as it started to slow and his breathing become more sparse, she turned her head and he reached down and kissed her one last time and then rest his head on the pillow. Her floodgates cracked and she wailed as she saw his eyes close forever. She lay on his chest and cried right into it, not caring if she started to soak through the sheets. She held onto his hand with her hoof and wept into his chest. I can’t believe he’s gone already, it’s not fair!

Rainbow Dash laid with Kyle’s body until the Nurses had to take it away. She felt empty now, but that wasn’t the worst part of it, she felt like this was her chance. She walked outside of the hospital and the bright midafternoon sun greeted her. She looked up at the clouds and gave a smile, she still felt sad for losing a friend, but what he said rang true. “Kyle, wherever you are I hope you’re listening. You are always going to be here, and I will always love you, even if you are not right beside me” she said as she started to walk towards Ponyville. Somehow she felt like Kyle was still right beside her as she walked, and that made her feel better knowing that feeling.

“I know you will” Kyle said as he watched her begin to walk towards Ponyville. Kyle started to walk with her as she made her way into town. “I will always be near you Dashie, just remember that. I will always be watching over you and seeing your accomplishments throughout your life, even if you think I am not there. You will be in my heart forever, and I will be in yours.”
