Batman backed into the brick wall. He slid down to a sitting position. His hand on his stomach, he tried to staunch the flow of blood flowing freely from his wound. Batman coughed up blood, the metallic taste filling his mouth as it dripped down his chin. He felt the grasp of a gloved hand wrapping around his neck, and the glint of the pistol as the Joker pulled it out of the cuff of his suit. The Joker pushed it forcefully onto Bruce's forehead, grinning like the madman he was.

So this is how it ends...

Batman looked The Joker in the eyes.

"You haven't won," Batman grunted. "You lost from the beginning. You haven't won..." The Joker frowned.

"I think I have, actually. Nighty night, Bats."

He laughed hysterically, a high, rasping horrible sound. Then the Clown Prince of Crime pulled the trigger.

Boom.
