(7 years later)

Twilight sighed as she looked over the table to see her brother looking nervous after what he had just asked of her.

"So let me get this straight, you think you can come in my house and out of the blue, no letter or anything about this. You just show up and expect these things out of me because I'm your sister?" She asked as he shuffled nervously.

"No it's not that, I was just thinking it would be nice to let you know in person this time instead of waiting till last minute like last time." He whimpered as she sighed but inside she was a little giddy.

"So when and where?" She asked with a neutral expression while he smiled a little.

"Well we were thinking if it's ok with you that we have the wedding here and you would marry us?" He asked as a small smile spread over her face.

"I'll it but you seriously need to work on your timing Shining." Twilight said as a white unicorn walked in with a smile.

"Don't worry darling I'll take good care of your brother." Rarity giggled as Twilight groaned.

"I'm sure you will." She grumbled getting a laugh from the two as they thanked her again just as a flash went off behind her and she felt her lovers hooves wrap around her.

"Are you comfortable with this?" Cadence asked as Twilight looked up at the alicorn with a smile.

"I suppose I really don't have a choice, if I want to move on and have even a hope of reconnecting with my family and friends from Equestria I need to start somewhere. My question is, are you ok comfortable with this?" Twilight asked only to get a passionate kiss from the mare.

"I'm with you now Twilight, and while I love your bother it's not like it used to be and I only see him as a distant friend at best. You know that after the divorce and when we started to get together." Cadence smiled thinking back six years ago.

(Six years ago)

Cadence sighed as she looked over the last of the paper work that day just as Twilight and her little Starbolt walked into the throne room laughing. In the filly's magical grip was an ice cream cone along with most of it all over her face.

Cadence looked to see Twilight with two making her smile as the other mare trotted up to her with a small smile looking at the papers she still had in her magical grip.

"So I guess this is it huh?" Twilight asked giving Cadence the her ice cream cone as she sighed and nodded.

Today would mark the last day she was married to Shining Armor and the two had agreed on joint custody of little Star, neither wanted to put her through a big court battle.

Shining had moved back to Canterlot taking his station back as Captain of the Canterlot Guard under one of Prince Winter's higher ranked soldiers that was already stationed there till Equestria could defend itself.

"Yeah." She sighed as Twilight came beside her and wrapped her hoof around her.

"Hey don't worry, everything will work out ok." She smiled trying to cheer her former sister in law and best friend up only getting a small smile.

"Thanks Twilight, I'm glad that you came. Star has been driving me crazy wondering when Aunt Twilight was coming to visit." She laughed as the little filly yawned making both mares smile.

"Ok munchkin lets get you cleaned up and then off to bed." Twilight called out to her nudging the filly.

"But I'm not sleepy." She yawned again as her ice cream tipped and would have splattered all over the floor had Twilight hadn't been quick enough to catch it with her magic.

"Of course you're not, but we need to get you cleaned up anyway." Twilight smiled scooping the filly up getting a groan.

Cadence smiled fondly watching the two as they disappeared out the door and around the corner.

She sighed and looked at the divorce papers again letting out a sigh and signed below before putting it in a envelope and magicing it to Shining so he could look over it and sign.

She heard the door close a few minutes later and looked up to see Twilight sighing leaning her head against the door.

"A little tired Twi?" Cadence asked snickering a little as the mare rounded on her and glared playfully at her.

"Well excuse me for being worn out by that little ball of energy, honestly I think she could give all my kids a run for their money." Twilight huffed climbing the stairs that led up to the throne and sat down leaning into Cadence who wrapped a arm around her.

"Now you know how I feel, I think it gets worse when you leave." Cadence laughed while Twilight seemed to pale a little.

"Don't worry Twilight, I'll be sure keep you safe." Cadence laughed as Twilight smiled up at her.

"It's good to see you laughing and smiling Cadence." Twilight said nuzzling her as Cadence looked shocked at the show of affection but brushed it off and smiled at the mare.

"Yeah feels good to after so long. So what are your plans with my daughter tomorrow?" Cadence asked as Twilight sighed.

"Sorry but I have to head home tomorrow and won't be back for at least a month this time. Got some things going on in the north and I wanted to talk to Chrysalis and see how her hive is doing." Twilight shrugged getting nod from Cadence even though she had talked to Chrysalis herself and the two actually got along after everything had blown over, she still had a small twitch when the changeling queen was mentioned.

Not only that but something in Cadence seemed to want to protect Twilight from what it saw as a evil creature.

"Oh what are you and Chrysalis going to be up to?" Cadence asked as Twilight shrugged still on her shoulder.

"I don't know, something about helping the hive become better and stronger." She yawned snuggling into her side getting a smile from Cadence.

"Come on lets go to bed Twi, my daughter wore you out." She giggled at the grumbled reply from her friend.

(End flashback)

Cadence smiled a little thinking how the two seemed to dance around each other until last year when Twilight was the one that finally asked her out.

(One year ago)

Cadence sighed as she thought of her best friend coming to visit again. She was more nervous than even when she had asked out Shining Armor since the filly she watched over was the one that helped her win Shining's heart. Now that same filly had grown into a beautiful and powerful mare and this time she didn't have any backup.

Cadence paced the room thankful that her daughter was with her father at the moment since she was sure that the filly would be nothing but questions as to why mommy was being weird.

Cadence let out a high pitched squeal as the doors were pushed open only to be greeted by the mare that had captured her every thought for most of the day, flank sticking through the door making her blush.

Cadence couldn't help but stare until she heard a huff from the mare and school her features just as the mare turned around.

"Sorry Cadence, I think I packed a bit too much for a week together." She smiled sheepishly rubbing the back of her head. To Cadence it was the cutest thing she had ever seen.

"Don't worry about it Twi, you couldn't have packed that much." She said as Twilight gave a nervous laugh as the other door swung open and Cadence gawked at the huge sack that blocked the doorway.

"Ehehe. So what do you want to do?" Twilight blushed as Cadence kept staring at the bag.

"Um well first thing we need to do is get this out of the doorway and somewhere out of the way till we need it." Cadence giggled nudging the blushing mare. The two began to pulled on the huge bag grunting with effort as they pulled.

"What did you pack? *Grunt* Your entire office and bedroom?" Cadence huffed as Twilight blushed.

"Well no.*Oof* Just thing I thought we would need for the week." She said blushing harder just when the bag gave sending the two mares tumbling.

Cadence groaned and looked down to see Twilight under her moaning rubbing her head.

"Ow I think I hit my head." She groaned while Cadence stared at her.

She watched as Twilight looked up at her and blushed while tapping her hooves together.

"Hey um Cadence?" Her voice trembled a little.

"Y-yeah Twi?" She asked as the mare under her would look at her blush and then look back down. It was the cutest thing to Cadence as she smiled down at her.

"Um do you want to come with me to a club later today?" She asked as Cadence beamed on the inside, this is what she had been waiting and hoping would happen.

Cadence sat down straddling Twilight as the powerful mare let a small ' Epp' escape and her blush covered her face.

"Are you asking me out on a date Twi?" Cadence asked blushing herself and could feel the mare under her tremble as she gave a small nervous smile.

"Y-yes?" She stuttered as Cadence grinned.

"Ok, what club do you want to go to?" Cadence asked as the mare beamed up at her.

"Well there's one not to far from the castle or we could go deeper into the city and just find something fun to do." Twilight suggested as Cadence nodded before leaning down pecking the mare on the cheek.

"Well until then let me help you unpack." She said hopping off her and headed to the huge bag with a extra sway to her hips that she could feel Twilight staring at making her feel all giddy inside.

(End Flashback)

"I know but I just dont want you to feel awkward around him or anything is all." Twilight said pulling Cadence into a heated kiss that she was all to happy to return.

As they pulled back Cadence panted a little with glazed over eyes as she looked at the smirking unicorn under her.

'No matter how many times she does it, she gets me every time.' She thought smiling as Twilight got up and headed to the door.

"So when are you going to give Spike and Gilda the news?" Cadence asked.

"Tomorrow actually, once I marry Shining and Rarity I'm handing everything over to Spike and his wife. Then I think I'm gonna get the kids together and we all head to the empire for some momma Cadence time." She said smiling back at the blush on Cadence's face.

"I would love that Twi. How do you think he's gonna take you moving in with me?" She asked as she smiled.

"Cry stallion fluids before threatening you to making sure nothing happens to me or the kids." She shrugged while Cadence paled a little.

"Don't worry so much Cadence, I'm 60% sure that as long as you don't cause it he won't roast you." Twilight said looking back with a smile at her white marefriend.

"I'm only kidding Cadence, Spike adores you and would never hurt you. But he will threaten since we're taking a big step according to the books I read." She smiled as Cadence giggled a little bit.

"That was mean Twi." Cadence said bumping her flank to Twilight's getting laugh out of the mare.

"Anyway so what do you want to do now?" Twilight asked as they came to her room only for the doors to shut behind her and lock making Twilight turn to see a seductive smile on her mare.

"I think you know what I want to do now Twilight." Cadence said breathlessly walking towards her slowly swaying her hips watching a smile spread over Twilight's face.

"Who am I to say no?" She grinned grabbing the mare and throwing her on the bed getting a squeal out of her as Twilight lunged.
