The Rare Sparkling Gems

Chapter 1: Gem Hunt

Gem Hunt

"Ooh!" Rarity exclaimed, her horn lit up with magic. "Over here!" Well, so far it's worked out pretty good. Rarity thought. From what I can tell, she doesn't suspect a thing. Gotta keep up the facade, though.

Twilight pulled the nearly full wagon along behind her as Rarity used magic to dig up the gems. "Remind me, why can't Spike do this?" The lavender mare asked.

She's frustrated now... What's a good excuse? Um... I'll just tell the truth. "Because, darling, he's keeping watch over the boutique." Rarity said, placing the newly-dug gems into the wagon.

"And you can't get somepony else to do that?" Twilight indignantly asked.

Good argument. Well played, Twilight, well played. How do I counter that? She's right, anypony else could have done that... Hm... I'll just lie. "Of course not, Twilight." Rarity said. Excuses, excuses. What could they be doing? Um... Aha!"Everypony else is busy. Rainbow Dash is trying to impress the Wonderbolts, Fluttershy's helping her animals with something - you know how she is - Pinkie Pie's throwing a party, and Applejack is applebucking."

"And you couldn't have had me watch the shop?"

"Boutique, darling, boutique. And no. I think you'd get bored, wouldn't you?"

"No."

"Regardless, Spike will do anything for me. You know how infatuated that dragon is with me."

"Yes, I know."

"Ooh! Here's some more!" Rarity's horn lit up as she walked to a small circle of dirt.

"I'm coming." Twilight groaned, lugging the wagon behind her. She glanced up at the setting sun, which was painting the sky vivid colors of purple, red, orange, and yellow. "Don't you think we should be getting back?" Twilight asked. "It's getting late."

"After these gems, yes." Rarity said. "I don't see what all the fuss is about, I saved you from having to -" Rarity stopped speaking, gazing into the newly-dug hole.

"To... what?" Twilight asked. Rarity remained silent. "What's wrong, Rarity?" Twilight asked, trotting over to the small hole. She looked into it. There sat four gems, intricately sparkling, despite the lack of light.

"These are the rarest gems in Equestria." Rarity said, entranced by the light reflecting off of their perfectly cut surfaces. "You can almost never find them. And if yo do, they'll always be in perfect condition."

"They're beautiful." Twilight said.

"Just like you are." Rarity said, still entranced by the beauty of the gems.

"What?" Twilight asked, stepping back.

Buck my life. "I said that out loud, didn't I?" Rarity asked.

"Yeah." Twilight said. "You did."

"I apologize, Twilight." Rarity said. "I only brought you out here because - because I want to be with you."

"Wow." Twilight said.

"I didn't mean to make you mad or anything, I just like you." Rarity explained. "So naturally, I'm going to want to spend time with you."

"Oh, Rarity, I'm not mad." Twilight said.

"You aren't?" Rarity asked.

"Of course not, Rarity." Twilight said. "And you want to know why?"

"Why?" Rarity asked.

"Because I like you, too." Twilight pressed her lips against Rarity's. Shocked by the sudden turn of events, it took Rarity a few moments to register what was happening, but she shortly caught on, closing her eyes and wrapping them around the lavender mare. Twilight pulled her lips away. "You see, Rarity?" Twilight said. "I wasn't frustrated because I had to come along with you. I was frustrated because I was certain that you weren't a fillygoer."

"Well, you were wrong, Twilight." Rarity said. She kissed her lover once more. The white mare's lips parted in an invitation, one that was gleefully accepted by the purple unicorn. Their tongues explored each others mouths in a wet game of tug of war. Rarity pulled away. "Let's do more." She said, laying down on the ground.

"Okay." Twilight said, straddling the white unicorn. They kissed once more. And, as the sun disappeared behind the horizon, and the moon slowly rose to take its place, the pair transitioned into a much more intimate expression of love. Twilight, normally the less headstrong of the two, took the lead. Twilight moved her hoof downward, and began to massage. Rarity's body writhed in ecstasy.

Twilight rolled off of Rarity. "My turn now." She said, preparing herself for her turn.

Out of breath, Rarity scooted closer to the lavender mare and whispered, "Sure. But I'm not going to copy your technique, darling" Rarity wrapped her lips around Twilight's horn. She rolled her tongue around the magical conduit, causing shivers to race down Twilight's spine. Rarity moved her mouth farther down, until her lips touched the base of her lover's horn.

"Almost - there." Twilight panted, magical quivers blissfully shooting across her body. Rarity's tongue became more adventurous and acrobatic, wrapping around Twilight's horn. Twilight felt a liquid begin to escape from her horn.

"Mmm." Rarity groaned, swallowing. Twilight became short of breath, inhaling in short gasps. Then she magiculated.  A sparkly silver liquid resembling electric glitter glue rocketed from her horn, blasting Rarity a good fifteen yards away. The white mare struggled to her feet and stumbled over to Rarity. "That was - painful" She groaned.

"What?" Twilight asked. "I can't hear you. It's the afterglow." Sure enough, Twilight's horn was emitting soft pulses of light that lit up her coat. They flashed in front of the lavender mare's eyes. She could barely see, hear, taste, feel, or smell anything but a humongous sense of joy.

"Never mind." Rarity said, after waiting for Twilight's afterglow to fade. "Come on, we should get these gems. They're worth a fortune." Rarity helped her lover to her hooves, then lit up her horn so they could see. Twilight carefully lifted up the gems and placed them in the wagon. The two walked home, holding hooves.

-Author's Notes-

This story only exists because I felt like doing a Twi ship. The terminology like "Majiculation" and "Afterglow" came from the story Wake by Homfrog. I hope this doesn't attract any haters, this is probably my worst fic ever. Farewell.
