Wilson save the Queen!
Chapter 6: Chapter 6. Preparations
Previous Chapter Next ChapterThe pathway the pony used to flee was ungodly long and riddled with various obstacles, such as, the stupid bushes and foliage. I was currently following his trail, more simply, he was bleeding, probably due to the encounter back there, and I was simply following the drops of blood leading into the forest.
The amount of blood wasn't that high, so, it's unlikely that he'll die from blood loss, he might go unconscious, perhaps, but not dying from it.
Calling this hunt "tedious" would be an understatement, much like saying that the entire WWII caused some property damage among countries.
"God dammit, I let him escaped twice?" I muttered, "I swear," —I conjured a small fireball in my hand—"I'm going to roast his entire family alive." I directed the fireball towards a nearby boulder, the fireball dispersed after charring the spot that it landed on.
I hacked down the foliage and trees standing in my way with an arcane blade I conjured a while ago, forging a path for me to take. Any unfortunate wildlife that had the misfortune of encountering me was quickly dealt with accordingly; They were swiftly disintegrated to ashes upon sight.
Night draws near, soon, darkness shall cloak the land, thus, making my already tedious task even more tedious. Seeing that I might not have ample enough time to find the escapee and return back, I came to a conclusion, I should probably send a clone to order the changelings to execute the operation to kidnap Derpy.
I swear, if those Changelings manage to end up giving away our cover, I swear I'll burn the lot of em'. And more importantly, if they somehow manage to end up killing Derpy, I might as well cause nuclear fallout on this place.
Dismissing the rather spiteful thought, an idea struck me, I could probably instruct a squad of Changelings to disguise themselves as the Royal guards that were sent to capture me, giving the Changelings entry to Ponyville with ease.
Pausing my slaughter of plants, I took a breath, slashing down foliage is more fatiguing than I originally anticipated. After I regained some of my stamina, I casted the cloning spell.
The clone materialized beside me, with an annoyed look,as if saying, "What so you want?"
"I assume I don't need to explain what you need to do." I said to the other me, the duplicate merely waved his hand dismissively.
"Yeah, yeah. No need for a briefing, I know what I need to do." The clone answered with an annoyed tone before disappearing in a flash of black.
I sighed, time to continue the damn search, I suppose. I readied my blade once more, preparing to hack down vines and shrubbery.
More and more deforestation later, I finally stumbled upon the missing pony, but instead of him being awake, he was laying on the ground, unconscious. Huh, so I was right.
I approached his body slowly with a smirk. It was really tempting to butcher him in pieces, but I resisted. I drifted my face closely to his ear, "Have I ever told you the definition of insanity?" I whispered.
The desired effect occurred, he quickly bolted up, he shot a stare at me with fearful eyes. He staggers backward, if he could still run, he would probably do so right now, however, exhaustion, and blood loss probably prohibits him from doing so.
"Insanity is... doing the exact same thing over and over while expecting something different each time." I quoted.
He steps backwards, preparing to bolt once more. I shot a bolt of energy at him, he recoils back , when he checked himself for any injuries, to his surprise, nothing seemed off, he wasn't melting, nor was any of his limbs missing, he sighed in relief. Ha! If only he knew.
"What- what did you do to me?" He finally asked.
My face quickly adorned a smug smirk, "Oh, nothing really," I stated, one of his eyebrows arch, "I just placed a spell on you." I quickly added.
He gulps, "What sort of spell?" He hesitated to ask, worrying what my answer might be. This only fueled my entertainment. I had to struggle not
"Something that I came up a while ago... I may now detonate you whenever I want to, thanks to the spell I placed on you." I answered.
Sadly, it's only temporary, the magic eventually wears off after a day, thus, causing the hex to deactivate. Huh? That's odd, how could I possibly managed to know about that? It's no lie, I'm a novice at magic.
His eyes widen in shock. Heh, his reaction is priceless.
He yelled something about rather dying than being my prisoner, or something, but, after one simple threat about killing one of his friends, the pony was coerced into following me back to the Hive. I would've teleported the both of us there, but, like I stated from before, I am not certain on how to teleport more than one being.
"Where are we? This is definitely not the way back." The pony whined.
"Yeah? Well... do you know how to navigate through this place?" I retorted.
He simply shrugs, "This forest is wild and vague, not even a map of this place exists," He rolls his eyes. "so, yeah, of course I know how to navigate this place." He sarcastically responded.
God dammit, even more wandering through this stupid forest? Gah, I swear I'll burn this place to the ground when I have the chance. Oh wait, I actually posses the power to do so, however, I think I'll just leave it alone, for now.
Meanwhile, the other Wilson arrived back to the changeling hideout...
"Hey! I'm back!" I exclaimed as I opened the castle walls, a crowd of changelings were apparently awaiting my arrival, they cheered as I entered the castle, huh, they must be eager to launch the kidnapping operation.
As I walked through the crow, I was greeted by a familiar sight, Andrei emerged from the crowd of changelings and rushed towards me.
"Wil! What took you so long, it's almost morning, we have to find this "Derpy" character before she leaves for Canterlot." He bashed.
"I haven't forgotten about that, mind you, and I've already got a plan to get our changelings within Ponyville." I stated.
"Really now? Mind tell me what it is?" Andrei questioned.
"Simple, we disguise as the guards that were looking for me."
"Hm, simple indeed. But that might work." Andrei replied, "One minor problem, you won't be able to enter." He added.
"No matter, I'll find a way in." I casually replied.
"Heh, I hope what you're doing," He warned, "By the way, where's the escapee?"
My face featured a sheepish smile, "Heh, about that..."
Back to the original Wilson...
"Okay, we're back here..." I said as we finally managed to backtrack all the way back to the charred ruins of my wrath. It looked... really dark, nothing but burnt trees, cinder, and ashes fills up the formerly green part of the forest, thankfully, no one bothered to check the place, regardless of the smoke, and light that originated from it.
"I can see that." The pony exasperated.
Urge to kill rising... but I dismissed it, barely. I managed to keep myself calm enough to refrain from saying anything that might traumatize him, such as, the things back in my world, because, I am quite certain that events and things that we humans did or do would be much, much more grim, in contrast to these miniature equines.
Oh yes, much, much more grim.
More wandering through the forest later, through our dumb luck, we managed to stumble upon a manticore blocking the pathway. Fortunately, it was in a rather peaceful slumber, giving us ample enough space and time to decide a method of passing.
"So, kill it or leave it? I asked, not even looking at the pony beside me.
"What?" He was startled by my question.
"I said," I readied a ball of lethal force in my palm and aimed at the sleeping beast, "Kill it or leave it?"
"We leave it!" He exclaimed, "Of course!" He added, as if implying that was the obvious answer.
"Fine, fine." I drew back the power stored in the blast.
"So, riddle me this, how are we going to pass through?"
"Don't you have exceptional magical ability?"
"True, but I got nothing, like I said, I can't teleport the both of us."
"Why not?"
"I simply don't know how to," I shrugged.
"Why not levitate me over the manticore, and then teleport over?" He suggested.
"Oh yeah," I deadpanned, "One problem, you have to know the location, you're trying to teleport to, which this Manticore is blocking, before you can warp to it, not only is this manticore large enough, it's also dark as all hell." I stated.
He sighs, and proceeds to attempt to conjure another alternative.
An idea hits me, "You know, I can just use a potent sedation spell on it." I suggested.
"Why didn't you say that before?"
"You never asked," I said before shooting the manticore with a purple beam-like ray, the thing didn't even react, not a single flinch. The spell might have worked.
"Did it work?" He asked cautiously while eying on the manticore.
"Only one way to find out." I shot a magically-formed, non-lethal arrow on the manticore's body. It wasn't going that fast, but it managed to stick itself in the manticore. Blood burst out as the arrow hit its target.
No reaction, the manticore is still in its slumber. If the spell wasn't in effect, that manticore would have awoken in a berserk state of rage.
"Hey! It worked!" I cheered.
"You couldn't find a better way to test that?" He protested.
"Well, the spell worked, didn't it?"
Back to Wilson number two...
"So, you're not Wilson?" Andrei asked quizzically.
"I am," I stated, "Just a clone of him." I clarified.
I managed to rally the changelings for the operation, they've been ordered to shape-shift into the Royal guards that were either captured or killed by us. Me and the "Royal guards" are currently passing through the route that takes us to the wall surrounding Ponyville.
"Hm, so you're telling me that the original Wilson is currently searching for the escapee?"
"Well, if I do say so myself, I think I would be able to capture him by now."
"That sounds somewhat complicated." Marisa joined in, she apparently wants to procure more spell books from Ponyville, thus, she is joining this mission.
"Aye, indeed it is." I concluded.
After that conversation ended, only the sounds of our steps was heard as we traveled further, it shouldn't be long now until we reach that damn wall.
"Tell me, Wilson, what is it like in your world?" Marisa asked.
That question is something I've anticipated for a long time, however, I didn't exactly prepared myself for.
"Er, well, to some degree, it's much alike to yours," I described, "Just, a lot more buildings and technological marvels strewn about instead of the great wilderness." I added.
"You said that humans are void of magic, how is it possible for you to build these things that the ponies, nor us can we ever dream of building?" She asked.
I pondered before finally reaching an answer, "I guess... it's either determination or the will to do so." I answered.
"Perhaps we should save this conversation for later? I can already see the wall from here." Andrei interrupted.
And he was right, the wall was indeed in sight, I could feel an evil smirk creeping in my mouth. Too bad I can't see the operation as it progresses.
"Well, go on! You know the plan, find the blonde mare with the derpy eyes and the bubble cutie mark, knock her out, kidnap her, replace her, then the mission will be successful." The two changelings nodded.
"Remember! Use the Hive mind!" Marisa reminded me before departing with the rest of the changelings.
What's the Hive mind you ask? Perhaps I'll tell you later, but, I'll tell you this, I had to endure a sizable amount of pain to receive it. Next Chapter: Chapter 7. Camping out Estimated time remaining: 33 Minutes
