Derpy lived in a time before Equestria was founded. She lived in Pegatown. This was a small town of the Pegasus nation. Of course, Derpy wasn't her real name at the time. Derpy was a name given later in her life. Her real name was Bubbles. She loved bubbles. Whenever she would feel down, she would fly down to the forest and blow bubbles. This made her feel happy. Bubbles wasn't a very popular Filly at school, so she found herself blowing bubble at recess alone during school. Bubble didn't care. She knew that when she went home she would have her loving family there to cheer her up. Why should she care what the other Fillies thought of her? She loved her life. That made everything better.

"Bubbles! Welcome back from school! How was your day? Did you learn anything new?" Bubbles' Mom was always happy to see her when she came home from school.

"It was great Mom! I learned what a Cutie Mark is! I even know how to get one!" Bubbles was so excited. She wanted a Cutie Mark so bad.

"That's great Bubbles! What do you want to be special in? I can help!" Bubbles' Mom was happy to see into doing something else other than watching the plays in town square.

"I want to have a bubble for a Cutie Mark. I love bubbles, and it fits my bubbly personality too!" Bubbles was so excited once again. She knew her Mom would help her.

"Of course I'll help you with your goal. But lets wait 'till your father come home, okay?" Bubbles agreed and went up to her room.

Bubbles had tons of toys to play with. The one she loved most of all was set that had a Unicorn doll, a Pegasus doll, and an Earth Pony doll. She wouldn't make them have tea parties or go to formal dances, she would make them go on adventures. She played with them until her father came home, and she would go down and greet him. It was her everyday schedule she made for herself.

After a little bit of playing, she heard her front door close downstairs. She placed her toys in a position so she would remember where she left off in her adventure story, and went downstairs to greet her father.

"Hi Dad! How was work? Did anyone buy your idea to make it a new thing yet?" Bubbles loved to hear about everyone's day. It made her feel apart of something.

Her Dad let out a sigh. "No, not yet Bubbles... I just don't think a saddle for a Pegasus is just worth the investment" Her Dad was a bit sad.

"Don't worry, Dad! Someone will buy the idea off of you someday!" Bubbles was always enthusiastic about anything that went on around her.

"Oh guess what dear, I got you something!" When he heard Bubbles sweet voice cheer him up, it reminded him he bought her a new toy set.

"What is it Dad?" Bubbles was curious about what her father could have bought her.

"Hold out your hoof..." Bubbles held out her hoof. A box was placed in it.

"It's yours to keep Bubbles. I found it in the toy store. It was the last one there and someone else outside was talking about buying it. So I ran in and got it for you. I know how much you were looking for this." Bubbles Dad didn't have a lot of money. So she felt a bit sad. She was going to tell him to return it but her dad was so happy and proud of himself that he found this rare toy for her.

"Wow. I'm amazed, Dad! This is one of the most rare toys in the set! Thank you! You're the best!" Bubbles jumped up and gave her Dad a big hug, which made everyone smile.

"Now go on upstairs and play with your new toy. I know you'll have fun!" Bubbles listened to her Dad and ran upstairs.

"What's the real reason you bought that toy for her?" Bubbles Mom knew he would never go out and spend money like that.

"I did it to distract her from what's going to happen soon. I can't let her here this." Her fathers voice changed from happy to depressed when he said that.

"What's happening soon? Nothing terribly bad right?" Her Mom was concerned. She could tell her husband was totally serious, She also looked sad, even though she didn't yet know what was happening.

"The Unicorns are attacking this village. We stand no chance. We have no guards left from the last attack." Bubbles Mom was almost in tears. She tried coming up with a solution.

"What about leaving? Can't we leave!? We can't stay here!" She knew something wasn't right. If they could just straight up leave he would have thought of that.

"The Unicorns had placed a magic barrier around the town. There's no escaping. We're dead." Her dad said, as he put his head down to sleep...

Upstairs, Bubbles opened up her new toy. There was even more in the box than there was on the cover of the box. It was new design of the three Ponies she already had. But it also came with a male version of the three types of Ponies. It also came with six baby Ponies, a small house that could be opened and a few chairs for them to sit in. Bubbles was so happy. That is, until she heard a large bang outside. She ran downstairs. Two Unicorns had a hold of her parents. The Unicorns didn't notice her, but her parents did. In a weary voice, her mother spoke to her. "Run..." Right after she said that, the two Pegasi fell to the cold hard ground dead. The two Unicorn began to search the place. Bubbles ran up, grabbed her three original Pony toys, and glided out the window.

Bubbles ran. Huge blasts could be heard from all over town. Magical explosions of purple were everywhere. Bubbles didn't know what to do. She just ran all over town. She didn't stop until something happened. Something that would change her life forever. She was hit. A magical explosion happened only two meters in front of her. She got hit by the blast, not the magic bolt itself. So she didn't die. She was severely injured.

A few days later Bubbles woke up. She was in the hospital. She had no clue what had happened. A nurse and a few other Ponies looked down on her bed to see her. Her eyes were messed up. Bubbles couldn't see straight, but she could see.

"Who is she?" A Pony asked.

"She looks a little... Well Derpy." The nurse said.

"Well than that's what we'll call her! Derpy! Are you okay? You were hit by a magic blast. You're lucky you're still alive." Bubbles new name was Derpy. No one knew her real name but Derpy herself, and she liked it that way.

Derpy flew down to the surface where she always did and blew bubbles as she cried. She remembered the sight of her parents death. As she was blowing bubbles, a large light shone around her. She didn't care. She just continued to blow bubbles while tears fell down her cheek. A tear fell into one of her bubbles. Another light, not as big, appeared. She looked down at her flank. There were bubbles there. She smiled a bit and continued crying. Little did she know, an Earth Pony had been watching this whole time. He felt bad. He walked up to Derpy.

"Hey there. What's your name? Do you live around here?" The Earth Pony had a nice voice. Derpy looked back to see the Pony. The Pony had a brown coat, a brown mane and tale, and an hourglass for a Cutie Mark. And behind the man was a large blue box.

"Wh-Who are you!? Are you going to hurt me!? Please don't!" Derpy's mind was scattering with fear. She was scared he was going to kill her. After all, there is a war going on.

The man spoke to her again "Why would I do that?" Derpy gave him a look like he was stupid. "You're an EARTH PONY! That's what you do! You and the Unicorns HATE us!" When Derpy said that the man realized when he was.

"I see now. What's your name?" He asked.

Derpy immediately answered. "My names Bubbles... But everyone calls me Derpy because the magic blasts hurt my head and made me dizzy..."

The man understood. "I'm The Doctor. I can't stay for long now. I have to go. But I'll be back in 15 years. Remember my face." Derpy trusted him for some reason. The Doctor walked into the blue box, and the box disappeared with him in it.

Derpy flew back into Pegatown to see that her house was destroyed. She had no where to stay, so she became a beggar. She was very good at this job, too. Due to her eyes being off centered, people thought she was cute, and felt sorry for her. She always begged near the town bakery. Begging here got here a lot of treats. Her favorite treat was when someone gave her a banana nut muffin. When she got that she would thank the giver a million times and then eat the muffin slowly. She did this for years.

Ten years went by and she kept her true name and the encounter with the strange Earth Pony to herself. She was fifteen, and begging for food. Ponies gave. Everyone knew her, but not her real name, she was just called Derpy. Her eyes never went back to normal. She even learned to control her eyes to see in two different directions. Her life wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either! She even had regulars who knew that she loved a certain muffin and they would buy an extra one just for her. Derpy was happy.

Another five years go by. Derpy counted the days of her encounter with the strange Earth Pony and today was exactly fifteen years since. She flew down to the spot where she met 'The Doctor'. She waited, while blowing bubbles. It brought back good and bad memories. She started to weep a bit. But there were also some tears of joy. While this was happening, a light shone. She looked back with hope. It was him. The Doctor didn't lie. He remembered after fifteen years.

"Oh my... it's you. I didn't think you'd remember." The Doctor invited her into the box. The inside was huge. Nothing compared to what it looked like from the outside.

"What is this thingy?" Derpy was confused. As she often was.

"This is my Phone Box. It's called the Tardis. See, I saw the filly you only a few minutes ago. This machine travels through time. I want to take you somewhere. By the way... My more formal name is Doctor Whooves." Whooves began to pull levers and making noises, and the Tardis started to rumble.

"What's happening!? Doctor!?" Derpy was scared. Then suddenly, it stopped. They walked out and they were in a more colorful place.

"Follow me Derpy." Whooves said.

Whooves took Derpy all around Ponyville. Derpy was confused. Whooves looked over at her. This was her new home. This place was strange. All three types of Ponies were coexisting together. No fights or anything. A rainbow colored pony flew by and noticed the new comer.

"Hey Fluttershy! Come meet the new Pegasus! Her eyes are funny!" The Rainbow Pony shouted. Derpy looked sad."Hey I'm sorry... I didn't mean to hurt your feelings? Are you okay? I'm Rainbow Dash."

Derpy looked up a the Pegasus "I'm Derpy."

Rainbow Dash smiled at Derpy as the other Pegasus flew down to meet her.

"Hello there! What's your name?" Asked a yellow Pony.

"That's Derpy. She has cool eyes." Derpy looked at Rainbow Dash with a thankful look, because Rainbow Dash was trying to get others to not make fun of her eyes.

"Sorry gals, but I must show Derpy around town. Catch you later." Whooves took Derpy back to his place. "Here is your new place. Your room is up here... "

Five years later and Derpy was accepted by the other Ponies in Ponyville. Derpy even got married to Whooves and had a Filly named Dinky Hooves! Today was the anniversary to the day Derpy met Doctor Whooves. Dinky had left to go to school. Derpy and Whooves sat on the couch.

"Remember the day I met you?" Whooves and Derpy looked at each other on the couch. "You were crying as a Filly. Because your family had died. That's why I took you here. To show you that all Ponies can get along! I felt sorry for you. But I couldn't take you as a Filly, so I went forward into the future. Then I took you. Do you remember, Derpy?"

He looked at Derpy. Derpy gave him a big hug. "Yes!" Derpy sat there hugging him for a while. Whooves spoke to Derpy in the voice that he did when they first met. "I love you... Bubbles."
