Prologue: A Dire Situation

PROLOGUE: A DIRE SITUATION

It was a beautiful day in Canterlot City to say the least, and luckily for Sunset Shimmer she held a pretty steady part-time job in order to sustain herself financially. Well that and besides the fact that she also had certain advantages and insight into things others were commonly unaware of, she was certainly able to take care of herself. It was the early morning however, and most people were still sleeping in their beds, about to prepare themselves for the long day ahead of them. It was a school day of course, and for Sunset Shimmer, that meant it'd be another day of listening to constant bickering regarding her mistakes at the Fall Formal. She was still being forced to compensate for what she'd done, and help clean up and reconstruct the school, so life wasn't very appealing to her at the moment. So as the roosters sang their morning songs, and the crows chirped and cawed towards the pale blue skies, Sunset Shimmer tiredly and sluggishly, opened her eyes. She had deep bags underlining them.

She sprawled out atop her bed, yawning as she did so and taking some time to simply stare at the ceiling. She didn't often dwell on the past much, but ever since Twilight Sparkle had come and ruined her perfect plans, she felt as if she didn't have much of a choice. Now of course she was welling with regret, memories of the past which haunted her and caused her to question her convictions and reasons for doing what she did. Sadly Sunset knew she had no sob story, that she had no righteous reason for doing what she did; she simply wanted power, she wanted to rule, and she wanted to be a princess. Well, those dreams were out of her reach now so she told herself she might as well move on. She wore a grumpy face tossing and turning a bit in her blankets, before grumbling and simply crawling out of bed and landing on all four hooves. Sunset Shimmer yawned once again before padding her muzzle, then heading to her bathroom. She lived in a suburban neighborhood and a pretty decent two storied house.

She looked in the mirror with a tired smile, seeing her typical pony face. She winked, "Lookin gooooood Sunset." She then washed her face and brushed her teeth with the aid of her magic, using her horn to hold the toothbrush and wet the towel. It was all a natural process for her it seemed, and she didn't pay any mind to any of it. Soon afterwords she sat on her bed, and then began combing through her mane, ensuring it was nice and puffy and vibrant as usual. Looks were important to her, despite what some may have thought. Sunset just continued to go about her daily routine.

She soon made her way downstairs, turning on the living room television set with her telekinetic magic, taking control of the remote and turning on the news which she didn't pay any mind to really. After that she got herself a bowl of cereal, munching on it happily with an amused smile. "Oh gosh! Gotta give it to Trix's family sometime, Trixie's Trix are absolutely amazing!....No wonder she's so spoiled!" As she went through her cabinet, she had a contemplative expression, "Maybe I'll pick up some Octavios next. Pretty good I hear to." She shrugged before just taking her bowl of trix over to the couch, sitting down, and finishing them as she watched the news. Eventually as Sunset Shimmer just sat there, munching, relaxing on the couch, she yawned tiredly before looking towards the window, then at the time on a fancy clock hanging on the wall. She frowned then, "Sigh...."

It was time to head to Canterlot High it seems.

Sunset Shimmer hopped from the couch lazily, before trotting on over to the door. All her motions were routine, and she'd done everything as she usually did, yet for some reason something felt a little out of place and she just couldn't put her hoof on it. She shook her head, relieving herself of such a meaningless thought, as she'd concentrated back on the routine of her day. Oh yea, what was she supposed to do again? Of course! She was supposed to put on her shoes now. Sunset Shimmer wore a soft smile as she looked down at her shoes situated near the door as she made her way over to them. She looked down at them still with that soft ordinary smile, before lifting her hoof, preparing to place one in. But it was also in that moment she immediately paused.

"..................." Sunset Shimmer still smiled, while staring at the shoe, and her hoof.

After a brief moment of silence, she looked at her hoof more closely before simply uttering, "Hm?......"

Another brief period of silence followed, before Sunset Shimmer's eyes slowly widened. "......"

And she screamed in absolute horror.

"EYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!"

Outside, a group of individuals halted in front of Sunset's house with raised brows, before shrugging and moving on ahead.

One of those individuals remained however, looking over worriedly at Sunset's house.

Sunset Shimmer immediately bolted upstairs hurriedly, scurrying up the steps and practically clawing at her wooden floor with a horrified, paranoid look. "No, no no no no no! W-What!? What is this!? This can't be happening!" She immediately smashed through her door, skidding on the ground and then doing a sharp turn and running into the bathroom, and simply staring at herself in the mirror. Sunset Shimmer ran her hoof down her face for a second, as she'd trembled during the process. "What is this? What's, what's happening to me? Why am I-.."

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!

Sunset Shimmer's eyes snapped wide even further. NOW!? NOW OF ALL TIMES!? "W-WHO IS IT!?"

Waiting outside Sunset Shimmer's house would be two young girls with backpacks, obviously students also from Canterlot High. They had raised brows as one had quite the colorful hairstyle and a light blue tint to her skin, in similarity to a living rainbow. She seemed skeptical and quite suspicious, "Sunset, it's Rainbow Dash! Are you okay in there? What're you doing? We were on our way to school when a group of students told us they heard a scream come from your house. It's not like you to still be home around this time."

The second girl, one who bore snow white skin along with sporty curls and deep violet hair, blinked a bit, while also looking up curiously and suspiciously at her second story window. "Darling, this is Rarity! Please come out! This is all quite strange!"

Sunset Shimmer shouted back at them from her room, "GO AWAY! I-I'M FINE!....Thanks though!"

Rainbow Dash and Rarity glanced at one another, still not buying it.

Rainbow Dash made an annoyed look. "Sunset! We're supposed to take care of you! And we plan to do just that!" She situated herself in front of the door, and readied herself to kick it open, raising a leg without fear of breaking and entering.

Rarity curled in her palms before pressing them against her chest. "Oh do hurry Rainbow Dash! These are all the signs of someone who is in a deep depression! I mean, just think about it! The poor girl has isolated herself in her room! She's been depressed ever since the Fall Formal, she's not exactly popular with anybody as of now, OH the poor the thing! WE TRULY MUST HELP HER!"

Rainbow nodded to Rarity seriously, then glanced back up at Sunset's second story window. "Sunset! We're coming in!"

Rarity then pulled out a cellphone, flipping it open with urgency. "I'll tell the others to come help us right away!"

Sunset's brow immediately twitched as she'd snarled like a mad dog in her bathroom, fuming angrily. "W-WHAT!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE COMING IN!? THIS IS MY HOUSE! GET OUT OF HERE RAINBOW DASH, RARITY!" There was a lengthy silence there afterwords, and noticing they didn't reply, Sunset's ears lowered as her jaw dropped, "Oh no...." She then rushed out of her bathroom, before hurrying over into the second story hall and then attempting to reach her front door before it was too late, and the moment she'd arrived at the top of the stairway, her door was immediately kicked in. Sunset Shimmer shrieked in fear, before hurrying back over to her room, trotting like a mad mare and slamming her door shut behind her.

However the door didn't shut all the way, being damaged due to her actions earlier. "A-Are you kidding me!?"

Standing in the open doorway would be Rainbow Dash and Rarity, as Rainbow Dash gripped her bag straps tightly.

Rarity looked at Rainbow Dash worriedly, "Rainbow Dash are you alright? You seem upset darling?"

Rainbow Dash's eyes saddened as she glanced down at the floor and thought back to Sunset Shimmer at the prom, and then recalled the promise they made to Twilight Sparkle. She'd glanced back at Rarity intensely. "Obviously if Sunset's depressed, we haven't been helping her any. I'm not going to let her sulk like this, I'm going to drag her out if I have to. She's our friend now."

Rarity nodded hurriedly to Rainbow Dash with a look of adoration, "Oh...Rainbow Dash, you're so caring...." Rarity then cupped her mouth, shutting upstairs with motivation. "Don't worry Sunset, we'll be there soon! Just hang in there darling!"

Sunset Shimmer trembled as she'd remained behind her door, pacing heavily. "What the heck are you two talking about!? I'M FINE! I'M FINE I'M FINE I'M FINE! Please, n-now..just...just go away for a bit!? I need some time to myself!"

Rarity snapped back in retort from downstairs, as they were heading up as she spoke. "Holding it all inside won't help any, darling!"

Sunset slammed her hooves on her room floor angrily, "GRAH!" But that's when she recalled, "Wait...I'm a unicorn again..." The realization hit her as her horn started to glow, and she'd used her magic which was horribly rusty, to move the furniture over to the back of the door to keep it shut. "Hah...Hahahahaha! Now what will you do girls?! I was an ace student of Celestia you know!"

Rarity's expression immediately sunk from outside the door. "Ace student of Principal Celestia!?...Oh goodness, she's gone mad Rainbow!"

Rainbow Dash shoved the door tiredly, attempting to open it. "I know! S-Sunset, just calm down and listen to us!"

Sunset Shimmer's nose scrunched up. "Wha? N-NO you idiots not Principal Cele-...OH forget it!" Sunset Shimmer then smirked. She muttered quietly to herself in amusement, "Sorry girls, while you're busy with that, I'll be making my escape. Heh!" She then looked at the second story window, before wincing at it. Can't use the second story window, it's way too obvious and public, hah, but I'm a unicorn, I'll just take the back route, with teleportation magic! Sunset Shimmer then sprinted towards the back wall of her room, and in that moment she disappeared in a flash of smoke using her relocation magic.

Sunset Shimmer skidded atop dirt and grass as she'd landed outside her home and then staggered to her hooves. She shook her head for a minute, regaining her composure before glancing back at her home with a smirk. "Hah! Later ladies!" And as she turned to face forward, there standing on a sidewalk leading through the back route not far from her home, Sunset Shimmer found three other figures staring right back at her with wide eyes. "Eh?" Sunset Shimmer didn't even have time to react to them, as they all just stared at her, and she recognized each and every one of them. "A-Applejack?.....Pinkie?......And, Fluttershy?"

Suddenly joining the three would be a hurried and rushed Principal Celestia, appearing frantic as she was wearing a bright white and yellow track suit, sweating as she'd met up with the three. "G-Girls, there you are! Is everything alright!? Where is Rainbow Dash and Rarity, I made my way down here as fast as I could! What of Sunset Shimmer!? Is she okay!? Where is she!?" Principal Celestia, attempting to catch her breath, then immediately followed the girl's gazes, catching sight of the pony. "...Hm?"

There was, yet another, brief; moment of silence.

Sunset Shimmer simply lowered her head as her face darkened, and she turned away from them. "..............."

And not soon afterwords, the mare burst into hysterical laughter. "BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AHA- AHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Applejack, Pinkie, and Fluttershy all just continued to watch with expressions of disbelief at the laughing equine.

Sunset Shimmer just simply rolled around on the ground, laughing ecstatically. "AHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!" Her tail swayed, as she couldn't catch her breath or regain her composure. "EHEHEHEHEH, AHUHUHU, AHAHAHAHAHA!!" She laid flat on her back, kicking her hooves frantically in the air. "AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

What, a stupid day.

Chapter 1: Magic's the Kicker!

CHAPTER 1: MAGIC'S THE KICKER!

Sunset Shimmer wore a panicked expression still, as she'd cut through in-between a few houses, attempting to remain unseen by her pursuers. However the more the situation progressed, the more panicked she'd became. She took pathways which allowed her to cut through the backyards of others houses. The mare's heart raced as she gave hushed but rapid breaths, glancing back for a second before she'd tripped and stumbled over a stick. The mare scurried back up to her hooves, as she'd teleported using her magic to give herself a few more feet of a head-start. Sunset paused for a moment, just taking a second to look back again for a good long while as her eyes scanned the area for any witnesses, like a frightened animal. Okay okay, calm down Sunset,...I'm sure everything's gonna be alright, remember your studies, remember your lessons.

But suddenly, with her sneaker's skidding through the dirt and wearing a determined expression as she'd made a sharp turn already facing Sunset's direction would be that same rainbow haired girl whom entered the mare's home out of worry, and of course, of her own accord. She had her head lowered at first, as she then gave Sunset a fierce and piercing glare.

Sunset's eyes snapped wide at the sight of her, before the mare shook her head and actually harbored a look of fear in regards to her presence. The mare turned away, and then teleported yet again and reappeared atop the tiled roof of a house. But as Sunset reached the top of that specific house, she'd immediately had trouble keeping her balance as she kicked tiles from the roof and nearly slipped off in her attempt to stay on it, as she'd desperately crawled and ran on it with her hooves before moving on ahead.

Rainbow Dash expressed a great deal of worry in seeing the mare almost slip off the house, as she'd cried out, "Sunset!" But after seeing Sunset also regain her balance and still make her way on ahead, Rainbow Dash exhaled heavily, placing her palm on her chest before glancing up worriedly at the mare's previous location with a frustrated look.

Then immediately making that same turn Rainbow had done earlier, Applejack had caught up with the mare with a lasso in hand. Applejack glanced around a bit herself as well before looking to Rainbow, breathing heavily. "W-Where's she at Rainbow Dash?"

Rainbow Dash shook her head, and lowered it with a sigh and saddened expression before placing her hands on her hips. "She's a lot faster than she used to be, but I don't get why she's running away from us like that. I-I mean....well, sure she's a pony now, but we just want to help her! It's not like she has anything to be afraid of! Why won't she just talk to us!?"

Applejack frowned heavily before flashing Rainbow a patient, gentle smile. "All in due time Dash! But how bout we CATCH her first before she gets herself into any more trouble. You heard Principal Celestia, things could get bad with this."

Rainbow then looked to Applejack in frustration. "Well I get that Applejack, but how the heck are we supposed to catch her the way she is now!? I mean, you've seen what she's capable of like that, she can even use magic and stuff like we did at the fall formal! She's leagues ahead of us no matter what we do, we've gotta convince her to stop running!"

Applejack blinked a bit before rubbing her chin. "Well I don't know about that Rainbow..."

Rainbow Dash just groaned before crossing her arms impatiently, "And what's that supposed to mean?"

Applejack remained silent as she just shook her head, "Nevermind! The longer we stay here dilly dallying and talking about how to catch her instead of actually doin it, the further Sunset gets away from us! So come on Rainbow, let's go!"

Rainbow rolled her eyes, before the two continued off into a sprint, in the same direction Sunset went.

A lengthy amount of time had passed, since Rainbow Dash and Applejack had left to pursue Sunset Shimmer. Although those who'd remained behind were far from suspicious, in a way, Principal Celestia expected as much.

Principal Celestia, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity all remained at Sunset's home for any signs of what may have caused such events to transpire. Rarity couldn't help but frown the more she looked through the house, only to find areas of empty space, no clues, and just stale furniture placed there for filling or decoration. "Oh the poor girl. She's remained cooped up in here ever since the Fall Formal." Rarity made a bit of a light scowl for a second, muttering "I mean, of course Sunset Shimmer did this to herself however, but still!-" She looked at Principal Celestia with a raised brow. "Principal Celestia, shouldn't we be out there helping Rainbow Dash and Applejack? I mean- you said it yourself, that it could get bad if she's just running around out there."

Fluttershy curled in her arms worriedly up to her lip in a similar fashion to the fetal position, before looking down worriedly. "P-Poor Sunset, she must be so scared out there, feeling all alone. But why does she look like that?...I-Is that what she looked like originally?...I mean...uhm...b-before she came here? She was from the same place Twilight's from....right?"

Principal Celestia paused, before glancing over at Fluttershy. "I assume you're correct Fluttershy. That is more than likely the true form of Sunset Shimmer. Somehow she must've unexpectedly reverted back to her original state." She then glanced over at Rarity to give her concerns some regard. "I understand how you feel Rarity, truly I do. I'd much rather be out there helping with Sunset's retrieval as well, but as we are, the only ones actually capable of keeping up with her are Rainbow Dash and Applejack, we'd only get left behind. Even in a car we'd have trouble tracking her down since Sunset's smart enough to know the streets are filled with people. She's likely attempting to do what she can to remain out of the public's eye." Principal Celestia swiped the remote off the counter, before turning up the volume on the TV and  turning to a specific news channel. "Plus, we've got to pay attention to this."

It was only then, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie regarded the TV.

Pinkie Pie whined a bit, "Ooooooh! Can we change the channel please Principal Celestia!? This isn't any fun!"

Principal Celestia then raised one finger before shaking her head, "Listen Pinkie Pie."

On the TV, a young woman remained situated at a table as she regarded her partner with a smile. Appearing in the upper right corner of the television screen would be clips of, scenarios that were more then unreasonable.

"Yes, that's right Nancy News! It seems we're in for a bunch of excitement in regards to these latest phenomenons. From floating cars, to rapid rivers coursing through the city streets! Even the weather has been strange lately! Whatever's happening, it seems someone is having one heck of a time amusing himself! What could be the cause of these anomalies? What's the reason?"

Principal Celestia then lowered the volume before sighing. "It seems that it's been playing on the news since early this morning. Of course it was soon afterwords you all gave me a call, but after seeing Sunset Shimmer in such a form, things are starting to piece themselves together more clearly. Many won't be happy with Sunset after they find out she's likely the cause of this."

Rarity glanced up at Principal Celestia, "Magical anomalies?"

Principal Celestia nodded with her own arms crossed, before frowning heavily. "Yes."

Rarity shrugged, shaking her head. "Then that must be the reason why Sunset Shimmer turned into a pony again!"

Principal Celestia nodded, turning to Rarity. "That's what I'm assuming as well Rarity."

Pinkie Pie gasped wildly, before jumping up and bursting for the door. "OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH! FUNNY WEATHER, RIVER STREETS, FLOATING CARS AND MORE!? YIPPEE! I'll be right back guys!"

Principal Celestia reached out a hand to Pinkie hurriedly, "W-Wait a second Pinkie, we've got to wait for Applejack and-"

Pinkie didn't listen as she immediately opened the door, but was blocked by Rainbow Dash. "Eh?"

That's when Principal Celestia's eyes widened as well, "R-Rainbow Dash? What're you doing here?"

Rainbow Dash wore a heavy frown, as she glanced up worriedly at Principal Celestia. "It's not good Principal Celestia......"

Principal Celestia's expression sunk with worry written all over her face.

Rainbow continued, "I don't think we'll be able to get Sunset back anymore, well for erhm...obvious reasons."

Meanwhile, down on another city street, Applejack had her face covered with her palm. "Darnit...."

And surrounded by a multitude of people, would be Sunset Shimmer as she remained sitting, leaning against the outside of a house. She was blocking the others out with a magical barrier which'd encircled a perimeter surrounding her. Sunset Shimmer just ignored each and every one of them, and didn't wear any expression as she had her head lowered the entire time.

Sunset Shimmer thought back to a nostalgic recalling she felt befitted her current situation.

It was a beautiful day then, back in the kingdom of Canterlot.

All of that felt so long ago.

"Out of my way! Hah, do you know who I am? I'm the student of Princess Celestia!" Sunset Shimmer was a filly at the time, and she stood over another particular filly with a smirk. The other filly was a bit younger from the looks of it, but Sunset didn't care, she just snickered a bit before trotting past her. "It's ponies like me who're destined for greatness! You average ponies best step aside, ahahaha! I mean really, to bump into me, you must be really daft in the head kid. You're lucky I don't have you arrested."

The little purple filly rose as she gathered her books with her magic and then nodded nervously. "I-I'm sorry! Thank you!" She then blinked, before shaking her head and hurrying on. "Oh no oh no! I'm gonna be late! I've got to hurry! E-Excuse me!" She then hurried past Sunset Shimmer in the direction of the castle, not looking back once.

Sunset Shimmer glanced back, before snickering in amusement. "Hah! You better be sorry." The little filly then made her way on ahead, trekking down the tiled road with her head raised and eyes closed. "OOF-" She'd then bumped into somepony. Again!? Sunset Shimmer groaned heavily, as she looked ahead and snapped, "Do you know who I am, I'm-" Sunset's expression sunk heavily however as she noticed the figure standing before her was all too familiar. There stood Princess Celestia, looking down at her student with a scornful glare, so full of disappointment. Sunset found herself frozen, unable to speak.

Princess Celestia sighed heavily, "Yes...I do." She then turned away, before nudging her head in the direction of the castle gardens. "Come Sunset, we've got much we need to discuss."

Sunset Shimmer made a tired look as she lowered her head with a sigh, "Ugh...." Here we go again she thought.

As Sunset Shimmer and Princess Celestia trekked through the Canterlot gardens, Celestia appeared conflicted and unsure as she used her magic to pluck a flower. She looked at it desperately, before closing her eyes and dropping it to the ground before muttering quietly to herself, "I was hoping you'd blossom into something a little more gentle with my lessons, Sunset..."

Sunset Shimmer trekked beside her before cocking a brow at Princess Celestia in annoyance, "What!?"

Princess Celestia glanced down at Sunset Shimmer with a hint of annoyance herself. "You see, this is what I speak of Sunset Shimmer, you cannot simply disrespect others and expect better treatment in return. You've refused to listen to any of my lessons on the values of friendship and kindness and instead have chosen to abuse the prestige your status gives you." Princess Celestia then made her way ahead of the filly and looked at Sunset Shimmer, "Why Sunset? Why do you choose to interpret my lessons in such a manner? I saw your potential, and you still have so much. Why would you use your gifts to berate others rather than support them? Please tell me, because as of now I just can't understand you my dear student. Please tell me what is it that makes you act this way."

Sunset huffed angrily as she'd turned and trotted away from Princess Celestia. "There's nothing wrong with me princess! I am better than them, all of them! I've proven that I'm above the ordinary so why do I have to befriend them and show them kindness if I don't feel like it!? They're no more than losers who're second rate. It's only fitting they know their place."

Princess Celestia frowned heavily at Sunset Shimmer, "No...you're not my dear student. You're not better than them."

Sunset Shimmer winced at Princess Celestia, before turning away and just rolling her eyes. "Ugh, you just don't understand princess. You'll understand someday! I'll show you how to rule a kingdom with an iron hoof when I'm princess!" Sunset Shimmer then situated herself in front Celestia, bouncing around on all four hooves like a puppy in excitement. "Heh, now how about we hurry and get to some real lessons so I can master those to. Come on Princess Celestia!"

Princess Celestia looked down at Sunset Shimmer with saddened eyes. "It's obvious that I've made a mistake."

Sunset Shimmer rolled her eyes yet again, but a little more relieved now. "Well duh, but don't worry about it princess I-"

Princess Celestia raised a hoof, "No Sunset. I was wrong, about you."

Sunset Shimmer cocked a brow, making an almost disgusted face at the princess. "What the heck?..."

Princess Celestia turned away from the filly. "I have much thinking I must do my student. I'm sorry." The princess, then accompanied by two guards made her way back and out of the gardens, leaving Sunset Shimmer there to think about her words.

Sunset Shimmer stood there for sometime with a blank stare, before she'd gritted her teeth angrily. She then gave a death glare towards the flower Princess Celestia dropped on the tiled pathway, and lit it aflame with magic. "TCH!!!!"

As Sunset Shimmer in the present recalled such memories, she remained safe behind her magical barrier as she looked furious, angry and bitter, and as she saw tears trickle down onto the grass before her she kept muttering to herself. "Darnit, darnit, darnit darnit darnit darnit! How...How did it end up like this? How did things get this out of hand?!" The thought of Princess Celestia being right the entire time only infuriated her even more. She hated it. She got it, she understood, she was wrong, but how long was the world going to shove it all in her face? She cut off the memories there, and refocused back on the current situation. I've really gotten myself into a pickle. Hah, I guess there's only one place that I could really get out of all this.

Sunset's eyes snapped wide then as she came to a realization. Wait..If I've returned to being a pony then maybe...Just maybe the portal's opened up again! Maybe I can go back home! but she paused, as her expression sunk. You can't go back there, idiot. But I've- well I've got no choice right? She then looked around again, at the multitude of civilians surrounding her as they snapped pictures, squealed with delight and astonishment at the sight of a real life unicorn. Sunset Shimmer just remained still in her barrier as she juggled around with a couple of ideas regarding the situation. She'd been reckless, getting caught this morning only made her frantic and more panicked, now here she was, completely exposed for the whole world to see.

Surprisingly, at that time, Sunset Shimmer thought back to Princess Twilight Sparkle. What would you have done? Sunset Shimmer then shook her head, before glaring ahead with determination for a second. No, you may have won, but you still don't understand princess. As wonderful and fluffy as your world is, as Princess Celestia's world is, there will always be those that're different, there will always be those like me. Sunset Shimmer soon rose from her slump of depression and panic. These people can't be allowed to have use of magic, and I think I may know just how to make sure of that.

"Over here, I believe she's the one sir." A police officer motioned over to the barrier.

Sunset Shimmer raised a brow as the crowd started to disperse, and standing before the barrier glaring at the mare would be a young blue haired man. He just stood there for some time, before frowning heavily. "This pony is her?"

The officer nodded with a salute. "Yes sir, it must be an after-effect of what she's done."

Sunset Shimmer blinked a bit, before glancing to the lower left inquisitively. So it is happening everywhere else...

The young man spoke up, "You, pony, do you understand human language?" He raised a curious brow.

Sunset Shimmer gave him a daft expression with half closed eyes. "............Mraw Mook Mok Mok Neigh Neigh Neigh! YES of course you moron, I can understand what you're saying. Sheesh! Do I really look so primitive in this form?" She rolled her eyes as she remained safe behind her barrier and just looked at him. "What do you want? I'm a little busy right now you know."

The young man nodded, "Well sorry to say, I'm here to take you into custody."

Sunset Shimmer snickered with a raised brow, "Hahaha! Well, goodluck with that. Sorry human, but I'm a unicorn, and I've got magic. Let me guess, you've all been having a bit of problem handling the magical alterations in this world to huh?"

The young man then placed his palm upon the barrier, as it shattered. "Apparently not." He laughed a bit afterwords.

Sunset Shimmer's sighed as she still appeared a bit bored. "Oh, you're quite special aren't you? Not! I made it that way."

The young man smiled softly, as he'd closed his eyes. "Maybe. So, will you come with us, Sunset Shimmer?" He opened his eyes before pointing at her. "You know a lot more about what's happening than anybody else, we need you to tell us kiddo."

Sunset Shimmer smiled, a little anxious now, giving him an amused smile. "Sorry, but I'm heading home."

The young blue haired man closed his eyes again before crossing his arms. "I think your problems can wait, don't you?"

Sunset Shimmer, "I don't wait for anypony. Get it, loser?" The mare readied herself with an excited smile.

Applejack at that point rushed forward, towards the mare. "SUNSET! W-WAIT! DON'T MAKE THINGS ANY WORSE ON YOUR-"

But at that point Sunset Shimmer just teleported, reappearing behind the crowd and reappearing atop a car heading off in a different direction as she'd glanced back at the blue haired boy and Applejack. "You and the others go back home Applejack! If there's one thing that boy is right about, this is something I know how to handle." Sunset Shimmer made a determined expression as she forged ahead, and remained steady atop the car, no longer caring for who or who didn't see her. "I know what Twilight said to you guys, and I don't need your help! You don't need to pretend to be my friends! I don't know the first thing about friendship."

Applejack shook her head as she'd called out, "S-SUNSET! WON'T YOU JUST LET US HELP YA FOR ONCE!?"

The blue haired boy gave Applejack a serious expression before pulling out his cellphone. "Not to worry kiddo."

Applejack glanced up at that particular individual with a raised brow and curious expression. "Eh?"

The blue haired boy laughed a bit as he looked at his watch, "We'll just cut her off at Sugarcube Corner. Do you really think we'd just ignore the girl who turned into a demonic creature at the Fall Formal when all of this happens? Yea, not."

Sunset Shimmer remained situated on the top of the car, before it stopped and the individual driving got out, only to stare at the unicorn for some time. He then popped out his cellphone, taking a couple of pictures before Sunset Shimmer repeated the process and ported herself atop another moving car, allowing it to carry her where she needed to go. As she sat there, she then clapped her hooves together once before closing her eyes. Obviously Principal Celestia is Princess Celestia, maybe the issue is inbalance along with the forced existence of magic. Huh,... then who the heck is Vice Principal Luna?

"STOP THAT PONY!!!!"

Sunset Shimmer glanced back curiously, catching sight of a stream of police cars.

She puckered her lower lip, before raising her rear in their direction and taunting. "I'm right here guys, come on! You're sooo close!" She then turned as her horn started to glow and she'd summoned a blockade of ice cream chunks. "NOT!"

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!!!

Sunset Shimmer immediately flung off the top of the car before skidding atop the pavement and laying motionless for a second. She then staggered to her hooves, before coughing and looking at the pavement. "WHAT THE BUCK WAS THAT? Learn how to drive!"
