The Equestrian night still covered the country of Equestria. At this hour most ponies would be sleeping, but not in the tree that housed the library of the little town. Two ponies, a purple unicorn and a cyan pegasus were still talking about what happened in the life of the cyan one.
"I don't know what you think, Twilight," said the pegasus, "but..." and she broke in tears.
The memories that were locked in her mind for so long were flooding like a rapid out of her mind. The unicorn, the element of magic, did her best to comfort the pegasus.
"Shh, it's okay, Rainbow Dash. Everything is going to be okay..." and she took her in her arms.
Rainbow Dash was sobbing hard in the legs of Twilight and Twilight did her best not to cry. She, like many Ponies from her time had endured hardships. She wanted to tell Rainbow her stories, but given the state her best friend was in, she figured that wasn't a good idea to do so. After a long while, Rainbow regained her composure and spoke. "Thanks, Twi, I needed that."
"It was a pleasure, my dear friend!" she said with a forced smile.
The memories of her own life were charging through her head, but with the magic of a unicorn she could manage it to keep them locked. It would be for another time, she thought.
Rainbow Dash readied herself to fly back to her cloud home, but Twilight stopped her. ‘Dash, wait! I don’t think it would be a good idea to sleep alone’’ she said.
‘Why not, Twilight?" Rainbow asked, right after she stopped at the door.
‘Well, I don't know. But you seemed troubled, very troubled. And I don't think sleeping alone would be such a good idea.’
Rainbow thought about these words, and a couple of tears that streamed down her face seemed to seal the deal. She ran into Twilight's side and sobbed again. The cyan pegasus couldn't say no to something like that. It was so generous of her friend. All that she had remembered came back. Twilight let Dash cry and hummed a lullaby her mother always seemed to sing when she was in tears. The pegasus seemed to be at rest, and Twilight carried the pegasus with her magic towards her bed.
Twilight had two beds, but her second bed was still in repair right after what Applejack and Rarity had done to it when they were sleeping over during the storm, so she didn't had a choice to let the pegasus sleep in her bed. She blushed at the thought, but her prudence was quickly pushed away when she thought that it was her friend at stake. She then gently placed the sleeping Rainbow on the other side of her bed, and slowly climbed in her side of the bed. She looked over the sleeping body of her friend, but quickly fell asleep.
The night hadn't caused any more troubles.

The morning sun shone upon the country of Equestria again and the morning of this day was a pretty one. Rainbow awoke and thought, 'Heh, the pegasi of Cloudsdale have overdone themselves, again!' The events of yesterday came into her mind again. Luckily, Gilda was dead and dead for sure. She wouldn't be troubling her again. She climbed out of bed but saw that she wasn't in her home. After she thought a little bit further, she remembered that she was in Twilight's house. And she was surprised again, because Twilight was nowhere to be found. She quickly trotted down the stairs, and saw Twilight rumbling around in the kitchen of the library.
Twilight was, with the help of her magic, making something for Rainbow Dash and herself. She was too busy to notice that Rainbow was climbing down the stairs.
Rainbow placed herself at the table, not to scare her friend. After Twilight was ready making something for her friend and herself, she saw Rainbow sitting on the table. "Ah, Good morning, Rainbow Dash!" she said.
Rainbow did her best to take the blush of her face, and Twilight laughed with the antics of the pegasus.
They both ate their breakfast and Twilight spoke up. "You know, Rainbow- your story stirred something in me. I also had a terrible youth like you. Hay, all of our friends had terrible youths!"
Rainbow was shocked! She didn't know and it was the last thing she would think about. Her friends not experiencing happy lives. She thought she was alone. ‘I talked to our friends to come in the Library to tell their stories.’ Twilight paused. ‘I, *sigh* had one, too.’
Now was Rainbow more shocked than ever before. Twilight. Of all the mares in Equestria.
Rainbow took the watery-eyed Twilight in her arms, and let her cry out. 'It's okay, Twi. I’m here.’

Rainbow was happy. For the very first time in her life, she experienced pure happiness. All her friends, even Applejack who was a pony who held a grudge towards the cyan pegasus sometimes- was listening to her stories. This, she had never even dreamed of.
After she was done telling the story of her life, from the day she was born to yesterday- the whole room fell in silence. Nopony dared to utter a word, until Rarity broke the silence.
‘My, that Gilda character was sure a uncouth griffin! Why, laughing at a Pegasus who was afraid of flying, I say!’ Everypony laughed for the way Rarity spoke, especially at the time being. Even Rarity laughed after a while.
'Yeah, I know.' she said flatly.
Pinkie, after hearing her story, spoke too. ‘Dashie, let me speak for the girls out here, that you are absolutely not alone! Let us tell our stories. I had to work on a rock farm as a foal.’ All the girls in the room cringed.
Pinkie didn't received the time to tell them her story so this came extra hard for her. Pinkie Pie didn’t told much about her youth because she was busy with throwing parties around at random. ‘But, that's not all. My father and mother weren't so merry as you would think from rock farmers and my sisters weren't so nice, either.’
Equestrian rock farmers are the Equestrian equivalent of the Amish in our world, but, in comparison to the Amish, we Equestrian rock farmers were mostly very friendly ponies. The Pie family, wasn’t. Pinkie, or Pinkamena, was unlucky enough to be born into one of the most remote rock farmer families in whole of Equestria. The Pie Family was already tough, but in Equestria, they had to be even tougher.. Pinkie was victim to most of the verbal and physical abuse as a foal.
Applejack spoke up, right after Pinkie had told her story.
‘Well, Pinkie, ah can tell ya girls somethin' bout mah yout'. Mah parent's died right after ta birth o' Applebloom. Mah Granny Smith was then' kind enough to take us in.’ Applejack began then to weep silently into her Stenton she always wears.
‘This ol' hat was ta hat of mah ol' pa', of what ah can remember of him, anyway!’ she said with a sorrowful voice.
Twilight and Fluttershy were the ones that reassured the orange cow pony.
The parents of Applejack died when Applebloom was born. Applejack and Big MacIntosh were around four when it happened. She had just come back from her trip from Manehattan when her parents died. Her parents were sick from Ponyfluenza, and Applejack was heartbroken from the loss of her parents. The trip that she made to go searching for her special talent way down in Manehattan was in a time when her parents seemed well. But Ponyfluenza is a cruel disease. There are moments when the sickness has appeared to be subdued, but then there are moments when it can come back and finish the job. And for poor young Applejack, when she came back to the farm where she lived all her life, the hour of their death was upon her parents.
While Applejack cried of the terrible memories of the death of her parents, Rarity spoke up with reddened eyes. "Rainbow Dash, although I may seem like a boring fashion designer, I had to make this life on my own!" she said, also with a sobbing voice.
For the young Rarity, her lifelong dream was always to be a fashion designer. The urge to complete her life purpose came when she found out that she had an eye for detail and did her best to apply that gift to everything she came across. But her parents were not so happy with Rarity’s dream.
Actually, her parents never liked Rarity at all. The father of Rarity was an unforgiving drunk and her mother was the kind of pony that always could start a fight. Rarity had always been beaten, and abused both verbally and sexually. The birth of Sweetie Belle didn’t help at all. Finally, the parents had something to be proud of, it wasn't a complete failure like Rarity.
So, Rarity did her best to find a new persona to fit her life, because the life of a normal farm city pony wasn't going to fit it. So, after she read a few stray magazines of her mother’s. She read about the glamorous lives of the big city ponies, and tried her very best to fit into that lifestyle. But there were still some moments where she wanted nothing more but to run around and play and talk like a farm pony... but the disapproving glares and hooves of her parents still lingered in her thoughts.
Rarity joined crying alongside the orange farm pony when a yellow and pink maned pegasus spoke.
‘Dash, my life was completely different than yours. I knew my parents, and they were good, but at school, life was hell! Outside school was worse, too.’
The youth of the pegasus called Fluttershy had a small difference compared towards the youths of the other ponies. Her parents were alive and were good parents, but life outside the parental house of Fluttershy’s wasn't so kind towards her. School wasn't fair towards her. Since Fluttershy had a born shyness towards everything, the pegasi in school happily abused the fact. Billy and Hoopes, two of the most jerky pegasi that ever came from Cloudsdale, were ponies that took advantage of Fluttershy's shyness and adorableness. Since Fluttershy couldn't fly that well, she was given the 'delightful’' nickname Klutzershy.
Also, Fluttershy fell towards the ground. Some may think that she had stayed on the ground and built the life everypony in Ponyville knows her to live, but something else happened. there happened something different. Her parents came after Fluttershy after they heard that she had fell to the ground. Being heartbroken from the pleas and crying of their filly, they dragged her back to Cloudsdale and was brought back to Summer Flight Camp.
Fluttershy didn't cry, Fluttershy just couldn't cry. Iit hurt Dash the most. Not that Fluttershy was sad, oh no. She was broken from the harsh memories, but it seemed that she had cried all the way from her cottage to the library. At last, Twilight spoke up. "Rainbow Dash, I can tell you that my youth is an exception towards the rest that has spoken here, but it also scourges my mind!"
The youth of Twilight was an exception toward the rest of her friends. The young unicorn mare had a childhood very few ponies can even dream of. She had a good brother, Shining Armour, her parents were nice towards her, heck, they even loved her. The exception being. She was the protege of the most powerful creature that had ever graced the Equestrian soil, Princess Celestia!
Her parents were so nice to bring Twilight down to Celestia's school, and for most of the time, it went well. She was quite popular with the girls, and was an excellent student. Even today some remainders of that quirkiness can be found there. But, after a while, began to see that she wasn’t wanted at school anymore. She wanted to learn, but the girls at her school began to act differently towards the young mare. Even some of the teachers began to act differently towards the young mare.
One day, two unicorn fillies began to bully Twilight, and the bullying quickly changed into full violence. The unicorns were the two daughters of the richest unicorn in all of Canterlot. Dirk Rich, a far cousin of the youngest of the Rich family in Ponyville, Filthy Rich. Diamond Rich and Gold Mine were actually almost like Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, if you count out their prone to violence. It would be idiotic to go about the many incidents the two unicorns had with Twilight, but one incident stands out.
On the 25th of May, in the year of 1945 BCR, Twilight was silently reading in the great library of Canterlot, when a gigantic issue of Sun Tzu’s Art of War was flung towards the young filly. It impacted with great speed in the back of the filly. The Rich sisters began to throw more and more books toward Twilight. Other fillies in the school that heard the commotion came to join in.
The crowd of fillies grew, all of the laughing with Twilight’s suffering. Even a couple of teachers that hated Twilight came down there to laugh with her also. In the crowd, stood one particular pony. The pegasus Clopping Hooves A.K.A. coach Thunder. After he was fired from the Cloudsdale, he was transferred to Canterlot, where the poor young filly Twilight Sparkle was the victim of his never ending violence. next victim in his never ending violence raid. Princess Celestia had to come down and put an end to it. All the fillies and teachers that had taken part were suspended. The Rich sisters were expelled from the school, and were never heard of seen again...
Twilight silently wept, but after a while she had regained control of her emotions. The same was said for Rarity and Applejack. Pinkie Pie regained her poofy hair again and said towards Rainbow, "Well, that's our lives!" Rainbow was stunned. She couldn't say anything for a while but when she spoke again, she said, "Girls, I-I-I didn't know..."
Twilight took her under the arm. "Just say nothing, Rainbow Dash, you told your story, we told ours. There's nothing more to be said"...

Twilight had readied a quill and a piece of paper, and was ready to write a letter for Rainbow Dash. Spike was there, but Twilight insisted that the baby dragon have his rest. He convinced Twilight to let him send the letter to Celestia, because there was no other way to send it.
"Okay, Dash, I'm ready to write! Ready?"
And the next words made the letter.
Dear Princess Celestia,
You may think of me as a brasher and a tomboy, but I’d have to say that you are completely wrong! I have lived a terrible life, but my friends had told me that I'm not the only one. You may think that I’m not grateful for my life because of my rough childhood, but that’s not true. These ties in my life have me live life to the fullest.
Today I learned again, that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.
Sorry if this letter is kinda short, but I’m not a writer, dear princess.
Your faithful subject, Rainbow Dash.
Twilight closed the scroll, and everypony in the room clapped with their hooves. Spike blew it towards Canterlot in a puff of green smoke.

Celestia closed the scroll with her magic and placed her wing on her younger sister Luna.
"Yes, dear sister?"
"Tell the guards that Miss. Rainbow Dash deserves a great birthday present." she said.
"What do We have to tell them?" asked Luna.
"Tell them that the Wonderbolts shall fly over the house of Miss. Rainbow Dash."
"Yes, dear sister" Luna said, and ran towards the guard quarter.
Celestia was alone, and smiled. "Hahaha, Rainbow, I know that you had a terrible life, but I'm here to make it better."
And with that, Celestia began to write a letter to Rainbow Dash and her friends...
