Cloudsdale, June 17th, 1762 BCR.

'Come on, Gilda, we're almost late!' said a cyan-colored pegasus pony with a rainbow colored mane.

'Yeah, yeah, hold on to your hooves Dash! I'm coming!' said a griffin.

They were flying to the city in the clouds, Cloudsdale. Both were there at the Junior Speedsters summer flight camp, and they were almost late for the morning training. The two of them were best friends. The cyan pegasus was known for being a brasher, and was known to get in a fight. She was Rainbow Dash, and called herself the 'fastest flyer of Equestria'.

The griffin was known as Gilda, and she didn't know how or why she was here in the first place. A city full of ponies wasn’t easy for a griffin to grow up in. But as far as she could remember, she knew Rainbow Dash. She was the only friend she had, and she couldn't help to abuse that fact.

'Gilda, if we aren't any faster, coach Storm will be mad at us, again!' said Rainbow Dash.

Coach Thunder was known to punish late comers, and they both overslept... again.

'Dash, you better fly faster yourself, instead of worrying about me!” screamed the griffin.

Dash didn't say anything back, she was more occupied on making it on time.

At the stadium stood Coach Storm, looking over the young pegasi fillies that had come on time. Storm, or as his real name was Clopping Hooves, was a pegasus that stood over the young fillies. He had a full white coat, and a blond mane. Some of the parents of the fillies had issued a complaint because they said he couldn't keep his hooves to himself, but this wasn't a mystery.

He was having a role-call with all the ponies that arrived already.

'Hooves, Derpy?'

'Present!' The gray, wall-eyed filly said.

'Billy?'

'Present.' Said the brown, salt-colored maned pegasus.

'Dash, Rainbow?' he said.

No response.

'Where the hell is Rainbow Dash?' he shouted.

Everypony knew what time it was now. Coach Storm was having his breakdown again.

Clopping Hooves was known in Cloudsdale as a pegasus who was torn with PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

He developed PTSD with the battles he had during that war. Back in the day, the dragons of the Hooffington Mountains were warmongering. The king of the dragon state had enough of the peaceful nation of Equestria, so they attacked the city of Hooffington to show Helvetica the might of the dragons

Helvetica sent her army to contain the uprising, unfortunately resulting in a full scale war. Coach Storm  had seen his friends befall to the searing red tides known as dragon fire. Some ponies tried to talk about his war efforts, but it mostly ended with harsh bruises and lacerations for the unfortunate ponies.

'If that Featherbrain of a pegasus isn't here within the minute, I'm going to-' he was cut short when he saw the Rainbow-maned filly landing on the clouds.

But it wasn't enough to stop the anger seething through Storm's veins, it only intensified it! Next, Rainbow couldn't prepare herself for what happened. Coach Storm unleashed a barrage of harsh words and the poor filly was struck.

'Where were you, Rainbow Dash?!' he screamed at the top of his lungs.

Dashie couldn't say a thing, she was being blinded by the tears strolling down her face, by the fright, by the shame and by an overflow of other emotions.

‘Enough! Please, enough!’ and began to cry. Unfortunately, Coach Storm answered with a further assault of words on her face. Dash began to cry hysterically.

The other fillies and Gilda were laughing at Rainbow Dash the whole time......

Ponyville, September 9th, 2012 BCR.

Twilight's Tree House.

'And that... is the reason why I hate Gilda.' the cyan colored pegasus spoke. Rainbow Dash, now older and more mature, had been invited by the purple unicorn for a cup of coffee.

The library of Ponyville was one of the most famous libraries in Equestria. Princess Celestia came over to Ponyville to open the library for her loyal subjects. Normally around this time of the day, only Twilight and her dragon assistant Spike would be here. Spike keeping the library clean and Twilight reading the stuff she liked.

Twilight had seen that Dashie was troubled by the griffin for the last couple of months.

It wasn't a mystery. The harsh and foul griffin had graced the little town a new visit, but this time, she wasn't out for her revenge against the local Baker, the pink earth pony Pinkie Pie. No, she was out to make amends again with the speedster one, Rainbow Dash. Unfortunately, Gilda had chosen the date wrongly. She had come to Ponyville, right on the 17th of June.

Of course, Rainbow Dash was happy to see her old friend again, but still, there was something lingering in the back of her mind... She didn’t know what it was, but she didn't let that trouble her and again she flew around with the griffin in no time. Pinkie Pie was afraid when she saw Gilda again, but Gilda didn't let that trouble her, and gave her apologies towards the energetic earth pony.

But like they say, nice songs don't last long. As the months of Summer regressed, the memory in Rainbow Dash's mind fought for it to come back. It fought so hard, that it almost hurt her. It stabbed like a thorn through her mind. Eventually, it all came back to her. How Coach Storm had tried to turn the face of Rainbow Dash into a bloody pulp, and that everypony, including Gilda laughed their flanks off. On the first of September, she couldn't stand it any longer and again, the pegasus and the griffin were locked into a dogfight once again.

The police of Ponyville had to break the fight between them because it wasn't a pleasant sight. They were afraid that they could kill each other, so much hate came from them.

Twilight could detect various distress signals from other ponies around Ponyville when she saw them. She recognized the same troubled look on Rainbow Dash’s face, probably having something to do with Gilda, so she invited Rainbow to come over for a cup of coffee.

But now, she was stunned! She didn't know that Rainbow Dash had such a traumatic, horrific experience. 'And that wasn't the only time! Sometimes, Gilda punched me, humiliated me by..... Well, I don’t wanna talk about it... and so much more!'

With that, she erupted into tears, all of the memories started flooding back into her mind. She buried her head into Twilight's chest, and began to sob.

'Dash, Dash, it's okay. It's okay. There's nothing to worry about.' Twilight did her best, but she was the element of magic, not loyalty, so she didn't quite know how to comfort somepony.

But Dashie wasn't a mare that cried a lot, and this occasion wasn't one that changed the habit. She had an idea, an idea where she, once again, would have the upper hoof. One that would put that griffin back in her place!

She left the tree house that was the library, and flew to the nearest rain cloud. She jumped on the cloud to check it. The cloud made a very loud squishing sound, which meant it was fuller than full.

Perfect! she thought with a devilish smile across her face.

She let out a crackle and had a mischievous grin across her face when she pushed the cloud towards the unsuspecting griffin. The griffin didn't have a clue of what happened next. Before she knew it, Rainbow Dash was jumping on the cloud. She released every drop in the cloud all over the griffin, making her soaking wet. Dash flew away with the cloud, laughing harder than she ever laughed in her life.

But for Gilda, while she was being ridiculed by the townponies, let out the most ear-piercing screech that she had ever let out in her life, and shrieked,

'You'll pay for this, Rainbow Dash! You just wait, and I’ll come for you!’ She landed, with an anger that lit fire in her eyes and flames through her nose, when a thought came into her mind.

Her angry face was replaced by a mischievous smirk when she thought what the most terrifying thing was in Dash's life. 'Hmmm......' she said when placing her claw on her face.

'That's it! Oh, Rainbow Dash, I’m going to go laugh so hard when I'm done with you!' she said, and began to laugh to herself...

Rainbow Dash's cloud home.

Rainbow Dash was reading, like she did a lot these days. Twilight had given her the newest issue of Daring Do, but with the Gilda case, she didn't had much time to read into the new exploits of the adventurous mare. But now, with the weekend, she had time enough.

After Celestia's sun graced Equestria once again, she awoke, ate her breakfast, and began reading the story.

Daring Do and The Quest for the Romanov's.

Rainbow had already read a couple of lines of the intro already, but then Gilda came back to Ponyville, and she completely forgot about the book. Now, she had all the time in the world to read the story.

As far as she could gather, this story was about when Daring was on a vacation in the Soviet Union, came upon the case for searching for the missing treasure of the Romanovs, the last Russian tsar family. Whilst on this quest, Daring had to evade many a Soviet agent, and became Number 1 on the KGB list for dangerous ponies.

Dash was so deeply immersed into her reading, that she didn't notice that a griffin was nearing the room where Rainbow Dash slept. She had to stop reading to exhale from the awesomeness that this book contained

But she never got the chance to read further when a rock knocked her out cold. Gilda dragged her unconscious body out of her home, and smirked.

'Hehe, Dashie, looks like I got the upper hand this time!', and flew off to a unknown location in Equestria.

Gilda was preparing the equipment that was needed for the revenge Gilda was going to unleash on Rainbow Dash. She had placed the young rainbow-maned pegasus to a table already, but now she was putting the final touches of a thing where she would have enjoyment for days to come. The dark cellar where she chained Rainbow Dash was a small one, 5 to 7 feet in width and around 15 feet high. This small room didn’t had much, except an old chair, a writing table and a closet with a couple of old books.

Rainbow Dash groggily awoke, only to find herself chained to a table, locking her front and back hooves and middle in place. Dashie, of course, began to panic. She briefly recalled a nightmare she once had.

Her best friend Pinkie Pie would cut her open and make cupcakes from the innards of the young mare. But her thoughts were cut short when she heard paw and claw steps instead of hoof steps.

‘Hello? Pinkie, is that you?!' she said. Her surprise was even greater when, instead of a pink earth pony, there stood a griffin with a very scaring smirk on her face.

‘Hehe, finally you're awake!'

'Gilda? What’s happening?!' Rainbow cried.

'Heh, like you even have a clue. I haven't forgot my little 'shower' in Town Square, Dashie!' Gilda said.

'What? What?! Was that the reason why you locked me up here, in this- whatever this is? Gilda, not cool!' Dash said.

'Hey, you don't say 'not cool' to me, sister! The fact is, that I want my revenge what you've done to me, Lame-o!’ Gilda said.

'What?' Rainbow began to laugh. 'Haha! And how were you going to do that, Gilda? You don't even know what I have been through!' Dash said.

With that, Gilda was stunned, remembering that memory- but then her smirk came back remembering what Dashie would react to what she would say next.

'Remember that evening, after Coach Thunder almost murdered you?'

Dashie tried to remember, and then her eyes widened! 'No! No, no, no, no! Please, Gilda, not that! Not that!!'

Cloudsdale, the evening of June 17th, 1762 BCR.

Dash and her griffin companion retreated to the sleeping quarters to get a good night sleep. Coach Thunder had said to the young cyan filly, 'And next time, wake up on time!' and swung his hoof over the young filly.

Luckily he didn't hit her, but it was enough to break the young filly into tears once again. They both flew towards the sleeping shacks, and went to their rooms.

The shacks where they would sleep, were all made out of pine wood and were quickly build. Although the state of the shacks could be debatable, the ruggedness of it was as clear as a sunny day. These things were built with the first Junior Flight summer camp and still stand today. The small rooms of each cabin held a bunk.

Gilda was the first to climb in her bed, but Rainbow Dash was reluctant. She didn't want to go to sleep, out of fear that she would oversleep again. Gilda persuaded her to climb in bed, eventually and she would wake her up the next morning.

Celestia's sun set again, and made place for the moon, and the two skybound animals were sound asleep, or so it seemed. The mythical creature that was the griffin was actually fake sleeping and was going to awake the pegasus.

She had heard tales that she was very ticklish, and she wanted to put that to the test. So, she slowly stroked her claw over the back of the pegasus and the young filly awoke in laughter.

'G-Gilda, *laughter* don't do that!' But unfortunately, that was enough for Gilda to be a sign to keep continuing with it.

Next, she tickled her on her stomach, and Dash began to laugh even harder- so hard that the rest of the shack came to see it for themselves where that noise came from. They were in for a surprise.

After a while, the whole shack was partaking in tickling the young pegasus, while the others were holding her down. How hard she struggled, but it was to no avail. She tried to scream for the caretakers that were in the shack, but the tickling was so enduring that she didn't have a word to scream.

Dashie was squirming in place, because she knew what Gilda was going to do next!

'No! No. Gilda, please!! NOOOO!!' but her screaming and squealing only made the choice of continuing for Gilda even easier.

She shushed the mare by telling her it was okay, and stroked her mane. Next, she brought down a tray, covered by a tablecloth, but to her horror, it didn't contain surgical tools, but brushes, feathers and other tickling stuff!

Now was Dashie squirming even more, and she was even screeching for help.

'Oh, you crybaby! Nopony is going to find you here! Besides, let's get down to business...’

she said while dangerously advancing her left claw towards the belly of the pegasus.

Dashie tried to stop it, but she couldn't do anything. Next, the claw placed itself upon her belly and Dash was laughing once again!

Gilda had placed her claw on the belly of Rainbow Dash, and Dashie tried her best to withhold the laughter but as Dashie tried, it all proved to be to no avail.

‘Waaa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, Gilda, sto-ho-ho-hoop!! *laughter*’, but the pleas fell on deaf ears.

'No Dashie, it is only beginning!'

Gilda then began to make the tickling noises to strengthen the fact that she was tickling her anyhow. She even began to raspberry her stomach which was greeted with even more laughter. Dashie tried her best to squirm and plead but Gilda was unforgiving she just tickled anyway.

Man, I knew that Dash was ticklish, but this is just idiotic! She stopped for Dash to catch her breath.

‘Haaah, Gilda, *laugh* I hate you!’ She was greeted with an even bigger smirk.

‘I know that, Dashie I know that!’ She then left.

‘Hey, where are you going? You're not going to leave me down here, are you?!’ Dash said.

‘No, Dash, I'm going to do stuff. I'll be back in a moment, stay sharp!’ she said while climbing a staircase.

Dash was left alone, in the dark room, chained on the table. She tried to break free from her prison, but it was useless. Gilda had made sure that the pegasus didn't escape.

Twilight's Library, 18:00 PM

Twilight was almost ready with closing off the library for the day, until she noticed something. Her latest copy of Daring Do was missing She had let Rainbow Dash borrow the copy but with her reading capabilities she thought that she would be done around this time. She hadn’t seen her since since she gave her the book. Twilight knew that Rainbow didn't quite get the chance to reading with Gilda there, but then again, she said that today she was going to read it anyhow. She was getting worried, for two reasons. Rainbow was the bearer of the element of loyalty, and, most importantly she was her best friend, especially when learning about the troublesome childhood Rainbow Dash had.

She decided to search for her cyan pegasus friend, but before she left- she left a note for Spike.

Dearest Spike, don't close the Library just yet, I'm going to look for a missing book.

Be back around dusk, Twilight.

Then, she closed the door behind her, ready to go on the search for her friend!

Dashie awoke by the sound of paw and claw-steps that descended the staircase which led to the strange cellar where she was. Gilda the Griffin had come back.

‘Heya, you worthless piece of a foal! I'm back!’ Dashie saw that she was carrying a bag, and her eyes widened after she saw what she had in her bag. A writing quill!

‘Hehe, that idiot at the store where I bought it thought that I was going to use it for writing! The dweeb! Anyways, let's get down to business!’ she said again. She then placed the feather of the quill on Dash's stomach, and her laughter once again filled the room.

After a while, Gilda spoke. ‘You know, Dash, while I was walking through that town of yours I couldn't help to tell the ponies there some stories about you. Such as this story. Remember the time you flew for the first time?’

Dash wanted to punch Gilda in the face for bringing up THAT...

5 Kilometers outside Cloudsdale, Equestria.

March 27th, 1756 BCR.

It was the first time that all the pegasi of the generation of 1750 would fly for their first time. All the fillies were eager to hit the skies, but two pegasi weren't so happy to fly.

One of them, a yellow pegasus with a pink mane was shaking at her knees at the thought of flying. And, shockingly enough- a cyan pegasus with a ruffled Rainbow colored mane was doing the same. Fluttershy had a reputation for being shy, but the cyan one, one that would later on love to fly, was now scared than ever to do so.

Before Rainbow Dash became the speedster pegasus we all know and love, she was shy... very shy. She lost her parents right after her birth. Rainbow Dash was placed into an orphanage, and spent the remainder of her young life there.

Now this test was the first of many for the class of '56, and it was a rite of passage for any pegasi to see if they were capable of flying.

Pegasi have had a whole bunch of rites of passage because they were a very proud race of ponies. The flying capability test is the most sacred of all rites. If a pegasus couldn’t fly, then he or she  couldn't be a part of the Cloudsdale society. This was a legacy that can be traced back from the time of Commander Hurricane who issued this test.

The coach that would instruct the pegasi fillies to fly, just like Clopping Hooves, was an ex-Celestial guard, but instead of a PTSD-torn maniac, this guy was timid- even caring! His name was Thunder Tyfoon and many of the pegasi found him to be an excellent teacher. While all the other fillies were soaring through the air, he saw that the two young fillies on the cloud were scared to take to the skies. He flew to the younger ones, and asked

‘Hey, are you scared?’ The two young fillies nodded.

‘Ah, there's nothing to be scared off, it's fun to fly! Wait, I'll show you how to fly!’

Next, he opened his wings, and flapped them until he was at a respectable height.

Fluttershy was amazed by the beauty of flying. The sight of Thunder soaring through the sky was such a sight that Fluttershy opened up. Like a butterfly that would open its wings, Fluttershy opened them and flew.

Rainbow Dash was captivated as well, but her mind was filled with doubt... she just couldn't do it.

Fluttershy flew towards Coach Tyfoon. Tyfoon’s heart melted like caramelized sugar heated in a pan. He began to fly a few meters with Fluttershy, but then saw that the rainbow-maned filly hadn't moved an inch. He said to the rainbow-maned one that she could do the same, but she didn’t move a muscle.Thunder flew back to the young Rainbow filly, and stepped up to her.

‘Hey, little one, I know you're scared. I was too! But look at me now! I love to fly, and there's nothing that can beat it! You know what? I'll fly alongside you, for the first time. Okay?’ Rainbow Dash nodded.

Next, they both opened their wings, and they flapped to the height where Fluttershy was, but she was so terrified that she couldn't hold control of her bladder and her urine was streamed all over her coat.

All the fillies laughed at their hardest from such a pathetic sight.

Rainbow Dash crumbled in tears. Not even Thunder's caring words could help her overcome the trauma.

Dashie was laughing from the torturing quill, torn between anger and shame, but was powerless nonetheless. She was locked firmly in place.

'Hehe, yeah you pathetic little pony! You were even afraid to fly! In Cloudsdale, of all places!'

Rainbow Dash let it all wash over her; she just didn't care anymore. Her most embarrassing moment was brought back to her mind- but it wasn't the only thing that she found embarrassing, Oh no! There were plenty more...

4; The Confessions.

Ponyville, Equestria

September 10th, 2012 BCR, 19:22 PM.

While Twilight was walking through Ponyville asking ponies around if they had seen Rainbow Dash, none of the ponies said anything.

Some of them even began to laugh in Twilight's face due to all the stories Gilda had told them. Twilight just left the laughers alone and went her own way, still on the search for the cyan pegasus.

Why were they laughing at that, anyway?

What did Rainbow Dash do?

Did she destroy Town Hall when I wasn’t here?

Is this all about me?

Because I’m from Canterlot? ...

Her thoughts rambled along. She tried to force the thought back in the depths of her mind, but it was to no avail. Her brain began to lose it. Her mane began to shrivel like when she was almost late with her assignment to the princess.

Her eyes began to widen again and began to grasp random ponies who crossed her way, stuttering random slurs into their faces. After she did this for about 10 minutes, her mind came back, slowly and thought...

'Fluttershy! Of course, she must know where she is!' She hastily trotted towards the little cottage of the yellow pegasus.

Outskirts of Ponyville, Just Outside The Everfree Forest, Equestria.

September 10th, 2012 BCR, 19:23 PM

Fluttershy had just made something for herself because all the little animals that she had in her vicinity were off to sleep. The pegasus didn't normally make something for herself to eat so quickly, but there were occasions that she would. Contrary to her friend Rainbow Dash, she was a pegasus that was indeed capable of cooking.

Just before she wanted to eat, there came a knocking sound. Fluttershy wouldn't be Fluttershy if she didn't squeak from the knocking on her door. After she hid behind her couch for a while, she braved herself enough to open the door.

Fluttershy began to walk to her door. The hard texture and the dark brown color of her door reassured her that she was safe. She had always knew that when she saw her door. She firmly grasped the cool, spherical shape that was her doorknob and thrust open the large wooden door.

To her surprise, there stood Twilight Sparkle, the purple unicorn whom she had befriended. "Oh... hello Twilight. What are you doing here?" she asked with her characteristically soft voice.

‘Good evening Fluttershy. There is something I like to ask you. It's about Rainbow Dash.’ said Twilight.

‘Oh, my...’ said Fluttershy.

‘What? Is there something wrong?’ said Twilight.

‘No, it's just.... *whimper*’

‘Fluttershy, there's no need for hiding from me. I'm your best friend, after all!’ reassured Twilight.

With that, Fluttershy opened a little bit. She was now more receptive for the questions that Twilight wanted to ask her about her oldest friend.

‘Well, Fluttershy, the thing is... This morning I received the newest copy of Daring Do, and since Rainbow reads the stories, I let her borrow it. Now, she said that she would give it back to me, but she hasn’t brought it back to me yet!’

‘Dash not bringing something back? That's unusual.’ said Fluttershy.

‘Indeed! Now, I'm on the lookout for her, and this is the first thing I want to ask you. Do you know where Rainbow Dash is?’

Fluttershy shook her head. She had to decline that answer.

‘Maybe it's something with Gilda. Their relationship  isn't good!’ said Fluttershy.

‘That is the other thing I wanted to ask you. While I was on the search for Rainbow Dash, there were ponies laughing at the mention of her name, and they told me stories of you and Dash. Now I want to know what they meant.’

With that, Fluttershy ears lowered a bit, and her face grew a darker shade of red.

'Oh, ehh... *sigh* There's no point anymore in hiding. Twilight, I have to make a confession, a confession for Rainbow Dash. I believe that those guys were laughing at stories from our youth?'

Twilight was surprised to see this different side of Fluttershy, but she nodded when she heard her answer.

‘What stories?’

"I recall something like a 'pissing incident', I think."

Fluttershy let a soft sigh, and spoke to Twilight.

‘Poor Dashie, she will be haunted with that story for her whole life. Well Twilight, that's not the only thing. Let me tell you all about it.’

After Fluttershy had told Twilight about Rainbow Dash, who as a filly had pissed herself from fear of flying, she was stunned!

‘ ... Poor Rainbow Dash!’

‘Yeah, Twilight, it was bad. And that's not the only thing that spikes her a lot these days! You see, Rainbow Dash's parents had died right after her birth and had to be put into an orphanage. A Helvetican orphanage! Cloudsdale, you see, still has a functioning Helvetican district!’

The Helveticans are the last remaining ponies from the age of queen Helvetica's reign. Queen Helvetica was comparable to the human queen Victoria, and just like her Human counterpart, Helvetica was a mother to all pony races. Unlike many Equestrian alicorn rulers,  Helvetica was a pegasus, and her rule brought an Golden Age for all pegasi!

Unfortunately, she didn't care much for the pegasi fillies who didn't have parents, in fact she hated pony orphans as a whole. But pegasi orphans were the pinnacle of her hate. She had built an enormous system of orphanages. There really weren’t any 'Rules' that stated how one would become staff in the houses, so practically anypony could be one. And for the most part, they were ponies who had criminal records or were involved with drugs. Not quite the ponies you would let handle the fillies. Fluttershy recalled a story Rainbow Dash told her once...

Orphanage #17, Cloudsdale, Equestria.

March 20th, 1760 BCR. 12:00 PM.

The mostly bustling city-center of Cloudsdale fell silent, because it was lunch-time. Ponies are known to be on time, especially when it depended on food. The Orphanage, known as #17, was no exception on the rule.

The fillies were driven like cattle to the dining room, which was also known as the  ‘Municipal Feeding Room’. One of the fillies who was taken there was a scared little filly named Rainbow Dash, and she was being taunted by the caretakers who were supposed to ‘provide the nutrition to help the future Helveticans survive.’ That was how the official story went, and was forced into the minds throughout the orphanage... orphans like Rainbow Dash.

‘Come on, ya worthless piece o’ foal! Move to ya trough!’ screamed one of the caretakers, an old mine-pony who was forced out of his home. ‘We don’ have ta time ta stand 'ere!’ and kicked Rainbow Dash in her flank. Dashie kept on walking, she didn’t have a choice anyhow.

When she eventually came to the dining room, she saw that the seats were all taken, so she was forced to choose to eat on the ground with the rest. While she was being taunted and kicked by both the caretakers and the other fillies, she eventually came to the lobby where the food was stashed.

The Helvetican government issued that the fillies in the orphanages were given Grade-A quality of food, but in reality they couldn’t give two sh*ts of what they gave their young foals. Rainbow Dash saw this time, however that the lobby contained food she never had seen in her life. French fries, roasted chickens, tomato’s as red as apples and so much more. Dash had seen colors she never had seen in her life on those trays. Unfortunately, her ‘Mother’ Miss. Bolt saw that Rainbow Dash was looking to the trays of the caretakers, so she ordered that two takers would bring Dashie out of the the lobby to the other orphans.

Two bulky pegasi then ran to Rainbow Dash and began to beat the living cr*p out of her, and put her back in her place. Crippled, bleeding and crying, they shouted in her face that if they saw her in the  lobby again, they would place her in the coal shack again.

Dashie just nodded while crying like a newborn foal. She received a small bowl of plain, cardboard-looking pasta and a small piece of semi-stale bread and walked to the farthest corner in the room where she could eat her food in silence...

***

Many members of the staff in those houses were pegasi who were working class ponies or criminals. These weren't ones who held the children's content to heart. Helvetican orphanages were usually 'ruled' by a lead caretaker or ‘Mother’, but they were usually the most violent. The fillies who were in these orphanages were destined to go through hell. The fillies were given more beatings than food, and most of them worked in the mines beneath Cloudsdale, or the factories. The conditions in these were just like the Victorian orphanages described by Charles Dickens, but ten times worse.

The Helvetican districts are still alive in many great Equestrian cities, but pegasi cities have the most. Cloudsdale has the largest running Helvetican district in all of Equestria, and many pegasi know about those orphanages, especially the ones from the generation of 1750 BCR.

The generation of 1750 BCR is singled out in Equestria because the year brought the most orphans that Equestria had ever seen. All over Equestria, hordes of orphan pegasi fillies were drifting around, and Helvetica was disgusted by them. The year 1750 wasn't the only year that there were orphans, the whole rule of Helvetica had orphans. But the year 1750 had by far the most.

While Twilight was recovering from the shock, she thought about Helvetica, the Helvetican districts, and the generation of 1750, and listened to many a story of Rainbow Dash's youth. Fluttershy had told her the time when Gilda came into the story.

"Gilda came into picture when Rainbow Dash was flying around as a punishment. She had to fly around until it was evening. When she was ready, she flew back to the barracks where we all slept and saw the griffin that was called Gilda. They clicked immediately. But the cracks began to show later.

‘I’m not going to tell you about those other incidents, but if I know where Gilda would lock Rainbow Dash- then I think Gilda has locked her in the cellars of The Great Theater!’

"Of course! How could I not think about that!" screamed Twilight She ran through the door and towards the cellars of The Great Theater, to save her pegasi friend...

The cellars of The Great Theater, Ponyville, Equestria.

September 10th, 2012 BCR. 19:45 PM.

The old Ponyvillian theater was, and still is, a prime example of Helvetican architecture. When it opened, Queen Helvetica herself was there to cut the ribbon. Many great Equestrian plays and actors have graced its presence on the wooden planks of the theater.

But after The Ultimate War, the foundation who ran the theater was in disarray. Anypony who was an actor on that guild had lost their life on the battlefields of the war. So the Great Theater began to lose its former glory and eventually it was abandoned. Now, only horseradish dealers and crashers... come here. Sometimes there might be a Mafia torture, or something of that nature.. Beneath The Great Theater was its playing floor, a gigantic subterranean labyrinth of cellars, open spaces and so on. Only a few ponies know their way through this maze to this day.

And for those few ponies, was also a rather unknown griffin. On that same day, the mostly silent halls were disrupted by the laughter of a pony. A cyan pegasus who had it coming for what she had done, or so the griffin thought.

‘Waaahahaaaa, G-g-gilda! B-b-buck you! Hahahahaha!’ the Pegasus laughed.

The griffin only answered it with even more tickling, and this time, on the wing where she couldn't stand it the most.

It only resulted in even more laughter.

‘You know, Dashie, I have to tell you another thing! You remember when you were angry at Billy and the others after they almost killed that yellow dweeb you call a friend? Well, let's just say I had told them a little more than you thought!’

If it wasn't for the tickling and the shackles, Rainbow Dash had tackled the griffin within a blink of an eye because she knew more than anything about what she was talking about.

Flight Academy, Cloudsdale, Equestria.

June 17th, 1778 BCR.

The Equestrian summer is widely regarded as one of the best climates on the planet and the summer of 1778 wasn't an exception. Soon, the class of '56 would receive their diplomas of flight and could integrate into the nation that is Equestria. Most of the fillies had passed their flight exam already, and all of them passed with ease. Now, they just had to wait and pass the time 'till June the 30th came.

Rainbow Dash wasn't that happy for the diploma coronation because she was still an Orphan. Queen Helvetica may had died a few years prior, but her legacy still lived on. Her orphanages still littered Equestria. The legal age to leave the orphanage was around 17, pegasi age and Rainbow Dash wasn't even close to that.

Prior to the day she had a terrible day. Her caretaker who was around, had beat the living daylight out of her because she hadn't eaten everything on her plate - when she actually had. The same occurred later in the Academy, where her teacher of the class,  on the moment, had beaten her because she spoke in class, and it was in a debating class.

Now she was walking around the halls, right in the afternoon break. She had already eaten her lunch, and just walked around. Gilda was nowhere to be found. Dash had already given her the cold shoulder after Fluttershy had been beaten up once. She passed the corner, and there was a scene that always played like this:

Billy and his friends were gathered around Fluttershy, and were taunting her again. Dashie held herself on the background, she didn't wanted to come into this fight again. But this time, it was different. Billy drew a pegasi knife towards Fluttershy and made a little cut on her wing. Rainbow Dash winced because he cut right in the most sensitive part of a pegasus' wing. Right at the third feather. Fluttershy blood began running freely, and began to cry. Rainbow Dash still hid on the background, but her wings began to fold when she saw that Gilda was there too and laughed her ass off with laughing on Fluttershy's pain.

"Haha! Looks like Klutzershy is not only a klutz, but also a whiner! Perhaps we should call her Whineshy, too!" said Billy.

Gilda concurred in the quote. That was enough for Rainbow Dash, and braced herself to help her filly friend in need.Unfortunately was that enough to shift the attention of him towards Rainbow Dash.

‘Well, well, if we haven't got our old friend, Rainbow Crash!!’

"Billy, you have gone here far enough! Stop right here, or I'll have to take action! said Rainbow Dash.

"And with what? Telling to the teachers that I would do something like this? They would rather kick you in the Utility Room than to listen to you!"

Rainbow Dash winced. Billy was right. Nopony believed what she said. On the contrary, she was more of an outcast, a pariah. Everypony hated her, even the teachers.

‘Then shut the f*ck up, Billy!’  and flew towards Billy.

She had enough. Enough of the pain of being tormented by Billy, enough of being kicked for something she did, enough for being punished for crimes she didn't commit, enough of being regarded as an orphan. With that, both of them were locked in combat and lucky for Rainbow Dash, there weren't any teachers in the near vicinity. The fight was one sided. Rainbow Dash had the upper hand on him, but Billy was armed. During the whole fight, his friends were cheering him on to kick the disgrace of Cloudsdale into oblivion.

For a moment it seemed that Rainbow Dash was actually winning the battle, but it seemed false hope. Because Billy drew the knife again, and this time it hit his mark. The knife made a very bad cut through her side, and it bled heavily. Rainbow Dash fell in front of him from the pain, and Billy and his friends began to kick her. After a while, they had enough and left her for death. She saw that Gilda was saying something to Billy, but couldn't hear it. Billy laughed and left her. She began to cry, because she failed. Her only chance to set things straight and she blew it. Fluttershy took her to the infirmary, the only place where they took Rainbow Dash as a normal pony.

You see, in pegasi terms an Orphan is not an outcast, but every pegasi has to fight when they reached a certain age. This is both to Stallions and Mares. It's, again a rite of passage to adulthood. If the pegasi fails to win the fight, then she would be regarded as an outcast. With Rainbow Dash, it wasn't the case because she was already regarded as an outcast.

Cellars of Old Theater, Ponyville, Equestria.

September 10th, 2012 BCR, 20:00 PM.

Rainbow Dash only winced when real tears mixed with tears of laughter. She silently swore towards the griffin for bringing back those memories and wished that they had stayed back in her subconsciousness.

‘Well, what I said to Billy was this. I told him there, that you were nothing more than a pissing Mama's filly! And I told him more right after we left!’

Rainbow Dash just crumbled. She didn't have any fighting spirit anymore. Gilda was dead serious. She gave up all hope, until a certain purple unicorn busted through the door, her horn flaring with magic and anger.

"Twilight!"  screamed Rainbow Dash in a mix of fear, surprise and sadness. Gilda left her, and grabbed a scalpel to fend off the unicorn- but Gilda stopped, seeing the flaring horn on Twilight’s forehead..

‘Okay, okay, I understand Lame-a** pony. What do you want?’ Gilda asked.

‘I want to know just one thing... What do you have against Rainbow Dash, Gilda?’ Twilight asked.

Gilda smirked upon watching the horrified face of Rainbow Dash. ‘Heh, guess what? Looks like you got yourself a girlfriend, Dashie.’ Gilda sneered, preparing to continue with tickling and mental torture.

Rainbow Dash began to cry and scream, ‘No! Help me, Twilight!! Please?!!’

Twilight was now as angry as the time when she saw Cadance in that cave and blasted Gilda with the biggest blast of magic she had ever released. Gilda was incinerated.

Right after Twilight released the Equestrian equivalent of napalm, Gilda fell dead. Twilight jumped on Gilda's dead body and screamed.

‘That's what you get by threatening my friend!’ and stabbed her horn through the heart of Gilda, making sure that she was dead for good. She released Rainbow Dash of her holds, and reassured the pegasus because she was crying like a foal...

Ponyville, Twilight's tree house, Equestria.

September 10th, 2012 BCR, 20:15 PM.

The moon had graced the country of Equestria again for another visit, and Luna had decided that it would be a full moon this time. The full disk of the moon shined all over the country, and in the little town of Ponyville almost all lights were out. Only a few houses had their lights still on, and one of those houses was the library of Ponyville, where a certain purple unicorn lived.

Normally, the unicorn would be alone on this hour, with only her dragon assistant at her side. But this time there was a certain cyan pegasus that stood alongside her, and was very sad. Twilight Sparkle did her best to comfort Rainbow Dash who had just been tickled and emotionally tortured by her foalhood friend, the griffin Gilda. Twilight had blasted her to death, and to make sure that nopony would resurrect her, had stabbed Gilda through her heart. But the cyan pegasus had been crying since she brought her back from the cellars of the abandoned Great Theater.

"Oh, Rainbow, please stop your crying. It's okay. It's okay!" said Twilight, trying her best to comfort her, but to no avail.

Or so it seemed. After a while, when she regained her emotions, Dash spoke for the first time since this morning to her. "Twilight, you don't understand! Gilda made me relive my past! You don't know what I've been through. Nopony does!" and began to cry again.

Twilight tried to tell her that she could talk about her 'experiences' when she was a foal, but Rainbow Dash spoke up before she could ask.

She sighed. "Twilight, what I am going to say, only one pony knows about this, and that's my old friend Fluttershy. She had been there during my youth and is the only one to verify it."

Twilight sat back, ready to listen what Rainbow had to tell.

Dashie told her that her parents had died right after her birth and when she was brought in a Helvetican orphanage, but Twilight said that she had heard about it already from Fluttershy. "So Fluttershy had told you that I was afraid of flying?" Twilight nodded.

‘I'm going to tell you the reason shortly, but after that it only went downhill. Life in the orphanage wasn't all that great. Ever since I was put there, they always had someone to beat me up, humiliate me and so on! I had to wash the dishes if I did something wrong, and that was always a false accusation.'

‘At school, it wasn't much better. I was being bullied by many fillies. You may say that Fluttershy has had the burden, those guys don't know anything! I was a pariah, an outcast! Even the teachers hated me. I had been beaten in every class, for stupid accusations! I was even being beaten for speaking in a classroom. During a debating class, Twilight!’

Twilight was stunned again, but knew what Rainbow Dash had been through, too. She also had been bullied a lot when she was a foal, but a pariah? Why should anypony regard a filly like Rainbow Dash as a pariah? She just couldn't wrap her head around it.

‘You see, Twilight. Pegasi classes are completely different than unicorn classes, or the classes Cheerilee gives. And especially in the time when I went to school. Pegasi classes, both Elementary and High School only last a couple of hours. Since the school buildings are located in the city itself, they only last a day in Spring and Summer, half a day in the Autumn and nothing in the Winter, so most of the day I had spent either in the orphanage or at work. Yes, Twilight, I worked my whole youth, and not normal work.’

Twilight was stunned again. She worked! A young filly doing work that was fitted to Mares and Stallions? What kind of world has she been in?!

‘Twilight, when I was young, the Helvetican Age was at its decline, and foal labor was still widely accepted. When I was at the age of three, pegasi Age, I worked in the coal mines of Cloudsdale! I pulled carts as big and heavy as a train of 20 fully loaded hay carts every day! From 5AM to 8PM!’

‘Now wait a minute" interrupted Twilight with the scholar instincts she had. "Cloudsdale having mines? I didn't know that.’

‘Not many ponies know that Cloudsdale has mines, Twilight. You see, in the time when Equestria was formed, it became clear that there were parts that were full with gemstones. The unicorns found out of the stones, but they couldn't salvage the goods. The pegasi ponies, it seemed, had a thing for technology and mining engineering, so they came to the aid of the unicorns and dug a mine right beneath the ground under Cloudsdale. After they were finished, it seemed that the unicorns weren't interested in the mine anymore and asked the pegasi to dig a mine right beneath the city of Canterlot after they saw that there were many more gems to be found there. The caves where you were sitting in and found the real Cadence during the wedding, Twilight, were dug by real pegasi labor!’

Twilight was being torn by different emotions. On the one hand, she felt being swelled with pride- walking around in a pegasi mine was something to be proud of, irregardless of what most Canterlot unicorns dared to usher. She liked pegasi technology, those creatures were smarter than they would look on the outside. But on the other hand, she was tormented with sorrow, because she almost killed her old foal sitter in a mine that the species of her friend Rainbow Dash had built.

‘Let's just say that I'm honored, but let’s move to something else.’ said Twilight.

‘After the pegasi of Cloudsdale had built the mine in Canterlot and had seen it with regretful eyes, they found out that this mine had coal depositories. Quickly, they changed the purpose of the mine, and it ushered the beginning of the Helvetican Age. In this mine, I worked by pulling the cart-trains. I worked there from 5 o' clock in the morning until 7, where I left the mine for school. I went to school until 11 o'clock in the morning and went straight back in the mine, and then I worked until it was 8 o'clock in the evening. In the Winter, I worked the whole time in the mine because pegasi kindergarten doesn’t have classes during the winter. I never saw any sunlight that whole time!’

Twilight was shocked. She couldn't say a word.

‘I did that until I was around 6, when the orphanage enrolled me in Summer Flight Camp- where I learned to fly. That's also the reason why I was afraid to fly, Twilight. I had stuck my head under the ground for the most of my life and then I should take to the sky? You can understand why I was afraid to fly!’

Twilight concurred.

‘As time passed on, I passed my flight exam and as I left school, I was still not happy. I wasn't fit to leave the orphanage yet so I was still stuck there. And when I came back from the diploma ceremony, I was greeted by a strange creature who stood in the hallway of the orphanage. It stood on two legs and had strange tubes stretching from his body. It's skin was pink, but not the pink in Pinkie's coat. And it didn't had any hooves, but 'hands' as they call it! Later on I heard that these creatures were called 'humans'.’

Twilight knew what time it was. Rainbow Dash had been conscripted to fight in a war. In the world where Equestria is a part of, it is custom that last years in academies fight in wars so that they learn a thing or two about military life. But this description was strange. Normally you could choose in which army you fought. It wasn't normal that the army came to the soldier, the soldier went to the army.

‘The Man was dressed in a strange uniform. Mostly gray and black. He had a great cap on his head and spoke a strange language...’

Cloudsdale, Helvetican Orphanage #17, Equestria.

August 1st, 1780 BCR.

Rainbow Dash had come back to the orphanage from sleeping at the academy after the ceremony. The ceremony had been conducted yesterday, but she was forced to sleep at the academy. Now, she was afraid of how her caretakers would react. When she stepped on the porch of the orphanage, instead of a screeching 'Mother', she heard a strange sound... It sounded like some kind of words, spoken by a person she didn't see...

‘Dear Miss Bolt, we would be very honoured if you brought us to the orphans.’ they said.

Rainbow Dash heard the name Bolt and knew that it was the name of her 'Mother', however she couldn't understand the rest.  Miss. Bolt was the lead caretaker and hated Rainbow Dash with her life. She was supposed to be responsible for the orphans, but was always pissed at Rainbow Dash. She then ran towards the strange noise and saw them.

They turned their heads and saw the young pegasus.

‘Splendid! Here's our soldier!’, the officer said.

Miss Bolt answered on that;

‘Gentlemen, I think you have a great example of a good soldier!’ she said, pointing to Rainbow Dash.

‘Good! She's a paratrooper- then!’

Rainbow Dash tried to reason with the soldiers and Miss. Bolt, but it was to no avail. Next, she was on the train to Lindau, Germany. Before she knew it, she was a part of the Wehrmacht- the German army in World War 2.

Twilight had listened to the story of how she was conscripted in the army and war itself. She knew which language the humans spoke and said to her; "In case you didn't know, Rainbow Dash, that language was German. You fought in the German army!"

Rainbow Dash wasn't so excited as Twilight. Her experiences in the army weren't that happy to begin with, but luckily she quickly caught the language. But the war came so quickly, and her division - the 17th Fallschirmjäger division - was dispatched to the battlefields of Europe. She first fought in Warsaw, Poland. Instead of a bombardment in Real Life, the German high command had decided that the airborne infantry would take the city. She was later dispatched towards Antwerp. The Belgians had made the same decision as in the previous war. They retreated to Antwerp and then again to the Westhoek, the most western part of Flanders. Again there was trench warfare but on a far smaller scale than in World War 1. Hitler had left the Westhoek for what it was, and decided to go for Russia. Rainbow Dash's division was also sent to Russia..

The winter of 1941 was a cold one and Rainbow Dash's regiment wasn't one that escaped that treatment. When spring came back Hitler had decided to go to Stalingrad, the city that bore  the name of his enemy. Rainbow Dash's regiment, the 28th Fallschirmjäger Regiment came to the city later. As the fight for the grain elevator was done.

Rainbow Dash was walking on her hind legs through the rubble of the city. Whilst carrying a MP40 she had made sure that she didn’t miss anyone that was a Russian soldier. She stood out of her group, being a pony of only a meter long compared to humans who were far bigger than her. But even with her appearance and her species, she had made friends in her regiment.

One of her best friends was Heinrich, an Berliner from the Seelöwe, a suburb of Berlin. A man who stood at 1.86 meters, strongly built with blond hair and sporting blue eyes, was utterly amazed by the appearance of the small pegasus, especially when it stood on her hind legs. Firing an MP40 or any gun for that matter may seem difficult for anypony with hooves instead of fingers, but this actually differs from pony to pony. Rainbow Dash didn't have any problems with firing human weapons. Actually, she was quite good! Now she was walking with her regiment through the rubble of Stalingrad.

‘Hey Heinz! You see anything?’ Rainbow Dash asked her regiments scout.

‘No! Nothing!’ he said.

Rainbow Dash had earned herself a medal. She had won the Iron Cross Second Class after saving a soldier during a battle by flying towards him. She was wearing it every day.

The Oberleutnant of the regiment, or Lieutenant Ludwig Kanortstein, reported back;

‘Attention! Apartment building up ahead!’ he said.

Everybody made their move. They saw a bombed down apartment building right before them, and everybody stood ready as Ludwig gave his orders towards his regiment.

‘Okay guys, here's the task. Supreme command wants us that we take this building by force. But watch out, reports tell us that the whole building is full with Russians. We take the building by Noon.’ he said.

They all sat down to eat their lunch.

Everybody had eaten their lunch and prepared their guns. Rainbow Dash put some spare ammunition in her pocket and shouldered her MP40. Pieter Solwakaus, a fat guy from the Elzas came towards Rainbow Dash;

‘Haha, Rainbow Crash, you honestly think that we will be needing that?’ said Heinrich, taunting her.

"Shut up, Pieter! We better not underestimate the Russians!" retaliated Rainbow Dash.

With that, Heinrich walked away and placed himself in position.

Ludwig looked on his watch to give the sign to attack. Finally, the sign was given.

‘Attack!!!’ He screamed, and the whole regiment ran towards the building.

Rainbow Dash had swung her MP40 and held it in her hooves. The regiment ran into the building and was already being shot at. Three soldiers fell dead by Russian machine gun fire.

"For Stalin!" the machine gunners screamed.

Rainbow Dash made an end to the rampage of the machine gunners by throwing a good aimed grenade towards them.

A scream from both indicated that they were dead.

What first seemed like an easy task, eventually turned into a long grueling nightmare. The Russian soldiers who were occupying the building seemed that they weren't going to surrender it that easily. The fight was going on for 8.5 hours. The German infantry reinforced the Fallshirmjägers with extra regiments and some well placed artillery strikes, but it wasn't enough to to subdue the Russians. Rainbow Dash was firing on a MG-42, when the previous crew had been blasted away.

The Germans were kept at bay on the first floor  But the Russians just kept on coming. Again a group of soldiers came screaming to the German position.

"Uraa!" they screamed.

Rainbow Dash hated that scream. Every time the Russians screamed like that, made her rethink of the screech of Gilda and haunted her a long time. She fired away and managed to shoot ten Russians but it wasn't enough. A grenade from the Russians knocked her unconscious.

The next thing she knew when she awoke she lay in a hospital bed but still in Stalingrad. Her injuries were minor so she could join the fight again.

Rainbow Dash was telling her first experiences with war and Twilight had listened with awe. ‘Twilight, that wasn't the only war I've fought in. There were many more. Many, Many, Many more!’

Twilight spoke. ‘This battle, do you know what it was named?’

‘Yes, Twilight. Later on, it was called 'The battle for Pavlov's House.' I went back there once to talk to the people that I fought. The people were friendly enough to let me talk about my experiences back then...’

Ponyville, Twilight's library, Equestria.

September 10th, 2012 BCR, 22:30 PM

The Equestrian night still covered the country of Equestria. At this hour most ponies would be sleeping, but not in the tree that housed the library of the little town. Two ponies, a purple unicorn and a cyan pegasus were still talking about what happened in the life of the cyan one.

"I don't know what you think, Twilight," said the pegasus, "but..." and she broke in tears.

The memories that were locked in her mind for so long were flooding like a rapid out of her mind. The unicorn, the element of magic, did her best to comfort the pegasus.

"Shh, it's okay, Rainbow Dash. Everything is going to be okay..." and she took her in her arms.

Rainbow Dash was sobbing hard in the legs of Twilight and Twilight did her best not to cry. She, like many Ponies from her time had endured hardships. She wanted to tell Rainbow her stories, but given the state her best friend was in, she figured that wasn't a good idea to do so. After a long while, Rainbow regained her composure and spoke. "Thanks, Twi, I needed that."

"It was a pleasure, my dear friend!" she said with a forced smile.

The memories of her own life were charging through her head, but with the magic of a unicorn she could manage it to keep them locked. It would be for another time, she thought.

Rainbow Dash readied herself to fly back to her cloud home, but Twilight stopped her. ‘Dash, wait! I don’t think it would be a good idea to sleep alone’’ she said.

‘Why not, Twilight?" Rainbow asked, right after she stopped at the door.

‘Well, I don't know. But you seemed troubled, very troubled. And I don't think sleeping alone would be such a good idea.’

Rainbow thought about these words, and a couple of tears that streamed down her face seemed to seal the deal. She ran into Twilight's side and sobbed again. The cyan pegasus couldn't say no to something like that. It was so generous of her friend.  All that she had remembered came back. Twilight let Dash cry and hummed a lullaby her mother always seemed to sing when she was in tears. The pegasus seemed to be at rest, and Twilight carried the pegasus with her magic towards her bed.

Twilight had two beds, but her second bed was still in repair right after what Applejack and Rarity had done to it when they were sleeping over during the storm, so she didn't had a choice to let the pegasus sleep in her bed. She blushed at the thought, but her prudence was quickly pushed away when she thought that it was her friend at stake. She then gently placed the sleeping Rainbow on the other side of her bed, and slowly climbed in her side of the bed. She looked over the sleeping body of her friend, but quickly fell asleep.

The night hadn't caused any more troubles.

The morning sun shone upon the country of Equestria again and the morning of this day was a pretty one. Rainbow awoke and thought, 'Heh, the pegasi of Cloudsdale have overdone themselves, again!' The events of yesterday came into her mind again. Luckily, Gilda was dead and dead for sure. She wouldn't be troubling her again. She climbed out of bed but saw that she wasn't in her home. After she thought a little bit further, she remembered that she was in Twilight's house. And she was surprised again, because Twilight was nowhere to be found. She quickly trotted down the stairs, and saw Twilight rumbling around in the kitchen of the library.

Twilight was, with the help of her magic, making something for Rainbow Dash and herself. She was too busy to notice that Rainbow was climbing down the stairs.

Rainbow placed herself at the table, not to scare her friend. After Twilight was ready making something for her friend and herself, she saw Rainbow sitting on the table. "Ah, Good morning, Rainbow Dash!" she said.

Rainbow did her best to take the blush of her face, and Twilight laughed with the antics of the pegasus.

They both ate their breakfast and Twilight spoke up. "You know, Rainbow- your story stirred something in me. I also had a terrible youth like you. Hay, all of our friends had terrible youths!"

Rainbow was shocked! She didn't know and it was the last thing she would think about. Her friends not experiencing happy lives. She thought she was alone. ‘I talked to our friends to come in the Library to tell their stories.’ Twilight paused. ‘I, *sigh* had one, too.’

Now was Rainbow more shocked than ever before. Twilight. Of all the mares in Equestria.

Rainbow took the watery-eyed Twilight in her arms, and let her cry out. 'It's okay, Twi. I’m here.’

Ponyville, Twilight's Library, Equestria.

September 11th, 2012 BCR. 12:00 AM

Rainbow was happy. For the very first time in her life, she experienced pure happiness. All her friends, even Applejack who was a pony who held a grudge towards the cyan pegasus sometimes- was listening to her stories. This, she had never even dreamed of.

After she was done telling the story of her life, from the day she was born to yesterday- the whole room fell in silence. Nopony dared to utter a word, until Rarity broke the silence.

‘My, that Gilda character was sure a uncouth griffin! Why, laughing at a Pegasus who was afraid of flying, I say!’ Everypony laughed for the way Rarity spoke, especially at the time being. Even Rarity laughed after a while.

'Yeah, I know.' she said flatly.

Pinkie, after hearing her story, spoke too. ‘Dashie, let me speak for the girls out here, that you are absolutely not alone! Let us tell our stories. I had to work on a rock farm as a foal.’ All the girls in the room cringed.

Pinkie didn't received the time to tell them her story so this came extra hard for her. Pinkie Pie didn’t told much about her youth because she was busy with throwing parties around at random. ‘But, that's not all. My father and mother weren't so merry as you would think from rock farmers and my sisters weren't so nice, either.’

Equestrian rock farmers are the Equestrian equivalent of the Amish in our world, but, in comparison to the Amish, we Equestrian rock farmers were mostly very friendly ponies. The Pie family, wasn’t. Pinkie, or Pinkamena, was unlucky enough to be born into one of the most remote rock farmer families in whole of Equestria. The Pie Family was already tough, but in Equestria, they had to be even tougher.. Pinkie was victim to most of the verbal and physical abuse as a foal.

Applejack spoke up, right after Pinkie had told her story.

‘Well, Pinkie, ah can tell ya girls somethin' bout mah yout'. Mah parent's died right after ta birth o' Applebloom. Mah Granny Smith was then' kind enough to take us in.’ Applejack began then to weep silently into her Stenton she always wears.

‘This ol' hat was ta hat of mah ol' pa', of what ah can remember of him, anyway!’ she said with a sorrowful voice.

Twilight and Fluttershy were the ones that reassured the orange cow pony.

The parents of Applejack died when Applebloom was born. Applejack and Big MacIntosh were around four when it happened. She had just come back from her trip from Manehattan when her parents died. Her parents were sick from Ponyfluenza, and Applejack was heartbroken from the loss of her parents. The trip that she made to go searching for her special talent way down in Manehattan was in a time when her parents seemed well. But Ponyfluenza is a cruel disease. There are moments when the sickness has appeared to be subdued, but then there are moments when it can come back and finish the job. And for poor young Applejack, when she came back to the farm where she lived all her life, the hour of their death was upon her parents.

While Applejack cried of the terrible memories of the death of her parents, Rarity spoke up with reddened eyes. "Rainbow Dash, although I may seem  like a boring fashion designer, I had to make this life on my own!" she said, also with a sobbing voice.

For the young Rarity, her lifelong dream was always to be a fashion designer. The urge to complete her life purpose came when she found out that she had an eye for detail and did her best to apply that gift to everything she came across. But her parents were not so happy with Rarity’s dream.

Actually, her parents never liked Rarity at all. The father of Rarity was an unforgiving  drunk and her mother was the kind of pony that always could start a fight. Rarity had always been beaten, and abused both verbally and sexually. The birth of Sweetie Belle didn’t help at all. Finally, the parents had something to be proud of, it wasn't a complete failure like Rarity.

So, Rarity did her best to find a new persona to fit her life, because the life of a normal farm city pony wasn't going to fit it. So, after she read a few stray magazines of her mother’s. She read about the glamorous lives of the big city ponies, and tried her very best to fit into that lifestyle. But there were still some moments where she wanted nothing more but to run around and play and talk like a farm pony... but the disapproving glares and hooves of her parents still lingered in her thoughts.

Rarity joined crying alongside the orange farm pony when a yellow and pink maned pegasus spoke.

‘Dash, my life was completely different than yours. I knew my parents, and they were good, but at school, life was hell! Outside school was worse, too.’

The youth of the pegasus called Fluttershy had a small difference compared towards the youths of the other ponies. Her parents were alive and were good parents, but life outside the parental house of Fluttershy’s wasn't so kind towards her. School wasn't fair towards her. Since Fluttershy had a born shyness towards everything, the pegasi in school happily abused the fact. Billy and Hoopes, two of the most jerky pegasi that ever came from Cloudsdale, were ponies that took advantage of Fluttershy's shyness and adorableness. Since Fluttershy couldn't fly that well, she was given the 'delightful’' nickname Klutzershy.

Also, Fluttershy fell towards the ground. Some may think that she had stayed on the ground and built the life everypony in Ponyville knows her to live, but something else happened.  there happened something different. Her parents came after Fluttershy after they heard that she had fell to the ground. Being heartbroken from the pleas and crying of their filly, they dragged her back to Cloudsdale and was brought back to Summer Flight Camp.

Fluttershy didn't cry, Fluttershy just couldn't cry. Iit hurt Dash the most. Not that Fluttershy was sad, oh no. She was broken from the harsh memories, but it seemed that she had cried all the way from her cottage to the library. At last, Twilight spoke up. "Rainbow Dash, I can tell you that my youth is an exception towards the rest that has spoken here, but it also scourges my mind!"

The youth of Twilight was an exception toward the rest of her friends. The young unicorn mare had a childhood very few ponies can even dream of. She had a good brother, Shining Armour, her parents were nice towards her, heck, they even loved her. The exception being. She was the protege of the most powerful creature that had ever graced the Equestrian soil, Princess Celestia!

Her parents were so nice to bring Twilight down to Celestia's school, and for most of the time, it went well. She was quite popular with the girls, and was an excellent student. Even today some remainders of that quirkiness can be found there. But, after a while, began to see that she wasn’t wanted at school anymore. She wanted to learn, but the girls at her school began to act differently towards the young mare. Even some of the teachers began to act differently towards the young mare.

One day, two unicorn fillies began to bully Twilight, and the bullying quickly changed into full violence. The unicorns were the two daughters of the richest unicorn in all of Canterlot. Dirk Rich, a far cousin of the youngest of the Rich family in Ponyville, Filthy Rich. Diamond Rich and Gold Mine were actually almost like Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, if you count out their prone to violence. It would be idiotic to go about the many incidents the two unicorns had with Twilight, but one incident stands out.

On the 25th of May, in the year of 1945 BCR, Twilight  was silently reading in the great library of Canterlot, when a gigantic issue of Sun Tzu’s Art of War was flung towards the young filly. It impacted with great speed in the back of the filly. The Rich sisters began to throw more and more books toward Twilight. Other fillies in the school that heard the commotion came to join in.

The crowd of fillies grew, all of the laughing with Twilight’s suffering. Even a couple of teachers that hated Twilight came down there to laugh with her also. In the crowd, stood one particular pony. The pegasus Clopping Hooves A.K.A. coach Thunder. After he was fired from the Cloudsdale, he was transferred to Canterlot, where the poor young filly Twilight Sparkle was the victim of his never ending violence. next victim in his never ending violence raid. Princess Celestia had to come down and put an end to it. All the fillies and teachers that had taken part were suspended. The Rich sisters were expelled from the school, and were never heard of seen  again...

Twilight silently wept, but after a while she had regained control of her emotions. The same was said for Rarity and Applejack. Pinkie Pie regained her poofy hair again and said towards Rainbow, "Well, that's our lives!" Rainbow was stunned. She couldn't say anything for a while but when she spoke again, she said, "Girls, I-I-I didn't know..."

Twilight took her under the arm. "Just say nothing, Rainbow Dash, you told your story, we told ours. There's nothing more to be said"...

Twilight had readied a quill and a piece of paper, and was ready to write a letter for Rainbow Dash. Spike was there, but Twilight insisted that the baby dragon have his rest. He convinced Twilight to let him send the letter to Celestia, because there was no other way to send it.

"Okay, Dash, I'm ready to write! Ready?"

And the next words made the letter.

Dear Princess Celestia,

You may think of me as a brasher and a tomboy, but I’d have to say that you are completely wrong! I have lived a terrible life, but  my friends had told me that I'm not the only one. You may think that I’m not grateful for my life because of my rough childhood, but that’s not true. These ties in my life have me live life to the fullest.

Today I learned again, that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.

Sorry if this letter is kinda short, but I’m not a writer, dear princess.

Your faithful subject, Rainbow Dash.

Twilight closed the scroll, and everypony in the room clapped with their hooves. Spike blew it towards Canterlot in a puff of green smoke.

Celestia closed the scroll with her magic and placed her wing on her younger sister Luna.

"Yes, dear sister?"

"Tell the guards that Miss. Rainbow Dash deserves a great birthday present." she said.

"What do We have to tell them?" asked Luna.

"Tell them that the Wonderbolts shall fly over the house of Miss. Rainbow Dash."

"Yes, dear sister" Luna said, and ran towards the guard quarter.

Celestia was alone, and smiled. "Hahaha, Rainbow, I know that you had a terrible life, but I'm here to make it better."

And with that, Celestia began to write a letter to Rainbow Dash and her friends...
