Siege On The Diamond Castle

by Shadowmane PX-41

Chapter 1: The War

This was truly a dark day for Equestria. Ponyville lied in ruins, most of the trees and plantlife had been destroyed and many of the houses were turned to rubble. On the mountain, just walling off Ponyville, there stood a massive diamond covered castle, which over shadowed the entire sun, making it bleaker and darker. On a nearby mountain, four mares, dressed in battle armour, were rallying up their troops for an assault on this new castle.

"Every day of every week of every month of every year. She watches, watches as the little fillies and colts fail to strive in her dark, twisted kingdom. And she loves every second of it." Said commander Scootaloo of the aerial strike team, "She thrives on misery, making it so that no-pony else can be happy. And it's gone on long enough. This will be a great day for ponykind, my army of crusaders! Today we struggle, today we bleed and today, we end Diamond Tiara's reign of pain. Are you with me!?"

"YYEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH" Erupted from all the soldiers as well as Scootaloo's other commanders, Applebloom of the cavalry, Sweetie Belle of the mages and Babs Seed of the infantry line.

"On, my mark... CHHHAAARRRRGGGEEE!!!!!"

All grounded ponies were charging through the ruined city. Creating an earthquake of hooves as they ran. The pegasi, took towards the castle and roared like jets as they roared past and were now high above the castle. Once they were within striking distance of the castle, the pegasi fired an endless volley of magical orbs, all of which exploded upon touching the castle walls. The infantry and cavalry were scaling the massive curly road as they were charging in on the castle doors.

As the destruction took place, a pink mare with an actual crown this time, stood on the balcony of her throne room, watching as the ponies ran up the hill and watched the magic balls strike and explode on target. Soon after, she was joined by her consort. A grey mare with two psychic balls floating in mid-air and a weirdly coloured robe covering her fur.

"Invaders, ugghh. Not again." The pink mare said as she turned back into her castle, with the grey mare quickly following, "Doesn't anypony know that I am the dominant force in this town?!"

"The cannons are loaded, Princess Diamond." The mare said as she gazed at her magical balls once more, "Just give the word and we'll send em packing."

"Thank you, Consort Silver." She turned to the guards on the other spires and towers. Man the cannons, boys. Aim for the invading ponies. And on my command, unleash hell!"

The guards turned towards the cannons and took them in both of their front hooves. Making sure to aim down the sights, they pointed squarely at the mage ponies in the town.

"FIRE!"

The cannons shot massive black steel balls, all hurtling at a massive speed towards the mages. Sweetie Belle took notice and rallied her mages to fire back, "We're not going down that easily, boys. RETURN FIRE!!!" The mages were now vollying green magic at the black balls of steel. Each shot hitting its' mark square on, with a few noticeable misfires.

Diamond's guards now turned towards Applebloom and Babs' armies of grounded ponies, firing on them as they neared the front door, and the moat that surrounded it. Applebloom was quick to notice the ball of black steel hurtling towards her, luckily, Scootaloo and her pegasi had swooped down and kicked the ball away from Applebloom and her followers.

"Thanks fer the heads up, Scootaloo." She said as she and Babs closed in on the moat.

"Don't mention it." She said as she and her troops took off towards the sky once more, preparing fro another aerial defense or assault.

"This is it, boys." Babs rallied her infantry troops, "Once we get through this door, it's a clear climb up the castle to battle with Princess Diamond. Grappling hook soldiers, aim at the drawbridge and throw the hooks!"

The infantry ponies took their grappling hooks by the rope and swung them around, so as to pick up momentum and hurl them a longer distance. Once they were satisfied with the speed of their swing, they hurled their hooks at the top edge of the drawbridge. each shot went just over the bridge and got stuck on the other side. The infantry ponies now pulled their hooks back with all their might, trying to pull down the drawbridge from afar.

__________________________________________

"Diamond! They're breaking through the drawbridge, we need an attack plan!" A guard said to her as he ran into the room.

"Cut the ropes. If you do, they can't get across the moat and they won't be able to get in." She started to tell the guard, "And if the drawbridge does come down, lower the portcullis as soon as the bridge slams down on the other side!"

"Very well then." He ran over to a hole in the wall and barked the orders to his fellow guards, "ALL TROOPS, ASSAULT THE DRAWBRIDGE!!! DO NOT LET THE INVADERS IN!!!"

The guards, all garbed in crystalline armour, were now running towards the drawbridge. By the time they got there, it was already too late, and Applebloom and Babs' ponies were rushing into the castle courtyard, fighting off the guards that were a little late. Spears and swords were slamming into each other, one after another in quick succession.

It was at this point in time, that Babs did some pretty slick moves and completely snuck past all of the fighting guards. Once she was behind them all, she began to impale them from behind, making sure not to take any of her troops or any of Applebloom's troops down with the dead guards.

"Thanks, couz." Applebloom said as she and her troops took out the last of the guards, spilling the last pony blood all over the diamond armour plates.

"Alright, move up!" Babs said as she and Applebloom, along with all of their soldiers, ran inside the castle and through the halls, taking out any additional guards as they ran. After they made sure that there wasn't any more guards, they ran up the stairs.

"Are you sure?" Diamond, looking worried was now asking her consort, Silver , "There aren't any more guards?"

"Sorry, Your Highness." She hung her head, "We barely had enough time to hit the 2,000 mark in number of guards. Beside the ones stationed over at the Crystal Empire, we're completely flat out."

"Fine then." Diamond bent down to a scabbard on her side, bit the handle with her muzzle and pulled out a sword made entirely out of diamond, "I'll just have to deal with these fools myself!"

"Are you insane?!" Silver tried to stop her from walking out the door, "You can't face an entire army like that by yourself!" She grew a tiny smirk, "Not without a little help."

Silver started to channel a flow of energy, every second it flew, it spawned what looked like humans made entirely out of energy. Once Silver was happy with her creations, she smiled and her psychic balls exerted black magic, making her humans larger and faster.

"That should hold them off for a while." Silver turned to her princess, Diamond, "Long enough for me to give you a little edge."

Silver's orbs wrapped their dark energy around Diamond Tiara, lifting her off the air and cocooning her in a veil of black magic. The magic intensified quite rapidly and the cocoon finally shattered, revealing what looked like a human. Its' entire body was nothing more for a silhouette at this moment, but the lightning wrapping around its' hands and the red eyes opening was a sign that it was very powerful indeed.

"Almost there, everypony!" Applebloom said as she and Babs were looking at a door at the end of the corridor, coated with a diamond frame and bearing Diamond's Cutie Mark on the doors, "We just need to get to the end of this corridor and then we win!"

"Hold up." Applebloom stopped her men and Babs, who was about to make a mad dash for the door, "It's too easy. She must have something waiting fer us up here."

Suddenly, an otherworldly groaning could be heard from Diamond's doors, and standing in the corridors was what looked like humans larger in size and fast at moving. Each one was bearing a different weapon ranging from swords, axes, spears, and even a few hammer bearing guards.

"I must say, you've been quite a pain in Princess Diamond's flank." A disembodied voice said before a black flash appeared in front of the humans. It was a grey mare with glasses and two orbs floating in the air around her. It was Consort Silver, "I can't make this fight too easy for you now can I?"

"See, Ah knew it." She told Babs before turning back towards Silver, "It's her last line of defense. And no doubt, being a master strategist, Diamond has probably saved the best for last.

"You're right." Silver disappeared and reappeared behind Applebloom and Babs momentarily before warping back to her initial space in front of the humans, "Beyond these doors lie Her Majesty. But being her right hoof pony, I won't let you harm her!"

"Well, then, we're at an impasse." Babs said calmly before hoof-signalling the orders to her ponies, "We'll just have to finish you as well!"

The ponies were now running towards the humans, the humans did the same. And it wasn't long before the ponies were crossing steel with Silver's humans. Each time the steel met, it was usually the humans who got the upper hand. Each time the humans hit their opponent, they vanished, only leaving a few lines of their skin behind for a brief moment before reappearing behind the ponies and kicking them to the floor.

"I made them myself." Silver gloated to Applebloom and Babs as their troops were taking a pounding, "It's always good for a mage to conjure up anything that can turn the tide of battle."

"Nnngh." Babs grunted as she was pushing back an axe, swung by one of Silver's humans, "How strong are they?!"

"Just keep going!" Applebloom knocked back another human with her spear, "I'm sure they're starting to tire out!"

Suddenly, the humans conjured up a spell aura in their hands. Similar to a move from a fighting game. Once they were happy with their spell power, they pushed it at the ponies. Instead of the spell leaving their hands as balls, they fired them as giant lasers of energy, vaporizing most of Applebloom and Babs' soldiers, and almost diminishing their army completely.

"Game's over, fools." Silver's orbs turned into giant crystal hands, grabbing Babs in one hand and Applebloom in the other. The remaining ponies were being crushed by the humans, who were now sitting on them, "Any last words?"

"Yeah." Babs struggled to speak through the hand's choking grip, "Sweet dreams!"

Silver was suddenly struck by a spell from behind, knocking her unconscious. After she fell to the floor, Sweetie Belle and her mages were standing behind her. When Silver fell to the floor, It released Applebloom and Babs from the choking grip of Silver's crystal hands, allowing them to breathe again once they touched the floor again. Silver's knockdown also removed her humans from the plane of existance.

"Thanks, Sweetie Belle." Babs said once she got her breath back again, "I thought we were finished back there."

"Don't mention it, Babs." Sweetie Belle retracted her staves and her mages followed suit, "Just happy to aid you and finish this reign of terror."

"How'd ya get here that fast though?" Applebloom stroked her chin, looking quite puzzled, "Ah mean ah know that mages can teleport, but not this far from the battlefield."

"She had some help." Scootaloo said through a cracked window. She was now with all of her winged soldiers and was following Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Babs to the doors emblazoned with Diamond's mark.

"Hold up, Applebloom, you too, Babs." Scootaloo stopped them from opening the door, "You two could use a rest after that intense battle. Let us wear her down, whilst you fix yourselves up."

"That's very thoughtful of you, Scootaloo." Babs started to say, "But if we're dethroning Diamond Tiara, we've gotta do it as a team." She turned to Sweetie Belle, "Sweetie, have you got any healing spells for us?"

"Sure. Just give me three seconds." She pulled out one of her staves and swung it lightly in front of her face. Suddenly, Babs and Applebloom were enveloped in a green glow and their acquired cuts and pain had completely vanished from their flesh.

"Thanks, Sweetie." Applebloom said as she got back up to her hooves again and was headed for the door.

"No problem."

Applebloom touched the door with her hooves, it was cold, like Diamond's heart. She tried to push it open, but it was too heavy for just herself to manage.

"Nnngh." She gasped for breath, "It's stuck. Give me some help with this, everypony."

All of the ponies, friends and soldiers alike were pushing against the door. After a good 15 seconds of straining and pushing, the door finally opened.

Inside, the room was completely deserted, there was a few rubble ruined tiles on the floor and broken mirrors. The curtain covered bed had its' curtain ripped to pieces and rendered incompatible for restoration. The ponies looked around for Diamond Tiara until they found a weird ball of white magic, with seven smaller balls of magic inside of it, each one bearing an individual colour of the rainbow.

"What the?" Babs was astonished at the ball of magic. She'd never seen the likes of it before.

"The Harmony Sphere." Sweetie Belle said as she frisked the ball of magic with her staves, "This sphere can restore Ponyville and every other city on Equestria to its' former glory. Diamond must have been keeping this safe, just so she could watch our cities crumble at the seems."

"Well now, aren't you the clever one, Sweetie Belle." Diamond's voice was heard from the ceiling. She soon dropped down from the chandelier hanging above them and landed in front of the Harmony Sphere, "Although it's not was protecting, it's IS protecting."

"Diamond, what the hay happened to you?" Applebloom asked as she noticed Diamond's silhouette was taller and standing on her hind legs.

"Oh this?" She finally emerged from the shadows, only as a human, garbed in a rainbow of jewels encrusted in armour, instead of a pony, "Just a little something Silver threw together at the last minute. You like?"

"You must be desperate this time." Babs said as her troops readied their spears for an attack, "It's too bad I'm gonna have to CUT your plans short."

"Oh please, don't you think that it's an unfair match up for me, to face an entire army like that?" Diamond extended her hand and opened up her palm, each fingertip veiled in a black ball of magic. The soldiers were quickly bombarded by more of those black orbs that came out of nowhere, and at the same time, they were removed from existance and the doors slammed shut before turning into wall, "If we're gonna finish this feud once and for all, I prefer to use a no-help rule."

"So what if we no longer have an army." Scootaloo spoke with vigor, "You're still outmatched, 4 to 1!"

"Yes, but you ponies forgot one thing." She said with a smirk growing and black magic wrapping around her hands and body, "I... Am... A... GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Suddenly, a torrent of dark magic enveloped the entire room, obscuring the CMC's vision of Diamond and the room around them. When they adjusted their eyes to the darkness. They saw nothing but a purple dimension with no visible but touchable floor. Every few seconds, a lightning strike would go off in the distance, making a thunderclap in perfect sync.

Diamond Tiara finally revealed herself again, only this time, she was carrying two massive black staves, with swords attached to the bottom of each. Thus enabling her to use swordplay and dark magic. She did some impressive staff twirling before finally holding it in her combat position, with one staff at each side. After she had stopped, the CMC drew their weapons and charged.

Diamond clashed with Sweetie first, firing dark magic to counter Sweetie Belle's. Every ball of magic fired exploded upon touching the balls of dark magic. While Sweetie Belle was recharging, Diamond Tiara warped behind her with some leftover magic and kicked Sweetie to the invisible floor.

Babs came in next, with spear tip headed straight for Diamond's temporary chest. Diamond quickly saw her ploy and took a hold of the spear tip, thus rendering it useless. She then yanked the spear out of Babs's muzzle and tossed it across the dimension with little effort.

Scootaloo tried to give aerial cover, but she was only dodging the endless lightning that constantly spewed out the darkness at all corners and proved useless to the remaining crusaders.

"Looks like it's you and me again, Diamond." Applebloom said as she took her sword and circled Diamond with sword ready for any surprise attacks.

"So it seems." She agreed, not even trying to attack this time, to Applebloom's surprise, "But really, what's the point in killing me, when you know that your fate will be sealed afterwards?"

"Mah fate?" She looked quite puzzled and momentarily sheathed her sword, "Ah have no clue what yer talkin' about."

"It's simple really." She conjured up a black throne and sat on it, "Everypony I met has sampled my darkness. Including you, Applebloom. Everyone I met was marked with a high power spell which takes them all down if I die in combat. In other words if you blank-flanks destroy me, you will be destroying yourselves as well."

"She's bluffing!" Babs took back her spear and pushed the tip into each of Diamond's knees. But fell back when she felt pain on her knees as well, "Oww!, She's not bluffing!"

"You see now. You can't stop me without defeating yourselves." She smirked and stood up from the throne before lifting the CMC up in a black magic aura and throwing them into the throne, smashing it and causing the rubble pieces and ruined base to vanish, "You might as well give up and run home to your mommies while you have the chance, provided their still alive that is."

"I have a plan but it's dicey. Just keep going for a few seconds more, I'll be back." Sweetie Belle was wrapped in white light and suddenly vanished into thin air. She then found herself back in Diamond's ruined room, and found the Harmony Sphere in front of a black vortex with a lock around it.

"Applebloom, Babs, Scootaloo." She spoke to them through one of the balls on one her staff, "I want you to wear Diamond down, I'm gonna bring the Harmony Sphere into this game!"

Applebloom, Babs ans Scootaloo followed orders and continued the battle with Diamond, both sides performing cool dodges and sword slashes. Diamond fired dark magic but almost every shot missed its' mark because the crusaders were fast on their hooves. She teleported behind them for the final shot, which hit them all with one fell swoop. They fell to the non-existant floor and grunted in pain before being turned onto their backs by Diamond, who was now pointing the sword half of her staff onto their necks.

"I told you a million times before, Cutie Mark Crusaders." She said as they struggled for breath, "I am the dominant pony in this world! And with my newfound power, not even Celestia stands a chance against me!"

"Yes, but you're soon gonna be out of our lives for good!" Babs said as she noticed Sweetie Belle had re-entered the void-like dimension with the Harmony Sphere above her.

"Babs, how many times do I have to tell you?" She leaned in closer to her face, "Nothing can stop me, and anypony that tries will die as well. It'd be just like killing yourselves."

"Yes, but what if it wasn't a pony bringing about your demise?" Scootaloo looked confident as Sweetie Belle fired the Harmony Sphere at Diamond's back.

"I don't follow." Diamond looked surprised and sheathed her staves, "Maybe you could spell it out for me?"

"Hope you like the lights." Applebloom said as she started an epic one-liner as the Harmony Sphere was almost about to collide with Diamond, "Cause they're gonna put on a show!"

Diamond was hit in the back with the Harmony Sphere, causing her to fall onto the ground and groan in pain. She tried to move from the ground, but the Harmony Sphere had turned into restraints which held down both of her arms and legs. Applebloom and the other crusaders walked on her back and prepared for the final blow.

"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!!!" They all said as they jabbed their weapons into Diamond's neck, separating it from her body. As her head rolled, it turned back into her pony head as did her now lifeless body. Once her head finished rolling, her tiara fell onto the floor and shattered to pieces.

Once the crusaders leapt off of her corpse, they were blinded by a massive flash of light, and when their eyes adjusted again, they were back in the ruined room, Diamond was nowhere to be seen and the black vortex had vanished as well.

"Well, we've done it." Babs said they started to walk out of the castle, "We've saved Equestria from a filly-shaped demise. And secured a future with peace and harmony."

As soon as the crusaders left the castle, It rumbled a little before collapsing into the moat around it. Once all the pieces fell away, Sweetie Belle flooded the moat, making the castle rubble un-retrievable.

"This way, no-one can bring her back from the dead." Applebloom said as she acknowledged Sweetie Belle's river spell, "We're all gonna live together with no more pain and misery. It's gonna be one heck of a-"

"Diamond." They all returned to reality in Diamond's room, wearing what looked like costumes of what they were wearing before, "Are you and you're friends playing nice up there?"

"Uhh, yes, Daddy!" She called down the stairs before walking back into the room to the other ponies and shutting the door behind her.

"Well, that was fun, I will admit." Silver admitted and took off her costume, "You crusaders have an accurate imagination."

"Thanks, Silver." Scootaloo said as she and the other crusaders de-clothed themselves, "You and Diamond were dead on with the story as well."

"What do you say, best two of three?" Diamond proposed as she kept her costume on and picked her tiara up again.

"Yeah, let's go!" Babs said as she and the other crusaders got some different, japanese looking costumes on now, as did Silver and Diamond, "This time, I was thinking a Japonese style battle."

"Sweet, we get ninjas this time." Silver said as she put on a geisha wig while Diamond clothed herself in a little samurai outfit that fitted herself perfectly. Silver began to narrate the next story, "It was the outskirts of the hirotashimane city, ponies were struggling to survive under the reign of empress Dimondius Shirotailnage..."

Let's leave our little ponies to their role-playing games. Content that this chapter in the Diamond Tiara conflict chronicle is over, for now...

Author's Notes:

Thanks for reading the fic, guys. Sorry if it's stopped me from continuing with my AR fics, but this guy requested that I do something else, so I thought "Screw it! I'll contribute to the Diamond Cutters by making another story for them to read." Hopefully you guys will give me good criticisms for it, and well... there's nothing else to say at this moment in time. Enjoy your day.
